(POV Theo)
I start shaking everyone awake, it's prime time to leave as the things are in their vegetative state
'How are you feeling?" I ask
'Great" Ben says giving me a thumbs up
He'd been beaten pretty badly so I'm almost sure he can't see properly and most of his face is swollen as well
'Hm" I reply unconvinced and peek out from behind the benches
'We need to leave" I say standing up
They all look exhausted and worn out but I know if we don't leave now then we'll all die
'I'll stay in front, if Oliver and Alec could help Ben the everyone else behind them"
I'm shocked at my own words...I'm taking charge? Since when was I made leader?
'Who died and made you leader?" Niki snarls shoving past me
'Someone has to...." I say biting my tongue
'So why does it have to be you?"
'Niki....just shut up for once" Nat snaps walking straight up to him
'What's it to you?" He replies
'Are we really doing this right now? You're fucking kidding me....there are people dying right now all over this place and we're still alive...we shouldn't be fighting each other...we have to get along if we want to survive this thing" Melia says making everyone go quiet
'We're heading towards the mountains...don't follow me if you don't wanna come" I snap at him as I walk ahead
I can hear footsteps behind as the others follow then I quickly glance back to see him dragging his feet at the back while Layla clings onto him like a magnet
Ever since this girl appeared it's like Niki is the only person she sees, she hasn't uttered a word to any of the rest of us and have to say I'm glad...every time I hear that girl speak it annoys me....majorly annoys me
Maybe it's because she's so oblivious to the real world...or the fact that she's an ex cult member but something tells me she won't be with us for much longer
'Feels like we're walking in circles...." Oliver says walking alongside me
I glance back to see he's left Alec to carry Ben alone
I was about to argue when I have to admit he's right...we've come across this forested area before and I've no idea where we're going
'Look, not to pry but I do know the way to the mountains...." KJ interrupts
I nod at him to take lead although I hear the sighs from the back...no suprise from who
We walk and walk and walk until we have to rest,but because the area we're in is sort of deserted we have to walk further to find somewhere to crash
As this point we're stumbling and limping our way...to the point where no one is speaking at all until eventually..
'There...we'll crash there" KJ says pointing to a mall up ahead
'But-"
'We'll be able to get supplies there too" he continues and I reluctantly agree
We get to the blood stained doors passing by crashed cars and bodies everywhere
'Jesus" I hear from behind
KJ goes first opening the door slowly the ushers the rest of us in quickly and I make sure Lana stays close to the middle then I close the door
We're at the bottom floor so we cautiously look above us and around us staying close together
'Okay I think-" Kj is about to say when suddenly I hear the sounds of loaded guns and I look up to see pairs of eyes staring down at us
They point their guns at us and I signal everyone to crouch down so we all raise our hands and crouch down
I glance up again to see them conferring, they're all wearing protective gear, most are wearing masks too
'What do we do? Do we make a run for it?" Niki whispers
'No...just stay put, they're like us" I say still unsure
They all suddenly turn to us again and then begin to walk down the stairs towards us
They immediately point their guns at us all and suddenly we're surrounded
'Are any of you b-" one starts to ask
'Ben?" One says quickly taking off his mask to reveal an all too familiar face
'Quinn" Ben says almost choking on the word
He runs towards him hugging him tightly then Ben creases in pain
'Oh my god...what happened to you?" He asks holding his face
'Not too close now" Dan warns walking over too
Everyone else quickly takes off their makes walking closer to us too
'Oh my god...Lia is that you?" Carlos cries out
She stands up and runs towards him crying
And suddenly a whole reunion takes place, we stand up from our crouched position and everyone comes together
I look around seeing group hugs and crying faces and I feel somewhat at ease then I turn and in front of me I see a tearful face I haven't seen in a while
'Hey..." Caleb says
'Hey.." I say awkwardly
He pulls me into a hug unexpectedly but I don't try and pull away, I've been waiting for this for way too long
I can start to feel tears well up in my eyes...am I crying? No...I can't be
He starts rambling and I can't help but notice a pair of eyes on us
Levi glances over and stares at us...I pull away slightly then look at Caleb again
