Things took a different turn in Rache's life all of a sudden when one day she got a text, just a text from Mia saying that she has decided to move elsewhere for her new job. Her whole world came shattering down, her best friend has decided to move elsewhere and all she could do was just text her about it, let alone a week before her departure. She questioned their friendship, but it didn't take much of her time to realise that the reason Mia was doing this is because she needs to be away from everyone. She respected her decision, but she wasn't just someone in her life, she couldn't stop thinking about it for a few days. Somehow, she calmed down when Mia asked her to see her off at the airport.

'You have the audacity to leave me and go live somewhere else huh?' was all Rache could say amongst her overflowing tears when she came to send Mia off. Teary goodbyes and warm hugs filled Mia's last few hours before she went into boarding, and an hour later she was off, off to an unknown land, full of unknown people waiting for her to discover and indulge. But there will always be parts of her that she has left, one of them is Rache, obviously but the other, that's what's going to change her life in where she's going now.

Clamour, busy road, and busy streets, but not as busy as where she was from. People's eyes weren't stuck to their phones they looked livelier. None of them had a frown on their face, or maybe all the adrenaline rushing through Mia's veins made her think that. Crossing her arms against her chest she began walking, she had only brought a backpack with her. She had shipped her belongings the day before her departure so she can collect it once she was here, smart move to be honest. Dragging around her luggage in the new streets could be a menace. Sudden realisation that her hands were empty made her rummage through her pockets and take out her phone. Despite the people around her being lively and despite the fact that she was in a new area, all she could do was scroll through her Instagram. It was a habit she had developed when she first got her phone and created an account. When she was little, whenever they went on outings as a family, her entire family was on their phones except for her, nobody gave her attention or even functioned as a family she expected them to, the same behaviour continued during her teenage as well. It was more frustrating for her as she was then a teen and all her friends had a phone and a social media account except her. So, once she got herself a phone, she made that her whole life, her whole identity. She knew it was an unhealthy habit but she could not stop but put her whole attention on that single device. The digital world gave her pleasantness the real world right next to her couldn't give.

In that instance, something unsuspecting collided with her, sending herself twirling among the crowd. She finally looked up from her phone, and their eyes met, setting in motion a whirlwind of destiny. A tall handsome figure stood there, as if he was waiting for her to meet his eyes. He tilted his head a little and smiled, his golden-brown hair covering his right eye, his calming gaze and the mischievous smile made Mia stagnant at her spot and tempted her not to look away. 'If you hadn't been staring at your phone, you would have realised that I did it on purpose', he snickered and walked away leaving Mia at the same spot smiling to herself. It took her a few good minutes to realise what was happening and to get back to the world around her. Thoughts circled her mind now, her eyes looked for him again in the crowds, but she didn't remember anything about him than those mesmerizing eyes. What colour were they exactly? She didn't know, she almost thought she was hallucinating someone. But the bump was real, she felt him, she heard him, she saw him. But never remembered him. What did he mean by that, and what did he sound like, she couldn't remember anything. She tried again and again to remember those eyes she got lost in. But that was it, she got lost in them and lost hold of the reality.

Letting out a big sigh she started walking again, she had lots to do, and first up she had to go meet the landlord of her studio apartment.

'Wow', he said to himself. 'She looked so lost but still her conscience staggered me. Wai what was that supposed to mean? I barely know her but why does it feel like I know her?', he was saying things out loud at this point and he couldn't stop thinking about that girl he had just bumped into on purpose of course. With those brown eyes flushed chubby cheeks. Like a lost little kid at a carnival. He wondered whether it was really a spark or whether he was just making a fool out of himself. Even if it was a spark how the hell is he supposed to find her again. He was new to the city, and by the looks for her she looked new to the entire country. Or maybe she just looks lost all the time. He continued walking with thoughts about the lost girl in his mind, and pondered on the thought whether she was thinking about him too. Little did he know she was thinking about him too.

Braydon, a little older than Mia now roamed the streets with nothing but Mia in his mind. His piercing blue eyes scanning every face hoping to see the lost girl again though she walked in the opposite direction. His long, amber hair swaying oh so gracefully in the gentle breeze. His big veiny hands tucked in the pockets of his jacket. All the glory he gave his body by spending hours swimming was facing injustice because of that jacket. His tall figure made everyone he passed by look at him twice. His perfect jawline and those high cheekbones would get him any girls he would lay his eyes at, but he was never that person. Never showed interest in girls, until this day, this evening when he saw her something pushed him to bump into her, to stop and stare at her, take her all in and memorise her. Maybe this was another change he might be making on his life by moving into this city. What he left behind was something he didn't want to look back at, as he felt like he had nothing back there. This day today is when he is going to start afresh. New life a new meaning to his existence.

