(Y/N) was woken up by a shout. He had been knocked unconscious by the guards when he had tried to vainly break free from his Seastone chains to stop Ace from being taken.
Luffy: ACE!!!
Next to Luffy stood two people, Emporio Ivankov and Inazuma.
Luffy: <panting> He's not here!!
Ivankov shook an injured guard that he had used to find Ace's cell.
Ivankov: Are you sure this is his cell?!
Guard: There's no mistake!!
Inazuma: It looks like we were a few seconds too late!
Jimbei's eyes widened when he saw Luffy.
Jimbei: <thinking> A straw hat...so that's him! He really came! He penetrated the impregnable prison Impel Down all the way to Level 6!! (Y/N) was right!!
Jimbei started shouting at (Y/N).
Jimbei: Your captain's here, (Y/N)!! He's here!!
Luffy perked up at the familiar name.
Luffy: (Y/N)?! Why'd you say his name, fish guy?!
Jimbei: Straw Hat, your fellow crewmate in right here!!
(Y/N) shook his head, still a little disoriented from being knocked out. Although he knew he was hearing a familiar voice.
(Y/N): L-Luffy...?
Luffy grabbed the cell bars and started shaking them.
Luffy: (Y/N)!! Is it really you?! (Y/N)!!!
He began to tear up as he shook the bars. He fell over tired, due to them being made out of Seastone.
Ivankov: He's a crewmate of yours, Straw Hat-boy? And don't touch those bars!
Luffy: (Y/N)!! You're here!! You're actually here!!
(Y/N) smiled, his eyes getting watery.
(Y/N): I knew you'd make it, Luffy, although you're too late to get Ace...
He took a deep breath.
(Y/N): If you want to go after him, they just put Ace on the elevator! You might still be able to save him!!
Luffy: I'm not leaving without you!! Why are you here, anyway?!
(Y/N): This is where Bartholomew Kuma sent me...
Ivankov: Kuma?
Behind them, a giant spiked ball fell down the elevator, rendering it useless.
Ivankov: The elevator!! I knew it couldn't be this easy! They were ready for us!
A gate closed off the staircase leading up out of Level 6 while sleeping gas began to leak into the room.
Luffy ended up falling asleep immediately, while Inazuma used his Snip-Snip Fruit powers to cut the floor and cover the gate, blocking more gas from coming in.
When Luffy woke up, Inazuma told him the bad news that they were now trapped in Level 6.
(Y/N): Damn it!! It might be too late to save Ace now!!
Ivankov: You are right, regrettably. Ace-boy is probably already aboard a Marine ship by now. He has already been handed over to the Marines. It's time to change our objective to helping you escape from this prison. Ace-boy is on his way to Marine Headquarters. Just give it up. Leave the rest to Whitebeard.
Luffy: Then I just gotta go to Marine Headquarters!!
(Y/N): <smirking> Typically Luffy...
Even though Ivankov tried to dissuade him, Luffy remained firm on his next plan.
Luffy: But first, we have to get (Y/N) out of this place! He's coming too! Right?
(Y/N): I'll go wherever my captain goes, even if it means in the middle of a war.
Inazuma: But first we have to get off this floor.
Crocodile: If you want out of here, set me free! I can make a hole in the ceiling! What do you say, Straw Hat! Heh heh heh...
Luffy: You!! You're here too?! Crocodile!!
Crocodile: I didn't think there'd be anything for me to do if I were free, but you say there's going to be a war between Whitebeard and the Marines? Now's my chance to kill that old geezer. I don't want to miss this war! With my powers I can get you out of here. It's a good deal for you and for me.
(Y/N): I'm a Logia too. I can get him out of here. You stay here and rot, you bastard!
Luffy: Yeah! Forget it! You're the one who messed up Vivi's country!!
Crocodile: That's water under the bridge. I have no interest in Alabasta anymore.
Ivankov: Let's see him free too, Straw Hat-boy. He could be a big help to us. If you want to go on to Marine Headquarters, you'd better take him up on his offer!
Luffy: What?! But he's...
Crocodile: Ivankov, eh?
Ivankov: Long time no see, Croc-boy.
Luffy: What? You know him?
