You need to challenge yourself so if your legs here find the girl in class who's leg is here and go stand next to her at the barre fight for that, that's how you get better you have to want to win more than I want it for you." "Now I wanna talk about this weekend we will be travelling to Ohio." Abby announces
"Oh no." We all say in unison.
"We might see Kendall." Abby says
"Oh no." we all say again
"We might see Vivi-Anne." Abby says, we make annoyed faces
"All I know is the Abby Lee Dance Company will be so hot that they will become apple pie and your group is going to be amazing, the name of the group dance is Land Unforgiving it's about territory we are going to Cathy's territory we are going to stick a stake right into that beef jerky everyone standing before me is in the group dance however I'm going to bring in a few ringers in just like the wicked witch of the west."
"Okay let's start with the bottom of the pyramid..Brooke, you're still on probation."
"Next we have Mackenzie, how did you get down there ? What happened ?" Abby starts to mimick chewing gum
"How many times did I tell you to spit your gum out ?" Abby asks
"Maybe ten ?" Kenzie says annoyed
"So that's nine times too many." Abby says
"Next Nia, I think you're there because you had time with those turns and it was your legs that needed straightened that technique you worked on what happened ?"
"Next we have Paige, you see that probation sticker ? Hopefully that's gonna come off of there."
"Next we have Chloe, group dance is where you made the mistake solo, the was good."
"The first person at the top of the pyramid is Naïla and second person on the top of the pyramid is Maddie ." Abby says
It's weird but I hug Maddie still.
"Paige you're eleven you're going to be one of our title entrant 9-11." Abby says, we all clap for Paige
"You will be doing Tongue Twister, it's your responsibility to know it she will not have a rehearsal, she's welcome to use the studio but she has to get in here on her own and I want to see a crown on her head, do you understand ?" Paige nods
"Alright so i'm going to tale this probation off." We all go hug Paige
"Chloe you will also be doing a solo it's entitled Angry Bird."
"Alright so ladies , you are dismissed thank you, girls spread apart really quick let's go." Abby says, I start to stretch and turns

Five days to competition
"Girls listen to me we are going to next door neighbour and we are taking their territory she always throws those ringers in there i'm gonna pull in three ringers in too I would like to introduce Katherine from the elite company." Abby says we all clap
"Hi." Katherine says while smiling, I smile at her. She's really someone at the studio I look at to become a better dancer
"And this is Ariel from the teen company." Abby says, we all clap and shout
"And this is Nina who you all know from the senior company." Abby says, we all clap and shout
We start to learn the dance, I really like it it's really elegant and slow. I love it.
"Ball change ! Use your plié ! Don't dance like a stick Chloe." Abby says while we dance
Katherine and the two other girls are really good.
"1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8" Abby counts as we dance
"Okay everybody you're dismissed Paige you need to be in class so do you." Abby points to Brooke
I go to gymnastics class, oh I love it. It's been a long time I didn't do acro.
I do front and side aerials, front and back tuck, front and back handspring.
I finish acro class and go to my classes until the end of the day.