Mia woke up with a start, her heart racing. She realised she had been dreaming about Joe again, and it had felt so real. They were back together, and everything was the way it used to be. They were happy, in love, and inseparable.

But then she opened her eyes and saw that she was not alone in her bed. The sun was streaming through the window, and the birds were singing outside. It was a beautiful day, and the love of her life was right next to her sleeping so peacefully. Everything she thought she had dreamt was true, they were finally together, their story was complete, and Mia's pain got closure. Joe was finally hers and no one except them could change that. She turned herself in the bed to face him, she adored him with her brown eyes full of love and hope. She still couldn't believe he was finally hers; she took his hands and kissed them; he stirred in his sleep and slowly opened his eyes. But he wasn't looking at her, he was fixated on something else far beyond her, 'honey what's wrong', she asked running her fingers through his hair, but he didn't talk. He didn't even hear her speak, alarmed by this strangeness she turned to look at what he was staring at. All she could see was some bright light and a silhouette of a woman, shorter than her waving at him. She didn't comprehend what was happening but the next second she turned back, Joe was gone and so was the bright light.

Mia caught herself blinking her eyes ten times more than usual hoping to blink Joe back into her room, but it was impossible. It took a while for her to realise she has been having Hypnopompic hallucinations, and it was all really just a dream. She felt embarrassed and mad at herself for putting herself through this. But ever since the incident she has never been the same confident and bold girl, she had become scared and disturbed. She knew she needed therapy, but she didn't know where to get started or what she would say to her therapist. Wanting to start the day, she got out of bed and went to the kitchen to make herself some coffee. As she waited for the coffee to brew, she thought about her dream. She realised that she still cared about him, even though they had been broken up for a long time. She missed him, and she wished that they could be together again.

But she knew that it was too late. They had drifted too far apart. They were different people now, and they wanted different things. Mia had to accept that her dream was just that - a dream. It wasn't real.

She finished her coffee and went back to her room. She sat down on her bed and stared out the window. She thought about all the good times they had shared, and she smiled sadly. She knew that she would never forget him, but she also knew that she had to move on. But she wasn't fully ready to let him go, she wished things were different between them. She took her phone and thought of texting him, 'Hey how are you' she typed, this time for real and she knew it's ok to hit send now and she did. She put her phone down and walked up-to her closet and started going through her outfits. She wanted to distract herself, it was tough but it's something she owed herself. Yet she doubted whether this is what she really wanted, what about the mystery guy she bumped into a week ago? That is a lost cause she told herself, with a smile blooming on her face. Has he done something to her? She could never comprehend. Every time she thought about him, she could do nothing but smile, but that's it, he was just a thought in the back of her head, he had no name, no face, just the feeling of his arm that nudged onto her shoulder; that's all he was now. She took a deep breath and walked out of her room. Right when she stepped outside her room notification pinged, no matter how hard she tried, she had to stop and look back, without thinking twice she walked towards her phone. Couldn't deliver the message was what the notification read, not a reply, not even a reaction, she opened the chat to see a red alert mark right next to the message she had sent. This was it; this was what she needed to snap out of that god horrible feeling of that dream. He isn't supposed to be in her life, she moved out of her own country for that reason.

Mia slowly started moving on from her previous life and got comfortable of her new life, but the only thing that never changed was Rache, her constant bickering, and her constant facetime calls to check up on her best friend never went away, but Mia loved a little attention.

It has been 3 months since she moved here, and life has been nothing but productive. Doing the work she loved, saving up money and she had even bought her own furniture for her tiny, teeny studio apartment. Rache on the other hand had been asking her to send in her address as she had some "courier" to send, Mia wasn't the type to accept things from people no matter how close she is with them.

But she never expected to see Rache as the courier when one night someone knocked at her door mindlessly in the middle of the night. 'Hiiiiiiiiii', Rache squealed when Mia opened the door and threw herself at her with open arms, 'oh hi, what...what are you doing here' is all what Mia could muster up while being squished by Rache.
