The day finally came where the tattoo parlor opened and everything was set nicely; the flowers that Jeongguk had made were set around the open area of the main parlor and there were a few areas with food and drinks placed around too. The flowers themselves were arranged in a way where they had white roses in a round cardboard base that was the colour black with a red ribbon wrapped around it. It had started in the afternoon so the guests were enjoying their time
There were many people who had either been invited or decided to come to just see the new tattoo parlour. Yoongi had put out the many sketches he had that were in clear files to let the guests look through, in case they ever wanted to get a tattoo done by him.
Taehyung was sitting in the corner by one of the many bouquets that were placed. He watched as people walked around or even stood where they were as they talked. A few were pointing at designs and talking with Yoongi about times they could come and get something down.
Taehyung would nod if someone waved at him and tried to smile, but he couldn't. He couldn't see his mate, and that made him sad. His eyes were shifting around the room, and he couldn't see the younger male. He pouted and sighed before looking down at his phone to check the time and notifications.
Then there was a tap on the table in front of him, making him look up and he locked eyes with his mate. Taehyung gave him a smile as the omega waved at him slightly.
"Hey, Taehyung-ssi.. is everything okay? You're alone over here, and I was concerned, " Jeongguk asked as he sat on the chair next to the alpha.
Taehyung nodded with a smile. Of course he was. Now that Jeongguk was here, he was okay. He was happy.
"Good, good.." Jeongguk sighed as he looked around. "I hope everyone liked the flower set up.. I stayed up a few extra hours to get them right. " He giggled.
Taehyung's eyes widened, and he leant to grab the other's hand. Jeongguk looked at their hands and looked at the alpha, only to see the concerned look written on his features.
"No, no, don't worry, it's okay," Jeongguk smiled. "It's why I was late here today, I slept in.." He sheepishly admitted.
Taehyung frowned but sighed and let it be for now. He made a mental note to make sure his mate sleeps better in the future when he's there.
"Don't frown.. I'll take better care of myself, I promise, it's just.." Jeongguk bit his lip. "..I wanted them to be perfect." He looked away again.
Taehyung wanted to tell him that it wouldn't have mattered if they were perfect or not. He didn't want the other to be slept deprived all because of tiny things that he should dwell over. It hurt his heart that he couldn't say this to his mate. The words were stuck in his throat; just bubbling to come out. But his eyebrows furrowed sadly, and he squeezed the other's hand a little tighter.
"Taehyung-ssi..?" Jeongguk questioned as he looked back to the alpha.
Taehyung shook his head and waved his free hand to tell the other not to worry.
"Okay.." Jeongguk gave a small smile.
"Jeongguk-ah." The two looked up and saw Yoongi walking towards them both.
"Yoongi-ssi, hey," Jeongguk waved with his free hand.
"What are you two up to?" He asked, looking at the two, but his gaze stayed on Taehyung.
"Just.. talking," Jeongguk answered with a smile. "Yeah, just talking,"
"How is he replying to you?" Yoongi asked, but then his eyes shifted to their hands. "Ah.. nevermind"
"Huh?" Jeongguk looked down and saw that his and Taehyung's hands were intertwined. "Oh, yeah,"
"Hmm," Yoongi hummed. "Oh, Taehyung, we got new locks. By the way, we'll install them on your door after the party, okay?"
Taehyung nodded, but Jeongguk looked confused. He looked between the two with an eyebrow raised.
"Why new locks..?" Jeongguk asked.
"His rut is tomorrow, and he's gonna lock himself in his room for the next few days," Yoongi explained the situation to the young omega.
"Does he need anything..? Like one of my hoodies? Or something, " Jeongguk suggested, looking at Yoongi and then Taehyung.
"Hoodie..?" Yoongi asked the other alpha, earning a nod from Taehyung.
"Okay, I can bring something tomorrow morning, first thing." Jeongguk smiled as he took hold of Taehyung's hand in both of his. "You're okay with that, right?"
Taehyung nodded. He felt his heart melt at the concerned look in the omegas doe eyes; they also seemed to have worry within them. He saw a small pout form on the other's lips, and his eyebrows creased. Just by the omega's look alone made the alpha feel his insides melt.
"Okay, I.. I think I have something that will help, I can bring something new every morning if it'll help, " Jeongguk suggested.
Taehyung nodded his head enthusiastically. Of course, it would help. God He loves his mate so much, with how caring and thoughtful he is. Taehyung so desperately wants to get over this bump in the road; with his words not coming out of his throat.