Three days to competition
We finished ballet. Chloe goes to her solo rehearsal while I go in technique.
I finish technique and go in the den and sit to drink water.
Abby comes out of studio A with Chloe.
"Naïla, come in studio C one sec'." Abby says
I put my bottle in my bag.
I got up from the bench and follow Abby.
"I want you to do a solo." Abby says, I'm confused
"This week ?" I ask
"Yeah this week. I don't think Paige or Chloe has a chance to win, you're my only hope." Abby says, I fidget with my fingers
What if Chloe and Paige get mad ?
Kelly and Christi will kill me.
I'm nervous.
"Ok." I reply
"It's musical theater, long time no see. The solo is called Violet, let's do it." Abby says
"Start stage left with your arms crossed over your back." Abby says
"Grand plié, bring your leg and then get in a pirouette position and double tap on your leg on the beat." Miss Abby tells me, I do so
I learn the dance, it's very technical.
"Come let's run it with the music till the end of the hour." Abby says, I nod as I wipe sweat of my forehead
I run it for the first time with music, I really really really like this dance.
"You did gooood !" Abby exclaims
"That's why you're my golden girl." Abby says
I chuckle awkwardly, what was I meant to do ?
I do the dance several times till the end of the hour and then get dismissed.
I go meet my mom upstairs to take my tap shoes that I left with her.
"How was jazz class ?" Mom asks me
"I didn't go to jazz." I say
"What did you do then ?" Mom ask
"Abby had me learn a new solo." I reply
"No she did not." Kelly says, I turn my head and she's shocked
"She says she wants Paige to win but then throw Naïla out there. Nothing against you Naï, I'm gonna talk to her." Kelly says, she goes downstairs
"Don't talk to her about it." I tell my mom worried
"Why ?" She ask
"If you do Abby will be mad at Nia." I say biting the interior of my cheek, bad habit.
"Okay, okay I won't speak if you don't want to.." Mom says, I smile weekly
I take my shoes and go to tap and go to classes until the end of the day.

After dance
"Did Abby pull out my solo ?" I ask my mom in the car
"No, Kelly said that it wasn't worth it anyway." Mom says
"Oh ok." I say
"Wait you have a solo ?" Nia asks me
"Yeah, Abby gave me one today." I say
"Ohh, okay." Nia says

Day of competition
"Oh cool. Definitely don't touch anything." Abby says as we walk through the hall

I have my hair clip around my high bun.
"The competition is ahead of schedule they're running ahead of schedule by 30 minutes we thought we had a big break we don't come on I don't want you to waste time" Abby says
"Oh no." I mutter as mom fix my hair
"It's okay don't worry." Mom says
She always find a way to comforts me.
She finishes to fix it.
I run my solo by myself but Abby comes and help me.
"Saut de chat !" Abby says as I do the wrong move
"Do more faces in that part otherwise it's good." Abby states as I finish my solo
"Paige remember where those judges are." Abby says
"Two minutes girls two minutes before we walk." Abby says
Chloe and I go backstage.
"Your costume is sooo pretty, you'll win costume award for sure." I say
"Thank you." Chloe says
"Solo age 10 Chloe Angry Bird 416."
She goes offstage, I hug her.
"Did the earring go in your knee ?" I ask worried
"No it's okay." She reply
"I'll go pick them up." I say walking to the stage
"Wait a guy is taking them." Chloe says, he takes them and hand them to Chloe
"Thank you." Chloe says to him
"I have to the other side of the stage, goodbye." I say to Chloe
"Bye, good luck." Chloe says
I meet Kendall and avoid eye contact, it's awkward.
Two number goes on and I'm next.
"Solo age 9 Naïla, Violet."

