[Knocking on the door of Carousel Boutique and it was (Y/N) at the door]
(Y/N): Good day, Rarity.
Rarity: Pleasure to meet you, (Y/N).
(Y/N): I wanted to know if my outfit for the Gala is ready.
Rarity: Of course, darling. I finished yours since this morning with the finishing touches.
(Y/N): You made it simple, right?
Rarity: Sweetie, you know I don't do simple when it comes to royalty.
[Imagine it is this but for ponies]
(Y/N): Rarity... you have been ordered to make a simple clothes for me for the Gala and yet you make me a royal uniform and robe?
Rarity: [Nervous] Do you not like it?
(Y/N): [Serious] I don't like it... [Excited] I LOVE IT!
Rarity: You do?
(Y/N): I don't know how but you actually made me something like this!
Rarity: Thank you, darling. I wanted to conjure up something that fits your status and your sense of tradition into one marvelous outfit. I know you want me to make you a simple outfit, but there were so many ideas popping in my head, I couldn't resist.
(Y/N): It's okay, Rarity. I love it. I know you will make great dresses for the girls too. [Blushing] I would love to see what Twilight will be wearing.
Rarity: Do not worry, darling. With my expertise here, the girls and your Special Somepony will look marvelous.
(Y/N): Why do you call it "Special Somepony"?
Rarity: Sorry, it is something we here in Ponyville use instead of boyfriend.

Twilight: Oh, we were going to go see Rarity about our dresses for the Gala. What were you doing?

Rarity: Is there something I can help you with?
Twilight: Oh, so very sorry to trouble you, Rarity, but I need a quick favor. Could you please fix the button for me? It's my dress for the Grand Galloping Gala.
Rarity: [gasps] Oh, no, no, no! You can't wear this... old thing. You need a glamorous new outfit for the Gala and I'll make it for you. No problem at all. It will be my pleasure!
Twilight: Oh, that's really sweet of you to offer, Rarity, but I can't let you do that. It would be so much work. This dress is fine.
Rarity: Twilight Sparkle. I insist on making you a new dress.
Twilight: But...
Rarity: Not another word! I won't take no for an answer.
Twilight: Well, in that case... thank you for your generosity, Rarity. Knowing your handiwork, I'm sure it will be absolutely beautiful.
Rarity: Thank you very much.
Twilight: [Whispered] By the way, how does (Y/N)'s outfit look.
Rarity: [Whispered] It is fabulous. I was the most amazing outfit I made. But I can't say much, as it is a secret.
Twilight: [Frustrated but whispered] Why is it a secret?
Rarity: [Whispered] (Y/N) told me less than a week ago to keep the outfit a secret from everypony including you, as he wanted it to be a surprised when we depart to the Gala. He wanted it to be special on that day, not to cheapen it by showing it off before the Gala.
Twilight: [Blushing] He's doing this for me.
Rarity: He really is a wonderful stallion. You are lucky to have him.
Twilight: Thanks, Rarity.
Rarity: Let me guess, Applejack. You don't want a new gown either.
Applejack: Gown? Shoot. I was just gonna wear my old work duds.
Rarity: You can't possibly be serious, Applejack! You absolutely must wear formal attire.
Applejack: Hm... nah.
Rarity: What if I just spruce up your... duds for you a little bit?
Applejack: Um... okay, sure, why not? Since you're up for it and all. Just don't make them too... frou-frou-y.

