Lissy Romano
"Thank you for today." I said and kissed Blake's cheek
He looked at me with a small smile on his lips and nodded his head.
"Go home, Lis." he said as he ruffled my hair
"See you tomorrow then, okay?" I asked as I bit my lower lip
"Yeah." he said and I hesitated before I asked him
"Did I do something wrong?" I asked, looking into his big eyes
He was way colder than he is usually.
"No, you didn't." he lied, what he said wasn't true
I know it by looking at his face expression. He is my best friend after all.
"Tell me, are you mad at me?" I wanted to know
"I'm not." he muttered
"Is that about Dorian?" I asked and he looked away
He suddenly changed after Dorian showed up.
"I don't like that guy." Blake said honestly
"Why not? He's sweet and handsome and..." I blushed again, but he cut me off
"I don't want to hear the rest. See you tomorrow, Lis." Blake said and without me realizing, he was already on his motorcycle and out of Romano property
I made my way to the front door and when I walked inside Jax greeted me while wagging his tail.
"Hey, boy. I missed you too." I smiled and crouched down to pet him
After rubbing Jax's belly, I made my way upstairs to my room. I jumped in my bed and sighed.
I don't know what I did to upset Blake. It's hard to understand boys. Even though I have eight older brothers.
Sharp knock on my door got my attention, I turned to face the door.
"Come inside." I said loudly and seconds later I saw my brother Vincenzo
I don't remember the last time I talked with him. He is always working these days. Even on weekends he is busy.
"Lissy," he started as he sat on the edge of my bed before I wrapped my arms around him
I closed my eyes and inhaled his cologne, he always smells so good.
"I missed you." I whispered as I rested my head against his chest
He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me even closer to him.
"Sweetheart, I'm sorry. I should spend more time with you, I'm just trying to give you the best life." he said softly
"I already have it, but it will be better if you come home earlier and be with me a little while longer." I smiled as I felt his hands running through my hair
"I wanted to talk to you..." he started, but I cut him off again
"Did I do something wrong?" I asked in fear of disappointing him
I still want his attention and approval, like a little kid.
"No, you didn't. It's about your safety." he explained and I nodded my head, "Let's go downstairs, dinner is ready."
"Okay." I muttered before standing up
"You had fun with Blake, hmm?" he hummed and I smiled a little
So everyone knows about that. That's what you get when you have brothers.
"Of course, but after we saw Dorian, Blake was different." maybe brother can explain Blake's reaction
"Dorian?" Vincenzo asked with raised eyebrows
What did you just do, Lissy? Questioning can start now...
"Who's Dorian?" he asked again
"Matteo's friend, from the fighting club. He is sweet." I added to give him a good first impression
"And Blake doesn't like him?" Vincenzo asked and I nodded my head
"No, he doesn't. And he...he didn't want to hear anything about Dorian either. It was weird." I shrugged my shoulders
"Interesting." he bit the inside of his cheek, "If Blake doesn't like him, I don't like that guy either." he added
Here comes the protective Vincenzo. Nothing new.
"But I like him." I smiled lightly
"What do you mean, like him?" he stopped immediately and turned to face me
"He is cute and respectful. You would like him, I'm hundred percent sure." I smiled genuinely
"Forget about it." Giovanni's voice from behind me, made me flinch
"What?" I couldn't understand what he meant
"Boys are no good. Forget about him." Gio repeated as he set his hand on my shoulder
"It's not fair, Vincenzo, tell him something..." I started and he didn't seem to be phased
"Gio is right. You have friends and that's it, there will be no boyfriend." he said sharply
"That's not fair." I crossed my arms
"Life is not fair, baby." Gio kissed my cheek and Vincenzo took my hand in his
They led me to the dining room and I was still looking at them with confusion.
Why are they so against the idea of me having a boyfriend.
Walking into the dining room was weird, there were all of my brothers except Santino.
How lucky I am. Note the sarcasm.
"Hey, sweetie." Domenico greeted as he stood up and took my hand to pull me on the seat next to him, he kissed the top of my head
I looked at Matteo who was sitting there, completely ignoring me.
I gasped when someone threw green pea at me.
"What the fuck?" I made eye contact with Enzo and he smirked at me, "Why did you do that?" I asked angrily as I grimaced
"Can't say 'hi' to your brothers anymore?" Enzo asked with raised eyebrows
"Our princess is angry." Vincenzo said as he pinched my cheek
I rolled my eyes and started eating the food that was on my plate.
"She likes a boy." Gio said and I blushed stupidly
"Name?" Dante clenched his jaw
"None of your business..." I started and Vincenzo cut me off
"Dorian." he bit the inside of his cheek and I sighed
Matteo stood up from his chair and lost his temper.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?" he yelled at me and I frowned
"Calm down." Gio warned him
"He's my friend, you took fighting away from me and now you want to take my friend too?" he yelled even louder
I froze and looked at him with watery eyes. I can understand his reaction, but he doesn't control my life.
I stood up from my chair and he looked at me with so much anger. I wasn't scared because I know that Matteo would never put his hands on me. None of them would.
"I didn't took fighting away from you, I was worried that they might kill you. I am so sorry that I care for you. Is that what you wanted to hear?" I asked in confusion, "And watch your tone when you speak to me. You are my brother, but I won't let you treat me like this." I spat out angrily
He was too stunned, didn't say anything and left the room without saying a word.
