The duo entered the cafe and the gang's head shot towards them. Kyungjun groaned and stood up to his feet. He approached the duo and pushed Dabum to the back, now face-to-face with Eunhee. He stared at her with annoyance as she only glared at him. Dabum headed towards the table which sat Seungbin and Jinha.

"Now what do you think you're doing?"

Eunhee shrugged, obviously unfazed. Kyungjun scoffed.

"Leave, now."

"No."

Kyungjun's smirk dropped.

"If I leave, how would I know you and your goons won't do anything stupid to Dabum, hm? And if you dare do anything, I can just tell everyone that you're hiding the cafe from them."

She smirked, holding her phone infront of his face. He chuckled and clenched his teeth.

"Damn it. You're a fucking jerk."

He turned behind and headed back to the table, sitting in the position he was in previously. Jinha walked back from the microwave and handed Dabum a ramyeon. Eunhee stood by the drinks with her hands in her pockets, admiring the wide variety of selections.

"You love this sesame-seed-flavoured ramyeon."

Jinha said as he leaned his hand on Dabum's shoulder. Eunhee glanced towards the group.

"Right, thank you."

Seungbin laughed before turning towards Kyungjun, who was deeply concentrating on his phone.

"The ramyeon preference is the only thing we have in common."

"Then do you have a different preference in music?"

Jinha suggested. He took Dabum's headphone off his head and placed it on Seungbin's head. He immediately pulled the headphones out of his head and shoved it back to Jinha.

"Darn you, do have a death wish? Don't shove that perverted music on me."

"Okay chill, I won't."

Jinha tossed the headphone on Dabum's lap in which he caught it. He inspected his gadget for any damages before sliding it onto his neck again.

"Nerd."

Kyungjun called out.

"You're the game expert, is this an existing game?"

He held his phone infront of Dabum. He glanced around for a short while.

"No, it's my first time seeing it too."

Kyungjun sighed, retreating his arm.

"But I'm not a nerd."

Eunhee could see his hesitation in saying it, but Dabum spat it out anyways. Eunhee sighed and selected a drink from the cold shelf. She stood back and took a seat at the table behind.

"Okay, sorry."

Kyungjun apologised, clearly sounding insincere.

"So what should we do to win this game?"

"It's the same as playing the Mafia game."

Dabum answered. Eunhee looked towards the gang, who fixed their gaze on Dabum. He glanced at the group.

"Haven't you played it before?"

"You don't think I know that, you punk?"

Kyungjun retorted, causing Dabum to look slightly humiliated.

"Everyone's identity are not revealed until they die. You have to find out who your opponents are. Doctors and Police are on Citizen's side. The team that wipes out the other team will win."

"Gosh darn it. It'll take forever to find the Mafia."

Seungbin complained. He looked up towards Dabum and opened his mouth again.

"Hey, why don't we just kill off random people? Then the game will end."

"You said you were a citizen too, we can just get rid of the Mafia. Why kill off other people?"

Jinha argued.

"It said we had to wipe out the other team, you idiot."

"Why do you want to kill off people on your team too? You can't even follow through with it, stop acting tough. You were super scared when you saw the kids dying."

"You jerk, I was never scared."

The duo argued.

"Come on, shut your mouth."

Kyungjun said sternly to the duo, who immediately stopped talking.

"Choi Juwon, he was the Mafia. Why did he die?"

Kyungjun questioned Dabum who was fidgeting nervously. Eunhee narrowed her eyes at his odd behaviour.

"I don't know why he died either."

Eunhee could sense that Kyungjun was suspecting Dabum, and so was she. Dabum could see that the two was looking at him with an unsettling look.

"The rule said that the Mafia had to execute someone. I don't know what happened, but maybe, the Mafia had a good reason to kill Juwon instead of a Citizen."

"What if a Citizen were to kill a Mafia? Is that allowed?"

However, his question was left unanswered as everyone only looked at him with a blank stare. Dabum soon broke the silence, answering Seungbin's question.

"That wasn't in the rules, so I'm not sure."

