" well this is something I wasn't expecting to happen today " Aaralyn shifted as she got herself comfortable in the drivers seat of her car, she didn't plan on heading inside yet.
" it's definitely what I hoped was going to happen" Tom grinned cheekily, he had been planning to message Aaralyn all day, especially with a nudge from Harrison, he had wanted to FaceTime her and was praying that she would say yes. "Where you going?"
"I just pulled up back home actually, I was at a photoshoot, I've been there all day" Aaralyn sighed heavily after telling him, she was exhausted but she didn't want him to think he was being a burden.
"Sounds exhausting" Tom laid back against his pillows, sitting himself upright so she could still see him.
"Tell me about it. So, what have you been up to today? I'm sure your day was a lot more exciting than mine." Aaralyn set up her phone on the dashboard so she wasn't just showing the top of her head
"Well, I woke up, had a shower, got dressed, ate breakfast, met up with my manager and got told some exciting news-"
"Ooo! Anything you care to share with your dear friend over here." Aaralyn pestered, trying to get it out of him.
"I could, but I would get in trouble if it got out anywhere. So, if I tell you, you can't tell anyone." Tom told her, he had no idea why he was about to risk his job for a girl he barely knew but he couldn't help but smile at how excited she got. "So, it just got confirmed that I'm going to be playing Nathan Drake in the new Uncharted movie coming out."
"TOM! That's amazing, oh my god, congratulations!" Aaralyn pretty much screamed, her mouth was wide open as she congratulated the actor. "That's so huge, I bet you're so excited."
"Yeah, that's definitely the word for it. I'm nervous aswell, I guess. It's a huge role." Tom shrugged, starting to play with his fingers, clearly nervous.
"Tom. You act like you haven't played Spider-Man in three movies, I'm pretty sure that's as big as it gets in this world. You're an amazing actor, this should be easy for you and I'm sure you'll think that as soon as you start filming or get the script." Aaralyn assured him, clearly easing his nerves.
Tom couldn't help but blush at her telling him that he was an amazing actor, it was different hearing her say it, it was like he believed it ever more. "Thank you, Aaralyn, that's genuinely made me feel a lot better about it."
"Hey, I'm always here if you need some emotional support, I'm friends with Zendaya and Tori Louise, I'm pretty much a full ass therapist at this point." Aaralyn caused him to laugh. "I know it's hard, especially when you know there's so many people watching you, you're scared to disappoint, but I promise you that you won't, you just need to believe yourself that you wont screw it up."
"Damn, you ever thought about changing jobs." Tom laughed alongside Aaralyn. "I'm glad I told you know, you've made me feel a lot more confident about it. Thank you."
"It's okay, don't even worry about it."
"Thanks for writing that song about me, I'm grateful I'm terrible at flirting otherwise I doubt we'd be sat on FaceTime right now." Tom laughed shyly.
"Well, for one, I thought your flirting was pretty damn good, it got me a song out of it, so, I guess I'm eternally grateful for you." Aaralyn grinned, seeing how the man's cheeks grew a darker shade of red at her words. "I loved your singing by the way, of skin, have you ever thought about changing professions?"
"Oh, my god. You watched that?" Tom groaned loudly, shaking his head as he placed it in his hands out of embarrassment.
"Hey! Don't be embarrassed. You flattered me truly. Alongside calling me your celebrity crush." Aaralyn grinned.
"Yeah, I knew that one would come back to bite me in the arse." Tom laughed.
"Well, if it's any consolation, you're my celebrity crush too, if it's not obvious." Aaralyn laughed, beginning to flush at the man's cheeky smile, one she was growing to love.
"I guess we have some things to discover then, don't we."
"We certainly do."
