Y/n P.O.V
Finally returning to my home after a long day of school, I unlocked my front door and entered. Shutting the door, I called out to the others.
Y/n: I'm back!
???: About damn time!
I let out a low sigh. I probably should have remembered that Kaine was... well, kind of a short fuse when it came to her temper. This whole story thing really wasn't gonna do me any favours either... Taking a deep breath, I entered the living room and saw everyone had actually made themselves comfortable, sitting down on the sofas.
Kaine: So, you want to start giving us some answers now? You made us wait this long.
Nier: Kaine...
Y/n: Its a really, REALLY long story.
9s: Well, we don't know how to get back so we might as well hear it.
Commander: 9s, next time refer to me before you go through with something.
9s: S-Sorry Commander.
Commander: But I do agree with 9s. If you have information about us, we'd all like to hear it.
A2: Hold on.
A2 stood up, walked towards me and raised a hand to my face. She gently touched my eye, making me wince.
A2: The hell happened to you?
Y/n: Nothing. Just... bunch of idiots trying to act tough is all.
Devola: I usually only see marks like that in a bar fight back home. Which is pretty rare.
Popola: May I take a look at it?
Y/n: I'll be fine. Honest. I'm just gonna get some ice and that should stop any swelling or further bruising.
I entered the kitchen, opened up the freezer and got out a bag of ice. With the bag of ice in hand, I returned to the living room and held it up to my eye, taking a seat on the arm of a sofa.
Y/n: Right... Now the story...
Nier: Actually, before you start. I've got a question about the games you know us from. Every video game's got a title, right? So what's the game we're from?
Y/n: Its actually two different games. The androids are a sequel to your story.
Nier: Huh? So those guys (points to androids) are from our future?
Y/n: Pretty much. You're from the game "Nier Replicant" and they're from Nier Automata.
Yonah: So both games are named after big brother?
I nodded.
Y/n: Yeah. Although, he's not really in Automata. Well, I mean... In a sense, he kind of is...?
Kaine: How so?
Y/n: Well... Every android was created with inspirations from the Replicants. This included both you Nier and Kaine. I'm... Honestly a little surprised you guys haven't noticed the similarities.
9s + Nier: About how we look and act the same kind of?
The duo looked at each other, surprised at the synchronisation.
Y/n: Yeahhhhh, like that.
Grimmoire Weiss: I was thinking the boys looked and spoke in very similar tones.
2b: This is... not what I was expecting. Don't games have beginnings and endings? How does ours end?
I opened my mouth to speak, but I immediately remembered how their games ended. How ALL of their games ended. I couldn't just tell them that! Could I? But... Maybe if I tell them, their fates can be avoided? But what if they don't take it well? I know I wouldn't. Ugh... This is a mess to figure out! I'll hold off on it for now, try and build up a little bit of trust with them. That way they don't try to lash out at me.
Y/n: I, uhh... Haven't really gotten around to finishing your games. N-Not yet, at least. I've been neck deep in homework that I've not gotten much of a chance to play the games properly.
Nier: Oh... But hey! This could be a new learning experience for all of us! What if we play or what if we watch you play?
Y/n: H-Huh?! What kind of idea is that?!
Nier: Well, I just... Thought it'd be interesting. That's all.
Commander: Well we don't really know how these video games work. So unless you want some of your property damaged, I think maybe you should stick to playing the games. I'm sure the rest of us will be fine with watching.
I rubbed the back of my head with my free hand, still holding up the bag of ice to my eye.
Kaine: I've got better things to do than just sit on my ass all day.
A2: I would agree too, but we don't exactly know how this world works. Or what lies beyond it except for what those red head twins told us.
Kaine: Well, exploring beats staying cooped up in here!
Y/n: U-Uhh, hold on a second, let's just all cool down a little.
Before I could get in between them, Kaine pulled out her blades on me, prompting me to take a step back.
Kaine: Don't even try it. For all we know, YOU could've brought us here and you're now playing dumb!
9s: W-Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Wait! You can't just kill him!
Kaine: Watch me!
She raised her sword, ready to swing down on me, but I remembered something about Kaine's body. On instinct, I reeled my right foot back and kicked her right in between her legs. Immediately, she dropped her weapons and collapsed onto her knees, holding her genitalia, gasping for breath.
A2 couldn't help but let out a little laugh from the intense build-up to a comedic ending.
Nier: H-Holy... Dude...
Y/n: What?! She was coming at me with two swords!
Grimmoire Weiss: While it was crude, I can't say it wasn't deserved considering her hastiness.
Commander: Seems like you know how to handle yourself.
Y/n: I've gotten into my fair share of fights. Nothing like any of yours though, just more of street brawls. People trying to rob me or bully me for the hell of it.
Kaine: D-Damn you...!
Y/n: Look, I'm sorry it came to that, but you were about to attack me! What else was I gonna do?! Roll over and die?!
Devola: He's got a point.
Nier helped Kaine up to her feet, only to put her back down on the sofa. She still held both her hands over that particular area. I felt bad for exploiting her... "defect", but she didn't really leave me with much choice.
Commander: So what happens now?
Y/n: Now? I... Have no idea. I don't exactly have enough beds for all of you and I'm a little worried about Kaine trying something again.
Kaine: Screw you...
Nier: Sounds reasonable.
Popola: Well... Why don't you tell us a bit more about this world?
Y/n: Oh boy... If I do that, then we're gonna be here for a long time. I've got something else that can help.
Opening my backpack for school, I pulled out my laptop and logged in. I then opened up Chrome and placed the device on the table.
Y/n: Just type anything that you wanna know and you can get your answers. That's the wonder of the Internet in this day and age.
9s: Right. And you're okay with us using this?
Y/n: Yeah. Besides its not really my laptop. Its one I borrowed from the school, but they don't really care much about their devices. Provided I hand it back to them.
2b: Thank you, Y/n.
Y/n: Don't mention it. Now, I'm gonna head up to my room and get some sleep. Try not to wake me up unless its absolutely urgent.
Yonah: We won't. Thank you mister.
I smiled softly and nodded, leaving the living room and heading upstairs.
While I seemed so normal on the outside, I was freaking out internally! I just kicked Kaine right in her unmentionables! KAINE! OF ALL PEOPLE! I was so FUCKING DEAD! I bet as soon as she recovers, she's gonna jam those swords right up my ass and split me in two! Or if we're going by her logic...
Just the thought of that happening sent shivers down my spine. Once I reached my room, I tossed the bag of ice into the freezer in my room, alongside many other bags of ice.
Not wasting a single moment, I jumped into my bed, curled up under my blanket and fell asleep.
If only I knew where those guys' search on the Internet would take them, I would've suggested I should be there to advise what they did look at and what they didn't.