Everyone remained silent, the gang still deciding on their move. Jinha eyes lit up, indicating that he had an idea. Eunhee prepare herself to listen to what impractical thought Jinha had in mind.

"Instead of playing this game, let's find all the Mafia and gather them in one place. Then we should make them kill each other."

"That's a great idea."

Seungbin voiced, supporting Jinha's idea.

"Right? That's an awesome idea!"

The duo stood up from their seats and enthusiastically collided their palms together.

"Gosh, you bastards. Your idea is awful."

Eunhee spat at the duo, causing the four boys at the table to turn towards her.

"Do you think that'll work? What makes you think that the Mafia would come out and admit it, huh?"

Kyungjun couldn't help but agree.

"She's right, the Mafia won't turn themselves in that easily."

Seungbin clicked his tongue and picked his phone up. The group continued to sit in silence, the only sound being emitted from Kyungjun fidgeting with his lighter. Eunhee looked at the ground, contemplating if she was going to return his windbreaker at that moment. After all, she is still wearing it.

Dabum looked towards Jinha.

"Can I.."

Jinha immediately pulled out a pair of chopsticks and placed it into the cup noodle. Eunhee watched the gang suspiciously, they always bullied Dabum. Why are they only treating him nicely now? But her thoughts were soon answered when she spotted Jinha sliding Dabum's phone towards Kyungjun.

Dabum could only watch as Kyungjun inspected his phone.

"What are you doing?"

"I need to check whether you're on my side or not before having a meal with you."

"What are you talking about? Give me my phone back!"

Dabum shot up from his seat and attempted to snatch his phone out of the boy's grip. Jinha immediately pulled Dabum back. Seungbin stood up and threw a punch on Dabum's stomach. Dabum clutched his stomach, grunted in pain. Eunhee shot up from her position and pushed Seungbin back.

"Yah! What's your problem?"

She scolded. She bent down to held Dabum up but was soon pulled back by Seungbin. He shoved her towards the shelf behind them. Eunhee immediately tumbled onto the shelf, her back hitting the shelf with a thud. She groaned as she tried to support herself up, but a sharp pain immediately rushed through her back and she fell back down.

She looked up and saw Seungbin holding onto Dabum's neck tightly. She saw Dabum's head getting slapped by Seungbin. Dabum clutched the back of his neck snd stood up.

"Give me my phone back now."

Eunhee slowly stood up on her feet, using the shelf as support.

"Wait, I'm not done checking yet."

He fought back.

"Check what?"

"If I can vote with someone else's phone, it means I can give all the votes on the person I want."

Kyungjun diverted his gaze towards Dabum and gave him sly smirk. Jinha and Seungbin shared a look before attacking Dabum and throwing him onto the ground. Eunhee immediately sprung into action and tried to pull one of the boys off of Dabum, but it quickly backfired as Seungbin held her back.

She was promptly pinned onto the floor. She tried to fight back, but Seungbin's grip on her only fastened. Her head looked towards Kyungjun. She watched as he kicked a chair to the side, and approached Dabum, who was also pinned down by Jinha.

"Hey. Pick one, I'll vote for that person."

"No."

Dabum said, standing his ground.

"Then it'll be you."

"What? No, don't do that."

Dabum pleaded. Kyungjun ignored his pleas and began to vote on Dabum's phone.

"Don't! Stop it!"

Eunhee pleaded. She could see the resistance in Kyungjun's actions, but he ignored her too and pressed on Dabum's name. Dabum's pleas filled the silent room as Eunhee tried to kick her way out. She sees Kyungjun click on something but his expression immediately turned into disappointment.

"I guess you can't vote on someone else's phone."

Kyungjun sighed. He looked towards Dabum and smirked. He clicked on something again before bending down. He aggressively pulled Dabum's finger, and slowly brought it towards his screen. He clicked it and immediately looked at it.

"It won't work."

He announced again. He threw the phone towards Dabum before looking back towards the table Eunhee previously sat at. He picked up her phone and looked towards the girl.

"You jerk, put it back down!"

