That little bit of consciousness

While thunder overtakes my mind
helpless as a child
a little bit of consciousness is helping me

while my hands throw themselves
while I hit my head against shelves
a little corner of my mind is talking to me calmly

as I'm trembling over my words
as my heart stutters its beats
that little self aware voice is calling for me

do you know what it says?

it says
'I am'
it says
'you are'
it says
'we are'
it says
'the moment'

it says
'you are angry, you are frustrated,  you are human, you are sad, you are helpless, you feel depressed, you are at your limit, you feel betrayed, you feel unheard, you feel unseen, you are you,'

and there is something so relieving in those words

it brings me back to myself when I loose it, it's

That little bit of consciousness.
