*Joshua's POV* (Faceclaim: Chance Perdomo)

I don't understand Lyra. She acting like too much of a child. I sigh as I reach into the fridge, searching for whatever could be used as a suitable meal. With powers like hers, Lyra should be more responsible. I shouldn't be mad at her right now, but I had to be mad at something.

I rolled my eyes and muttered in annoyance under my breath as I grabbed some pasta. Lyra would never grow up. We'd known each other since we were just kids and I had offered her a place to stay when her parents had left. My parents were just like her stepmother, rarely home and always away on business trips. They tried to make up with it by sending me gifts but I cared more about my studies then the fancy clothes and whatnot that they sent me.

I turned on the stove as I placed a pot full of water on, getting ready to boil it. While the water boiled, I stared out the window, thinking about the number Lyra had texted. Perhaps she had just told them "Sorry wrong number" but I knew Lyra. She had probably become friends with him already.

I dropped the pasta into the boiling water as I started making a sauce to go with it. I stared into the fridge for a few minutes before sighing and grabbing a few potatoes to make for Lyra. I suppose it was as an apology for being mad. Not that it was my fault. When I finally finished making dinner, I called Lyra down.

*Lyra's POV*

"Ly! Come for dinner, pendeja!" Joshua yelled. Well at least he learned. I yelled back a few curses at him in french and put down my homework. I quickly went out and smirked when I saw him. He sighed, "It's unfair."

"What?" I grinned, "That I am naturally talented in languages."

"You have a photographic memory. Shut up." He glared.

I smirked again. enjoying his annoyance, "Someone's jealous, or just generally grumpy?" I grinned.

He sighed, "Do you want dinner or not?"

"Yes. Yes I do." I said quickly, snatching the plate from him before he could yank it away. "Besides," I protested, "You're basically all knowing at this point. Studying all those fancy textbooks just so you know more languages than me which is in hindsight, not gonna happen." I grinned.

"It is not to learn more than you." Joshua frowned, sitting across from me, "It's to be more educated and also-"

I cut him off before he could start rambling, "Sure it is Josh. Sure it is. Some people are just born talented."

He rolled his eyes, "Some people just don't have to study I guess."

"Not my fault!" I glared right back.

He sighed, "You got lucky. Whatever you changy powers are, the ability to just remember everything,"

"What is up with you?!" I demanded, annoyed. He never acted like this before. "Did I do something or are you just being a jerk today?" I glared.

He looked like he was about to retort before sighing and calming himself, "Look, sorry Ly, I've just been stressed with school work." I knew Joshua well enough to know that that was a very viable reason cause he was a nerd but I could also tell he was lying.

"Yeah, okay." I frowned, taking a bite of the pasta. We spent the rest of the meal in silence before I stood up to go back to my room.

"No, Lyra." Joshua glared, "You're doing the dishes, I made dinner."

"I have homework!" I protested.

"We all do." Joshua rolled his eyes, "You're not special. The world doesn't revolve around you." I took his plate angrily. "Sorry...." He mumbled after a bit. Something was definitely up but I didn't want to ask him what it was. I would give him the silent treatment.

I finished up the dishes before going back to my room. I pulled out my phone and opened the chat with Red and Mister Nice Guy. I hoped they could make me feel just a bit better.

·:*¨¨* ≈☆≈ *¨¨*:·.

I sighed as I put my phone down after a few moments. Maybe they just wouldn't answer. They were probably busy. I was about to get back to my work when I felt my phone vibrate in my hand, indicating a text.

I smiled as I put my phone away and grabbed my textbooks. I was so glad that I had texted the wrong number. I guess it didn't even cross my mind once that with a photographic memory, I probably should have remembered Joshua's number.