Kyungjun had a playful smirk planted on his face. She knew he had a plan, but she wasn't sure what it was. However, Eunhee was saved when her brother burst through the door with the others behind him.

"Hey! That's enough!"

Junhee marched towards Seungbin and pulled him off his sister. He immediately helped her up and saw that she looked weak. Eunhee was passed to Hyunho who held her.

"What on earth are you doing? What's your deal?!"

Junhee reprimanded. Yoonseo and Jungwon helped Dabum up.

"Three on two innocent guys? Aren't y'all ashamed of yourselves?"

Hyunho spoke up. Eunhee clutched onto his jacket, her back not being able to support her due to the throw and Seungbin's weight being pressed on her as she was pinned on the ground. Kyungjun shot up and pulled Dabum by his tie.

"Where do you think you're going?"

Junhee immediately grabbed Kyungjun's collar.

"Stop it. Come with me, I have something to say."

"Why do I have to listen to you?"

He shoved Junhee towards the side. Eunhee gasped and ran to him, catching him before his body can make contact with the ground. Hyunho stepped forward and pushed Kyungjun.

"Hey!"

The duo shared challenging looks before Hyunho supported Eunhee out, trailing behind Dabum and Yoonseo. Eunhee heard shuffling at the back before hearing an object getting picked up. Her head shot back and saw Kyungjun pick up a box of M&Ms.

She gasped and pushed Hyunho aside, avoiding the object being thrown at them. She looked towards the gang with widened eyes, disappointment being seen in her eyes.

"You're not the boss of me, get it?"

Hyunho scoffed and picked up a can of Pringles.

"I guess, I need to teach you a lesson."

The rest watched as punches were thrown everywhere. Kyungjun and the other two attacked Hyunho, but it was clear Hyunho was stronger as he managed to overpower the two. He was even seen throwing Jinha towards a counter effortlessly. Junhee pulled Yoonseo and his sister back, not wanting to get in the mess.

She couldn't process what was happening as she watched the four boys fight. Jinha and Seungbin sat out, watching as Hyunho and Kyungjun fought. Hyunho easily picked Kyungjun up and threw him onto the ground. He sat on top of him and began to choke Kyungjun. Eunhee didn't intervene as she knew Hyunho wouldn't kill Kyungjun.

"Let go of me. I said let go, you prick!"

He yelled as he attempted to push Hyunho's hand off his neck.

"Are you going to listen? Are you going to do as I say?"

Kyungjun struggled.

"I get it, jerk!"

Hyunho patted his neck and slapped him towards the side. He crossed over Kyungjun and dusted his hands and headed towards the others. Eunhee eyes Kyungjun who was getting up.

"You okay?"

Eunhee asked Hyunho, he replied by putting a reassuring hand on her shoulder. They smiled and began to walk out. But she heard a stationary being moved behind, and so she looked. To her horror, she saw Kyungjun approaching the group with a scissors in his hand. His arm raised, but Eunhee immediately stopped it, the scissors a few inches away from her face.

"Hey! Will you stop it for goodness sake?!"

Eunhee scolded as she began to push Kyungjun by his chest. She was growing frustrated with his childish and arrogant behaviour. She could see his gaze softened, and he halted. They stood a few feet away, and shared gazes.

"Should I tell the other kids what you just did? What do you think they'd say?"

She inquired, furrowing her eyebrows as tears began to well up.

"Come to your senses!"

She pushed him by his arm, yet he didn't retaliate. She was soon pulled back by her brother.

"What's the point of talking to him."

Junhee reassured as he glared towards the boy. Jungwon was about to argue, but Eunhee beat her to it.

"If we vote now, everyone else will vote after us. What do you say? Do you want me to press your name?"

Kyungjun slowly approached her but she pushed him back. She grabbed his hand which held the scissors and looked into his eyes.

"Drop this now. I won't tell the others if you drop this now. Stop it for fucks' sake. Why are you always so childish?"

