"I may be tired, but I won't let you take me without a fight," you retorted, your voice surprisingly steady despite your exhaustion.

Chuuya chuckled, a dangerous glint in his eyes. "Well, let's see how long you can keep up the act."

You glared at him, determination burning in your eyes. "Just try me."

At your response, with a wicked grin, Chuuya took a step forward, ready to unleash his formidable abilities. His coat billowed around him as he summoned his crimson aura, a telltale sign that he was about to tap into his formidable power.

Akutagawa, on the other hand, remained calm and composed. His coat, bearing the jagged edges of Rashomon, subtly shifted as he prepared to unleash his own lethal abilities. The dark energy surrounding him seemed to pulse with anticipation.

With lightning reflexes, you dodged Chuuya's kick, feeling the tremors beneath your feet as the ground cracked from the impact. Meanwhile, Shade, healed from his injuries and fueled by your determination, lunged forward to intercept Akutagawa's attacks. His sturdy body shielded you from the lethal onslaught, displaying unmatched loyalty and courage. The panther faced the Port Mafia member with fierce resolve, his golden eyes glowing with defiance.

Chuuya, impressed by your agility, couldn't help but acknowledge your skill. "Not bad," he muttered, a hint of begrudging respect in his voice. He gathered his energy once more, preparing for another assault.

Akutagawa, undeterred by Shade's defensive stance, unleashed his Rashomon, the dark tendrils snaking toward you. With swift reflexes, you commanded Shade to counter the attack, and the panther-like creature swiftly maneuvered, deflecting the dark energy with his powerful claws.

"You won't last long," Akutagawa assured, his eyes narrowing as he intensified his attacks.

However, they couldn't reach you as Shade had contered them with great force. But you couldn't have the luxury to observe them, another fierce attack came right behind you, wich you evaded in time.

"Great dodge little mouse, but you should still be wary, it's not over yet!" Chuuya retorted with excitement as he continued his attacks.

Chuuya's taunting remark about "little mouse" had touched a nerve, and you couldn't resist delivering a retort, letting your annoyance show. "Mouse? You're not much better, considering you're a whole 16 centimeters shorter than me. Yet, you act like you're on top of the world. Grow up - oh, sorry, I forgot you can't anymore." Your words stung, and rage in Chuuya's eyes showed, replacing his excitement.

"What did you say? I'll show you the true meaning of facing death!" Chuuya snarled, driven by anger.

Despite your injuries, you managed to dodge Chuuya's attacks with impressive agility, fueled by a mix of determination and annoyance at his taunts. Each strike he aimed at you was met with a swift evasion, despite the difficulty you faced due to your injuries.

Chuuya's anger only intensified as you continued your taunt. "What? What I said is true though," you retorted, a smirk playing on your lips. Your words hit a nerve, and Chuuya's bloodlust only grew stronger.

His attacks became more furious, fueled by his emotions. But paradoxically, his emotional state made him somewhat predictable. Your keen senses and quick reflexes allowed you to anticipate his moves and dodge his strikes, frustrating him even further.

"Stop making useless struggling and come with us like the good girl you are!"

You raised your eyebrow, "Where do you see this good girl? I'm just a normal girl who want to enjoy her awaiting night meal at home."

At your sentence, he snickered, "A normal girl? This is quite funny. You seem more like a ticking time bomb."

"That doesn't change the fact that I'm hungry as hell!" you retorted.

"Please (Y/N)! This is not the time to think about food!" Elyndore snapped with anger and exasperation.

As the battle continued, you knew for a fact that they were strong and that Shade, along with you, would not be enough to face them. You took a decision and drawing upon your remaining strength, you focused on your dwindling energy reserves.

Elyndor would scold you later, that is for sure, but it didn't matter, you had to finish this quickly and you knew it, considering your condition with Dazai. With a swift motion, you summoned the sole summon you could manage with your remaining energy, calling upon again Mirage, the ethereal fox, who landed on your shoulder.

Mirage immediately created numerous illusions of you and Shade that moved or remained still around you, confusing your adversaries and obscuring your true position.

Chuuya's eyes widened in surprise as his gravity-manipulated attacks passed harmlessly through the illusions. "What... How?"

Determination fueled your actions as you seized the opportunity with unwavering resolve, commanding Shade to attack.

With a fierce roar, he stopped defending and pounced on Akutagawa, forcing him to defend against the onslaught. In the midst of the battle, you caught sight of Dazai, still unconscious on the ground, and knew it was your chance to take to reach safety with him.

You grabbed Dazai by the shoulder, and began to limp away from your ennemies toward the opposite side of alley, hoping you would find another way to escape from your adversaries as you relied on Shade and Mirage to create diversions.

As you moved, your injuries weighed heavily on you, reminding you that you couldn't afford to stop. Mirage's illusions created distractions, leading Chuuya and Akutagawa on wild goose chases, while Shade struck swiftly and decisively to gather as much of their attention as possible, making the perfect distraction to allow you to escape.

