A year after the events of Gozer, the ghostbusters protected the village ever since. Catching all sorts of apparitions and vapors and locking them the containment grid. But time passed, and business got slow. Ghost sightings haven't been as frequent as they used to be, as if almost like they've caught every ghost in the village and they weren't needed anymore. But they still stick around today to be safe. Little did they know something was big was coming for the troll kingdom.
Down at the firehouse, Chenille was at her desk waiting boredly for the phone to ring. Since business has gotten slow, she just waits all day for the phone that sometimes never rings. "Why did I take this job again?" She asked herself. She started to fiddle with her fingers until suddenly the phone started ringing finally. "It's about time. Ghostbusters, please describe your apparition" She said answering the phone. "Yes hello, I was calling to see if the Ghostbusters were available to-" the caller was cut off by Chenille. "The Ghostbusters are always available, ma'am" She said.
"Right, so anyway, I'm Mavis. I wanted to see if I could get the Ghostbusters over for a special occasion" Mavis said. Chenille was a little confused about the question but listened in anyway.
A few minutes later, the four trolls slid down the fire pole and ran for the ecto 1. Branch got in the driver's seat and waited for the firehouse door to open. He stomped on the gas and sped off into the village. The ecto 1's sirens blared as it drove past pods and trees.
The vehicle soon approached at a pubic area and stopped. The trolls got out and strapped their proton packs. They looked over at the picnic area and saw that someone was having a birthday party. It didn't look like a ghost was terrorizing the place. A yellow female troll came over to them. "Oh your here, thank you for coming. I'm Mavis, I called earlier" She said. "Yes, we're here for the party. Who's the birthday trolling?" Guy asked smiling. Branch on the other hand gave a deadpan expression. "Are we seriously doing this?" He asked himself. "His name is Andrew. He's turning 11 today. Follow me" Mavis said, leading the way to the party.
They all came up to a DJ booth and saw a red troll plugging in all their plugs for the booth.
"Gentlemen, this is DJ Suki. She's here to provide the music" Mavis said, gesturing to DJ. "Hello, Ms. Suki, I'm Guy Diamond" Guy said, introducing himself. DJ stood up to greet them."Hey Guy, and the rest of you" DJ said, greeting them. "This is Biggie, that's Cooper, and that's Branch. Don't mind him he hasn't had his coffee" Guy said, chuckling. "That's not completely the reason" Branch said, turning his head. "We already did cake and gifts, so now we do the music. I was planning that you four make your entrance first and say hello and answer a few questions if they have any and stuff like that, and then Suki will play your theme song and we'll all sing along" Mavis said explaining.
"That sounds great, Mavis. We'll get prepared" Branch said. Biggie pulled out his P.K.E meter and started scanning. "Biggie, what are you doing?" Branch asked. "Just checking" Biggie said, putting the meter away.
A few minutes later, Mavis gathered the kids up toward the DJ booth to get things started. "Alright, kids, settle down. Now, before we play the music, I'm going to introduce you to some people who have come out here to celebrate my son, Andrew. Here are the Ghostbusters!" Mavis called out, gesturing to her right side. The four Ghostbusters came out and greeted the children. "Hey there, kids! How's everyone doing today" Branch asked out loud. "Is everybody ready to enjoy our 3 minute practiced performance" Biggie added. The kids were quiet for a moment, and then they started booing at them. "Oh, come on, kids, don't be like that. How about we sit down and we'll have fun!" Guy said, smiling.
A yellow trolling stood up and walked up to Guy. "Can I ask a question?" He asked. "Sure buddy, what's your question" Guy asked, kneeling down to his level. "Is it true that you guys are full of crap?" The trolling asked. "Excuse me?" Branch said. "Andrew! You do not talk like that" Mavis said, scolding him. "Oh, you're the birthday boy. Well, I can assure you that what we do is 100% real" Guy said. "That's not what everyone else is saying. They say that your frauds and that's why you're going out of business" Andrew said, crossing his arms. Guy looked away for a moment, feeling hurt by the trolling's words. Branch then turned over to Mavis. "I think it's time for the song" He whispered.
Mavis nodded and signaled over to DJ Suki. DJ started the song and raised the volume. Branch, Guy, and the others got together and started to sing.
Branch, Guy, Biggie, and Cooper: 🎶Da da da, da ,da da. Da, da, da, da, da, da. Da, da, da, da ,da ,da, Ghostbusters!🎶
Branch: 🎶If there's something strange, in the neighborhood. Who ya gonna call?🎶
Branch, Guy, Biggie, and Cooper: 🎶Ghostbusters!🎶
Guy Diamond: "🎶There's something weird, and it don't look good. Who ya gonna call?🎶"

They continued singing until they slowly began to stop when they heard booing from the crowd of trollings and started walking away from them.
"🎶I aint afraid of no-(sigh). Well, that went well" Guy said, frowned. They started to head back to the car and load their proton packs in the back. "That's it. No more birthday parties, what's the point. We're just going over to get made fun of by a bunch of ill mannered children" Branch said, closing the back door. "I agree, but it's better than not getting a call" Biggie said. "I disagree. You guys are forgetting the pros to birthday parties. Free cake, free games, free cake, opening presents, free cake, singing happy birthday, free cake. CAKE!!!" Cooper said, shouting at the end. "Yeah, guys, perk up. Birthday parties can be rough, but it keeps the name Ghostbusters alive" Guy said proudly.
