As you lay on your bed, your body couldn't stop tossing and turning in your sheets. You were completely restless. The words Nagito told you just kept replaying in a loop inside your mind. No matter how much you told yourself to just forget about it, you just couldn't stop thinking about that game.
'It's just some stupid game. I'm sure no one’s gonna actually fall for it and play it. I should just forget about it and try to get some sleep.' You told yourself in your head as you closed your eyes shut and rolled over, hoping to finally nod off.
But unfortunately, that didn't work. You rolled over on your back and groaned loudly. You ran your hand down your tired face as you stared up at the ceiling, thinking more about it.
'Ugh, looks like I'm not getting some sleep anytime soon. I should just go check it out...Just to see what it's about.' You thought while you swung yourself out of your bed.
You quietly snuck outside your hut and made your way to Jabberrocky Park. The moon illuminated everything around you, making it easier to see.
Your heart was beating out of your chest as you walked around. You never liked being outside at night. It always felt creepy, and it wasn't like it was against the rules to walk about at night, but you didn't wanna risk the chance of someone catching you playing the game.
Once you made it, you spotted the arcade machine and cautiously approached it. 'Alright here it is... Remember, I'm only here to see what it's about and if it is actually dangerous, I'll immediately stop playing.' You reassured yourself.
As you stood in front of it, the screen instantly came to life, flashing a warning screen before showing the main title.
"Twilight Syndrome Murder Case: Investigate edition." It read with a picture of a school in the background. The game had a vintage vibe to it. Perhaps the person controlling Monokuma was actually really old.
You started up the game by clicking one of the buttons. The game began on Day 2 and you saw a girl with black hair named 'Girl A' appear on the screen.
From the dialogue you received, you found out girl A was late to meet up with her friends and had to meet them in class 1-A. You went over to the classroom and there was a group of girls already waiting inside.
Girl B was a little mean and snappy towards Girl A, who seems very cowardly for being late, but the rest were quite nice. The girls had all decided to meet up and talk about what happened in their school's newspaper.
The newspaper reported the discovery of a dead girl in the music room. A blunt object struck her head and soon after she died, while her killer escaped through the window.
The girls say the police think that a pervert might've done it, since her swimsuit was found missing. But it's then revealed that the girls were the first ones to find the body and decided to keep it a secret.
Girl D tells the others that she actually has pictures of the body, and Girl E quickly rips them up and tells her to throw them away.
The girls all agree to throw the pictures away and forget about the incident, but right as Girl A was about to leave, she hears an ominous voice.
The voice began repeating, "I won't forget" over and over again until the words "I will never forgive you", suddenly appear on the screen written in blood.
On day 4, the girls are all gathered in the hallway minding their business until Girl A comes barreling towards them in a hurry.
She tells them that something bad has happened to Girl E inside of classroom 1-B and the other girls immediately say it's because of the curse put on them by the girl who died.
The girls quickly hurry to classroom 1-B and opened the door to find Girl E's dead body with a bloodied baseball bat lying beside her. Just as you thought things were finally heating up, you're met with a game over a screen with the words 'down five' written below.
'What the hell!? This can't be the end of the game. It doesn't make any sense!' You questioned in awe.
"So, what did you think? Pretty good, right?" You heard a familiar shrill voice say and peered down to see it was none other than Monokuma.
"What do I think? I think it's awful! The game abruptly ended, you totally skipped both days 1 and 3, and what does 'down five' even mean!?" You harshly criticized.
"Woah, talk about a rough critique. I'll have you know I poured all my blood, sweat, and tears into this game. This game is a piece of art, so of course, a tasteless person like you wouldn't understand." He huffed.
You merely rolled your eyes at him. "Yeah, whatever, can I just have my prize now?" You asked.
"Aww, that's too bad because I already gave the prize to someone else." He snickered.
"So you're telling me someone else played before me? Who was it?" You questioned him.
"Tee hee, I'm not telling you! You're just gonna have to figure it out by yourself." Monokuma laughed evilly before disappearing.