I go onstage and pose. The music start, I remember all the corrections and things I have to do. I do all the faces and do eye contacts with the judges. I do my endless turn section and finish the dance. My legs were straight, my feet were pointed, technique and facial expressions were there. I did a pretty good job. I go offstage as the crowd clap.
I run to the other side of the stage to hug Chloe. I find her and hug her.
"You did so good !" Chloe says
"Thanks Chlo-bird." I say
Paige as a pep talk with her mom and then join us.
"Good luck." Chloe and I say
"Thanks guys." Paige says
"Paige age 10, Tongue Twister."
She start to dance.
"It isn't the dance I saw two weeks ago." I say
"Does that mean she changed the choreography ?" Chloe asks
"Yes. Abby is going to be so mad." I say
After she finish the dance, she comes back to us.
We hug her.
We go to the dressing room.
"You did good." Mom says
"Thanks." I say
"Abby said at pyramid you to work on it yourself and that's what you did." Kelly says to an upset Paige
"That's true." Christi says
"Isn't what what she said ?" Kelly asks
"That's exactly what she said." Mom says
"So you followed her directions and you and your mother worked on it and we didn't like a few things so we changed it." Kelly says
Abby walks in the room
"Paige, what were you doing out there ?" Paige looks at Abby, "Soon as you started it was like the wrong pose on the chair and I was like what is she doing out there ?" Abby says
"Well you told her to work on it herself so we worked on it at home." Kelly says
"Paige you have to realise when you're competing for a title you want to do the a flawless routine." Abby says "Maybe her teacher should work on it with her more and then we'll do the dance you choreographed." Kelly says
"Kelly stop with the we it's not about you, it's about Paige you have to trust that I know what i'm doing." Abby says
"Paige's goal was to go out and do a dance that she felt like she was pushing herself." Kelly says
"What was wrong with the dance that I choreographed ? Besides your mother opinion what else." Abby asks Paige
"Cause I did easy steps." Paige says
That's my girl.
"Cause you do easy steps ?" Abby says
"I just wanted to challenge myself." Paige says sticking up for herself
"You can't send her for a title and not have anything in it." Kelly says
"The things she put in it, were a mess !" Abby says
"If she doesn't challenge herself she's never going to get better at anything !" Kelly says
"I don't want to put her on the stage making her do things she's not ready to do I want her to do what she does well ! Is she capable of more ? Absolutely but I gave her was clean and clearly beat Kendall she went behind my back, she threw stuff in it and you as a parent condoned it ! How dare you !" Abby yells
We get out of the room.
"Poor Paige." I mumble to Maddie
"Yeah." She sigh
After some time we come back and get ready for the group.
The older girls walk in with their costumes
"Oh that's beautiful !" Abby says to them
"Johnny apple seed come in to Ohio to help all the apple trees and we come here to..." Abby says
"Chop them down !" We shout
"You own the center, you own that stage and it's your territory." Abby says giving her usual pep talk
We head backstage.
Candy apples do their dance, it was pretty good. I think ?
"Next entry number 4a Land Unforgiving."

Solo awards
"We're gonna do the top ten next star 9-11 solos."
"Seventh lace number 48, Tongue Twister." I clap
"Sixth place Angry Bird." I clap
He announces fourth, third. Im second or first otherwise I didn't place.
"Hope I win." I mumble
"I'm sure you'll win." Maddie says, I smile at her
"And our highest scoring 9-11 soloist NextStar division will be Violet."
I smile and get up to take my award and crown. I've got two titles in two weeks, awesome.
"What is the name of your studio ?" The announcer asks
"Abby Lee dance company." I reply
"Alright here our top ten 9-11 soloists, take a bow." We all take a bow and go sit down
"You got seven Paige, Abby can't say that much about you anymore." I say
"I hope so." Paige says
"Fifth place Land Unforgiving.." Kenzie gets our award
Candy Apples didn't place, we beat them !
"Chop, chop, chop, chop !" we all chant as enter the dressing room
Mom hugs me.
"I'm so proud of you, good job !" Mom says
"Thank you." I say, Nia hugs me
"Congratulations Chloe, congratulations Paige and even bigger congratulations to Naïla, two titles in a row. Can you believe it ?" Abby says
I hug her.
"I think Paige's choreography did pretty good top ten right below Chloe." Kelly says
"She did." Abby says
"I just think that you underestimate Paige. I think that if Paige gets some attention she has to ability to go out there and place."Kelly says
"I need to see a change in her, she needs to want it Kelly." Abby says
"You told her at pyramid you were not working with her do it herself she did it." Kelly says
"That didn't mean change the choreography, that means to just clean up what I given you." Abby says
"I did not putting you up here to fail." Abby says to Paige
Paige nods slowly.
We pack and head home.
I put my crown on my shelf, it feels good to win.
"You won again ?" My little brother asks entering my room
"Yeah." I reply
"I thought you suck at dance." He says
"Haha very fun." I say
He jump on my bed.
"Get out of my room ! You're the most annoying person I've ever met." I say
He sticks his tongue out before leaving. I'm going to kill him one day.
Overall it was a beautiful week.
