Fahad stood at the door watching Laiba get ready in their room. She wore an emerald green embroidered dress. The details of her outfit radiating her charm and leaving him in awe.
The gajrey in her hair enhancing her beauty.
She turned towards him while wearing her earrings and noticed him staring at her.
His eyes light up with a spark of affection as if he was watching a miracle.
He walked closer to her, his eyes fixed on her.
She looked at him confused.
In a soft whisper, barely audible,
"How did I get so lucky?" He said.
The weight of his emotions lingered in the air as he struggled to catch his breath.
Laiba looked at Fahad with a mixture of suprise and curiosity.
Her eyes meeting his inquisitive gaze.
He looked at her as if he meant each word he said. She found herself captivated by the raw emotion that reflected in his eyes.
Unsure of how to respond, she simply stared back, her heart fluttering in her chest.
Fahad, feeling a rush of emotions, took her hand gently in his and brought it closer to his lips, ready to plant a soft kiss.
'Bhai!!! Bhabhi!!' Laiba heard Jiya and pulled away.
'Eid Mubarak!!!' Jiya said entering the room and hugging Fahad.
'Bhabhi!! Aap kitni acchi lag rahi hai!!' She said hugging Laiba. She smiled.
'Woh ammi keh rahi thi ke bhabhi ke ghar jana hai aap dono ko..toh jaldi neeche ayiye' she said running from there.
Laiba turned to him, a sense of anticipation in his eyes.
'Eid mubarak' she softly whispered leaving the room.
[CAR]
Fahad couldn't help but steal glances of her the whole car ride.
'Nazre sadak par' she said noticing him.
'Bohot khoobsurat lag rahi ho'
'Haan toh isme naya kya hai?'
'Pata nahi, Aaj nazre hatt hi nahi rahi tumse'
'Fazool baatein mat karo' she said trying to hide her smile.
'I love you' he said looking at her.
'-saamne dekh kar gaadi chalao tum' she replied.

[MALIK HOUSE]
'Bhabhi!!!' Laiba exclaimed as soon as she saw Zahra outside the house.
'Eid Mubarak' she said as they hugged.
'Tumhe pata hai kon aaye hai?' Zahra asked to which she raised her eyebrows.
Laiba looked at Sameer coming out of the house and immediately hugged him.
Fahad smiled looking at them.
Sameer asked them to come inside.
As they stepped forward to enter the house, Fahad's phone rang.
'I'm sorry..yeh important call hai..i'll be back in 10minutes..Aap andar jaiye'
he said excusing himself and going back to his car.
[HALL]
Laiba glanced at the room filled with people and looked shocked seeing Nadia.
Flashbacks flooded her mind, reminding her of the misunderstanding that had caused this marriage. The realisation that this was not the life she wanted but she was pushed to live because of her. Anger began to brew within her, and she tried to leave the house.
'Laiba..ruko..please'
Nadia said trying to stop her.
'Main jaanti hun tumhe meri shakal bhi nahi dekhni.
lekin main humari dosti ko nahi khona chahti..isliye aaj yaha sabko sacch batane aayi hun'
The family members looked confused at her words.
She took a deep breath before speaking,
'Uncle, aunty..Laiba ka koi affair nahi tha..
Uss din Laiba ke saat main bhi thi wahan.
uss din jis ladke se Woh baat kar rahi thi..woh ladka mujhe bohot pareshan karta tha.
Laiba ne sirf meri madad karne ki koshish ki thi..
Aap sab ne ussey ghalat samjha.
Mujhay yeh sab bohot pehlay hi bata dena chahiye tha..Laiba I'm really sorry..'
Everyone looked at her shocked.
'She walked towards Laiba.
'Laiba..Meri shadi ho rahi hai..
Agle hafte meri mangni hai..agar tum aayi toh main samjhungi ke tumne mujhe maaf kiya.'
Laiba came forward and hugged her.
'Mujhe ab chalna chahiye'
Nadia said. Laiba looked at her go, her gaze shifted to her parents.
'Laiba..' Zeenat called her.
'Rehne do amma!'
'Shayad ab bhi iss ghar mein kuch logo ko mujh par yakeen nahi hoga.'
Aap logo ne- Bina kuch jaane..bina meri baat sune yeh tay kardiya ki main ghalat hun..aur karadi meri shadi!!
Ek baar bhi nahi socha mere baare mein. Ek baar bhi meri marzi nahi puchi'
She said looking at her Father.
Amal stood there with a straight face not meeting her eyes.
'Aaj ke baad main kabhi yaha nahi aaungi!'
She said leaving the house. Everyone tried to stop her but in vain.

