Niko walked a few steps farther than Kenny who was walking slowly, as it had always been. Niko felt so nervous, he hoped the date wouldn't be a disaster or he wouldn't make a fool of himself, but Niko knew even if he did, Kenny would just laugh anyways and it'll be one of the stories they could talk about in the future.
Before all of this love and romantics thing, Kenny is Niko's best friend first before any other. That kind of helped Niko calm down a little.
Niko looked back at Kenny.
"Ken?"
Kenny was lost in his own thoughts, he was so excited for this date just this morning with a little bit of nervousness. But now he's actually just heartbroken. How could Niko dare to smile at Kenny after all of that situation with Camila? Maybe Kenny's just thinking too much into this, but there's no turning back now.
Kenny had already been filled with doubt over all of this date thing, and all of what they had going on. As much as Kenny hated thinking about this, because he knew this was the first step to breaking a very important relationship he had cherished his whole life. The first step, doubt. He just couldn't help himself from thinking about it.
This was what Kenny hated most. Doubting Niko, and he never doubted nor have he ever questioned Niko until now. Until they confessed and planned to go on a date. Kenny tried to think about all of the possibilities that Niko was actually genuine about this.
But Niko had obvious chemistry with Camila on that date, and Kenny knew Niko's not that dumb to not realise, and in the end Niko also chose her. Knowing full well that he was going on a date with Kenny. It was supposed to be Kenny, not that girl.
Niko should be going on a date with Kenny. Not some random girls. Kenny understood it was for a video, but Niko could've at least acted or something.
"Ken?" Niko said again, the taller man noticed that Kenny was in really deep thought. Maybe he was just as nervous about this as Niko was, and that definitely helped Niko be a little more relaxed about this.
Kenny's train of thought snapped, and he looked at Niko.
"Yeah?" Kenny said, his voice cracked a little.
When Kenny looked at Niko, their eyes locked. And thank god Niko was raised right, because right then and there Niko wanted to just feel those lips on his. Kenny's eyes looked so innocent looking up at Niko, and to top it off Kenny was wearing Niko's coat and Kenny looked so small because of the larger size of the puffy coat.
Maybe Niko couldn't kiss him, because obviously they haven't even gone on the date yet. But Niko can touch him. So Niko wrapped his arm on Kenny's.
"I have a surprise, you know?"
"Already?" Kenny laughed. When Kenny felt Niko's warmth on him, he forgot just for a second about what he did.
Niko laughed, and Kenny saw his breath fogging up in the air. The weather was so cold because technically it's already winter even though there hasn't been any snow yet.
They walked at the same place, Niko still has his arms wrapped around Kenny.
The parking lot was empty, but there was one car. A black one, Kenny didn't know what type of car it was -he was never that much of a car person- but it's Audi, based on Kenny's knowledge about the logo.
He had never seen that type of car amongst his friends and the Beta squad team.
"I got a driver's licence, just for our date, so I can drive this time." Niko said, his eyes looking down at Kenny's who was still looking at the car. They were getting closer to the new car.
"That's my car." Niko said.
Kenny started laughing. "No way, Niko, you're joking! Didn't you fail the test like 4 times?" Kenny was still laughing. In the back of his mind, he thought that there was no way a man like Niko could ever lie to him about his feelings, Niko would never play Kenny like that. He even got a driver's licence just for the date.
But there was no harm in being cautious, and his doubt was still there.
"I did, but I got it a few days ago. I passed because of you, you know? I'm the one who asked you out so I should be the one driving you there."
No way. There is no way Niko would lie to him. Not when he tried so hard to make this date as perfect as it was. But that smile was no lie, the smile and the way he looked at her.
You can lie with words, but you can't lie with your eyes. And the smile he gave was just a confirmation.
"So, what? Are you like the man in this relationship? And I'm the woman?" Kenny said jokingly to Niko and punched his side, he couldn't help but smile. His face muscles just can't seem to be controlled by him, whatever comes out of Niko's mouth would always get a smile out of Kenny.
"Is that a sex joke, Ken?" Niko winked at Kenny, and Kenny blushed at the words and laughed just a little, trying to hide his obvious reaction to it.
"Shut up, man!" Kenny said with a laugh, and pushed Niko away and Kenny got out of Niko's arms.
"Just start the car, you idiot."
Niko laughed, and he opened the passenger door for Kenny.
Kenny was surprised by this action, there's absolutely no way Kenny's the girl in this relationship. Niko had been the passenger princess for all of their friendship! Kenny thought. But Kenny wouldn't complain about good manners, and it's not always that he got to be the one not driving when he's with his friends. Might as well enjoy it.
