"Where's Jill ?" Christi asks
"Jill is not an official member of this competition team, she would like to think so but I may forgive people but I don't forget. So congratulations on order we had an amazing trip to Lancaster I entered four solos to the competition and I had four girls in the top ten." Abby says
We clap.
"This week we are going to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania." Abby says
"Yes." Melissa beams
"Let's start with the pyramid on the bottom we have Paige, Paige had an outstanding performance she was sixth overall highscore and then accidents happen she might be out a week or maybe she might be able to dance today." Abby says
"Mackenzie, Mackenzie if you're at a competition, you're there to learn." Abby says
"And next Brooke, Brooke because of your maturity through rehearsal all week is why you're there."
"Next we have Naïla," I furrow my eyebrows,"Naïla great execution of the solo. Also remarkable performance in the duet." Abby says

We smile at each other.

"Chloe you've been asking me for years about a duet with you and Paige." Abby says

"Moms I'm going to dismiss you go ahead and go you guys get the ballet barre out we're gonna start with the barre." Abby says

Four days to competition
"Five, six, seven, plié and one and two." Abby count as we jump

We finish the ballet section and move on the group.
Chloe go hug Paige, Paige is in a boot. They're definitely not doing the duet together. Poor Chloe.
We all go to hug her.
"You just joined the I have a broken bon club,congratulations." I say

Three days to competition
We enter the studio and the Zieglers are at the front desk.
"Maddie and Naïla has to fly out tomorrow morning to do Drop Dead Diva." Melissa says
"The solos comes first." Abby says

I stop and stand at the front desk.
"I don't want you to go away this weekend and look the yahoo who doesn't know what they're doing this tv thing is a special event. But I wish you were here for rehearsal and that group dance better be perfect." Abby says to

Solo rehearsal
"Naïla let's get started we have one day to learn the solo and perfect it before you fly away, right ?" Abby says
I nod

I learn the dance and it is really cool, it's lyrical.

I get in my start pose and start the dance.
I run in a few mores times with minimals corrections from Abby and get dismissed.

Two days to competition
I'm in Atlanta with Melissa and Maddie. Mom and Melissa agreed for me to go with her and mom is going to watch on Nia and Mackenzie.
"You're nervous ?" Melissa asks us as the taxi moves
"Pretty much." Maddie reply
"Yes." I say
"Don't be it'll be fun." Melissa says
Maddie and I smile at her.
The taxi drop us in front of the place we're going to film.
I go in the building and people greets us.
I go in the makeup and hair room with Maddie while Melissa is talking with people from set.
"Hello." Maddie and I says to the makeup ladies
"Here goes our two actresses." The lady says as we sit on chairs in front of her
She look likes she's from Latin America.
"We're just going to do minimal touches. You already both have angels faces." She says
"Oh and I'm Gwen by the way." She says
"Like Gwen Stephanie ?" I ask
Maddie nudges me in the shoulder.

"Yeah like her, what are your names ?" Gwen asks
"I'm Maddie." Maddie says
"I'm Naïla." I say
"You both have pretty names." She says, we thank her
She does our makeup then, Maddie and I change into leotards since our first scene is a dance rehearsal.
Maddie put on a lavender leotard flowers that go from the collar to the end of the leotard with black flair dance pants while I put a the same leotard but in fuchsia with grey flair dance pants.

"Action !" The director yells for the 7 time we do the scene

"Deb stop complaining it's almost national and we are nowhere with this dance." I say annoyed
"Just...try it again." Shannon scoffs, Maddie sigh
Maddie do a tilt again and fall. Maddie stomp on the floor with my hand.
"Deb stop doing so dumb mistakes the dance is not hard. It's going to make me look bad." I say
"Zoe just stop. The nationals are next week, you've gotta push yourself Deb." Shannon says
"I can't do it !" Maddie yell
"Well not with that attitude, you can not so. Again !" Shannon says
Maddie and I do a tilt for the third time.
"Cut !" The director yells
"Ok it was the final take let's have a break and then do the second scene." The director says
We walk over Melissa.
"You both did great." Melissa says
We thank her, drink some water and then go to the makeup room.
Maddie and I put on the Inside Of Me costume.
We go in a studio that has a fake stage.
We were told what to do. We filmed this scene a couple time but messed up, I think this time is the one.
"Action !" The director yells for us to do the seventh take
We do the Inside of me dance on a different music which is weird to. Maddie do a leap and fall.
"You're okay ?" Shannon ask as Maddie still on the floor
Maddie continue to dance along with me. We finish the dance and take a bow,we go to the dance teacher.
"Why wouldn't you change my routine ?" Maddie asks
"Deb it was fi-" Shannon says, Maddie cut her off
"Leave me alone, you're a terrible teacher. You've ruined my life." Maddie says and leave
"Deb wait." I say following Maddie
"Cut !" The director yells, everyone clap
Melissa come over us.
"Great job, girls . You were so good." Melissa says
"Thanks." Maddie reply
"Thank you." I say
Shannon congrats us too. We say goodbye to everyone, takes some photos and leave. It was a wonderful day.