She got into the car while Fahad was still on the call.
'Kya hua?'
'Mujhay ghar le chalo!'
He cut the call.
'Kyun abhi toh aaye hai?'
'Mujhe nahi rehna yahan'
'Kya hua yaar..Abhi toh main andar bhi nahi gaya..sabse mila bhi nahi..sab kya sochenge?'
'Tumhe agar jaana hai toh tum chale jao..lekin pehle mujhay ghar chor do pleasee!!'
Fahad agreed reluctantly looking at her face and drove back home.
[EVENING]
LAIBA
I stared out the window, my mind consumed with thoughts. The events that occurred today replayed in my mind.
A strange unease settled over me.
Despite the anger, a nagging feeling tugged over. Something didn't feel right.
I picked up my phone and called Bhabhi.
'Hello..bhabhi?'
''Kya hua doctor ne kya kahan hai Sameer!!'
I heard Amma. Her voice filled with tension.
'Bhabhi!! Amma kya keh rahi hai? Kya hua hai? Sab theek toh hai na?'

Fahad notices her distress and came towards her asking if everything was alright.
'Main abhi aa rahi hoon, bhabhi!' She said keeping the phone.
'Fahad..Baba...'
[HOSPITAL]
'Yeh form fill kar dijiye' the nurse informed Sameer. Zayd went to bring the medicines.
Laiba came rushing towards her family along with Fahad.
'Amma!!! Ammaa kya hua hai Baba ko..?'
'Tumhare jaane ke baad unhone apne aap ko kamre mein band kar liya tha.
Shaam ko mein jab unhe dawai dene gayi..toh woh achanak se gir gaye'
Doctor ne abhi kuch nahi kahan.'
Laiba hugged Zeenat and tried to console her.
As the doctor came out from the room everyone gathered around him asking about Amaal.
'Unhe mild heart attack aya hai. Apko pata hai ki Mr.Malik cardiac patient hai.
Aap logo ko unka khayal rakhna chahiye.
Make sure ke unhe zayada stress na ho.
'Humne medications de di hai..unhe jald hosh aajayega' the doctor said leaving from there
'Yeh sab meri wajah se hua hai..mujhe aese baat nahi karni chahiye thi'
Laiba said tears streaming down her face.
'Nahi beta, tum khud ko mat koso'
Zeenat said trying to console her.
Fahad looked at her confused and concerned. Seeing her cry made his heart ache.
He gently held her and guided her to a nearby chair making her sit.
He sat next to her. She rested her head on his shoulder and he instinctively began to caress her head.
'Laiba..please khud ko sambhalo'
he said trying to console her.
Laiba sat there clinged to him waiting for Amaal to regain consciousness.
Zayd looked at Laiba and Fahad, a strange surge of emotions coursing through his veins.
He tried to ignore it and asked Zahra about Amaal.
'patient ko hosh aa gaya hai..aap unse mil sakte hai' a nurse informed
Zeenat and Laiba rushed inside the room.
She approached him.
'Baba..I'm sorry'
His eyes softened and he extended his hand inviting her close. Feeling weak. He whispered, 'main tumhara gunehgaar hoon
Ho sake toh tum mujhe maaf kar dena..'
'Main ek accha baap nahi ban saka..Maine tumhari shadi-'
'Baba..please ab aap yeh sab mat soche..
Maine maaf kiya aapko.
Fahad bohot acche hai..Woh bohot khayal rakhte hai mera' she assured holding his hand.
Sameer, Fahad and Zahra stood near the door. Zahra looked at Fahad who's face had a soft smile hearing this.
They look at Laiba comforting Amaal and go towards them.

'Beta maaf karna ke eid ke din tumhe pareshani hui' Zeenat said to Fahad outside the hospital.
'Aree kaisi baatein kar rahi hai aap aunty..Amaal saab ki tabyat thik nahi thi..aise main hum kaise..
Ammi bhi zidd kar rahi thi aane ki, lekin maine hi mana kar diya..'
Laiba hugged Zeenat
'Baba ka khayal rakhna..aur mujhe phone karke time to time inform karte rehna.
main subah aaungi discharge ke time pe'
She agreed.
