𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐀 𝐆𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐒 𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝐀𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐄𝐋𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐄 𝐓𝐎 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐊𝐒 𝐒𝐈𝐆𝐍 as they enter the town, nostalgia washing over her. As they ran through the forest she felt the wet grass against her feet. She could feel lingering water droplets dripping off of the wet tree leaves.

She missed her home.

Jane couldn't help but glance back at her, worried. Not worried about Cora, but she knew that her being back here in Forks could change things. That's why Jane tried to keep her away. She hoped that Cordelia would forget about her past life and coven but she knew Cora wasn't willing to let go.

Cora loved the Cullens. She loved them more than anything in this entire world. They'd supported her through everything and helped her to manage through this wildfire of a life. But if they died when the army attacked... Jane couldn't help but smirk at that idea.

Cora inhaled the air, newborn scent filling her nostrils. They were nearing the fight. As they continued to run, Cora was abruptly stopped as she ran into someone's arm. Cora was confused as to who stopped her when suddenly arms are around her neck. Panic sets in. Of course, this newborn was stronger than her. He could kill her instantly.

The hands on her neck loosen and screams can be heard as the vampire twitches on the floor, Jane's gift ripping through him like scissors rip through paper. The screaming ceases and as the newborn looks up, he makes eye contact with Miss Jane Volturi who stares him down with nothing less than hatred in her eyes.

"And who are you? Who created you?" She demands, squinting down at him. Fear enveloping him as he slowly backs away, not answering.
"Fine. Since you don't want to... cooperate." Jane grabs his head, using her gift so he feels the maximum amount of pain before snapping it off of his shoulders.
A devilish smirk appears on her lips as she tosses the head and body to Felix.
"Bring it." She orders Felix before glancing over at Cora.

"Stay close."

They travel closer to the battle and soon enough, the five of them are walking through the forest at human speed.
They wanted a dramatic entrance.
"Do you guys always want dramatic entrances?" Cora mumbles, gripping her dress so it doesn't drag.
Demetri chuckles before speaking.
"Yes. It's rather funny." Jane hushes the duo as they exit the tree line, the Cullens standing next to a burning pile of bodies. They watch as Felix makes his way over, dropping the decapitated head and body into the fire before bringing their attention back to... Jane.

Edward blinks, looking behind Jane to see Cora. He grins as they make eye contact.
Cora goes to walk over when she sees Jane staring her down, telling her to wait. So she does. They all remove their hoods like some creepy cult and Edward can't help but snicker at Cora's thoughts.

"Impressive. I've never seen a coven escape an assault of this magnitude intact." Jane breaks the loud silence, glaring at each of them.
"We were lucky." Carlisle states, glancing over at Cora and offering a small smile. She was happy that her family was alive but she could smell a faint wolf stench in the air.

Luck? The newborns got shredded. Cora snickers, ignoring the pointed look that Alec was giving her.
"I doubt that." Cora rolls her eyes. Why were they even here? It seemed as though this was just... meaningless conversation.

"It seems we've missed an entertaining fight." Alec voices, a sly smirk on his lips.
"Yes... It's not often we're rendered unnecessary."
"If you'd have arrived a half hour ago you would've fulfilled your purpose." Cora lets her thoughts drift back to the newborn who halted their journey.
"There was a situation. Pity." Cora can feel Jane glaring at her as she speaks.

Cordelia seems to zone out, horror striking her as she sees the newborn girl writhing on the floor. She had looked so innocent and scared, like a lost puppy. Cora knew Jane would kill the newborn no matter how much she had begged. Quickly putting her gift to use, she numbs the girl. The effect of Jane's gift slowly fading from the newborns body. Cora feels Jane's eyes on her, glaring. But as Felix starts to approach the young girl, Cora can't help but plead.

"Jane, don't." Cora whispers, their eyes connecting. She could see Jane contemplating in her head before a smirk tugs at her lips. Then she heard the screams as Felix tore the girls head from her body.
Cora let her eyes fall shut, allowing a moment of silence.

The guard turns to leave, only stopping once realizing Cora hadn't moved.
"Cordelia." Jane speaks, causing the girl to open her eyes and shake her head.
"I'm staying, for now."
"No." Jane mutters, grabbing her arm and speeding her to a more private area of the woods.
It's just the two of them, staring each other down beneath the trees.

"Why? We were finally starting to... get along." Jane whispers, pain evident in her tone. Cora lets out an uneeded breath, taking Jane's hand within her own.
"I know something, a secret. If I stay with you, I will be killed. You have to trust me." Jane shakes her head, not believing a word she's spitting out.
"No, you'll be safe. What's the secret? I can help you—" She's cut off as a cold hand places itself upon her cheek, calm radiating through her body.

Cora lets her hand caress Jane's smooth skin, smiling softly.
"You can't help. If you know about it you'd be destined to the same fate. You have to let me go, for now. I'll call you and send you gifts. I'll write you beautiful letters when I have the chance. If I stay, I will be executed and I'd never forgive myself for dying as soon as I found the person I'd been waiting for." Silence follows as they stare into each others eyes. The world seemed to stop for a brief moment. Jane didn't want her to leave. She knew Cora would contact her but she would miss the little stupid arguments that they had. She'd miss the way Cora's nose scrunched up when she was in deep thought. She'd miss the small moments. The couple hadn't been accepting towards each other for a while but they were starting to grow closer.

In Jane's heart, she knew that Cora had to leave. But she didn't want her to.

Cora would miss Jane's giggles. She'd miss as they'd walk through the castle, pointing out various pieces of art and discussing it. She'd miss Jane.

But it was time for them to separate. At least for a little bit.

"When you get to the castle, bring Margaret to Aro and let him read her. He'll kill her. Once that happens you'll realize how serious this situation is."
Jane slowly removes Cora's hand from her face, her gaze on the floor as she does so.
"I know."

"Goodbye, Jane. I promise we will see each other again." Slowly, Cora grabs Jane's hands, causing her to make eye contact with the vegetarian.
There was a look in Jane's eyes. Sorrow, sadness, fear, pain. Her sadistic mask had fallen for a brief moment, allowing Cora to see who she truly was. Jane was just a lost girl. She was bullied as a child and burned alive. She went through immense pain, mentally and physically. Cora had wondered when she'd meet her mate. She counted down the days. But Jane was much older and had probably been counting down the days until she'd meet her mate for centuries before Cora was even born.

Cordelia didn't realize it, but they were perfect  together. They complimented each other perfectly. They were polar opposites. But opposites attract. Cordelia was the ice and Jane was the fire.
She saw that now.

Cora slowly started to lean in, placing a soft kiss to Jane's lips. Jane could taste Cora's peachy lipgloss against her own and it only made Jane want her more. They were made for each other. Their lips molded perfectly together. They were now complete.
Slowly, Jane pulled away, a small smile on her lips. Cora let out an unneeded breath, her eyes staring into her mates ruby irises.

"Goodbye, Cordelia."