You let out a frustrated sigh as you threw your hands up in the air. "Some game Monokuma... I'm going back to bed." You mumbled to yourself, before walking back towards the cottages. But on your way there, you heard someone say something from behind you.
"Y/N? Is that you?" Crap, you've been caught. You slowly turn around to see Chiaki staring at you curiously.
"Oh hey Chiaki, I didn't see you there." You nervously greet, trying to play it cool.
"What are you doing out here so late? I thought you already went to sleep?" She asked.
"Oh, I was, but then I was having some trouble sleeping, so I decided to go for a walk around the island." You quickly lied.
Chiaki looked like she wanted to say something else but stopped herself. "I see...That reminds me the other girls wanted me to ask if you wanted to join us tomorrow?" She suggested.
"Join you guys for what?" You inquired.
"Well, Sonia wanted to go swimming at the new beach and wanted all the girls to come." She explained.
"Sounds great! I'd love to go." You enthusiastically told her, but in reality, you just wanted to get back to your hut as fast as possible before she started asking more questions.
"Great, we'll be meeting at the diner after the morning meetings, so make sure to meet us there, okay?" Chiaki said, while slightly smiling.
"Sure thing, I'll see you later Chiaki." You said bye to her and headed towards the cottages. You felt a wave of exhaustion finally hit you as you laid in your bed and fell asleep.

As soon as the morning meeting was done for the day, Akane and you went over to the supermarket to look for swimsuits.
As we were browsing, Akane took out a f/c bikini from the clothes rack and held it in front of you. "What do you think about this one, Y/N?" She asked you.
(You guys can just imagine or search up an image, since it's better for you guys😃)
"It's cute, but I don't know if I'll look good in it..." You sheepishly say as you continued look through the rack.
"Oh, come on! You haven't even tried it on yet." Akane insist as she shoved it into your arms.
You went to try it on in the fitting booth and were surprised to see how much you liked it. It looked nice on you and the color complimented your skin, but you weren't usually used to wear bikinis, so you felt a little exposed.
You walked back out, and Akane's face immediately lit up once she saw you. "See, I told you, you'd look great!" She exclaimed.
"Yeah, it's just... Don't you think it's a little too revealing?" You questioned.
"Relax, it's only going to be us girls and, plus why not show off what you got off?" Akane jestered. You couldn't help but roll your eyes and smile at her remark.
You ended up wearing the bikini, while Akane wore a similar one with stripes on it. Afterwards, Akane and you were on your way to the diner, but as you got closer, you noticed Nekomaru, who seemed training in the distance.
"Oh, look it's Nekomaru!" You said as you pointed over at him.
"Great, I've been itching for another sparring lesson! Wanna join me, Y/N?" She excitedly asked.
"Uh no thanks! He's all yours." You politely declined, mainly because you didn't want to be pummeled again. She shrugged it off and goes speeding over to him, while you continue on your way.
The diner was visible in the distance, and you noticed silhouettes inside, leading you to assume it was the girls there early.
"hey, sorry I'm late-" You say as you entered the doors, but you were immediately taken aback to see not only Kazuchi but also Hajime alongside him.
"Woah, Y/N, you look..." Hajime stammered as his cheeks grew a faint shade of pink.
"Smoking hot!" Kazuchi interjected in an excited tone.
"Thanks boys, but what are you doing here? I thought it was only girls only?" You asked.
"It's just a coincidence! Me and Hajime were heading to the beach together and since you ladies are here, it even seems like destiny." Kazuchi proudly declared, causing Hajime to scoff at that statement.
You were immediately suspicious that these two would just so happen to be here by "chance". It's obvious Kazuchi heard about what we're were doing and dragged Hajime along, but you kept it to yourself.
"I see...Well, then I guess we should just sit and wait for the others to arrive." You suggested.
After taking a seat at a table, Hajime, Kazuchi, and yourself chatted amongst yourself until Ibuki and Mikan later arrived.
At some point, you were zoning out and staring outside the window, but your eyes caught sight of something interesting.
