We flew about the villages.
My grandfather then flies up to me.
"Maleficent has shown you the outer point of each and every village but not the entire area" he states.
"There is the desert fae homes but behind it, is an actual desert. Their natural habitat, if you will"
Now I did notice the dry sandy area behind it.
"I see it now" I realise. He chuckles before pointing to my right.
"You've seen the jungle fae pouch homes but if you look down you can actually see their jungle. Where they spend most of their time" he states.
I then look down and notice the little birds flying about and how their pouches were connected to long trees.
Flying forward, he then points to the tundra fae homes.
"If you look closely, you can see the snowy area. Almost like antartica back on Earth" he states. I nod in response.
"Now to our next destination, behind hometree is our own lovely forest that I'm sure you'll enjoy. It's where I spent most of my days as a child" He smiles at me.
Flying past hometree, I realised that our family were the only forest fae.
"How come we're the only forest fae?" I ask him. "We're the only royalty" he replies. "Ohh" I nod understandingly.
We land on our feet, before the forest that had long trees and gorgeous plants.
They begin walking, adults first as Gia and Shrike come to my side.
"I'm guessing your father is a jungle fae?" I turn to Shrike and she nods.
"I live with my mother and you guys though, since my father is no longer alive" she states.
I look to her before bringing her into a hug.
"I never really had a father, so I can understand how you must feel" I whisper. "Me too" Gia joins in.
Gia's father had died years ago, I just never knew the cause.
We broke from the hug and continued walking after the adults.
"You know, since you're meeting family today then you must know that.." Shrike trails off.
"I must know what?" I ask.
"I have a twin sister. But she-"
"Did she die?" I gasp.
"No, she's very much alive. I think"
"You think?"
"There was a time when Zafrina went to the human world to go visit their jungles. The Amazon to be exact. I wanted to come with her but was caught up here at home. She went and never came back. The aunts, mom and I flew down to look for her in the amazons and found her. She was a vampire and lost all sense of fae in her. She told us she couldn't come back. Senna forced her into that life. We tried to rescue her, and she wanted to be rescued but Senna used her vampire army against us and gave me this scar" she says this all with a straight face.
(A/N: Came up with this idea when I saw that Judith Shekoni played both Shrike and Zafrina, in Breaking Dawn part 2)
I turn to the scar across her eye and wince.
"They did that?" I frown as she nods in response.
"But why did they need Zafrina?" I ask.
"Senna was lonely" Shrike sneers. I noticed the anger that fills her when she says Senna's name.
"But she had her army, how would she feel lonl- oh" I realise.
"Senna wanted a mate" Shrike nods.
"That's fucked up. Zafrina isn't her true mate, is she?" I ask and she shakes her head.
When I get back to Earth I'ma give that Senna a piece of my mind.
"I know what you're thinking Izzy and no, you're not going to give Senna a piece of your mind" Gia reprimands me.
"How'd you know?" I smirk and she shakes her head with a chuckle.
"I appreciate it cousin but it's too dangerous for you to go out there on your own" Shrike tells me.
"I'll get my mates with me, I'm sure they'll help. I mean how strong can those amazon freaks be" I scoff.
The girls both give me a look.
"Okay strong, but my mates and I are stronger. I'm sure of it" I state. "There's a 50/50 chance that we can get Zafrina back"
"Then we can communicate with our ancestors and release that vampire energy from her body and maybe bring her normal self back" I shrug.
"Maybe" Shrike sighs.
We then stop and the adults turn to us as we fly over.
"How our hunting systems work is that the tundra fae hunt for fish, the jungle fae hunt for birds and collect fruits, the desert fae collect water from their cactai and we hunt for land animals and collect wood" Grandfather tells me.
"The only animal you can't hunt is the great deer that roams around the southern part of our forest. You'll see the difference" Gran tells me.
"The dragon lives on the north which is on your right" Auntie Nyx adds.
"The animals that we will be hunting today are deer, wolves and grizzly bears" Grandfather announces.
"Follow us" He flies, not so high, just a few inches off of the ground. The rest of us following.
We find a herd of deers and crouch behind a bush.
"When hunting you must be smart and vigilant, watch your prey, don't let them get out of your sight" Gran instructs.
"Don't we need weapons?" I whisper over to Auntie Nyx, not looking away from the deers.
"Not a fae, watch this" she tells me and I see a vine move before it chokes the deer until it drops dead.
She then disappears and so does the deer, and after a short while, she was back at my side with the dead deer in her arms.
"The key to masking yourself and your scent is to just do it like your wings and magic, think of it happening and it does" Auntie Nyx tells me.
Gran hands her a woven sack and she places the deer inside.
