San Antonio, Texas, October 2023

When Paul told her she was supposed to perform for Smackdown, Sylwia was a little bit disappointed; Raw looked like a better option, but if the company thought it was better that way, she couldn't do much about it. Truth to be told, she was most sorry for not seeing as much as before her Imperium besties.

Plus, they promised her a something on Smackdown. Something shiny, something important.

While waiting to enter the ring, the blonde Polish woman carefully watched the title match between Iyo Sky and Charlotte Flair. Not long after, Bianca approached her. "You good?" The American woman asked her. "It's almost time to go."

"I'm good. What about you?" The blonde fixed her jacket as she got up. It was now only a matter of minutes before going on stage.

"I'm good." Bianca nodded, copying her action. "Ready to return to action." She smiled. "How does it feel to be really back?"

Sylwia couldn't help but smile at the woman. "Like heaven."

The two former champions walked to the gorilla, and just when Charlotte was attacked by Damage CTL, Bianca quickly looked at the Pole near her. "See you out there!" And then she rushed to help Charlotte, battling Iyo, Bayley and Dakota Kai.

After some minutes of confusing brawl, where Bianca seemed to have the upper hand, Sylwia stepped into the stage. "Enough!" She yelled, stopping the brawl, with all the women turning to look at her. "I'm tired of this Damage CTRL to be honest!" She made her way to the ring, stopping just in the middle of it. "Bayley, my old friend, you have no idea how much I waited to do this." The blonde smirked just to apply on the American wrestler a super kick just under the chin. It was Sylwia's first time in action in three years, and she had to admit that it was very satisfying.

As a result of a new brawl, the championship belt laid down to the mat, the Polish woman, after performing a German Suplex on Iyo, smirked and couldn't help but grab it and look at it, as the whole arena started chanting her 'you've still got it'.

"Watch out!" Bianca yelled her, just in time for Sylwia to avoid an attack from Bayley. As response, Sylwia chopped her right on the chest.

People would have believed that might have been a face turn for the Pole, the first one in her career, but, just as Damage CTLR went into retreat, leaving only Charlotte, Bianca and Sylwia at the centre of the ring, and after Bianca cut her whole speech about a revenge match against Iyo, Sylwia attacked both her and Charlotte.

Once she was alone on the ring, Sylwia asked for a microphone, fixing her hair and catching her breath. "Of course I've still got it!" She yelled to the crowd. "Who do you think you're talking about? Last time I've checked I'm still a five times Women Champion!" She spoke. "Okay, let me tell you all one thing first, just to make clear: I quit this crap of women general manager! Want to know why? This division has been terrible since I left, and I couldn't stand anymore watching girls, who deserve only to be fired, getting opportunities! How did we come this far? Girls with no talent trying to break through this business just because they think they look pretty, breaking news: you are not! I will always be the hottest, the greatest." She looked around, people starting booing her, causing her to chuckle. "Apparently, there's a thing now about 'finishing our story', which is as ridiculous as whoever coined this nonsense, and this is probably why I have been drafted here, on Smackdown, in this pathetic city full of cows and cowboys, to finish my story?" She took a pause, rolling her blue eyes. "But I tell you, my story has already been completed, my story already crowned me as the greatest female superstar! What I can do now, is rewriting it, elevated to a whole another level and establish myself as all time greatest!" She smiled, looking over Bianca, Charlotte and the Damage CNTRL girls. "There was, however, a last thing I did as general manager. See you at Crown Jewel bitches, mamusia jest gotowa odebrać to, co jej!"

Sylwia throw her microphone away as her song started to play and Smackdown episode came to an end.

Was she risking with her comeback to fighting? Probably, but it was a risk she was more than willing to take.

September 2012

Stolen glances, short evening meetings in the gym, the tremendous desire to be close, Randy was risking it all with Sylwia.

His wedding came to a point of no return, where divorce was the only solution. It was not working, it hasn't been for a while, even before Sylwia came into the picture.

"It's the right thing to do."

Randy and his wife agreed.

On her side, since that kiss, Sylwia forced to keep some distance from the man, although it was quite impossible at times; but she managed to resist temptation.

Once was a mistake, twice was a habit; that was what she said.

The young Pole focused on her career, and she was very proud of how much she improved in just few months. From only performing at live events, to make her NXT debut just few days after her twenty-one birthday.

Being on a developmental brand, while Randy was an acclaimed superstar, most of the times on the road, made things easier; although not impossible.

It was late on September when Randy found himself finally alone, face to face, with Sylwia. Late at night, middle week, she was about to return home from a night out, he was passing by.

Some could call it destiny, they, instead, didn't know how to call it.

"What a pleasant surprise!" The man spoke, facing the blonde Pole outside one of the most glamorous clubs of Orlando. "Good evening, little girl."

Sylwia, who was surprised to see him alone at that hour of the night, cracked a little smile. "Good evening, Randy Orton." She looked a little awkward, being that close to the man. "Small world, innit?"

"I guess." Also Randy cracked a smile, shrugging and trying to act nonchalantly. Ever since that day, neither of them dared to mention the kiss; it would only make things more awkward. "Are you heading home?" He asked, causing the girl to nod. "May I offer you a drink first?"

