Billie

My phone rings.

And it's Flynn.

Kill me.

I've benn walking my room up and down for 20 minutes straight. I don't know what's suddenly going on between Blake and me but I do know whatever it is it will hurt Flynn a lot if she'd knew.

I would never want to hurt Flynn. Not for one second. I love her like a sister and understand that she can't stand girls choosing her brother over her. I would never do that. I need to be careful that something like today at the nurse's room will never happen again. We might have not kissed but I was sure as hell into it and if I wouldn't have got up in that exact second, I swear we would have kissed.

I feel bad. A lot.

Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit.

My phone stops ringing. I sigh in relief.

I know I need to talk to her at some point but if I call her back right now she can tell something is up right away. I should have gone with her instead of staying in this town with Blake. Fucked up life.

My phone starts ringing again.

Damn it!

I just stare at it. Ringing. I hate myself for ignoring her but I just can't talk to her right now. I know I shouldn't have went to Blake's after what happened with Chris but I had to go somewhere. I just couldn't think of anything else than his'.

My phone stops ringing, a message lighting up on my screen.

F: you probably sleeping right now so just call me back as soon as you wake up
F: don't worry nothing happened
F: just need my sister to talk to me
F: to hear your beautiful voice
F: wink wink

I smile. I love her.

My smile drops. I'm a horrible person.

I sigh and walk towards the stairs. Downstairs my father is drinking a smoothie. I raise a brow. I've never seen my father drinking a smoothie before.

"Since when is Oliver Adams drinking smoothies?" I ask him and plump down on the couch next to my father.

"Got the recipe from an old friend. Thought I needed to try it. It's banana mixed with apples and oranges. You want to try it?" he asks me reaching out his arm towards me, holding the smoothie in his hand.

I shake my head. "No, thanks."

My father takes a sip and raises a brow. "Something happened? You look a bit lost, Sweety," he asks me worried.

"I'm fine. Just a bit tired. You look happy though." I smile at him.

My father nods. "Remember my trip two weeks ago?" I nod. "Well, I met an old school friend and we've been talking a lot lately. It's great to get to talk about the old times, you know?"

My smile brightens. I'm glad to see my father happy. I've always been worried to never see him that happy again but this? It's awesome!

"Hey, I'm gonna go on another trip next weekend and I want you to stay with the Evan's as long as I'm gone. You can concentrate on school and don't need to worry about cleaning up or anything," my father explains and takes another sip of his smoothie.

I frown. "Flynn is not even here and why do I need a babysitter for two days?"

There's no way I'm gonna stay in this house if Flynn's not even there. I've messed up already and I really don't need to mess up even worse.

"Well, I'm gonna stay the whole week so I'd like you to eat something else than a pizza. I already talked to Simone and Erik. You don't need to worry about anything, Simone is already existed to take care of you." My father smiles at me and I don't even dare to discuss this with him.

"And mom's birthday?" My mother's birthday is coming up in two weeks and since I don't know when exactly my father is coming back from his trip I just hope he didn't forget it.

My father puts down his glass and sighs. He's looking sad, almost as if I insulted him or something. "Billie Adams. I would never, never forget your mother's birthday. Don't worry, I'll be there."

I just nod. As long as we watch my mother's favorite movie -The Notebook-, then listen to all the MamaMia songs, sing together and visit her grave after. It's a tradition we've always been doing on my mother's birthday, well except the grave visiting. That's a new add in our tradition.

"Have fun then."

...

"Alright. Small recap for myself. Flynn got accepted to the national's. Chris outed himself as an asshole and will be sent back home, you and Blake are going to live together and Oliver gets banged. College will be nothing without you, Bill Bill," Julien says and I hit the back of his head.

I won't admit it but I sure as hell will miss this stupid red haired boy in front of me. He might be annoying the shit out of me and he might be a pain in the ass and maybe an asshole but still, I do kinda love him. He's weird and definitely not funny and gross and loud and caring, loyal, empathetic, understanding and always just one call away.

"You still think my father's friend is actually a woman he's banging?" I ask him, looking at my lunch. A sandwich, an apple and a chocolate mouse something.

"You know I don't want to hurt you, neither do I want to lie to you, so yes, I do think his old friend is a woman. It's been two years, Bills. Almost three. I know that seems unreal for you but it's kinda normal to fall in love again or to just want to bang. I want to bang. You want to bang. We are humans, we all want to bang."

I take a small carrot of Julien's plate and throw it in his face. "You pervert."

Julien gives me a big grin and stuffs two small carrots into his mouth. Another plate gets smashed onto the table next to to Julien, making me jump a little. Blake sits down next to Julien, his familiar grumpy expression well set. "I got banned from hockey for the next two weeks," he grumbles and Julien starts chuckling.

"Yeah no shit. You broke Chris's nose. I don't even understand why you're here at all," Blake's best friend tells him in a joking tone.

"You were cheering aftweards, Julien. And he deserved it." Blake raises his brows saying that, looking at me. His eyes piercing into my soul as if I would say something against that statement. I am pretty aware that Chris was doing the wrong thing but I still want to talk to him about it.

"Oh he sure did. Still. You shouldn't be surprised getting banned from hockey."

"Was still worth it."

...

"I should have known he's a dickhead. Blake had all rights to punch him like that. I should have been there, bashing him on my own," Kora argues, cleaning table 6. "I just can't believe he's such an asshole," she yells and throws the cloth onto the table.

"Maybe he didn't know any better though. I'm gonna wait til we talked until I jump to any conclusions," I tell her and take the cloth from the table to continue cleaning up.

We closed an hour ago and are cleaning up since. It was pretty busy today, all of the customers getting on my fucking nerves with all their complains and wishes.

"You better never say something like that again, Bills!" Elias yells from the kitchen. He already got out of his work clothes and is wearing a dark blue hoodie and a black pair of jeans. "Even if you didn't tell him to stop, he should have seen something was wrong."

I agree. Kinda.

I don't know when exactly I'm ready to have sex with someone again. It's not like I'm afraid of it in general. I believe I'd be ready as soon it's with the right person.

Maybe Chris just wasn't the right one.

"I agree with Elias," Kora says nodding. "And you better put that cloth down and get home. It's already pretty late and you have school tomorrow. You need your beauty sleep, Bills," she adds, stealing the cloth out of my hands.

I laugh and get the apron off my waist. Elias is already coming my way with my bag. He hands it to me. "Get home safe, Bills."

I nod and wave them before getting out of Jeff's.

"Don't even bother starting a discussion. I will carry you in this car and tape you to the seat if you say no to me driving you home," Blake greets me, his arms crossed in front of his chest. He's leaning on his car and smiles at me.

"I wasn't," I answer him.

"What a surprise."
