I lay on my bed and looked at the ceiling, I turned to look at the clock and it was only eight in the morning. I sighed and got up. I went looking for clothes. I found a nice black skirt and top that I put on. I brushed my hair in front of the mirror while thinking about what to do today. Demetri said that he and Felix have made sure over the years that it doesn't get boring here. They must have been playing some video games because I was in the middle of a nightdream at night when I heard screaming. Aagh, I'm not going to spend my
days playing games.
I put the brush back and put on my high heels. I walked out the door. I hummed to myself until I heard the sound behind me.
"Good morning beautiful." Demetri said.
"Good morning to you too." I laughed back.
"How was the first night?" He asked walking up next to me.
"I read a book and nightdreaming."
"That sounds nice." Demetri smiled and took my hand to lead me somewhere.
"Good morning Madi." Felix's voice came from the room where Demetri is taking me.
"Morning." I answered, at the same time as I entered the room. The room had a couch and a big TV. I looked at Felix and Demetri.
"I told you that you won't die of boredom here." Demetri said sitting on the couch.
"Tadaa." Felix opened the doors of two cabinets that were full of movies.
"Wow."
"And that's not all," Felix motioned me to the back of the room where I couldn't see.
I followed him and a bar counter was revealed.
"Wow. You have a own little bar here?" I say grinning.
"What's better than drinking and enjoying life as a vampire."
"Speaking of which, Master Caius came to my room yesterday and told me that today I can leave the castle, but you two have to come with me." I said pointing at them. They looked at each other.
"Master Caius?" Felix asked confused.
"Yes, what's so weird about that?"
"Do you know him from before?" Demetri asked thoughtfully.
"Why?" I answered.
"We were just wondering when he left the throne room so quickly earlier and in the evening he argued with Aro about you."
"Oh I didn't know." I replied looking at my feet.
"So?"
I looked up and smiled at them. "I haven't met him at least that I can remember."
"Okay, what do you want to do? We can go out and show you places." Felix said.
"Shows places where you can catch food." Demetri winked with a grin. A big smile appeared on my face.
We started walking outside and passed the lobby. A new human had appeared in the there. I watched as Demetri winked at the woman.
"She ends up being Demetri's plaything if you don't manage to kill her first." Felix joked to me and I rolled my eyes.
"It was an accident. I told her that no one tells me what I can and cannot do."
"Maybe we need to find you a male toy here too." Felix said with a wink and at the same time we turned to see Alec and Jane walking towards us. Felix then cleared his throat awkwardly, as Alec glared at us.
"Where are you going?" Jane asked looking at Demetri and Felix.
"To find her a toy..." Demetri kick Felix on the leg. "We are going to show Madilyn places outside the castle where she can prey on people for food." Demetri said staring at Felix.
Jane raised an eyebrow and Alec's glare only deepened. Demetri and Felix smiled at them. We were silent for a moment until I cleared my throat. "Awkwaaard." I said out loud. Jane and Alec's eyes turned to me. Jane just huffed and continued on her way. Alec continued to stare and I stared back at him.
He is really nice looking.
"Alec? Are you coming? Aro wanted to meet us right now." Jane's voice came from further away.
Alec looked me in the eyes for a moment and then started to walk away.
"That was awkward." Felix said.
"Because you and your big mouth can't help but say something stupid." Demetri said continuing his journey outside.
"What? I just wanted to be honest she asked where we are going." Felix said walking after Demetri.
"You could sometimes think about what you say and with whom." Demetri said pausing. Then a big grin appeared on him. "Felix, I got the idea and thanks to you."
"Huh?" Felix looked dumbfounded at Demetri who turned to look at me. I blinked my eyes and realized that I had been daydreaming.
"Are you coming Madilyn?" Demetri asked.
"Yes I'm coming."
We walked up the stairs and towards the elevator. "Nope, not this elevator." I said with a sigh. Demetri and Felix just smiled.
"Why do you have to play opera music in the elevator?" I asked annoyed.
"It was Aro's decision you have to ask him maybe he will change his mind." Felix said with a chuckle. Finally we were able to continue our journey towards the stairs and the exit from which I had arrived yesterday. Demetri opened the doors to the wonderful Volterra street. Fortunately, the day was cloudy.
"Hunting people in this area is prohibited, so we travel further. Follow us." He said and we sped away. We went through the forests aside from the cities. Finally we stopped and I looked around.
"We are close to the French border." Demetri said.
"There is a small village near here. I like going here." Demetri said, winking at me and started walking towards the small stone streets. I followed him and looked around at the stone walls, they look exactly the same as in Volterra.
"Choose your victim, see you here later." Felix said after disappearing from the spot. I sped away from the place while listening to the surroundings. I heard a young man talking on the phone. Ooh British. This is going to be fun. I started walking over to him.
"Hello, excuse me." I said with my sincere smile.
"Oh Hello?" He said turning to face me.
"I couldn't help but hear you're British." I said walking closer to him.
"I guess you are too, are you from London?" He asked me.
"Yeah whatever." I replied walking even closer to him, my eyes darkening. He started to feel uncomfortable as I could hear his heartbeat speeding up. I won't deny that it's weird, someone random approaches you as if it wants to eat you and that's exactly what I look like, I just want to sunk my teeth into his neck where I can hear a vein pulsing.