"Oh, hey isn't that Hiyoko?" You spoke up as you saw the small girl run in the opposite direction of the diner with tears in her eyes.
"Hey, don't get my hopes up. I thought it was Miss Sonia." Kazuchi sulked.
"Is she alright? She doesn't look so well." Hajime states as he leans over to get a better look.
"If I had to describe it as a song title, it'd be, "Sprint of tears"!" Ibuki exclaimed.
"And it looks like she's running from the beach. Did something happen?" Mikan wondered.
"She totally ran past us, but isn't she part of the Beach Crew?" Kazuchi asked.
"Apparently, she can't swim, so she turned us down." Mikan explained.
"Well, it just means women are full of surprises. Mahiru's the type to totally come, but she surprisingly turned us down too!" Ibuki added.
"She did? I can't imagine she would say no to an event like this. It seems like something she would plan." You remarked.
"But it can't be helped! Apparently, she wasn't really feeling well!" Ibuki told you. You simply nodded and thought back to Hiyoko. You didn't understand why she would be running from the beach, not to mention crying, but you had a strong feeling something was going on.
Just then we heard the ring of the bell and all turned our attention over to the door to see none other than Chiaki. She was dressed in a white bikini with frills on the skirt and she was carrying a small box.
"My my, how disappointing. I thought if I came early, I'd be the first one to arrive." She sighed disappointedly.
"Wow Chiaki, you look adorable! I didn't expect you to only come in your bathing suit as well?" You complimented her.
"I didn't want to carry it with me. If I did, it'd be a serious burden." She replied.
"But, even though you didn't wanna carry anything, it looks like you're carrying something." Kazuchi gestured at the box she held in her hands.
"Instead of bringing lunch for everyone, I brought ice cream." She stated happily.
"Um... It's not like I'm gonna turn it down, but...Ice cream is completely different from lunch. I don't think it can be used as a substitute..." Mikan mentioned.
"Ah, I was thinking of stuff we could all do at the beach together, so I brought a board game too!" Chiaki said. You couldn't help but chuckle as you realized just how excited Chiaki was for today's activity. Even she didn't seem like the kind of person who would enjoy this kind of fun activity.
We heard the bell ring again and turned around to see Akane walk through with blood dripping from her head.
"H-Hey...Sorry to...Keep you guys waitin'..." She panted heavily as she took a seat.
"What the hell Akane, are you alright!? I left you for a few minutes and you end up like this? Let me go find some napkins to help clean you up." You worriedly say as you grabbed some napkins for the blood.
"Eeeeek! Akane wh-what happened to you?" Mikan squeaked.
"W-What? Is something wrong? I made sure to wear a swimsuit this time." Akane asked, completely oblivious to the blood gushing out of her head.
"Not that, your wounds!" Mikan shouted, while pointing her finger.
"O-Oh, you're talkin' about these. Heh, on my way over here, I happened to run into Coach Nekomaru and when that happens I gotta fight him, y'know!?" Akane chuckled.
"A-Are you really all right? Your head looks split in half." Ibuki nervously commented.
"Well, it'll heal as long as I rub some spit on it, right?" Akane responded nonchalantly.
"You're totally playing up the power of the human spot!" Kazuchi exclaimed.
After that, Mikan pulled Akane into the bathroom to treat her, while the rest of us stayed outside.
"That's why she's the Ultimate Nurse. We'll, it's gonna be okay if we leave it to her." Kazuchi assured.
"What's all this ruckus?" We heard a familiar voice speak up from behind us.
You turned around to gaze at a drenched Peko, wearing a black bikini and her bag slung over her shoulder.
"Hajime and Kazuchi...Why are you two here?" She questioned.
"Hey, aren't you breathing pretty heavily?" Kazuchi pointed out.
"I just did a little swimming..." She casually replied.
"A little swimming?" Hajime asked skeptically.
"I swam around the Island for about three hours." She answers.
"That's too obvious for me not to comment on! That's definitely not a little swimming!" Ibuki blurted out.