The drive to the place was filled with Niko just talking, and Christmas songs that were played on the radio. Niko sang along to some, and from time to time Kenny followed with, and the younger man always seemed to successfully get a laugh out of Kenny.
But throughout the journey, Kenny had this irritation he can't quite scratch, he thought about Camila, and about Niko. About everything.
It was supposed to be their date, yet here Kenny was thinking about a girl. Kenny hated that he's like this.
Kenny's supposed to be Niko's only date for the day, and for all his life, if Kenny was being honest.

"We're here, Ken." Niko said, as he parked the car and a few seconds later he was in front of the passenger door to open Kenny's door but Kenny beat him to it, and Kenny opened his door himself.
Niko was taken aback by his date's sudden action, and Niko can see in Kenny's eyes and just his whole aura that he was.....fuming. Angry. Maybe. Niko's never that good at reading people, and he hoped that he was wrong about what he thought he saw.
Why would Kenny be mad?
Niko then walked besides Kenny to enter the restaurant, it wasn't fancy or anything like that. It was a place where Kenny used to bring Niko to all the time when they were still kids. The restaurant had a very big makeover apparently, it barely looked the same like how it was. Back then it was just a small family owned restaurant, but as what can be seen from the outside, it had really succeeded, and probably had franchises elsewhere too.
Just like the two, the restaurant itself had changed, it must, and maybe it was for the better.
As Niko opened the door and began to slowly walk over to where their booked seat was. Niko thought about what he did wrong today. Niko didn't say anything mean to Kenny today, he didn't steal his blankets because obviously they bought new ones already, what did Niko do to anger Kenny?
"Niko?" Kenny said, breaking Niko out of his thoughts.
"Your order?" Kenny said, and Niko looked at the menu on the table, and looked at the waiter who was smiling at him.
"Oh, right- sorry."
Niko then started to tell the waiter what he wanted, Kenny couldn't help but look at Niko as the man was ordering his food.
Kenny remembered, this seat was the same seat they used to be at all the time whenever they tried to escape from their parent's wrath. They were very troublesome kids, as people can see from their videos. Some of their videos back at the day got them in a lot of trouble especially since they were just kids.
Kenny remembered admiring Niko, at the same position as they were right now. Niko was just one step away from Kenny, but the older man looked at Niko and what he could see was that Niko was miles away and far from his reach. So far, Kenny could feel what his younger self felt at the time as well. Even though everything had changed about them, it seemed like Niko was always so far away from Kenny. So hard to catch, even harder to hold close to his heart.
Back then, young Kenny felt that it was impossible for a boy as interesting and amazing as Niko would ever feel the same way about him. Now that they were older, Kenny had started to doubt whether or not a man as great as Niko was actually genuine about his feelings towards him and felt like his feelings had just been played with.
Their food had arrived, and they barely talked about anything. Niko was starting to worry, Niko had started conversations a lot of times already but Kenny only answered with short answers and did nothing to continue their conversation.
Kenny's eyebrows were furrowed, thinking hard about a lot of things. He started to drown into his feelings. He was angry at Niko, and also himself.
How dare Niko lie to Kenny about his feelings, and how stupid of him to actually believe Niko.
When they finished their food, Niko gave his card to the waiter to pay for the food and when the waiter came back, Kenny stood up.
Kenny knew how he acted was very rude and very unlike him, but what Niko did was way worse.
"Ken?" Niko said, as he stood up and thanked the waiter and also the man that owned the restaurant, Mr. Duvall. The man had seen the two of them grow, and he was always there giving free smoothies to the two of them when they didn't bring much money.
Mr. Duvall just smiled, though his eyes were looking at Kenny who walked out.
"Kenny!" Niko ran to Kenny.
"Ken- what's wrong? Why are you like this? What did I do?" Niko with his long legs caught up to Kenny in no time, and the taller man grabbed Kenny's arm but because of the puffs on Niko's coat, (that Kenny was wearing) Kenny pulled his arm away from Niko easily.
"You seriously don't know?" Niko could hear the anger in Kenny's voice, and a little hint of sadness. But why?
Niko's no mind reader.
"What? What should I know? Are you on camp? Maybe I should've brought you to a vegan place.."
"I'm not on camp!" Kenny said and crossed his arms, not because he wanted to be seen as intimidating, but because it was night time already and the wind was freezing.
"Then what?" Niko took a step closer to Kenny and held Kenny's arm. Niko continued, "Kenny- I'm sorry I just don't know, if you can just tell me-"
"You- Camila!" Kenny abruptly said, and he looked at Niko. Brown eyes glowing under the bright lights from the restaurant. And even in such anger, Niko found him still as beautiful.
