Xavier's POV
We were moving away tommorow
All our clothes and priced possessions had been taken to New York 3 days ago
I got home early today
I still had some moving related paperwork to sort out
After a very tiring day all I want now is to eat and get under the covers with my dear wife
I found her at the corner of the library typing on the computer I got her
She was so caught up in her work
I leaned in on the door and crossed my arms
Watching her the soft sounds of the keyboard has she typed made it more peaceful for me to watch
I wanna brag about her to the world she was the best wife excluding the part of her when she is afraid of me
But excluding that she was just perfect
I took in her position and appearance
Her one hand on her tummy and the other typing
She was wearing a grey sundress which rode up to her knees as she sat
I noticed how peaceful she was when she wasn't around me
When she is close up to me I see and feel her get tensed under my gaze or touch
But has the days passed by her eyes doesn't show fear again but instead it seems as though she was fighting a battle within herself
I coughed wanting her to acknowledge my presence
She raised up her head and a small smile appeared on her face
"Uhmmm...... welcome" she said slowly
This was surprising
"Hello wife" I greeted
"How long have you been standing over there" she said closing her system and putting it on the table
"Maybe 10 minutes" I shrugged and she just stared at me twisting her head to the side
"Can we talk?" She said and I looked at her surprised
What does she want to talk about
"Yea..." I said still leaning on the door
"Uhmm.... can you come take a sit" she said scooting so I could sit beside her
The space was not small but I have a huge body and that space would probably make me squash her in the small chair
I sat beside her and she shifted uncomfortably
She looked down at her kneaded fingers
Something she does when nervous or tensed
"Am listening" I said and she jumped lightly as I brought her back to reality
"Are you still obsessed with me" she said
I laughed out softly as I watched her face turn bright red
"Don't laugh" she said pouting
The problem was that I didn't know how to answer this
I wonder what was going through her mind
Wait....was she going to leave me
And just like that the smile on my face varnished has though it was there before
"Why are you asking" I said looking at her twisting my eyebrows
"Well am.... you know New York tomorrow, a new life.....good people" she said stammering throughout the whole sentence
I barely understand what she is saying
"Explain" I said simply
Because I really don't see why she is stuttering
She sighed
"I want a new life" she said and it seems my whole world just stopped
"Not just me I want for both of us to begin a new life...." she paused and held my hands with hers
"Together"
The statement I had been praying to hear in forever
Even though I know and she also know she has no other choice
Am still at peace knowing she has finally given in to me
"Do you mean it" I said rising my hands to her cheeks
"Y...yes" she said breathlessly she still had that look
She was probably thinking of her decision, was it right or wrong
But I'll make sure she doesn't ever, not for even a second regret choosing me
I pulled her into my arms and surprisingly she wrapped her arms around me too
"I love you so much Stacey......" I said and her body tensed and I chuckled
"You don't have to say it back am just letting you know" I said and her body relaxed
"I know" she said lightly
4 months later:
"Xavvy!!!!" I heard Stacey scream as soon as I came back from work
All the maids were gone it's just the both of us at home with Christmas decor all over the house
"Why is little miss wife so excited" I said walking to the kitchen
"Don't tell me you forgot Christmas" she said the bright smile on her face slowly disappearing
"Ah....Christmas, no I didn't" I said dropping my suitcase
When I reached her I pulled my dear wife into a bone crushing hug
Before placing wet kisses on her lips and face
She was making spaghetti and meat balls
She turned around to continue molding the beef
I wrapped my hands around her waist from behind and I buried my head into her neck and shoulders
My hands moved to her tummy
She is almost 6 months pregnant
Her tummy was swollen already but it only added to her beauty
I loved knowing am the owner of the child she is carrying
My first offspring, I have everything in the world but not a child, yet
I rubbed her tummy gently
"How are you feeling" I said and she bit her lip
"I don't know" she said
I understand how she was feeling.....it was Christmas and we didn't have any body to celebrate it with we got ourselves
Lately she has been getting overly emotional....
