I woke up nice an early today, for my sisters departure. I got out of bed and pulled my blanket around my arms. They had been up a little longer than me so they were dressed and ready to leave on time. I made some toast and sat down at my kitchen diner. They were just getting the random bits and bobs they left around my house making sure to check everything. Once they did so, i had finished my toast and stood up next to them both. "I'll miss your cooking" i said giving Carlos a side hug.
"Hey! I did some to" Ada said annoyed.
"Yeah but like you know what i mean" i laughed with her fiancé.
"I can take our stuff to the taxi, so you too can have some sister time" Carlos said giving me one last hug and taking their bags away.
"You better get with Guro, Rena or i swear" she warned.
"Woah woah woah. Slow down or i'll kick you out"
"I'm leaving anyway but still"
"I'm gonna really miss you Ada" i said looking down.
"I know Roo, i'll miss you too" she pulled me into a hug and kissed the top of my head. She dragged herself off me and i reluctantly stepped back. I said my last goodbye and she left shutting the door behind her. I felt a tear trickle down my cheek which i quickly brushed away. I remembered that i was going to Millie's today and my mind started to run for what i should wear. Thinking of running i decided to go for a jog. To clear my mind. I went out to the local park and did a few laps. Nothing to brutal. Once i was done i got straight in the shower cleaning any sweat and grub off me.
I got all dried and then did some skincare. Millie said to be there for 5:00 and it was 12:15 right now. I put some comfy clothes on and made some lunch which was an açai bowl. I blended some frozen blueberries, strawberries and mango with some ice and put it in my bowl. I then cut up a banana and put that on top along with some more blueberries and a drizzle of honey. I loved making these as they were super easy and are really tasty. Once i finished that i tidied up and to dry my hair. Which took about 15 minutes. The time now 1:03 so i wasted a bit of time on my phone. Of course i just had to get distracted by scrolling on my TikTok and i looked at the time which read 3:23. I knew i wouldn't have to rush getting ready but i certainly couldn't get distracted by something else. I got dressed after spending ages picking out my outfit. I chose a knitted beige dress which was sleeveless and was fairly short. I paired it with some high black boots and a matching black jacket. I went in my bathroom and did basic makeup. I then dosed myself in body spray and perfume so i wouldn't smell.
I checked my clock and this time around it was 4:13 which left me plenty of time. I messaged the group chat asking if anyone needed a lift. Erin did so once the time turned half past i left. I made sure to pick up the two bottles of champagne i brought and put them in my car. I pulled up outside Erin's house and she walked out and got in straight away. "Long time no see" i said smiling.
"I missed you. How was Spain?" she asked.
"Oh it was amazing like always. Did you have a good Christmas?" i replied starting the car.
"Yes thank you. I went to Scotland for a bit to meet family but nothing else really." she talked.
"Love that. I love the shoes by the way" i started laughing. Erin had left her christmas slippers on. They were the ones that were shaped how elves shoes are, with a bell on the point. She looked down and gasped which made me laugh even more.
"Oh my goodness, i can't believe i've done this" she exclaimed.
"Well i'm not driving back to yours now. We're nearly at Millie's plus this is hilarious."
"How dare you"
"No complaining" i pointed a finger in her face.
Eventually we got there and we stepped out of my warm car. The cold hitting us sending chills down my spine immediately as well as the fresh rain which was getting heavier as the night went on. I rang the doorbell and Millie pulled the door open straight away and ushered us in whilst laughing at Erins shoe choice. I walked in and said hi to Levi her boyfriend giving him the champagne bottles i brought and went into their lounge. I saw Sam and Kristie and my eyes light up straight away. I hadn't seen Kristie in forever so i was excited. Guro wasn't here yet which was a shame but i knew she was coming so i didn't care. There was seven of us tonight which was nice.
The doorbell went and as Millie was in the kitchen making drinks for people i got up and opened it for her. Obviously it was Guro, but i already knew that. I smiled at her and pulled the door open wide. She said hi but that was it really. I was confused. She was pleading for my forgiveness a few weeks ago and after what Hansen told me, i was looking forward to seeing her and to see what she would say but she walked into the lounge practically ignoring me which made my heart sink. I tried to brush it off. Maybe she was cold and wanted to get in the warmth? Maybe she wanted to get out of the rain? Or maybe she hadn't seen anyone over the break yet and was just excited? I hope it's nothing but realistically it never is.
