Ellie sat in the attending lounge and frowned as the chief handing out scrubs
"Navy scrubs?" Meredith asked
" Attending scrubs. You are attendings today. Run the cases, take point, but don't be a fool. If you get in over your head, cry uncle. Until then ... Congratulations. You've just been promoted." Webber said as Ellie looks to cassie as they held a look
" Um, chief webber. Uh, sorry. I-I didn't get any scrubs" lexie asked
" Oh, this is for fourth-year residents only, Grey. It's just a regular day for you. " Lexie said
"Well, fine. Well, if they're gonna be attendings, then that makes me chief resident. "
"No. That makes you our scut monkey. " Alex said
" No, it doesn't. Does ... does it? " lexie asked
" It doesn't. The attendings aren't going anywhere. We're basically just playing dress up. " meredith said
" Yeah. " cristina said

Elli walked over to the nurses station as she saw mark as he stood with Callie and Arizona "hey" Ellie said as mark looked to her and smiled as Cassie joined her
"Hey you look good in the navy scrubs I'd like to see you out of them" he said to Cassie as Ellie rolled her eyes
"You will later" she said as he smirked as Ellie groaned in disgust
"Karev's about to do a gynecomastia surgery On a 13 year old. " Arizona said
"Oh, Karev's fine. He's done way bigger procedures than that. You two would just rather worry about him than about your, uh, presentations to the chief. " callie said as Ellie rolled her eyes
"Stop trying to psych them out" Cassie said
"Oh, yeah. I'm not worried. The money is going to the tiny humans. No one ever says no to the tiny humans." Arizona said
" Oh. Okay. " callie said
" What? " Arizona asked
"Well ... You're not gonna cry 'cause you find the chief intimidating? "

" All right. I have work to do. "
" Okay. Yeah. Bye. " callie said asArizona leaves.
"What, are you trying to psych her out?" Mark asked
"Ortho needs the money. She and the friggin' tiny humans have all the help they need already." Callie said
"I'm getting the money. Let it go. " mark said as Ellie rolled her eyes at them
"Oh, okay. "
"Why wouldn't I?" Mark asked
"Well, because you never prepare for anything. You think you'll get by on your good looks and charm and the brilliance that pops off the top of your head. " callie said
"Yeah, 'cause it always works."

"It's what got Cassie to agree to sleep with me..." mark said as Callie elbowed mark and gave him a look to say shut up as Callie walked over as Cassie rested her hand on his cheek and smiled
"Ignore her you'll do great baby I believe in you" she said as he kissed him. Mark smirked as he grabbed her ass and pulled her to him
"Hmm I can't wait to get you naked later" he said as Cassie smirked as Ellie walked off feeling disgusted
"Such a charmer ill see you later" she said as she walked off

Ellie, Jackson, Meredith, and Derek are in the patients room.
"Ms. Radigan, you're still having these headaches and ringing in the ears? " Meredith asked
" All day long. It's driving me crazy. "
" It's caused by a buildup of fluid in your skull. So what we will do is insert a shunt, and that will relieve the pressure on your brain. " jackson said
" What do you mean,"we"? You're doing the actual tube part in the brain, right, not them?" The patient partner said go derek
" Excuse her. She's a schoolteacher. She talks to everyone like they're hiding gum behind their back. "
" That's all right. She can ask questions. Dr. Grey and Dr. Avery and dr Sloan are residents. They're very talented. One of them will be performing the procedure, and I will be observing. " Derek said
" A trainee cutting into Ellie's brain? "
" No. I know it sounds like a leap, but these doctors study and assist for years. At some point, we have to let them operate. That's how we make new surgeons. " derek said
" Let them learn on someone else. "
" Who, someone who's too scared to interrogate the doctors? They have to learn on someone. Might as well be an old lady. "
"You're my old lady. This should be my call. "
" I won't let them move a muscle without my direction and approval. " derek said
" You're a teacher, Joanne. Let the kids learn. "
" She's my life. She has been my life for 40 years. Do you hear me? "
" I hear you. " Derek said as he Ellie, Jackson, and Meredith are outside the room.
"Who gets to cut?" Meredith asked
" I want to get a look at all of you with a drill before I decide who gets the shunt. Skills lab seems like a fair way to go. " derek said
" Competing with the wife? Like that's not a stacked deck" Jackson said
"Literally" Ellie said as Ellie and Jackson held a look
" Well, it's a game, really. So all you have to do is win, which you won't." Meredith said

Ellie sat in the skills lab with Jackson and Meredith as they sat practicing on eggs as she looked to see Cassie as she walked in and smiled as she looked to her
"Hey are you okay?"ellie asked as Cassie sighed
"No your brother is driving me mad" Cassie said as Ellie looked to her and smiled
"He does that to me daily. Is everything okay with the two of you" Ellie asked as Cassie looked to her and dodged
"I don't know my head is a mess and I hate it. We have been arguing a lot lately and there is some tension Between us and I hate it I just don't know what to do or think" Cassie said as Ellie looked to her and smiled
"Mark is an idiot if he lets you go. It will be okay besides as his sister I will kick his ass if he hurts you" Ellie said as Cassie looked to her and smiled