[Rainbow crashes from the ceiling]

Rarity: I'll make one for you and you and all of you. Oh! And of course Pinkie and Fluttershy too. Oh, and when I'm done, we can hold our very own fashion show!
Twilight: What a great idea! If you're sure you can handle it.
Rarity: Oh, it'll be a little bit of work, but it will be a wonderful boost for my business. Plus, fun!
Rainbow Dash: Oh, I love fun things!
Rarity: Then it's settled. We'll have a fashion show starring us!
Twilight, Applejack, and Rainbow Dash: [Yay! Yeah!]
Applejack: So all you have to do is make a different, stunning, original, amazing outfit for one, two, three, four, five-plus yourself-six ponies? And lickety split?
Rarity: Oh, Applejack. You make it sound as if it's going to be hard.
[Meanwhile at Sugarcube Corner]
Fluttershy: I'm here. [Nervous] Sorry I'm late.
Twilight: It's alright, Fluttershy. We are here because we are waiting for Rarity to finish up with our dresses.
Rainbow Dash: Yeah. She made it sound like it is going to be really cool. I hope she made mine cool.
Pinkie Pie: I hope she made mine look super sweet and fun looking!
Applejack: Hope it was simple 'n isn't too frou-frou-y.
Twilight: I hope mine is dressed as the stars at night.
[The door to Sugarcube Corner opens and it is (Y/N)]
(Y/N): I'm here.
Twilight: (Y/N).
(Y/N): What are you all doing here?
Twilight: We are waiting for our dresses to finish?
(Y/N): What?? Rarity is taking too much. She just finished mine this morning... really early. And now she is making all of your dresses?
Applejack: She didn't sound like she is tired and Rarity said she is okay with it.
(Y/N): We should probably go to the Boutique anyway, to see if she is okay or if she finished her dress.
Mane 6: Good idea.
[The entire gang arrived at Carousel Boutique and Rarity opened the door]
Rarity: Ooh... just in time. I was just about to find you all and pick you up. Come in and see my finest achievements.
[They all entered Rarity's Boutique]
Rarity: That's it. Keep them closed. Don't look. Okay, you can look now!
Main cast sans Rarity: [Gasp]
Rarity: These are your new outfits. What do you think of your old duds now, Applejack? Pretty swanky, are they not?
Rarity: And Twilight! I made this dress for you, and I designed each outfit theme to perfectly reflect each pony's unique personality.
Rarity: Oh, it took me forever to get the colors right on this one, Rainbow Dash, but I did it. Oh, and it turned out beautiful, don't you think?
Rarity: And I know you are going to love yours, Fluttershy. It just sings spring!
Rarity: And Pinkie Pie, look! Pink! Your favorite! Aren't they all amazing?
[Author's note: I actually like Opalescence in this episode as we were introduced to her, but she showed how much she personally liked the dresses alongside Rarity. And Opalescence will show another reaction that I love later]
[Pause]
(Y/N): They're all amazing! These dresses would be the main focus at the Gala. You would probably get ponies talking about your dresses.
Rarity: Quite the charmer, (Y/N)... but thank you. I appreciate your honesty. What about all of you? What do you think? Aren't they all amazing!?
(Y/N): Ain't that right, girls?
Twilight: Wow... they're...
Rainbow Dash: Yeah, they're...
Applejack: They sure are... somethin'.
Twilight: Yes! Something.
Pinkie Pie: I love something! Something is my favorite!
Fluttershy: It's... nice.
(Y/N): Huh?
Rarity: But what's the matter? Don't you like them?
(Y/N): Maybe they are speechless and are trying to get the right words
Twilight: They're very nice...
Applejack: And we're plumb grateful 'cause you worked so hard on them.
Rainbow Dash: Mine's just not as cool as I was imagining.
[Applejack and Twilight were glaring at Rainbow Dash over her comment]
Rainbow Dash: She asked.
Twilight: I guess what we're all saying is that they're just not what we had in mind.
Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy: [Yeah. Uh-huh.]
(Y/N): [Thinking] How can they be so ungrateful to Rarity after she worked the entire day making these dresses and even made my outfit for the Gala? These are the best dresses I have seen. What am I not seeing? Twilight... what are you trying to do here? The dress is just perfect.
(Y/N): Girls. Rarity put her heart and soul into these dresses. You shoul--
[The girls were feeling a little guilty until Rarity interrupted him]
Rarity: That's okay. Not a problem. There's plenty more where that came from. They were only a first pass. You're my friends and I want you to be one hundred and ten percent satisfied. Not to worry, I'll redo them.
(Y/N): Rarity, you shouldn't.
Fluttershy: Oh, Rarity. You don't have to do that. They're fine.
Rarity: I want them to be better than just fine. I want you to think they're absolutely perfect.
Applejack: Are you sure? I mean, we wouldn't wanna impose.
Rarity: Oh, it's no imposition. Really, I insist.
(Y/N): Rarity, it is.
Rarity: Shush, you.
Twilight: Well, in that case... thank you again, Rarity.
[All of the girls except Rarity left and (Y/N) remains at the Boutique]
Rarity: [Strained laughter] What have I gotten myself into?
(Y/N): You involved yourself with making their dresses, but it is not going to pretty for you.
Rarity: I know, but I can't let them down. They deserve to be happy with whatever dress they want.
(Y/N): Rarity... if you want to take my wisdom to heart, you can't satisfy everyone. And when you try to, they will want more. I'll be off.
[(Y/N) leaves the Boutique]
Rarity: What if he's right? Maybe I can't satisfy them. But I have to try. They are my friends and I don't wish to disappoint them.
[The following day]
Fluttershy: Hello? You wanted to see me, Rarity?
Rarity: Fluttershy! Your new-new gown's ready. I completely revised it and I know you're going to love it.
Rarity: What do you think?