She is bothered about not being a good mother
Hell to that
She changed a grown ass man like me
Look at me, I know I won't be the best father but because of her
Just because I have her by my side I know we are going to raise great kids
Trust me I wanted to say all those words of comfort to her but call me selfish, I loved when she comes to me for comfort and cries in my arms as I hold her tight and inhale her still addicting scent
Yes, I am still obsessed with her but not dangerously
"It's okay.....we'll figure it out together" I said
She turned around and placed a kiss on my lips then moved out of my embrace
There's nothing I love more than are sneaky little kisses
It first started with placing them on the cheeks but now she kisses me on the lips
Without any hesitation whatsoever
During dinner the doorbell rang
"You see this is why we need an extra maid to stay over" Stacey said
"Then they will watch when I take you over this table over and over again" I said then winked at her before standing up to get the door making her cute face turn red
"Rada" I said
The woman who raised me was at the doorway with a huge smile on her face
But that didn't hide the tears running down her eyes
"Merry Christmas" she said and stretched her hands asking for a hug which I didn't refuse
This woman has been there during my highs and lows
All my life I had celebrated the holidays with her
"I missed you so much" I said and she cried more into my chest
She pulled away from the hug
"Where's...." Rada said but was cut off by Stacey
"Rada" Stacey said in disbelief
I expected Stacey to throw a tantrum on how rada left us but no she ran into Rada arms for a hug
Rada was really a mother figure for us both and we are happy she is here
"Am sorry" Rada said in Stacey's hair
"Am sorry too" Stacey replied and they both pulled away from the hug
"So can I come in" Rada said still standing outside
It was snowing heavily
"Yea yea come in" Stacey said smiling
We all got into the dining room
Thankfully there was still some spaghetti and meatballs left in the pot
Stacey had grown a habit of waking up at night demanding foods mostly junkies
We all sat at the table and began eating
"So Rada.....how did you know we located to New York " I said as I finished my dinner
"Well I began my search for you guys about 3 months ago
I came up to the house and it was locked......I came every day for 2 weeks and still meet it lock
Later I guessed you both travelled or something then I went to your office
I got in and asked around that was when I found out you guys aren't at California anymore"
"Am just glad you are here.....and on Christmas eve" Stacey said
"This was a tradition both Xavier and I shared and you coming to our lives will make it a whole lot better" she said placing her hands on stacey's giving her a tight squeeze
We all sat at the sitting area near the Christmas tree
Both Stacey and I wore matching sweaters designed with Christmas decorations
If I was told 6 years ago that ill be sitting here with my wife wearing matching sweaters I'll would've laughed at there face
We talked about random stuffs
We even spoke about baby names but we don't know the gender yet
It was finally Christmas
Rada brought out a two present box and handed then to both Stacey and I
Stacey opened hers and saw a silver spoon and I opened mine then saw a blue diamond bracelet
"Thank you " both Stacey and I said in unison to Rada
"Uhm we both don't have a gift for you.....uhm" I said scratching the back of my head
What....I didn't know she was gonna show up
"There's no problem......I'll see you guys tommorow am sleepy and again Merry Christmas" Rada said as sge fake yawn
Then sent a wink to Stacey making my wife flush
I just ignored it
Girls....
"Well here" I said picking up Stacey's gift
She opened it and gasped
It was a red ruby necklace
"It's beautiful" she said in awe
"Do you like it" I asked her
"I love it" she said hugging me
"So....did you get me a gift" I asked her and she immediately became nervous
She brought out a box
"I didn't know what I could get you.....you seem to have everything but here" she said placing the box in my hand
I just smiled at her
She is worth everything in my life
No matter what she offered I'll still take them has my priced possessions
I opened the box and lying there was a pink napkin
I really don't understand why a napkin
And a pink one at that
I wasn't a girl....
As that thought cane to my head it all clicked
"Girl" I said looking at her in disbelief
"Yes...we are having a girl" she said looking down at her fingers
I couldn't move all I could think about was my little princess coming to the world soon
"I....I...you got me a diamond necklace and I got you a stupid nap...."
I cut her off with a long kiss
After kissing her regret out I pulled away
This is the best Christmas I have ever had
Even though it's not Christmas I still dropped a Christmas chapter
I know am crazy 😅