"Who?" Niko was confused, the name sounds similar but he couldn't put a finger on who it was.
"The girl! Number two- you went on a date with her and you chose her and you smiled at her with that heart stopping smile and you hugged her too and-" Kenny wanted to continue, but he looked at Niko for a second and saw Niko looking at him with that gaze that made Kenny's knees weak.
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
Niko smiled, and laughed a little.
"Why are you laughing!"
"So you're jealous?" Niko smirked, and the taller man bent his body a little so his face could come closer to Kenny's and so that they were on eye level.
Kenny could feel himself burning a little due to the sudden accusation, but maybe that was just his body reacting to the freezing winter.
"I am not jealous!" Kenny took a step back, and his back hit Niko's car.
"So, Camila? That's what you're mad about? And I thought I did something wrong...." Niko laughed again, and Niko did something very out of character for him. Niko ran his thumb on Kenny's chin, and their faces were so close that they could feel each other's breath.
Niko didn't have that bad of a breath actually.
"Turns out my date was just jealous," Niko smiled at Kenny, and kissed his forehead.
When Niko's lips were still on Kenny's forehead, Niko's hands untangled Kenny's crossed arms and both his hands held Kenny's.
Niko pulled back, and he looked at Kenny very seriously.
"You know it's just for a video, Ken. I didn't even know who their names were! Ever since the day I asked you out, all I could think about was you and only you. Even on the date with the girl and apparently I gave the girl my "heart stopping" smile," Niko winked at Kenny as he said that word, and gave Kenny that smile.
Once again, Kenny wanted to hide and stay in a cave because despite the coldness of the night, Kenny felt so warm.
"But that was just me, thinking of you. I only have you in my heart, Kenny. That was for a video, for entertainment, but this," Niko held Kenny's hand a bit more tighter, and their fingers laced each other.
"Us, it's not for entertainment, you were in my past, Kenny. So, be my present, and be my future too." Niko moved Kenny's hands, which Kenny can't even control because his muscles were so weak and he's barely standing, he's only able to stay up because he leaned on the car. Niko brought Kenny's hands close to his face and kissed both of them.
"I lo-" before Niko was able to finish those three words, Kenny pulled his hands from Niko's and cupped Niko's face and kissed him.
Snow started to fall on them and on the ground, but they couldn't feel it touch their skin.
The kiss was 10x better than when they were in that car, their face was moving from time to time and Kenny tried to dominate the kiss but Niko had the advantage as he pushed Kenny's body to the car, that got a sound out of Kenny, and Niko acted like an addict and wanted for more and he used his own body and shared the warmth with Kenny's, Kenny was taken aback by this and Niko took Kenny's unpreparedness to his advantage as he moved his tongue to explore all of Kenny's mouth.
Kenny moaned into the kiss, and he felt so hot all over he could barely stand anymore, Niko noticed and one of Niko's arms wrapped Kenny's body and carried him but just by a small strength thanks to the car.
Niko continued, and he didn't want it to stop, Kenny's moans were music to his ears and Niko wanted to hear more of it but Kenny was pushing him, trying to catch his breath and Niko didn't want to kill Kenny due to suffocation from a kiss. So, Niko pulled back.
They both looked at each other, and Niko was laughing so loud while Kenny palmed his face with both his hands.
"Can we go home? Please?" Kenny said, his smile was obvious.
"Of course, Kenny." Niko said and kissed his cheek, and Niko took that chance to whisper a small "I love you" to Kenny's ears.
Kenny felt goosebumps trailing over his skin.
Heavy snow started to fall and the ground turned white due to the snow.
Kenny stood a bit on his tip toes, Niko always so tall, and he kissed Niko's cheeks, and said the same. Niko's jaw clenched as Kenny did what he did and he could barely hold himself back from kissing Kenny all over again and to roam his hands all over Kenny's body and to proceed doing certain actions that were better hidden from the public.
"You're driving me crazy, Ken." Niko said, voice heavy.
Kenny laughed, and Niko just smiled as he unlocked the car.
"Let's go home, I'm sleepy.." Kenny yawned.
"Trust me Ken, you're not sleeping tonight." Niko said, and Niko's other hand that wasn't on the steering wheel made its way to Kenny's thigh.
"I am not the woman in this relationship." Kenny glared at Niko.
Niko just laughed.
The boxer groaned at Niko's reaction, but he didn't complain.
He only complained the next day, when Niko laughed at Kenny for barely being able to stand on two feet and when he fell face flat on the floor when he tried to walk to the bathroom.
Luckily, doors were closed when he fell.