Branch walked over to Guy, taking a birthday hat off of his head. "Guy, face it. The name Ghostbusters is dying. There hasn't been a ghost sighting in a long while. I think sooner or later the birthday calls will end and people will forget we exist" He said. Guy looked down sadly at what his friend just said but then quickly brushed it off. "No, don't think like that, let's just go back to the station, and maybe we'll -" Guy was cut off by Branch. "Actually, I can't go back. I gotta go meet Poppy in techno lagoon" Branch said. "Oh um, ok, well then Biggie, Cooper, and I will go back to the station" Guy said gesturing to his friends.
Biggie looked away, and Guy noticed. "Biggie, is there something you want to say" Guy said, raising an eyebrow. "Uh, yes, I'm not going back either. I was going to go for a walk with Mr. Dinkles around half an hour by now" Biggie said, looking at his watch. Guy then turned to Cooper. "You too, Cooper" He said sadly. "Oh no, I don't have anything important to do" Cooper said, smiling. Guy took a breath of relief at those words. "Oh wait, never mind, I got that one thing. Then after that thing I have to do the other thing. And then I got to get groceries" Cooper said, remembering. "Ok, well, I guess you all can leave. I'll just hold down the fort by myself. Uno diamondo" Guy said, crossing his arms and looking away. The others looked at each other and then back at Guy. "Ok, see you later Guy" Branch said, walking away.
As Biggie and Cooper followed, Guy slightly looked behind his back, watching them leave. He sighed and went over to get some more cake. He then walked over to a park bench and sat down eating. "Ghostbusters are dead, says you, Branch, " Guy said, eating his cake. As he was in deep thought about Branch's words, he didn't realize someone was standing near him. "Um, excuse me, hello. Excuse me" The troll called out, getting Guy's attention. He looked and saw that it was the DJ from earlier. "Oh, sorry, Ms. DJ. I was just thinking about something" He said. "Oh, it's cool. You mind if I sit here" DJ Suki asked. "Of course" Guy said, gesturing to the left of him.
DJ sat down next to Guy with some cake in her lap. "So Guy, was it? Sorry about what that kid said to you earlier" She said with sympathy. Guy remembered what Andrew said to him earlier. "Oh, that? Meh, I don't let it bother me. I know there are always gonna be people who think we're frauds. The paranormal is a hard subject to believe in. Plus, they're just kids" Guy said, shrugging his shoulders.
Suddenly, a ball hit Guy hard in the back of his head, making him drop his cake. "Hey!" Guy said, looking behind him. Andrew ran over to him and grabbed the ball. "It wasn't me, Mr. Diamond. It was the ghooooost. Oooooooooh hahaha, " Andrew said, laughing while running back to his friends. Guy sucked his teeth at the trolling's words. "Yeah, they're just kids, and kids are just mean" DJ said smirking. Guy rolled his eyes and sat back down. "Ok, it gets to me maybe a tiny bit. At least they can show a little more respect. I mean, we saved the village a year ago, and now it's like nobody takes us seriously anymore" Guy said, looking down.
DJ noticed his sad look and understood. "You're afraid to lose your job" DJ said, assuming. Guy looked at her, surprised at how she guessed that. "Well, yeah. My friend said that people will soon stop answering our phone, and we'll have to give all this up" Guy said, gesturing to the ecto 1. "I kinda get it. I'm afraid to lose my job too" DJ said. "Please, you're a DJ. Your job is literally to have fun" Guy said, smirking. "Yeah, but to be honest, it's a bit of an organized job, and I'm a little messy. You have to be at the party spot on time, all the time, anytime of the day or night. Show up late once, and you get backlash from your boss and the people throwing the party" DJ said, explaining.
"Wow, that is a lot. It sounds tiring" Guy said. DJ gave a little yawn. "Yeah, it is, but it's mostly all I got. I don't know what I'll do without this" She said, scratching her eyes. "I don't know what I'd do without my job either. I've been working my whole life for it" Guy said, looking down at his balled up fists. DJ put her plate down and stood up. "Tell you what, Guy. I believe in you" She said. "Are you just saying that to make me feel better?" Guy asked, raising an eyebrow. "Nah, I'm being for real. You don't seem like a fraud to me. You seem like a troll who knows what he's doing and doesn't care about what people think. I respect that" DJ said, smiling.
Guy smiled and stood up. "I can't remember the last time anyone said words like that to me. You might be the first one" Guy said, chuckling. DJ chuckled back. "Lucky me" She said. Then Mavis came up to them as the party was ending. "Thank you boys for coming out, sorry for the kids" She said. "Don't worry about ma'am, call anytime" Guy said giving her a thumbs up. "And thank you, Suki. The music was good and everyone enjoyed it, but you did show up ten minutes late. Try to get to the party quicker for future references, ok. Bye now" Mavis said, walking away. Guy looked over at DJ, shocked she was right about the backlash. "You weren't kidding about the backlash" Guy said. DJ just nodded, not wanting to think about it. "Well, I guess it's time to head out. It was nice talking to you, Guy" She said. "You too, DJ" Guy said, heading back to the ecto 1. "Suki. My name is Suki. DJ is just a nickname" Suki explained.
Guy stopped and took back his words. "And what a nice name that is. Goodbye, Suki" Guy said, getting into the car. Suki waved goodbye as he drove off back to the station and walked back to pick up all her equipment.