[Inhales] the armscye's tight, the middy collar doesn't go with the shawl lapel, the hems are clearly machine-stitched, the pleats are uneven, the fabric looks like toile, you used a backstitch here when it clearly called for a topstitch or maybe a traditional blanket stitch, and the overdesign is reminiscent of prêt-à-porter and not true French haute couture. But, uh... you know... um, whatever you want to do is fine.
[Knocking on her door]
(Y/N): Rarity...
Rarity: (Y/N), you're here.
(Y/N): You should rest up. You have been working for days. I told you not to please them, it won't get you any real prizes.
Rarity: I really didn't, but I don't want to disappoint them. Anyway these are the dresses they asked me to make.
(Y/N): So these must be the-- [Looked at the second dresses and he was revolted by it] What is that!? I see abomination that should be burned to a crisp!
Rarity: Your words are far kinder than what I would say. But please don't... I want to make my friends content with what they want.
(Y/N): Can you explain to me what they did to make you design these... garbage?
[One explanation later]
Rarity: There you have it. I can't believe I made these. I just hope they are happy with it
(Y/N): If I lie to you about these dresses, I would throw up. [Feeling the urge to throw up] I think I still will. Excuse me. [Run to the nearest trash can and vomit into a trash can] I think I need to leave now, Rarity. Or else, I might do the impossible and lose weeks worth of meals.
Rarity: I understand.
(Y/N): I bid thee, farewell. [(Y/N) ran as far as he possibly can from the Boutique]
[Author note: I didn't see the dress yet onscreen, (Y/N). How horrible can they-- (Ran to the nearest trash can and vomit into it) Why would they suggest to make this monstrosity? It is funny, stupid, and so many things all at once. You know what... let the readers suffer too]
[The girls saw (Y/N) running]
Twilight: What was that about?
Mane 6 sans Twilight: [Shrug]
[The girls came to see Rarity's new dresses for them]
Rarity: Okay. I did exactly what each of you asked for. Now don't hold back. Let me know what you really think.
Twilight: Oh my!
Fluttershy: It's... perfect!
Rainbow Dash: It's cool!
Applejack: Why, they're the best duds I ever did see.
All sans Rarity: It's exactly what I asked for!
Rarity: [sighs]
Twilight: Thank you, Rarity.
Pinkie Pie: Are you as happy with them as we are? Huh? Huh? Huh?
Rarity: Well, I'm... happy that all of you are happy. I'm just relieved to finally be done.
[Door opens]
Spike: You are never gonna believe this! You've heard of Hoity Toity?
Twilight: The bigwig fashion hotshot in Canterlot?
Spike: Uh-huh. He heard about your fashion show. Well, maybe I happened to mention it to him... he's coming here all the way from Canterlot to see your work, Rarity!
Applejack: Whoa, Nelly! You could sell a ton o' dresses to this guy. Your business will be boomin'!
Twilight: Wow!
Rainbow Dash: That's so cool!
Pinkie Pie: I don't believe it!
Rarity: Hoity Toity? He's coming here? To see these dresses?
Spike: Yep! Get ready for all of your dreams to come true.
[In the evening, they are presenting a fashion show right at Rarity's Boutique]
(Y/N): What is going on here?
Hoity Toity: You must be the esteemed, Prince (Y/N). At your service [Bow]