"You went swimming already? But I thought all of us were going to go swimming together?" You asked her.
"It wasn't for my enjoyment. I was trying to see if I could swim to a different island, but I couldn't find any other islands. It seems it may be difficult to leave this island by swimming." Peko explained.
"If you didn't see anything after you swam for three hours, it's more than difficult. It's impossible." Hajime stated.
"Anyway, it looks like everyone is almost here and it's almost past 4:00 pm. If so, all that's left is..." Kazuchi began before we heard the diner door's bell ring.
"I am terribly sorry for my delay." We all turned as we heard the sound of Sonia's voice.
"AHHHH MISS SONIA!" Kazuchi shrieked, "Alright, what kind of sexy swimsuit is Miss Sonia wearing!?" He said excitedly, but the sight was far from it.
Sonia came strolling in wearing a full body wetsuit. You could practically see the excitement drain from Kazuchi's face, earning a small chuckle from you.
"GYAAAAH! It's a wetsuit!" He shouted.
"It is to prevent sunburn. I do not want my skin to be damaged. However, as I have never worn a wetsuit before, I had a hard time putting it on, which resulted in my delay." She explained.
"Really, it is my bad." She apologized.
"I see...A wetsuit...Well, Miss Sonia does have beautiful, white skin. But that tight outfit of hers is amaaaazing! Just what I'd expect from a 100% purebred princess!" He gushed, returning right back to his perky self. He sure was quick to recover.
"Anyway, why are you two here?" She asked.
"I'll answer that Miss Sonia. I'll be honest; if you're gonna go to the beach, please let us come with you!" He pleaded.
"Well...It was originally supposed to be a girls-only outing to strengthen our friendship with each other..." Sonia said.
"Do you think you can make an exception!? Pretty please!?" He begged her.
"It's okay. It's not like there'd be any problems, even if there are some boys." Chiaki reassured.
"You're right, and they came all the way here. It would be bad if we made them leave." Sonia agreed.
"Ahh, Miss Sonia is just sooo kind! Alright, now that it's decided, let's get going!" Kazuchi beamed.
"But Akane's wounds are still being treated." Hajime reminded him.
"Shut up! There's no way I can just stand around! I-I'll go on ahead and prepare! I'll set up the parasol and prepare the drinks. I mean it, I promise I'll give it my all to serve you so everyone has fun!" He declared. He quickly ran off, leaving a confused-looking Hajime behind.
"Um...I should go help Kazuchi, too." He mumbled and excused himself, before leaving as well.
"Well, it looks like it's just us..." I awkwardly laughed. That was before, I felt a sudden chill go up my spine. My eyes soon started watering and I couldn't repress a sudden feeling of anxiousness.
'Oh no, it's happening again...' I thought to myself, and it didn't take long before you heard the familiar chime of the body discovery bell.
We all glanced up in shock at the tiny screen in the corner of the room and saw Monokuma announce a dead body being found.
The girls all stared at each other in surprise. "Was that...?" Ibuki silently questioned.
"But it couldn't be..." Sonia mumbled.
The first thought on your mind was to get the boys. "Come on, we have to go get the others." You told everyone. They nodded, and we immediately ran off towards the beach.
Once we got there, we saw Hajime not too far away and approached him. "Hajime! Thank God you're alright. That announcement just now it couldn't be, right?..." You trailed off, still in shock at the situation.
"I know I heard it too...B-But that's impossible!?" He said unsure, but just then we heard a scream come from inside the beach house.
"S-Someone come here!" We heard a panicked Kazuchi shout and raced over to the front of the beach house. You mentally prepared yourself as the door was slung open and the sight unleashed in front of you was astonishing.
You gasped and clasp a hand over your mouth in horror. You didn't want to believe, you would rather pretend this was all a dream. One sick messed up dream than accepting it. But here it was, the ugly truth laying right in front of you.
The entire floor was splattered in blood with a bloodied bat and mask lying there. And the student lying dead on the floor in a large puddle of blood was none other than...Mahiru Koizumi...