I stopped for a moment to listen that the streets were quiet except I heard a woman screaming in the distance. I smiled. And I quickly disappeared. The young man stared blankly in front of him and then he started walking quickly towards another street, looking behind him. I appeared at the end of the street smiling at him and he freaked out and ran in the other direction.
"Ooh yes I love when they run." I followed and sometimes appeared next to him.
"Hello, what are you in a hurry for?" I asked with a sincere smile.
"How did you do that?" He asked falling to the ground startled.
"I did what?" I asked confused. He started screaming and started running away. I heard a woman's scream coming towards us. I laughed, knowing that Demetri plays with the woman. I watched from a distance as they ran towards each other and hastily told each other what had happened. I sensed that Demetri was nearby. I appeared next to them and they started running in different directions. I appeared on one side of them and Demetri on the other.
"There they are!" They said at the same time pointing at us.
"What are you talking about?" I asked and Demetri shrugged.
"You... y-you what are you?" The woman asked shaking and I heard their hearts beating so hard it's a wonder they haven't died from it.
"Sweetheart." Demetri appeared beside her, stroking her hair.
"I don't know what you're talking about, I just wanted to take you on a date." He said with a smile and took her with him, disappearing from the scene. I turned to look at the blood bag standing in front of me, he stood frozen as I approached him with my eyes darkening and showing my teeth. I grabbed him and sunk my teeth into his neck. I held her mouth with my other hand because he tried to scream. He was hard to jab but slowly the jab stopped while his heartbeat slowed down and finally the heart stopped. I dropped him to the ground. It was fun. People started approaching from the adjacent street and I took him on my shoulder and sped away.
I disposed of the body and returned to the place where the three of us were before. Felix stood waiting. "Did you have fun?" He asked with a smile.
"Yes, Demetri and his victim joined in." I said with a chuckle.
"Demetri is definitely at the woman's place right now, but don't worry, he's quick." Felix said with a grin. I smiled, at Felix's comment at the same time as Demetri arrived.
"There he is! Shall we go back to Volterra?" Felix asked.
"At the same time, we can show you the scenery there and the wonderful places. There are bars and a nightclub on the way." Demetri said.
"NIGHTCLUB? When do we go there?" I asked with a big grin on my face.
"I think Alec won't like it..." Demetri interrupted Felix.
"Sure we're going there."
"Huh?" Felix looked at Demetri.
"Shut up for a moment." Demetri hissed. I watched their little argument in amazement.
We sped back to Volterra, Demetri showed us the scenery and bars on the way. I asked again when we would go to the night club, and Demetri promised that we would soon. We returned back to the corridors of the castle and I continued on my way to the room that they showed me earlier. I couldn't help but hearing how they were arguing behind me but I couldn't bear to listen more closely.
"Do you want to watch horror movies?" I asked excitedly while looking at the movies inside the shelf.
"Well yes, but we have to go to the throne room first." Felix said.
"Choose a movie, we'll be back soon."
"Okay." And I was left alone.
I chose a movie and sat on the couch, I heard someone approaching the door. I turned to look at the door as Jane entered, looking around while pinching her nose.
"They seriously showed you a man cave?"
"Yeah, what's wrong with the man cave?" I asked with a chuckle.
"They spend all their time here playing and screaming at night." Jane said with a sigh. She walked closer to the sofa and carefully looked where to sit. I watched as she sat down next to me and looked ahead with a blank expression on her face. We were silent for a moment until she turned to look at me.
"We haven't had time to get to know each other properly yet, you are my brother's soul mate. It would be nice to spend time together."
"Unlike Your brother doesn't seem eager to get to know me." I answered before I could think.
Jane looked blankly at the wall.
"Demetri and Felix have made you their own, I also want to spend time with you."
"Yes that would be nice, how about tomorrow?" I asked with a smile. Jane turned her head back.
"Tomorrow sounds great." She said with a smile.
The door opens and Felix and Demetri enter the room with surprised expressions to see Jane sitting next to me on the couch. Jane got up and started walking to the door. Demetri and Felix dodged her while Jane stopped and gave me a small nod and then left the door.
"What did she want?"
"She wants to spend time with me and get to know me better." I said looking at them.
"Oh surprisingly, she's not that nice to anyone." Felix said walking over to the TV. I took the DVD in my hand and threw it to him, which he caught perfectly. Felix looked at the cover.
"So, Madilyn. What's your favorite scary movie?" Felix asked imitating ghostface. Demetri and I went to laugh.
"That was the worst imitation I've ever heard." I said laughing looking at Demetri.
"Just wait, after this movie I will be a champion." Felix said putting the movie on.
"That's what I want to see." Demetri said muttering.
"Tell me, Madilyn. What is your favorite scary movie?"
"A Nightmare on Elm Street, the first part where is Johnny Depp." I said with the words of dreams.
"We are gonna watch it after this, I saw it on that shelf." I said pointing at them.
"Ooh Felix won't sleep anymore after he have nightmares of Freddy." Demetri said.
"Hey, I'm a vampire, vampires don't sleep." Felix said raising his hand to his chest. We all started laughing as we started watching the movie.