After locking the door i followed the Norwegian girl in and sat next to her. Everyone was in their own conversations before hand so i was just silently listening. Sam brought up Erin's shoes and she started explaining.
"And Rena wouldn't drive me back to change" she finished laughing.
"It was too funny" i said joining in.
Millie and Levi had prepared a Chicken dinner for us all. Once it was ready we went to their dining table and sat down. Guro was next to me again which gave me the perfect chance to talk to her as she hasn't really spoke to me yet. The food all got dished up and everyone tucked into their food and to their conversations. I nudged the girl besides me to get her attention. She looked over and i started, "What's up?"
"Nothing?" she murmured.
"Come on Guro, tell me"
"No"
"Please"
"No!" she snarled.
I huffed and decided to stop. For now anyway. I soon got engrossed in a debate with Kristie whether it's pronounced Scon or Scone. I was going with the second one but she was set on the first. We then moved on to Oreo, Vase, Route and Tomato. It was quite funny really. Soon we all finished. I offered, along with Sam. to wash up all the plates. Me and Sammy K soon got to work. Talking about random stuff and having a mini sing-song halfway through. Once we finished we joined everyone else in the living room and we started watching Nativity. Even though i watched it a couple days ago i didn't care. I sat on the floor as i sometimes find it more comfortable than sitting on an actual chair. That was until my arse starting going numb. Guro got up to go to the toilet so i took that as the perfect chance to steal her seat. When she came back in she glared at me.
"Get off"
"Not a chance. My arse went numb"
She huffed at me clearly going back to being stuck up like what she was like at the start of the season. Erin budged up so that there was room in between us both so she could sit, which she did. We started playing a few games and asking each other random drunk questions but obviously i wasn't drinking as i was driving people back. We were talking about how my contract with Chelsea was running out soon and what i was planning on doing but before i could reply and give my answer Guro stood up claiming she was too hot and went outside the house for 'fresh air', even though it was raining. She left without a coat so i put my shoes on and grabbed my jacket to give to her because even if she was hot i didn't want her to catch a cold.
I opened the door and stepped into the street looking for the girl. She was there, on her own. Shivering like i guessed. She must've heard me come out and spun around, 'Why did you follow me out?'
"I just brought you my jacket, i knew you'd be freezing" i said softly as the rain poured down. I walked over to her slowly and gave it to her. She put it on and i was about to walk back into the house when she stopped me.
"Why were you with the Barcelona girls?"
"Um what?" i asked puzzled
"When you were in Spain, you were with most of the girls from Barca, why?"
"Oh because Keira and Lucy had plans with them already so i just tagged along."
"You sure you're not just getting to know them because your moving there when your contract runs out?"
"Guro what are you talking about?"
"Oh i don't know, maybe that you've said before that you'd just love to go play for Barca one day and then the next minute your with most of their team hanging out!" she snapped
"Is this why your being weird with me? You think i'm going to Barcelona?" i argued back stepping closer to her.
"Yeah"
"I hope you know that i don't even know what offers i've been sent yet. I was thinking on signing an extension for Chelsea if i was allowed, and my mind got set on that after i went to Spain." i fired. She just looked down and didn't reply. "Guro say something"
"I'm sorry"
"No not that. Not that bullshit again"
"What do you want me to say then?" she remarked edging closer to me whilst the rain still fell down.
"I want you to tell me what you've been wanting to tell me for ages now"
"Why should I? You're probably going to Spain anyway. You don't even care"
"Don't say that! I do care. A lot" i took a step closer.
"Really? Yeah right"
"Yes i do Guro, i care a lot."