He pulled his hand out of her grip and threw the scissors to the ground. Eunhee sighed. She slowly slipped Kyungjun's windbreaker off her and approached him. She folded it and held it infront of him. Their eyes met for a brief moment before he looked down. She could see that he didn't wanna take it back, so she placed it on the table instead.

"We're all going to gather in the assembly hall. You should come too."

Yoonseo announced. He looked back up towards Eunhee, who was currently back facing him. She slowly limped away towards the group, Junhee held his hand out to support his sister.

"Leave the cafe door open for the others to use."

Hyunho demanded. He soon followed the others out. She could hear from a distance; Kyungjun kicking a chair, possibly in frustration and anger.

⋇⋆✦⋆⋇

Everyone soon gathered at the assembly hall. Junhee stood by the front, about to address his classmates. The five of them: Jungwon, Yoonseo, Junhee, Eunhee and Hyunho stood together. Eunhee crossed her arms as she fixed her eyes on the ground, avoiding any eye contact with her classmates.

"I gathered all of you here.. not to decide whom we should vote for, but to give up on voting."

"Are you sure about that?"

Someone yelled out.

"If we vote, one person is guaranteed to die. But if we don't, we'll all survive."

"What if we agreed not to vote, but someone votes in secret?"

Mina, who questioned Junhee, came forward. Eunhee watched as she slowly approached her brother.

"What are you going to do then?"

"She has a point, how am I going to trust you?"

Jisoo uttered, supporting Mina.

"We should trust each other. We can collect all of our phones, so no one can vote."

"He's right. If we collect our phones, no one can vote."

Eunha said, siding with Junhee instead. Eunhee and Eunha looked each other with a soft and approving smile.

"Who's going to collect the phones? The person in charge might change his or her mind."

Jisoo sounded, obviously skeptical of Junhee's idea. Eunhee rolled her eyes and let out a deep sigh.

"Then let's keep them in the center for everyone to see."

Eunhee defended, Jungwon continued.

"Yes, we can all watch together."

"What if someone steals it? I'm not doing it. I'm not handing in my phone."

Minha argued as she backed away into the crowd. Eunhee turned around, facing away from the others as she pinched the bridge of her nose.

"I think it's a good idea, let's hand in our phones."

Jisoo looked towards her boyfriend with a disapproving gaze.

"Are you crazy?"

She watched as another duo argued over the idea. The two pair of classmates continued arguing within themselves before being interrupted by someone Eunhee didn't expect.

"Oh be quiet. The class president is actually making sense for once. Why won't y'all cooperate?"

Kyungjun complained to the crowd as he approached Junhee with a yellow bucket. He slammed it to the floor and looked at every one of his classmates.

"Hand in your phones, so no one can vote. Everyone make sure to hand in your phones."

He held his phone in the air and turned towards Hyunho and Eunhee.

"Listen to me when I'm being nice."

He gazed towards Eunhee and threw his phone into the bucket. He picked it up and held it infront of Junhee. Her brother and Kyungjun exchanged gazes before he threw his own phone into the bucket. He went around the bucket in hand, and slowly, everyone handed their phones in. Soon, he reached Eunhee.

She took her phone out of her pocket and held it. She sighed and looked at him.

"Don't get any silly ideas."

She threw her phone into the bucket and watched it fell onto the pile of phones. Her screen facing down, showing her phonecase. She looked at it, it was a ordinary phonecase with a card slot. It held a polaroid of her with Junhee when the school semester had just began. She watched as it slowly disappeared from her sight, as Kyungjun walked away.

He placed it in the middle of the hall, the bright yellow bucket being in clear view of everyone.

⋇⋆✦⋆⋇

Eunhee waited nervously as she stood with Eunha, Eunchan and Yeonwoo. They nervously tapped their finger on their chin as they continuously glanced at the clock and the bucket. The clicking of the clock echoed through the uneasy atmosphere. Growing tired, the four decided to take a seat on the ground.

Eunhee sat closely beside Eunha as the duo held each other's hand. Eunhee closed her eyes, slowly growing weary. Eunha glanced towards the clock.

4 minutes left.