Positive would have been the blonde's answer, but she knew it was not the right thing to do. "I should head back home." She said, trying to grab her phone in her purse. "Perhaps another time."

"Sylwia." Randy stated, causing her to look at him again. "Are you sure I can't convince you otherwise?" He asked again, a smirk on his face. He could tense her nervousness.

Trying to make up a good excuse, Sylwia's blue eyes landed on his hands, widening when not spotting his wedding ring. "Where's your ring?" She couldn't help but ask, looking straight into his blue eyes.

"You noticed it, then." Randy narrowed his eyebrows. "I couldn't wear a wedding ring when going through a divorce; it wouldn't make any sense." As he explained her, the girl's eyes widening a little more.

Divorce? Was he really divorcing? It couldn't be because of their kiss, it happened months ago and she was sure that for Randy it was not even relevant. "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that." The blonde said, but the more selfish side of her was anything but apologetic. "You know what? I think you could really need a drink!" Without even thinking, Sylwia grabbed his hand and pushed him inside the club, straightly marching towards the bar counter. "A good drink with good company! What else could lift moods?"

That sudden change in attitude on the girl's part made Randy smile. But that led his to think: was she being nice in a friendly way, or else? Because, again, he was very aware that a plain friendship was a something he couldn't have with her. "So does good company means an extremely beautiful looking blonde girl from Poland?" He teased, laying a hand on the curve of her back. Now that he was going through a divorce, Randy even felt less guilty about wanting her that bad.

Sylwia had her eyebrows narrowed at his comment. "Yes." She replied. "Listen, I may be just twenty one, and you may look at me like a kid, probably, but I'm very smart young woman!" She proudly said, recalling the bartender with a hand gesture. "You were there for me when I got in the business, now I'm here for you if you need to talk. In Poland we are very supportive people, so now talk, don't hold back." She spoke. "Plus, I'm way better and hotter company than your friend Cody. No offence."

"None taken." The man chuckled again, ordering a beer for him and letting the girl taking a fancier cocktail. They drank in silence for a while, even enjoying that comfortable silence, until Randy spoke. "I don't see you as a kid." He said, referring to what she previously said. "Thought it was clear since I kissed you."

Here, he finally said it. Both of them, mostly Sylwia, tried to avoid talking about that kiss for as long as they could, but eventually they knew they had to, and apparently that night was the right time to do it.

Or maybe not Sylwia thought. "How are you feeling, Randy?" She asked, placing down her now empty glass. "Do not even try to lie, I can kick your ass if you do."

Looking around, Randy got closer to the girl, leaning in so he could look at her better in her eyes. "I'm feeling better now that you're here."

The girl let out a nervous laugh, even trying to find some alcohol left in her glass. "Of course. But I'm being serious, dear Randy." She spoke. "Can't you see I'm trying to be a nice friend over here?"

"But, thing is, I don't want you as a friend." The man spoke softly, moving away some hair from her face. "Thought I made it clear already."

"Then what do you want me to be to you?"

Yeah, what did he want her to be? That was a good question. He liked her, a lot and not only physically, he liked all of her, but he couldn't just ignore the age gap, and the fact that they were in two different places of life, wanting and needing different things. What he did know, thou, was he did not want her to be a stranger, or just a flirt, he rated her too much and she deserved better than that.

"That's what I'm trying to figure it out."

She could feel his honesty in his response, still, that was not what she hoped to hear. But, what could she expect to hear? She might have been a little delusional, but at least she was a realist one. Sylwia knew Randy was not properly asking her out anytime soon, she knew he was not going to looking for something serious especially now that he was going through a divorce; and to not forget he was a father also.

Again, they were in two different times of their lives, it couldn't be that simple.

But Sylwia knew, instead, that she was not accepting her to be just a one night stand for him, she had so much self respect for that.

"Well, tonight you need Sylwia as a friend." The blonde stated, trying to not let him hear her disappointment. "And another drink."

This time Randy did not fight back and just listened to her advice. However, he noticed the look in her eyes after his response, which left him only more confused. The last thing he wanted was to hurt her, but he couldn't deceive her and tell her something which wasn't completely true. She did not deserve it.

Drink after drink, the man began to open up to the young woman, now sitting in a more isolated corner of the room so as not to be disturbed; he told her, now almost completely drunk, about how he hadn't worked out with his wife, about how many times they had tried to save something that had turned out to be unsalvageable.

Sylwia listened to him, remaining silent most of the time, while she placed a hand on his back, perhaps as a sign of closeness, perhaps of affection, or perhaps even of comfort, as if to tell him that he could count on her.

"And then there's you." Randy spoke, now completely drunk, as he leaned his head on the backrest. He looked at her, as if she was the most beautiful thing in the world in that moment. He saw how she widened her blue eyes, and he raised a hand only to place it on her cheek, caressing it sweetly. "I couldn't be completely sad about my failed marriage, if that means feeling less guilty about wanting you." He kept saying, looking straightly into her eyes. "But I don't know what to do with you."