"That'll be very helpful, Jeongguk-ah.." Yoongi smiled. "But.. Well.. hmm"
"What?" Jeongguk turned to look at the other.
"You'll need to stay on this side of his door," Yoongi warned.
Jeongguk slipped his hands away from Taehyung's, making the alpha frown. Taehyung didn't like that the omega took his hands away. He loved the feeling of his hands touching the other. He pouted again and sighed before looking back to Yoongi with a small glare, but it was playful.
"What do you mean..?" Jeongguk asked hesitantly.
Yoongi looked to Taehyung as if asking for permission. Taehyung gave a look that read 'half of it, not all', and the other alpha nodded. Yoongi took a breath before looking back to the omega.
"His ruts are horrible. He gets really aggressive and destroys things… we know it's not his fault. It's just because of his second gender.." Yoongi explained.
"Oh? That's horrible, " Jeongguk said softly. "What's his second gender..? I assumed it was an alpha, but it's stronger than that.. " He added.
Yoongi looked back to Taehyung, who just gave him a small nod to allow him to explain.
"It's part of the reason as to why we moved here.." Yoongi sighed before stepping forward and getting closer to the omega; just close enough that only the omega could hear but not too close, so Taehyung wouldn't get annoyed.
"He's a true blood," He whispered softly.
"What!?" Jeongguk exclaimed in a whisper. "He's.." His voice went soft as he turned to look at Taehyung.
"Yeah.." Yoongi nodded.
Taehyung couldn't bear to look at Jeongguk. He worried about what the other's expression would look like. Everyone who ever found out, apart from Yoongi and Jimin, freaked out and screamed at him about being a horrible rank. Though it wasn't Taehyung's fault, it was a family thing, and he couldn't do anything about it. He could only get away.
Taehyung heard Jeongguk sigh, and he heard the shifting of clothing before his nose was filled with the scent of roses. He didn't realize that the omega had brought him into a hug, and his head was resting on his shoulder. Taehyung didn't know what to do as he had never gotten any affection like this. So he hesitantly placed his hands on Jeongguk's back, hugging him back.
"Don't worry, I won't say a word," Jeongguk whispered in the male's ear.
Taehyung nodded as a way to say 'thank you' and smiled against the omegas shoulder.
"We'll see you first thing tomorrow, Jeongguk-ah..?" Yoongi asked. The two pulled away as the omega turned to look at Yoongi.
"Yes, tomorrow," Jeongguk nodded. "Though I won't be leaving from this opening party too soon, I want to look at a few designs too." He smiled.
Taehyung watched as the other smiled and just smiled to himself, too. Yoongi noticed the other smiling before putting a finger up as to say 'one moment' before walking to the area where the files were laid open of his designs.
"Here, you can look through them," Yoongi said as he came back and gave the files to the omega.
"Oh wow, thank you." Jeongguk took the files and opened one to see a few magical designs, stars, moons, and landscapes in one.
"I was thinking of getting something for a while now, but I have something specific in mind," Jeongguk spoke as he looked through the different pages. "Though it's hard to explain.."
"Try to," Yoongi urged.
"Well, I want my birth flower, but in a singular line style, not much shading but nothing too detailed. I want it to wrap up my arm as a sleeve design, I guess?" Jeongguk explained but ended it with an unsure tone.
"I get what you mean," Yoongi nodded. "We can get something done when you want it, though our schedule is quite packed already for next week," He explained.
"That's okay, take your time." Jeongguk smiled as he handed back the files to Yoongi. "Do you do design work as well, Taehyung-ssi?" He asked.
Taehyung shook his head as a reply.
"Oh, so only Yoongi does the design work? Do you do tattooing, too, then?" Jeongguk asked.
Taehyung nodded as a reply to both questions.
"Ooh, okay," Jeongguk nodded. "I hope it's not too much for you guys to do.. the design may be detailed in terms of how big, but I wouldn't want to make it seem too hard.."
Just as Taehyung was about to shake his head, Yoongi spoke up. "Don't worry, Jeongguk-ah, I've done plenty of hard and taxing designs on people in the past. Yours seems to be the simplest I've had this year,"
"Really..?" Jeongguk questioned. "Wow.."
Taehyung knew right there, and then he wanted to be the one to draw up the omegas sleeve tattoo. He wanted to make it perfect for the omega. He wanted to be the one to put it on, and most importantly, he wanted to just be in the presence of the other for hours. He'd have to tell Yoongi later that he wanted to design Jeongguk's sleeve.
That would have to be done after his rut, though. Though Taehyung still had doubts that the omega would bring something for him.
He hopes that Jeongguk will.