Hoity Toity: Hoity Toity. Don't wear it out. I came here because a dragon mentioned one pony here has an exquisite taste for fashion and makes dresses.

[(Y/N) rush to Rarity's boutique]
(Y/N): [Concerned] Rarity, please tell me you are using the original dress for the fashion show.
Rarity: [Fidgeting] Well...
(Y/N): Rarity, I highly suggest this, I swear to the almight Moon, if you let your friends go out with these outfit, you will commit occupational suicide. I have to be with him, since he thinks I am the only thing tolerating his trip here.
[(Y/N) rushes back to Hoity Toity]
(Y/N): Apologies for the long depart.
Hoity Toity: Not a problem, your Majesty. You are an amusing pony which makes me tolerate this trip.
(Y/N): [Thinking] I hate it when I am always right. My manners are actually quite good. I should thank Twi for this. I am actually able to struck up a conversation with these high class ponies.
[Music playing]
(Y/N): The music is playing. The show must be starting.
Hoity Toity: Let's see what we have here.

Hoity Toity: Oh, those amateurish designs look like a piled-on mishmash of everything but the kitchen sink!

(Y/N): Sorry girls, but even I find these dresses atrocious. [Throws up at a small trash can he brought]
[The girls are all embarrassed]
Hoity Toity: His Majesty is right. It's a travesty is what it is. Those outfits are the ugliest things I've ever seen, oh for shame! Who is responsible for subjecting our eyes to these horrors? Not to mention wasting my valuable time.
Rarity: Oh! [to Opal] Hide me.
(Y/N): Sir Toity, I think we should give the Mare a break. It may not be what she wanted to show us.
Hoity Toity: Nonsense. If she made outstanding dresses, then why not demonstrate it to the world, instead of objectifying us to this... [Disgust] display.
(Y/N): [Thinking] I have warned her. I can't stop him from thinking and speaking his mind. No matter what influences I have, I cannot save Rarity from this. Hopefully, she doesn't show to save face.
Spike: Come on out and take a bow, Rarity. You worked really hard for this.
[Rarity decides to show up on stage]
(Y/N): [Thinking] Spike! [Sigh] I should tell him about situational awareness. This is worse than showing the dresses.
Spike: Yes! All right, woo-hoo! Go, Rarity!
(Y/N): [Facepalm]
[Few days later]
[Author's note: I am making extra scene where we see the development of what has happened between the girls and (Y/N) throughout the few days while Rarity is having her mental breakdown]
[The girls decides to knock on (Y/N)'s front door]
(Y/N): What is it girls?
Twilight: We came to see if you managed to convince Rarity to leave.
(Y/N): No. Have each of you tried?
Mane 6: No.
(Y/N): Bummer.
Rainbow Dash: Why weren't you at Rarity's side when it happened?
(Y/N): I have been on Rarity's side. I have always been on her side.
Rainbow Dash: Then why weren't you when that Hoity Toity guy berated Rarity?
(Y/N): Rainbow Dash. I can't control his thoughts and words as even my thoughts are the same. We actually talked after the show and we became friends.
Rainbow Dash: Do you have any idea how much it hurts her feelings when you spoke about her dresses?
(Y/N): Rarity thought the same about her dresses. She thought it was horrible. Honestly, she hated it more than I ever could.
Applejack: You could have done something about it.
(Y/N): I told Rarity not to do it. I told her not to go along with you girls. I told her not to display the horrible dresses but she did. She did all of that.
Rainbow Dash: You should have tried harder!
(Y/N): I would have gladly burn the dresses, but I knew Rarity would hate me for it.
Rainbow Dash: You didn't try because you didn't care about her as we do.
(Y/N): [Frustrated] Rainbow Dash, hold your tongue.
Twilight: Rainbow Dash.
Rainbow Dash: You aren't a good friend since all you've been doing is care about yourself and not sticking with Rarity!