Derek's in the skills lab, counting down the seconds for Meredith , Ellie and Jackson.
"Okay, 30 seconds. If neither one of you breaks the membrane, I'm gonna have to judge you on precision, so make sure your initials are clean and clear. " derek said
"Dr. Shepherd." Meredith said
"Yes. "
"Stop talking!" She said
"Five, four ... Three, two, one. Time. Ah. What do you got?" Derke asked
Meredith's scraped her initials in the scale without rupturing the membrane.
"Oh, not bad. What about you, dr Sloan, Dr. Avery?" He asked as Ellie held her egg which had "Els" scraped in"
"I just wish I had more time." Jackson said as he handed Derek his egg
"Oh, really? You did your whole name?" Derek she'd
"What?! You conned me." Meredith said
"Are you kidding?" Ellie asked
"I don't know what you're talking about. " jackson said
"He hustled me. He went through two dozen eggs and made me think I didn't have to practice"
" Well, if you didn't practice, Meredith, You were overconfident. Dr. Avery, congratulations. You have the surgery. Good effort dr Sloan" he said as Ellie rolled her eyes at him
"Show off" Ellie said to Jackson as he looked to her and smirked

Ellie walked into the room where she was paged and looked to Lexie
"What happened" Ellie asked
" Okay, um, she's ... she's post-op day two From a tibial plateau fracture. She ... she was fine all day, fine, and then ten minutes ago, She started complaining of headache, blurred vision and tingling on the left side of her body. I- I ordered a stat head C.T. I cannot believe that you're the neuro consult. " lexie said as Ellie nodded
"Is she on blood thinners?"
" Yes, for D.V.T. Prophylaxis. "
" She's got a brain bleed. Let's book an O.R. " Ellie said
" How didn't I see this coming? " lexie asked
" Did you check her platelets? "
Yes. "
" And everything was normal?"
"Until now, yes. " lexie said
"Okay, well, you checked her platelets, you got a C.T. , You called neuro. You did everything right. The only thing you're doing wrong Is standing around talking about it, wasting time, While we should be getting her to the O.R. " Ellie said
" You totally sounded like an attending. "
" Right? Let's page Shepherd 9-1-1. " Ellie said
" Okay." Lexie said

Ellie sighed as she walked out of surgery and saw in the hallway. She looked to see Cassie as she saw with her
"Why are you sitting here watching Jackson? Why don't you go and tell him for you feel over him" Cassie asked as Ellie looked to her and rolled her eyes
"I have no idea what you mean" Ellie said as Cassie looked to her
"Sure you don't. I'm no idiot. You know that. I know you ended it with him why don't you tell him how you feel" Cassie asked as Ellie looked to her and smiled
"Because it's better this way. I'm too damaged for him" Ellie said as Cassie looked to her
"That's not true and you know it" Cassie said as Ellie shrugged

Ellie got to marks apartment and walked in and frowned as she heard the sound of moaning and frowned. She knew that this was the last thing that she wanted to hear. She knew how her head was a mess over Jackson and she didn't want to listen to her brother have sex
"What are you doing here" mark walked out of the bedroom and saw Ellie as she looked to him and rolled her eyes
"Charming. I love you too. I had a bad day and I wanted to see my brother only to come here and hear him screwing my best friend senseless" Ellie said as she sat down and ran her hands through her hair and looked to see mark as he sat next to her and smiled
"Are you okay?" He asked as she looked to him and sighed as she ran her hands through her hair and smiled
"I am just questioning everything that is going on with me. That shorting it messed me up more than anything you had to commit me and all I can think over is just how damaged I am" she said as mark looked to her
"Listen to me el, I know you and it's not easy but I know one thing you are not damaged. You are Amazing and it's all going to be okay. I am going to get us a pizza and we will hang out and do all we can to make it better. I've always had your back" he said as she looked to him and smiled
She knew how none of it was easy at all

Ellie sat in the room with Cassie who looked to her and sighed
"Do you want to tell me what is going on as I know it's to do with Jackson. I know they you have feelings for him. I know that it isn't over for you" Cassie asked as Ellie looked to her and sighed
"It's pointless Cassie. I saw him with Lexie and I saw how happy they were I don't know what is going on with them but I see it. She can make him happy and I can't. I'm too damaged . I had a gun to my head and it damaged me and Jackson Avery deserves better, better then me" she said
"That bollocks I see how you too are. You are both so stubborn to admit it. You know they your meat to be together even if you won't admit it" Cassie said as Ellie looked to her and smiled
Ellie knew how her head was a mess and she didn't know what to think. All that she knew was that everything was a mess and her head was battered over the whole situation