"Prove it". At this point we were pretty much face to face. In the dark street with the rain hitting our faces. I was fed up of her playing her stupid games. So i did what my mind told me to do. I kissed her. Right then and there, in the damp street. The weird thing was, i expected her to pull away but she didn't. Until we had to, to get air. After she caught her breath Guro started talking,
"I've always liked you Rena, ever since i found out who i was playing with here. I was scared, of what could happen. If i started liking a teammate i knew i wouldn't be able to stop. I knew the way relationships like this could end and it worried me, the way teams could get ruin by one break up. I knew that i'd Hate To Love You so i thought it would be easier to love to hate you instead. It never ever worked and when i heard you talking about how you'd love to go to Barca i panicked and thought i missed my shot and it didn't get any better when you were with some of their team when you where staying in Spain. I thought you were leaving. I really did. So pushing you away was easier. That's something i'll hate about myself forever and i'm so so sorry" i saw tears start to run down her face, i could tell even if it was raining. I immediately engulfed her in a tight hug, in which she reciprocated. We pulled away after about 3 minutes.
"I'm sorry too, for being stupid. I should've known but i guess i thought you actually hated me. But from the start of this season my opinions started changing. When i went to Spain your Norwegian teammate Hansen told me how much you liked me and that i should listen to what you had to say. That's what i wanted to do tonight and earlier on but i was confused why you were ignoring me and now i understand why. You should've said something to me, i could've told you that i was staying."
She smiled a little and i pulled her back into a quick hug.
"I guess you should properly hear it from me now then." she started. "Renata De Santos, i really really really like you and i mean a lot. Do you," she paused "Happen to feel the same way?" she finished as i chuckled at her choice in words.
"Guro Reiten, i really really really like you too." i smiled taking her hand and hugging her tightly for a third time.
"As much as i'd love too, i'm not going to properly as you out now as this isn't really the best setting or timing. So i think that maybe we should go on another date?" she said.
"Wow so subtle there, but i definitely agree" i smiled.
"I think we should get back inside before they start wondering whats gone off"
"Yeah come on" i said pulling her as i was still holding her hands.
"Wait" she pulled me back and pecked me on my lips before pulling me inside. Because of the weather we were both sopping wet. We walked into the living room where everyone else was and they all laughed at our state. Millie went and got us both towels so we could dry ourselves off a little. We all chatted for another hour and a half until we decided that we should probably get home. I was obviously taking Erin but i asked if anyone else needed taking, Guro said yes as she got a taxi here so she could drink.
We all said bye to the others and got into my car. I dropped Erin off first, "See you later guys" she waved before going off into the distance.
Guro climbed in the passenger seat next to me. I turned to her to ask, "Hey, do you want to come back to mine? I'm wet, cold and lazy so i really can't be bothered driving to yours to drop you off".
"Yeah what do you have in mind" she said smirking so i hit her side.
"Shut up and get your mind out the gutter or i'll leave you in the middle of the road"
We got to mine and we both got into comfy, dry clothes. I let Guro borrow some of mine as obviously she didn't have anything on her apart from the damp clothes from earlier. We got in my bed and i turned the tv on. I put on some random Christmas film that was on ITV. She was sitting up and she put her arm around me, so i leant into her side getting comfortable. I could feel her chest going up and down from her steady breathing which relaxed me and the warmth from everything around me was making me sleepy causing my eyes to droop and get more tireder each second and in the end i couldn't help but close them.
Guro's POV:
I was in the bed of the girl i've like for nearly 4 years now and i couldn't be happier. I heard gentle snores from her so i looked down to see that she was sleeping happily with her face nestled into the side of my leg. I couldn't help but take a photo so i could post it, i tagged her but tried to hide it so that the fans wouldn't see it properly as i don't want to draw too much attention to us both. My mind wandered on how lucky i was to be here right now, with such a beautiful girl and after a little while, i turned the lights and tv off and got comfy with Rena by my side.

Who is Rena's mystery ex?? anyway this chapter is my biggest one yet im so proud of myself. just over 3000 bloody words oh my days. ALSO i apologise i was gonna add the stuff for the Champions league of 2022 but i completely forgot and theres just no room in the timeline to sqeeze it in but i'll probably add the 2023 one tho if this story goes that far but i really hope it doessss. Ive broken up for christmas now so im gonna try and be more consistent with writing!!