Twilight: Rainbow! [To (Y/N)] Rainbow didn't mean that (Y/N).
(Y/N): [Angry] You really think I don't care about Rarity. What about you? All you did was complained to her about how the clothes aren't cool! I was at Rarity's side when I saw the original dresses when you decided to care for yourself!
Rainbow Dash [Looks down from the realization]
(Y/N): Applejack. I know you don't like the elegance and high class dresses, but even so, it is a Gala, not a farm. If you want to impress ponies over there with your goals for the farm, you need to impress them by look. It's not shallow, as everypony subconsciously makes impressions over their looks, as we remember what happened with Zecora.
Applejack: [Guilty] I'm still sorry about that.
(Y/N): I already forgive you. [To Pinkie] Pinkie... sometimes less is better than more as the dress was too much even for me. I know you want to be happy with the dress, but Rarity was less happy making your dress as was all of the others.
Pinkie Pie: [Sad but understands]
(Y/N): Fluttershy. I know you were trying to make a dress that seem to attune to your love of nature and animals, but it turned out to be silly and not taken seriously. I know you have some knowledge about fashion, but Rarity has been studying this her whole life for this.
Fluttershy: [Look down] You're right, big brother. I'm sorry
(Y/N): [Pat Fluttershy's head] It's okay. [Staring at Twilight]
Twilight: [Nervous that her boyfriend will say something]
(Y/N): I expected better from you. You are an astute intellectual, Twi. You should know criticism is needed in this world, but being overly critical is not a good thing. The dresses she originally made for you was fantastic. There was no criticism over it. But the other dress is full of criticism. It may seem overly critical, but all of it is warranted.
Twilight: [Embarrassed] You're right.
(Y/N): And to all of you. When I was with Hoity Toity, he simply invited me to watch the show with him. I ran to Rarity begging her to not show it, but it was too late. After the show was over, I was speaking to Hoity Toity to stay for a while longer to observe Ponyville. I can't keep him on his busy schedule, just because I am a Prince. I was hoping Rarity would be convinced to do it again, but apparently not.
[The Mane 6 felt really guilty as they knew he was telling the truth]
(Y/N): I'll be leaving as I have to set Hoity Toity off.
[(Y/N) leaves the Mane 6 to see Hoity Toity off]
Twilight: Girls... (Y/N) is right. We have been uncaring to Rarity when she has worked so hard to make our dresses.
Fluttershy: We were selfish in wanting our dress, when Rarity already made us our dresses.
Rainbow Dash: And we did make her job difficult for her.
Pinkie Pie: And made her unhappy.
Applejack: And I don't think she had much break or even sleep.
Twilight: Let's go to Rarity and fast. Maybe we can fix this if we work together.
Mane 6 sans Twilight: Yeah!

[The Mane 6 enters Rarity's home and went upstairs]
Pinkie Pie: Rarity? You okay in there? You haven't come out for days.
Rarity: I'm never coming out! I can't show my face in Ponyville ever again! I used to be somepony. I used to be respected. I made dresses. Beautiful, beautiful dresses! But now everypony is laughing at me. I'm nothing but a laughing stock! [Sobs]
Twilight: You're not a laughing stock, Rarity...
Rainbow Dash: She kind of is.
Twilight: Shhh! Come on out and talk to us.
Rarity: [Sobbing] Leave me alone! I vant to be alone! I want to wallow in... whatever it is that ponies are supposed to wallow in! Do ponies wallow in pity? Oh, listen to me, I don't even know what I'm supposed to wallow in! I'm so pathetic!
Twilight: Now what do we do?
Fluttershy: Uh... panic?
Rainbow Dash: That's your answer for everything!
Applejack: Well, we can't just leave Rarity like this.
Pinkie Pie: She'll become a crazy cat lady!