At that, Sylwia let out a bitter laugh. "Yeah, I noticed it before." She couldn't help but comment. "You're drunk, Randy, I think we should call it a night, before you may say something else you'll regret tomorrow."

He didn't say anything else, he just nodded and let her help him getting on his feet, and walk him back to his car.

"Gimme your keys." She ordered, waiting for him to obey. "You can't drive in this pitiful and, luckily for you, I'm enough sober to drive."

"What about your car?" Randy asked, taking his time to find his keys in his pockets, only for realising then he was already holding them in his hand.

"I came here with a taxi." The Pole explained, now helping him getting in the car, without him hitting his head in the process. It was a hard job thou. "Because I planned to get waisted." She said after, closing his door and rushing to the driver seat. "Just tell me where your house is."

Clumsily, Randy turned on the navigation on the dashboard, even managing to quickly enter his home address. "I wouldn't trust myself to be a navigator too much right now."

Sylwia nodded, adjusting her seat and began to drive, following the direction the real navigator was telling her. Beside her, on the passenger seat, Randy put himself in a more comfortable position, closing his eyes and falling asleep. "Why did I have to get into this fucking mess?" Sylwia murmured to herself, in her mother language. "Fucking Randy Orton."

To her luck, she managed to arrive at their destination without being stopped by any police checkpoint. As said, she herself was not completely sober.

Looking at the man beside her, she took a deep breath and shook his shoulders, without caring much if the gesture was too violent and unkind. "Wake up, you idiot! I brought you home!"

Randy opened his eyes, a confusion expression on his face which turned into a big smile at the sight of the girl. "I should have been the one taking you home." He said, placing again a hand on her cheek. The way he was looking at her was so loving, sweet also. "Stay here tonight."

That last sentence stunned Sylwia. "I don't think it's a good idea." She replied, shaking her head and avoiding his gaze. "I don't look forward being your nightly stand." Without giving him time to counter, the blonde got out of the car and opened the door for him, helping him out again.

Once in front of the front door of the man's villa, Randy looked her straight in the eyes, placing a hand under her chin. "I may be drunk, but I'm serious when I say you'll never be just a one night stand for me." He spoke. "And if I don't know what to do with you is because you literally drive my crazy, Sylwia, so crazy that I am not able to think straight!" He confessed, getting closer to her body, his other hand placing on her hip. "And right now I know I only want to kiss you."

"Say this again tomorrow, when sober." The Pole replied, weakly smiling at him. They were certainly nice words from Randy, but he was still drunk, and Sylwia refused to have a drunken statement. "Go get some sleep now, Randy. I have to go home."

"Stay with me." He repeated again, placing his forehead on hers. "Please." Her lips so close to his, Randy couldn't help himself and kissed her.

To his luck, Sylwia kissed him back immediately, without even trying to push him away. They quickly deepened the kiss, both of them fighting for dominance, and soon that started as a make out session. When they stopped, searching for air, Randy looked at her and smiled again. "So, are you staying?"

"You're lucky it's late at night." She only replied, pushing his body away from hers. "Now open."

He did, both of them entering into his house. Randy grabbed her hand and led her upstairs, where his bedroom was. "Don't worry, I'm too drunk to do anything." He reassured her with a chuckle, sitting on the edge of his bed. Grabbing both her hands, he brought her closer to him, then circling her waist, looking at her enchanted. "I'm willing to risk everything for you, do you realise that?"

Sylwia took a deep breath, starting to play with his buzzcut. "As I said, tell me when you're sober."

"Drunk people speak truth, don't you know?"

"Who knows, Randy Orton, who knows."

Now it was her who pushed him on the bed, fixing her dress right after. "Now sleep."

"Bossy, I like that!" The man teased, getting up from his bed and heading to his bathroom. After washing his teeth and changing his clothes, he came back to his bedroom, where Sylwia was waiting for him with her arms crossed to her chest.

"Normally ladies go first." She pointed out sassily. "Anyway, where should I sleep, you genius?"

"Here." Randy replied in a duh tone, pointing at the empty place beside him on the bed. "I have some spare clothes in the bath, and a brand new toothbrush, still packet, if you need..."

"I always carry mine in a night out." The Pole replied, causing Randy to be confused. "You know where you leave, but never know where you wake up." She chuckled to herself before closing in the bathroom. She went out after a while, without makeup, her hair down and wearing one of Randy's t-shirt. "Luckily this doesn't stink!" She said, making him laugh. The girl laid down on the bed, turning her back on the man. "Yeah, well, what an interesting turn of events. Goodnight Randy, don't bother me while sleeping or daring to turn the lights off."

There was something about her lack of sweetness that Randy loved, and it also put him in a good mood. With a chuckle, the man circled her waist, his chest against her back, closing that distance. He left a kiss on her shoulder. "I was being serious, by the way. With everything I said."

Sylwia took a deep breath. "I'm trying to sleep, can't you see?" She said, slightly turning her head to face him. "Have fun dreaming of me, thou."

With one last chuckle, Randy smiled. "Goodnight, my favourite blonde."

If only they knew now that not all risks were made to be, if only they knew back then that some of those risks were just stupid, that it would only take them to a point where they barely spoke to each other.