Determination coursed through your veins as you crossed the alley, knowing that your escape relied on your ability to outwit and outmaneuver the formidable foes pursuing you. With Dazai in your arms, you pressed forward, determined to reach safety and regroup with your allies from the Armed Detective Agency.

Then, you noticed a narrow alley nearby and quickly increased your pace. As you managed to enter the alley, you heard Chuuya's voice.

"Okay, that is enough now, little mouse! You want to play? We will play!"

Then, the ground shook, and the energy of Shade disappeared, indicating that he was defeated. He wasn't in danger anymore and could recover, but it signified that it was just a matter of time before they saw through Mirage's illusions and came after you.

"Already? What monsters they are!" you exclaimed through your breath as you accelerated your pace.

As you moved, you turned your head to see if they were behind you, but nothing came into your view yet. You then looked at Dazai beside you and scolded his unconscious state, "Seriously, why don't you wake up now? Someone is struggling here to keep us alive!"

Mirage, on your left shoulder, looked at Dazai on the other side of her and growled. She approached him by passing behind your neck, and when she was at the level of Dazai's head, she hit him with her little front paw on the face to make him wake up. However, all it could do was make him frown a little, making her even more annoyed. She then began to hit his face repeatedly with all her might, but nothing could be done. Dazai was truly knocked out and seemed he would take his sweet time before waking up.

"You should really wake up now, Dazai! Right now is not the time to be sleeping, princess!" you snapped. "Moreover, you should seriously consider my limits to carrying you! I'm not a horse!"

As you moved forward through the labyrinth of alleys, you felt your throat dry, and you were beginning to be short of breath, your body giving you all the signs that it was reaching its limits.

Then, it couldn't hold it any longer, and despite your will, your legs gave out under you.

"Shit! Not now!" you exclaimed through a few breaths as you were on your knees, still holding Dazai with your arm.

The best and only thing you could do was do your best to recuperate quickly to continue your escape.

After some minutes, you managed to catch your breath. You immediately got up without wasting any more time and moved forward the best you could.

As you passed through the alleys, you then caught sight of a light at the end of one alley. It was your exit. You took your chance as you crossed this alley where its light at its end gave you a new source of hope. You accelerated your pace without hesitation, seeing already your future self enjoying the welcoming meal awaiting you at home.

However, as you were near the end, you heard Chuuya's laughter echoing behind you, mocking and taunting.

"You sure know how to defend yourself and escape. But running won't save you, little mouse. We'll catch you eventually."

Hearing his voice, you felt a shiver run down your spine as Mirage growled at your enemies right behind you. You urged your pace the more quickly you could afford to, determined to escape from their clutches. However, Akutagawa, silent as ever, merely extended his ability, creating a barrier in front of you, blocking your path toward the only exit. With no other option, you skidded to a halt, desperately searching for an escape route, but it was now a dead end.

You stopped for a moment, took a deep breath, and then put Dazai against the wall beside you before you turned over, determined to defend yourself until the end as you faced your enemies again.

"You sure know how to get on someone's nerve." Akutagawa grumbled.

While Chuuya's grin only widened. "It's game over for you, miss. You have nowhere to run. So, do you still want to put up a fight?"

You frowned at his words. "As if I would let you take me easily. Don't underestimate me."

Chuuya smirked. "It's all good for this and that, but it's now time to finish our little cat and mouse game."

As he said that, he disappeared for a second before appearing before you, throwing a punch. You managed to evade it in time, but as you avoided his attacks, you were caught by dark tendrils, taking both of you and Mirage by surprise. You looked up urgently and saw it was Akutagawa's Rashomon that had caught you. You struggled the more you could, trying desperately to free yourself from the ability. Mirage tried her best to bite down on the ability, but nothing could be done. You had no strength left.

Then, Mirage was grabbed by a gloved hand before being thrown against the wall nearby. She disappeared in a light brown light.

In that moment, your hopes broke. You had been outmaneuvered, and you knew it. They were strong, too strong for you alone in this state. It was certain you could have your chance if you were in perfect condition, but your previous battle against the Angels' members didn't help at all and just put you in a tired state. Having used all energy and possibilities, you couldn't do anything and were powerless against these two overpowered mafia members.

But you didn't want to give up, not after all you went through. You didn't escape those idiots Angel's members just to be caught by another organisation. You didn't even do anything wrong yet to gather any special attention. You struggled with all your might, thinking it truly wasn't your day, until you felt a damp cloth on your mouth, coming from behind, wich took you by surprise. You tried to shake your head to escape the cloth, but you couldn't shake off the gloved hand that was keeping it on your mouth. When you turned your eyes on the owner of the gloved hand, you encountered your gaze with a wide smirk from Chuuya.

"Didn't I say it? Our game is finished. It's game over for you."

After he said that, you tried again to shake off his hand, but you felt your forces gradually leaving you, your eyebrows beginning to feel heavy.

'Not yet...I can...still...'

And then, everything went black.
