Chapter 185 - "I want Daddy and Mommy to live together." (1)
One line from this man and her flame had been extinguished. She dared not made another comment. Focusing on her food, she pretended that nothing had happened.
She wanted to turn over the page but that didn't mean everybody was on board with her.
XingXing put a mouthful of pickled cabbage into his mouth and failed to put them all in at one go. There was still cabbage dangling on his chin. He shoved the rest into his mouth with his hand, chewed, and swallowed them. The grease around his mouth further emphasized his presence.
"I am pretty too!"
He was not part of this conversation!
Cheng Huan rolled her eyes at her son and didn't want to respond to that. The man across from her chuckled again. Reaching over, he wiped the grease off from the little kiddo's mouth and, studying him carefully, said definitely, "Yes, our XingXing is, indeed, very pretty."
And that wasn't a lie either. Cheng Huan and Jiang MingYuan both had good genes and XingXing knew how to pick the best of both. He was still young right now but there was a hint of his handsomeness could already be seen. Even his short and stubby legs looked to be slightly longer than those of his peers.
The little kiddo was very happy that his father had acknowledged him but he still wanted his mother's opinion as well. He knew how to be persistent. His whining drove Cheng Huan crazy and, knowing that he would fuss if she didn't agree with him, she had no choice but to said he was pretty.
XingXing was appeased with that answer. He happily shoved another mouthful of rice into his mouth and, with both of his cheeks puffed up, mumbled, "Mommy is pretty too!"
Then he was knocked on his head. Cheng Huan lectured him with a long face, "No talking when you eat."
The little kid, who's kind words were not reciprocated, had an unjust look on him. He docilely chewed and swallowed all that was in his mouth before he opened his mouth up wide and said, "Mommy, I am done eating!"
"Mmhmm."
"I can talk now?"
"Go ahead."
The little kiddo's aura was very arrogant. With his arms akimbo, he opened up his mouth but couldn't think of what to say. Half a day later, he finally came out with, "This fish is very tasty."
Cheng Huan, "......"
As usually, Jiang MingYuan was the one who took care of dishes after dinner. After dishes and playing with his son for a little while, he said he was going to bathe him.
"Oh, alright." This was Jiang MingYuan's first rodeo and Cheng Huan wasn't worried at all.
The apartment wasn't very big and there was only a shower inside of the bathroom. Before he bathed his son, Jiang MingYuan took off his suit, undid the buttons on his shirt and rolled up his sleeves, and rolled up his pants. He turned on the heater and brought the temperature in the bathroom up a few degrees before he started to undress XingXing.
When Cheng Huan bathed XingXing, he was usually pretty docile. When it was Jiang MingYuan, however, XingXing would turn into a little devil. Staying outside of the bathroom, Cheng Huan had already gotten used to the laughing and giggling coming from inside of the bathroom.
Bathing XingXing took about 20 minutes. As usual, Jiang MingYuan was wet when it was done. Cheng Huan was used to that as well. Pulling out his change of clothes from the closet, she said to him, "Why don't you go take a shower as well?"
Jiang MingYuan took the clothes from her and nodded. Cheng Huan dried XingXing's hair with the hairdryer. With a frosted door between the three of them, the sound from the water and the hairdryer was both cacophonous and harmonious at the same time.
After his hair was dried, Cheng Huan shoved her son under the blanket and pulled out a storybook to read to him. The little kiddo got ideas again.
"I want Daddy to read to me."
"Alright. You are the child. Whatever you say, goes." Cheng Huan pinched his little nose a little, put down the storybook, sat to one side and started playing on her cellphone.
When Jiang MingYuan came out of his shower, he dried his hair quickly and was about to take off. Knocking on the door and walking inside of the bedroom, he saw his son waved at him with anticipation, "Daddy, can you read to me?"
