A week later...
"Why didn't my daughter in-law bring the new year in with us again?" Melissa pestered Sinn for the fourth time today.
Since meeting Korianna and the Simmons on Christmas his mom had asked about her everyday her and Mrs. Simmons hit it off fairly well too. Apparently Krishelle knew a few eligible bachelors she wanted to introduce Melissa too.
"Ma she's been packing and moving I didn't wanna get in the way she had to be out her old spot by today imma facetime her a lil later so she can show off the new one" he chuckled.
Sinn missed her as well but he had some business to tend to back home. He kissed his mom goodbye as he hopped in his range and sped to meet a relator.
After viewing 4 different locations Owen his relator had sold him on the last store front. Sinn couldn't wait to bring his vision to life and surprise his mom, girlfriend, and brothers with his new business endeavor.
He stopped by a local florist shop to grab his mom a new bouquet of flowers knowing it'd put a smile on her face. That was the thing about Sincere he was always intentional and attentive especially when it came to the women in his life.
Hating the fact he couldn't physically be there to help his girlfriend move he made sure she had some assistance and everything else she needed. Sinn smiled once he saw Kori texting him.

It was clear Kori missed him too they hadn't seen each other in a few days and he was fiending for another taste of her. He was so occupied texting her back that he didn't notice the guest sitting at his mothers dining room table.
"Ma I'm back!" he yelled assuming she was somewhere upstairs. It wasn't until he heard a voice clearing that he looked up with a natural mug.
"Hey Sincere longtime no see" the woman smiled "What the fuck are you doing here Toya" he gritted still mugging his ex girlfriend.
Latoya and Sincere had been together for over 2 years they were madly in love and living with each other. Sinn knew she was the one he wanted to spend his life with so he had purchased an engagement ring deciding it was time to stop playing house and do things the right way.
When he made it back to their home there was a hand written note stuck to the refrigerator This isn't gonna work. Sorry for leading you on-Toya what he initially took as a joke ended up being a reality he tried texting and calling her several times but the number was out of service.
He went as far as reaching out to her close friends and family members who unfortunately had no answers her mom Erica was just as shocked and disappointed as him. Ms. Roland just knew Toya and Sinn were meant for each other and she couldn't understand why her daughter would disappear without a trace.
Sincere was absolutely crushed as the realization that the woman he planned a life with didn't love or respect him enough to properly communicate whatever the issue was with him set in.
He hadn't seen her in over a year and now that he finally moved on here she was popping up on his mother.
"Sincere baby Latoya has something to tell you" Melissa hesitantly said noticing the angry mug on his face. He crossed his arms over his chest waiting for Toya to start talking.
"Look Sin I apol-"I'm not trynna hear that shit wassup" he wanted her to get straight to the point.
The tension in the room was thick Melissa could be heard cooing over something from the living room. Sinn figured it was the bouquet of flowers he purchased.
Latoya gulped and let out a shaky breathe "You have every reason to be upset with me. But I came to tell you-" The sound of a baby crying interrupted her confession and before she could get up Melissa walked in with a baby boy in her arms.
With a voice full of hesitation she finally spoke up "Sincere meet Saint...our son".
He couldn't help but scoff as he snatched his car keys rushing towards the front door
"Sincere Amar Knight!" his mother shouted after him but he wouldn't stop he couldn't. His world was complicated enough searching for Ricardo, moving weight, attempting to start a legit business while keeping Korianna happy and safe simultaneously was a full time job there was no room for an ex and maybe baby.
The lights of his empty shop flickered as he entered, the silence amplifying the chaos in his mind. Ignoring the persistent buzzing of his phone, Sincere tried to drown out the conflicting thoughts.
He couldn't bring himself to respond to Kori, the woman he loved and sought to protect from the storm that threatened to overtake him. FUCK! he screamed aloud.
A few hours later he returned to his mothers home seeing Latoya and her child still there much to his dismay.
"Sincere oh my God where'd you go? I was so worried can you please just sit down" his mother pleaded he silently sat down in fear he'd say something disrespectful.
"The most logical thing would be to get a DNA test ASAP no disrespect Latoya honey but you just popped up with a child after a year" Melissa voiced her concerns staring the girl dead in the eyes.
Latoya acknowledged the skepticism in the room "None taken mama Knight we can do the test whenever and again I'm sorry for taking off I had no idea I was already pregnant until a month later. I know ya pissed Sinn but don't take it out on Saint he's innocent and I refuse to deprive him of his father."
A snicker unintentionally left the mans mouth "How old is he? You been gone all this time why come back now?" he asked not believing a word she spoke.
"He's almost 3 months and I came back now because my living situation wasn't ideal for a newborn"
Sinn didn't utter another word as he watched the girl gather her purse and Saints car seat. Melissa nudged him a silent reminder to handle the situation with care. He reluctantly carried a sleeping Saint to Toya's car, securing the infant in the back seat
"We can do the paternity test tomorrow before I head back out of town" he suggested & Latoya agreed
"I truly am sorry Sinn" she said just above a whisper before pulling off.
Melissa was still sitting at the kitchen table when he entered "Make sure you call Kori I didn't say anything I'll leave that up to you goodnight baby" she kissed his cheek before heading upstairs for bed.
The last thing he wanted to do was pretend to be ok but he knew Korianna would stay up all night worrying if he didn't check in. When the Facetime connected he smiled small at her in bed pouting with her bonnet on.
"I'm sorry ma I woke you up?" yawning and shaking her head no she sat up in her bed and turned her lamp on. "Thank you for everything baby I love the layout and you really paid my rent for the year?" she asked in disbelief.
"You welcome and of course I didn't want you stressing about bills when I say I got you I mean it" he responded. Kori's contagious smile began to rub off on him as they stared at each other grinning from ear to ear.
"I love you Sincere" she spoke genuinely
"I love you more Suga send me some pics of the place so I can show ma in the morning I know it's late so I'll call you later ok" she nodded and promised to send some pictures before disconnecting the call.
Sinn ended the night replaying the days events it was times like this that he wished his own father was still alive as he yearned for his guidance. With a heavy heart, Sincere surrendered to the embrace of sleep, bracing himself for whatever tomorrow might bring.
