𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐔𝐃𝐈𝐀'𝐒 hands soothed over the creases of the waist area of her dress, a tactic she'd found to be exceedingly calming. her wedge covered feet, ignored the building mental anxiety, continuing the journey to the elevator.
she closed her eyes briefly when she rounded the corner in an attempt to calm her nerves at the evening she had ahead of her. whilst her eyes were closed for that brief moment she heard a sharp intake of breath...
eyes snapping open, she was met with an awe stricken lando norris, his body clad in a white shirt—a few top buttons undone—and some smart casual trousers. his eyes shifted repeatedly, taking jn the woman in front of him, almost making claudia herself faint under his intense gaze.
he blinked repeatedly snapping himself out of whatever haze he seemed to be submerged under, before giving her a broad grin, "beautiful." the single word had claudia shifted awkwardly, pink tinge rising and coating her cheeks.
she bared him a compliment back, watching as he gave her a wide content grin. the tension in her shoulders eased a little as their dynamic shifted from the previous clear nerves to complete serenity.
as the pair made their way into the elevator, claudia gave him a broad grin, her eyes purposely trailing over his shirt, "i like the unironed shirt, really adds to the look." lando playfully narrowed his eyes at her, shaking his head whilst gesturing a hand at her dress,
"what about the creases at the middle of your dress? we're practically matching." she gave him an exaggerated smile, before gesturing at her outfit herself, "would you believe me if i said that it's the style of the dress...and not that i couldn't figure out how to use the iron."
"you couldn't figure out how to use the iron?"
claudia's lips parted as lando let out a small laugh at her confession, "hey! you couldn't figure how to flush a toilet."
the elevator pinged, signalling the two had arrived at the ground floor—lando subtly took a step back allowing claudia to step out first with ease, before continuing the pairs conversation.
"your toilet is a fucking maze, why is the flush in the weirdest place and a weird looking button?"

claudia let out soft laugh, lando grinning at her softly as the pair sat at their table, their plates resting ok the table both with little to no food left on them. claudia leant back in her chair with a small sound of defeat, causing lando to laugh.
"full?"
claudia looked at him her eyebrows raised slightly, "full? i feel like i've been stuffed with those white fluffy things. are you not? what are you a wall?"
"some say i'm that strong, that im like a wall." claudia rolled her eyes as lando playfully gestured to his bicep, a cheeky grin apparent on his face. she narrowed her eyes at him, shaking her head with a small smile.
a brief content moment of silence settled between the two, claudia turning her gaze to the floor length window beside their table. her eyes scanned the scenery beside them, as lando continued to watch the side of her face, his mind going at 100mph.
he leant back on his chair his left hand encasing his right closed fist. "you up for taking a walk on the beach?"
claudia's eyes snapped to his, a soft smile taking over her expression, "you really know the way to a girls heart." taking that as an enthusiastic yes, lando grinned at her.
his chest tightened at the brightened of the smile she gave him in return. she was effortlessly gorgeous, and everytime she opened her mouth lando found himself a little dazed. he almost couldn't fathom the idea of being able to call her his girlfriend—but he hoped if everything went the way he wanted it too, he would be able to soon.

A FEW IMPORTANT THINGS:
ok for legal reasons, the sun is gonna set later than it actually did in november in brazil. even tho when i googled when the sun would set at around 6:30 ish during november, lets say the sun starts to set at near 9 ish
ALSO if you can't tell, this chapter is set before the instagram photo within the last chapter, the last chapter kind of gives a social media overview (minus the irl part) and a more general timeline of the day.
FINAL THING (MOST IMPORTANT) i don't know if this is bad or people will hate me for it, but i kind of want to make lando asking her to be his girlfriend anti-climactic. i don't think i can bring myself to write him asking her in a really like out there way, no speech, no "can i be your boyfriend" cause i don't really feel like he would ask like that, i think it just works better for both of them and claudia as a character IF he just does it ask really plainly and not like severely romantic. the date itself was romantic so i kind of want a really simple watered down like "the next race you coming to...may as-well be as my girlfriend" i kind of want a subtle hint vibe. but if majority wants the outright "will you be my girlfriend?" i'll do that, i'd just rather keep it quiet subtle, and a little bit of banter, but thought i'd speak about it with you as readers first.