"Let's move on while your aunts get more" Gran says as we fly about towards the wolf den.
There were so many of these animals and I just knew there'd be a lot of wolves. The way wolf mamas reproduce is crazyyy.
I smile at the sight of pups with their moms as the fathers guarded the den.
We went for the fathers.
Shrike went for the first one and snapped it's neck.
As the others were distracted by the death of their pack mate, I took it as my chance and made a dark cloud which made them confused before tackling one of them.
"Iris!" My grandmother shouts for me.
I pay no mind and proceed to snap the animal's neck before looking to the others.
They were all about to pounce but I masked myself and the dead animal before flying over to my family.
Shrike had gotten the animal too.
"That was fun" I smile at them.
They sigh and chuckle out of relief. I place the animal in the sack as Shrike and Gia go for more.
That leaves me and my grandparents for the bears.
I flew ahead but stopped when I heard a growl.
Time to hunt Emmett. Damn, I miss them so much.
The quicker I finish my training, the quicker I can see them.
"How many do you want?" I ask them.
"Bears can be very tricky Iris, are you certain of your decision?" My grandfather asks me.
"These bears don't got nothing on me" I smile. "I got this" I walk backwards intentionally.
They nod before flying up in a tree to watch.
I continue to walk backwards, keeping my guard up. I stop when I hear snarl and turn to face the bear before me.
I smirk down at it and as it tries to attack me, I fly up and flop down on it's back, riding it like a bull.
"Woohoo!" I yell as my grandparents chuckle. The rest of the family comes too and watches the show.
I then to a handstand on it's back before kicking it's head down causing it to flip over onto it's back.
I smile down at it before using my magic to bring down a long vine.
I squeeze it around it's neck as it whimpers and begins to choke.
"Sorry" I say sympathetically before snapping it's neck and watching as all life leaves it's eyes.
I kneel down before the dead animal and caress it's fur.
"We'll get the rest" Gran tells me as she and grandpa hunt some others.
Bears just reminded me too much of Emmett and deers of Jasper, those being his favourite animal.
The wolves of course reminded me of Sam, Paul and Jared. Miss those idiots.
But I also love it here, this place is amazing. It's home, where my family is.. but so is Earth, where my lovers and friends are.
"You'll see them again" Mom tells me as she sits down beside me.
"Once your training's over. You and Faye can go back BUT I want you to visit at least once a week. Sleepovers, lots of em" she adds which makes me chuckle and nod in response as she kisses my forehead.
Oh how I've longed for a mother.
Too bad I'll never have a father. Oh well, Phil can go rot in hell. He's part of the reason that that accident happened and I forgot all about my fae life.
They finished hunting the grizzlies and we dragged them by the limbs and flew them to the main point where fires were being started as some villagers gathered around.
"Time to meet your great grandmother" My mom tells me as we walk over to a woman sittng in a wooden chair, by a fire.
Throughout the day, I asked about my great grandmother and they told me that she had been sick for years and was on the verge of dying.
They also told me that she refused to die until Zafrina and I came back.
That's when I knew I had to get my cousin back.
"Grandmother" My mom whispers.
The woman turns to us and you could tell that she was ill and it made my heart ache.

"Iris" she says in a weak voice that makes me wince. I walk over to her and she brings me into a hug.
"Is Zafrina back too?" She asks me.
"No, it's only me" I reply and she sighs. Her wings were grey instead of black and feathers were falling off.
Her horns curled and she just didn't look healthy. It scared me.
"How did this happen?" I ask my mom, I was on the verge of tears. I just met her and she seemed to be slipping away from me.
"She... fought humans awhile back and took a shot to the side and to her limbs, her system is failing but her magic is fighting back" Mom sighs and looks down.
"A shot to the side?" I gasp.
"Iron, our weakness" Mom nods. "Iron burns fairies"
"Oh my god" I gasp.
"Find Zafrina Iris, bring her home" My great grandmother says weakly.
"I'll do everything I can, I promise" I vow to her as tears roll down my cheeks.
She then lets out a deep cough and my mom and I both wince.
"We gotta go" Mom says.
"Goodbye great grandmother" I hold her hand. "Goodbye my sweet, sweet Izzy" she pats my hand before looking back into the fire.
I stand up and walk towards my mother.
"Has it always been that bad?" I ask her.
She shakes her head. "When you were a child, she was better than this. She could actually stand without needing help"
"Aren't her wounds healed?" I furrow my brows. "They have been, for years, but she.. she's only weakened. And unfortunately there's nothing we can do" Mom sighs, she looked on the verge of tears too.
I wrap my arms around her torso and she throws an arm over my shoulder, kissing my forehead as we continue walking.