[Meanwhile back to sobbing Rarity]
Rarity: Exile... I guess technically I'd have to move away to live in exile. Where would I go? And what would I pack? Oh, it's going to take me forever to do all of that packing. What are you supposed to pack when you go to exile? Are you supposed to pack warm?
Opalescence: [meowing]
Rarity: Huh? Opal?
Opalescence: [meowing]
Rarity: Opal, how did you get up there? Hang on, you poor dear! Mama's coming!
[Door opens]
Rarity: [Gasp] Rainbow Dash?! How dare you strand my poor Opal in a tree?
Rainbow Dash: Well, how else were we gonna get you out here to show you this?

Twilight: Like we should have let you do for our outfits. Those first dresses you designed were perfect. It took (Y/N) for us to realize that we put you through so much to make the first dresses... and the second one.
Pinkie Pie: We're so super sorry.
Rainbow Dash: You worked really hard to make our dresses exactly the way we wanted them. We all saw how well that turned out.
Rarity: Oh, I forgive you.
Applejack: Well, that's mighty big of you.
Rarity: But my whole career is still ruined!
Applejack: Oh, right. That.

[Meanwhile with (Y/N) and Hoity Toity]
(Y/N): And here are your belongings [Dropped it on the train station for Hoity Toity to wait for a train]
Hoity Toity: Please, your Majesty, I insisted you let someone else help out. I honestly do not want one of your stature to assist me.
(Y/N): Don't think of me as royalty here. Think of me as a friend.
Hoity Toity: Friend? You are quite an interesting one.
(Y/N): [Smiling] I wish you reconsider. My friend, Rarity, actually has wonderful dresses that weren't anything like those... [Disgust] I don't want to call them clothes.
Hoity Toity: I am a busy man and I really need to hurry or else, my schedule will be out of whack.
[The Mane 6 sans Rarity ran/flew near the Train Station]

Hoity Toity: I say. What in Equestria is going on here?
Twilight: We insist you give Rarity one more chance... to show you her dresses.
Hoity Toity: Who might you be?
(Y/N): That's Twilight Sparkles. She's my girlfriend
Hoity Toity: Girlfriend? Pleasure to meet you, Ms. Sparkles.
Twilight: Thank you.
Hoity Toity: [Remembered] Say, aren't you that pony that was on that show with that horrid dress?
Twilight: [Embarrassed] Yes
Hoity Toity: Friend, I suggest you find another girlfriend if she think that dress was okay to wear.
(Y/N): [Laughing] She made one big mistake, but she is irreplaceable. She is also a wonderful Mare and a student of Princess Celestia.
Twilight: [Blushing]
Hoity Toity: Dear Celestia, you picked a wonderful pony if she is a student of the Princess herself.
(Y/N): Anyways, my girlfriend is right. You should watch her show.
Hoity Toity: I have a busy schedule. I don't think I can cover it.

This week, my very talented friend Rarity learned that if you try to please everypony, you often times end up pleasing nopony, especially yourself. And I learned this: when somepony offers to do you a favor, like making you a beautiful dress, you shouldn't be overly critical of something generously given to you. In other words, you shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth. [Giggles]
Hoity Toity: Rarity, my congratulations to you on a most impressive fashion debut. Would you do me the great honor of allowing me to feature your couture in my Best of the Best Boutique in Canterlot?
Rarity: [Gasp]
Hoity Toity: Now, I'll need you to make a dozen of each dress for me by next Tuesday.
Rarity: [Strained laugh]
Hoity Toity: I'll be heading out to Canterlot.
(Y/N): I'll take you there. Twi and I are considering visiting Canterlot soon.
Hoity Toity: If you ever find me in Canterlot, don't be a stranger.