She nibbled on her dried and chappy lips, impatiently waiting for the clock to strike midnight. Everyone's head immediately shot up, as the purge alarm blared, before the innocent voice of the lady spoke once again.

"A minute left to vote."

Eunhee sighed, as she tightened her grip on Eunha's hand. She stared forward, not breaking her gaze with the yellow bucket. Her eyes moved slightly towards the right, and she sees Kyungjun sitting on the bench, looking down worriedly.

"Darn it. Hey, class president, are you sure we're okay?"

The bleached boy with the buzz cut exasperated. Everyone's gaze shifted towards the distraction.

"Let's just wait, it's not midnight yet."

Junhee reminded the frustrated boy. Eunhee sighed, running her free hand through her silky and long hair. Eunha intertwined her arm with Eunhee's as her eyes darted around the room. She looked back up to the clock, and it immediately struck midnight. She closed her eyes, ready for what fate might bring her, and her classmates.

"Hey. Hey, hey! It's past midnight, but there's no announcement. Did it.. Did it work?"

Wooram exclaimed. The class slowly stood on their feets as they stared at the clock, some glancing towards the speakers, waiting for an announcement.

"Are we okay now?"

Eunhee looked towards Somi. She noticed Seungbin and Jinha embracing each other. Soon, the class erupted cheers, thinking that they have outsmarted the game rules. Eunha immediately embraced her friend into a hug, Eunchan and Yeonwoo soon joining in. Eunhee smiled warmly, but she couldn't help but feel apprehensive.

She looked towards her brother who warmly embraced Yoonseo. Junhee's eyes met with his sister's and they exhanged a tender grin. Alas, the regular purge alarm, again blared. The four stopped hugging, slowly pulling away from each other. They shared fretful glances and looked up. Everyone immediately stopped their actions, following the four.

"Participants must vote and identify the Mafia."

The innocent voice, announced. Suddenly, phones started to vibrate as an alarm rang. A siren could be heard wailing within through the pile of phones. One of their classmates abruptly stood up and ran towards the rope surrounding the bucket.

"Yah! What are you doing?"

"What else? What if we do nothing and die? Are you going to take responsibility?"

"She's right."

Mina defended her friend, before approaching the circle. She was about to take a step into it, but Junhee stopped her from doing so.

"Wait, we don't know yet."

"Don't know what? The game didn't end."

Jooyoung argued.

"What if we die listening to you? Are you going to be responsible?"

Mina continued. The trio shared disapproving glances before they were interjected by Somi.

"Yah, stop blaming Junhee and calm down."

The tension in the air was heavy, students wanted to grab their phones, but the others disagreed. Eunhee was initially skeptical of his idea firstly, but trusted that her brother knew what he was doing. Mina turned, about to return to her spot, but a body immediately fell onto the ground with a thud that didn't go unnoticed.

Students screamed, as Mina and Jooyoung fell to the ground. Eunha and Eunhee did too, holding each other's arm. She stared at the scene, in disbelief. Her free hand immediately slapped her mouth, trying to hold in any scream.

"For breaking the rules, Lee Soo-Bin and Park Ji-Hoon will be executed."

Soobin slowly stood on her feet, blood slowly pouring down her cheeks, eyes fully white as their pupils disappeared. As she
stood up, blood continuously poured down everywhere. Soobin barely even taking step, a body immediately fell on top. Eunhee immediately screamed.

She slowly shook her head, taking in the event that happened before her. Everyone watched as Jihoon's lifeless body laid above Soobin's. Her grip tightened on Eunha's arm as the duo only could look with a glassy stare. The alarm blared, but Eunhee chose to ignore it as tears pricked in her eyes.

Jinha immediately dashed towards the bucket, prompting others to follow his action. Eunhee stood but fell to her knees, watching as the mess unfolds before her. Eunha noticed, and quickly helped her up, Eunchan assisting the duo. Yeonwoo ran and attempted to find the group's phone.

"For breaking the rules, Oh Jin-Seok will be executed."

