I had forgotten what it's like to be this happy to be this warm. How easy you made it to call your arms home. I had forgotten what it's like to exhale. I had forgotten. Forgotten what it's like to feel safe. And now I don't know what else to do or say. So I lie here whispering the words I love you over and over until I can no longer tell if it's you returning the phrase or the sound of my own voice echoing off the walls.
