Stacy's Bat Mitzvah

After all the chaos that happened at Lyd's Bat Mitzvah, Stacy spent the entire class looking at me, Tara, Nikki, and Lydia

─ Oh Nat, I think your boyfriend wants to stay with you for a while - Tara says seeing Aaron look in our direction

─ What was it? You don't stop looking in our direction - I asked, getting close to the boy

─ I missed you

─ Hey Nathalie - Anya says looking at me

─ Hi Anya - I said to the girl

─ Hi Nat! - Andy greets me next to Kym

─ Are you and Kym together now? - I asked

─ Yes

─ Cool - I said ─ Let's go in Aaron, the bell is about to ring

─ I want to fill up my bottle before I go in - Aaron says giving me a peck as we go in to go to our class

─ Nat, wait, please! - Stacy shouts coming towards us

─ Oh Aaron, are you listening to something? - I ask without stopping walking

─ Nat, can we talk?

─ We have nothing to talk about Friedman - I said and walked straight past the girl

─ Don't you think it's a bit hard? - the boy asks me while filling the bottle

─ You saw what she did, she deserves to get the cold shoulder  - I said seriously

─ Who knows, are you going to go to her Bat Mitzvah today?

─ I don't know, my mother will probably make me, so, yeah, I'll go - I said, entering the room

The class was normal, Rabbi Rebecca was strange as always, but nothing different from the ordinary. This afternoon there is Stacy's Bat Mitzvah, my mother said it would be great for me to go, maybe Stacy will give a plausible explanation, which I think is unlikely. But now I can't change my mind, after all, Aaron is already here at home waiting for me so we can all go out together

─ Nathalie, hurry up, mom is already impatient - my sister says, entering my room

─ I'm already finishing Emma - I'm talking about putting on my baby blue all star

I went downstairs, greeted Aaron, and we left, when we arrived at the synagogue Andy and Mateo were waiting for us at the front. Stacy's parents arrived with her screaming on her father's shoulder, if I didn't know that she didn't want to go to her Bat Mitzvah, I would think she had escaped from the asylum. We entered the synagogue and Rabbi Rebecca began to give the opening speech, Stacy started reading the Torah, but she didn't even finish, as she started saying that she shouldn't even be there

─ I made a big mistake. I'm sorry, I don't even know what I'm doing up here. In the Jewish religion, I should become an adult today, but I have been so selfish, tantrum and irritating, with my parents and with my friends... Nat, I'm sorry, again, for doing that to you, and for writing in my diary that you were fake, but in fact, I noticed, you are one of my most loyal friends that I have, just like Nikki and Tara, and Lydia - Stacy started talking, which did make me smile sideways

She apologized to Tara and Nikki, she apologized to her parents, she apologized to Kym, Megan and Anya, she said that they can be really assholes when they want to be, which isn't a lie, and she also talked about Andy, saying that he doesn't focus in things for a long time, he called him basic and said he wasn't good at football, which wasn't a lie, he was never very good at football, he commented that it wasn't worth fighting with me and Lyd because of him. After she gave this beautiful speech she ran away, but her parents held her back. She finished reading the Torah and ran after Lydia, I don't think I've ever felt so proud of Stacy, she finally understood that not everything in life needs to be about her, and that she has people to be her support