As everyone frantically searched for their respective devices, the bucket was thrown into the air, causing phones to spill out in the process. Without a second to spare, the lights were cut, everyone now stuck in darkness. Red, blinding lights began to flicker throughout the hall. Eunhee immediately lunged herself towards the phones, sobbing as she made an effort to see through the tears welling up in her eyes.

Phones after phones, yet hers was out of sight. She grew exhausted, as tears continuously poured as gave up. She only stayed on her knees as she looked at the chaos. Students frantically searched through the mess. She sobbed, hysterically. But Eunhee stopped when she sees a phone sliding towards her. It was Junhee's. Without thinking, she immediately slid it into her pocket and attempted to find Yoonseo's instead of hers.

Despite the red lights flickering disrupting her view, she managed to find Yoonseo'. She snatched it and ran to the duo. She immediately held it out for Yoonseo and Junhee. But her brother refused to take it. Out of frustration, she aggressively grabbed his collar and shook him.

"Kim Junhee! Get yourself together and vote, hurry up!"

He was still paralysed but Yoonseo grabbed his hand with pleading eyes, tears pouring out. Junhee looked at the desperate duo and grabbed his phone out of his sister's hand. The trio shared glances before speaking.

"Junhee, vote for me. Then I'll vote for you too."

He nodded and they voted.

"Kim Jun-Hee voted for Lee Yoon-Seo."

"Lee Yoon-Seo voted for Kim Jun-Hee."

Junhee looked towards his sister and realized she didn't have her phone.

"Fuck."

She darted towards the chaos and flipped through the phones again. Her phone should've been the easiest to find, yet it was difficult. Suddenly, there was a firm grip on her wrist, and she was pulled up. A phone was shoved into her hands. She looked up through teary eyes and it was met with Kyungjun.

"Hurry up and vote! We'll vote for each other."

She nodded and quickly turned her phone on and entered the Mafia app. She clicked on Kyungjun's name and so did he.

"Kim Eun-Hee voted for Koh Kyung-Jun."

"Koh Kyung-Jun voted for Kim Eun-Hee."

She rubbed her teary eyes and muttered a soft thank you to Kyungjun, in return, he wiped away her tears. The duo shared a quick smile and she walked back to her brother. Eunhee sighed with relief. But her eyes immediately widened when the announcement read out a familiar name.

"For breaking the rules, Jang Hyun-Ho will be executed."

She looked back towards Hyunho. He stood up and screamed in pain. Eunhee gasped and ran across the hall, making her way towards Hyunho. She immediately grabbed his arms and shook him, but it was too late. He started to walk away from her, and she tried to stop him. She stood infront of him and pushed him back.

"Hyunho-ah! Stop your bullshit!"

But she was abruptly pushed towards the side and onto the metal bars. She watched in horror as Hyunho walked away. Nahee limped towards Hyunho, but was also pushed to the ground. Eunhee walked towards Nahee and held her in her arms. The horrifying screams of Nahee filled the hall as the duo watched Hyunho walked towards a narrow hallway.

"Hyunho-ah!"

The injured girl continued yelling in between sobs. Eunhee couldn't help but let the tears fall once again. She brought Nahee's head to her chest and comforted her. In return, she clutched onto the girl's vest as she continuously sobbed into her chest. A thud was heard and the wailing duo didn't look up.

"Jang Hyun-Ho was a Citizen."

The flickering light soon halted, and the original light returned. The silent hall was now fileld by the sobs of Nahee and Eunhee. Junhee watched as his sister sobbed hysterically because of him. He couldn't help but blame himself. If he hadn't suggested giving our phones in, this wouldn't have happened.

"Voting is over. Baek Eun-Ha with the most vote, 10, will be executed. Baek Eun-Ha was a Citizen."

Her eyes widened. Firstly Hyunho, and now Eunha? She watched as her friend stood up and approached her classmates, defending herself. She could only watch as her closest friend ran out of the gymnasium hall. She wanted to run after her, but she also didn't want to leave Nahee like this. She continued to sob. Soon, the lullaby started to play and it rang through everyone's ears. Eunhee and Nahee immediately fell to their sides with a thud.

"Night has come."