Nia and mom already are in the studio but since I've talked with Maddie instead I walk in with the Ziegler's.
"Hello." Abby says as we walk in
"How was it ?" Abby asks us

"We did two scenes and we did a duet on this fake stage and we did a dance scene at a studio." Maddie says
"How was your dancing did they say anything were they impressed ?" Abby asks us
"After it was all finished they stood up and clapped for them." Melissa says
"Ah standing ovation what did you learn ?" Abby asks
"We need to learn how to use my emotion when we act." we say
"So when you act you need to emote like you do when you're dancing, yes ?" Abby says

"Oh there it is aldc !" Abby says as approach the dressing room
Mom helps Nia and I to get ready for the group and we all go backstage.
"Hope we do good, we weren't there after all." I say to Maddie

"Next up small group musical theatre category, Alouette !" The announcer says
I was the first one to go on and I think I did amazing + it's ballet themed !
We get offstage and I hug Maddie.
"We did amazing." I say
"We killed it." Maddie says
We get tot the dressing room.
"How do you think you did ?" mom asks me
"Great." I say
"Did you see the part I messed up ?" Brooke asks as she walks to her mom
Abby walks in.
"Was it exactly that je ne sais quoi that I was hoping for, it was more like comme si, comme ça." Abby says

"Alright folks we're gonna find out who our top junior petite group is." The announcer says
We announce third and then second. We might win.
I hold Maddie and Chloe's hand.
"It's now time to announce our top overall junior group winner, give it up for Aloutte. Abby Lee dance company."
We all stood up and took a bow.
We go in the dressing room.
"Woohoo !" We all exclaim as we walk in the dressing room
"Congratulations ladies ! I saw a lot of mistakes how did you pull that out ?" Abby says
"Mackenzie and Brooke are up first do you know all the changes ? Confident ?" Abby asks
"Kay." Abby says as mom curl my hair
"Brooke how's the back ?" Abby asks
"It still hurt." Brooke says
"You need use your pain in your dance yes ?" Abby says

We get in the audience to watch Mackenzie dance.

We go to the dressing room and then Kenzie comes in.

"It hurts when she breathes I don't know how she's going to do it. I got her ice I put this on I can't let her hurt herself for a dance it's obviously hurting her to do it i want her to do it she wants to do it but I don't think she can." Kelly says
"Brooke it didn't have anything to do with all those other girls were warming up." Abby says
"Abby it was hurting her before we even came into this building." Kelly says
"Brooke ! If you're going to continue stand like a 3 year old with this sway back it's going to hurt you and I both know that lazy gets you nowhere. I gave you an amazing routine and now you're not going to do it nobody's ever going to see it ?!" Abby says

"Alright here we go folks junior soloist." the announcer says
I hold Maddie hand tight.
"Third place the score 288 it's going to 455 lily through the dance kids." the announcer says
"Second place with the score of 293 number 589, The Reason, Naïla Abby Lee dance company." the announcer says
I am second, like last week. Abby wants me to be a winner not a loser, I didn't want let her down. I'm sorry.
"Our top overall junior soloist, This Is Me Over You, Maddie from Abby Lee." the announcer says
"Line up with the top ten." the announcer says to Maddie
I side hug her.
We go sit back down, Nia hug me.
The duet got first !
We go back to the dressing room.
"Woohoo." We cheer
"Congratulations ladies !" Abby says

I sit next Maddie.
"I watched you step into these moves.. you nailed those huh ?" Abby asks Maddie, she smiles and nod
"Talk about drop dead diva you are the diva yes ?" Abby says, Maddie smiles softly
"Listen I blocked out the whole drop dead diva routine because I wanted you concentrate on the group and your number but now that the group and you solo won. I want to see what they had you and Naïla do so can you show it to me ? I'm sure everyone else wants to see it too." Abby says
We get up and do the dance, when I finish ; I go next to my mom.
"You're just kinda rubbing this in everyone's face." Christi says
"I'm not rubbing it in everyone's face." Abby says I look down and bite my cheek.
"Your name and your reputation what you want them to step their best foot forward." Christi says
"So I think that next time we have the opportunity to do an audition everyone should get the opportunity." Kelly says
Nobody is really mad about me getting the role cause anyone could have it but for Deb role they needed a blonde and if you noticed Maddie has brown hair.
Melissa takes Maddie out of the room.
"Where is she going ?" Abby says
"I don't know where she's going." mom says
"Maddie !" Abby calls
"Because of the vultures in this room." Abby says
"No Abby." Christi says
"No." mom says
"And you know who creates the vultures it's you because you try to turn all of these kids against their friend and that little girl is mortified all the times but you don't care." Christi says
"I have heard you say to her to that little nine years old girl No one would be happy for you everyone jealous of you." Christi says
"You are ! Look at you !" Abby says
"No I'm not ! No we're not !" Abby says
"You have sabotage my daughter and the rest of the kids !" Christi yells
"Your daughter is a little sneak." Abby says
Oh no.
Chloe goes out of the room crying.
We all go look for her.
I hug Chloe.
"It's alright." I comforts her
After the drama everything seems a little more calm even if Abby stormed out of the competition.
We then pack our bags and go home.