Ivankov: We go way back. I knew him when he was just starting out. But it's okay. We don't have to trust him. If he tries anything, I'll fix him. <giggles> I know his weakness! But if you're a good boy and help us, I'll keep quiet about it. Wa-hoo!
Crocodile: <pissed> You bastard!!
(Y/N): Well, then take Jimbei too!!
Jimbei looked at (Y/N), surprised, before smiling slightly.
Jimbei: Yes, please! For mercy's sake!! Take me with you!! I can be of great help to you!! I've known Ace ever since he joined the Whitebeard Pirates!! I've heard him talk about his brother all these years!! I was thrown in here because I opposed this war!! I want to save Ace too! Please! Allow me a chance to die in battle!!
Ivankov: Oh... We got another big one here!
Luffy: All right, especially if (Y/N) says so.
Inazuma: Are you serious? We don't know anything about him! He's dangerous!
(Y/N): Jimbei is all right. Let him go.
Luffy: Okay!
Jimbei: I'm indebted to you!!
Inazuma used his powers to pick the locks to the two cells. The three unlocked the chains and handcuffs on the three prisoners, freeing them.
Luffy jumped at (Y/N) almost immediately, hugging him.
Luffy: (Y/N)!!! I was so worried!
(Y/N): <hugging back> I was worried too! I don't know anything about what happened to our crew... I'm just glad you're okay.
He ruffled Luffy's hair, causing his captain to giggle.
Crocodile rolled his eyes at the scene as he walked out of his cell.
(Y/N): There's still one more person we need to let out.
Luffy: Huh? Who?
The (H/C) haired male pointed to Crocodile's cell. Cyrene sat in the corner, her face covered by shadows.
Cyrene: <smiling> I'd really appreciate it, Straw Hat.
Ivankov and Inazuma both took a step back when they realized who was talking.
Ivankov: "Witch Queen" Cyrene!!
Luffy: Who?
(Y/N): She's a devil host like me.
Luffy: Whoa, really?!
Cyrene: I never committed any atrocities like the other prisoners here. Just like (Y/N), I was thrown in Level 6 only for being a devil host!
Inazuma: But you had to get your high bounty somehow.
Cyrene: Of course I fought and destroyed countless Marines for attacking me unprovoked!
Ivankov: But that's not the full reason. It's because you figured out how to use the devil's powers without it taking over your body.
Cyrene: <smirking> Indeed, and I'll be able to teach (Y/N) how to do that if I'm freed.
Luffy: Whoa, no way! You're serious? You really figured out a way to use cool devil powers?!
Cyrene: Yes. I can demonstrate once I'm rid of these dreadful Seastone handcuffs.
Luffy: So you can really help (Y/N)?
Inazuma: There's a chance she could be lying. Her bounty is extremely high!
(Y/N): I believe she can be trusted. We already made a promise to each other anyway. Besides, I haven't really seen any newspapers talking about any crimes besides being a devil host... Well, that and destroying Marine ships.
Cyrene: <smirking> Which is what all pirates do.
Luffy: Okay, then. Free her.
Inazuma: Are you sure?
Ivankov: Do it. I think she's sincere.
Once Cyrene was free, she emerged from the cell. She had long brown hair that flowed to below her knees, and two long bangs that fell to her chest. Her green eyes seemed to sparkle.
Cyrene: Thank you, Straw Hat. I hope I can aid your crewmate well.
"Witch Queen" Cyrene - Former Bounty: 800,000,000 Berries
Luffy: Hee hee. Of course!
(Y/N): First things first, we have to escape from this place.
The seven "allies" stood next to each other, ready to go to Marine Headquarters.
Ivankov: Okay!! We have to hurry!! We'll have to break out of this prison by force!! Wa-hoo!!
Jimbei: I won't let you harm Whitebeard, Crocodile!
Crocodile: Shall we settle this now?
Cyrene: Settle down, boys. We have a prison to escape from first.
Inazuma: <to Luffy> Now we have two Warlords with us, if you count Crocodile.
Luffy: Two?! Who's the other one?
(Y/N): <sweat dropping> Jimbei...the one who was in the cell with me and Ace.
The (H/C) haired male suddenly felt a shiver run down his spine. He heard faint whisperings coming from behind him. It wasn't the devil this time. It was one of the prisoners.
Slowly, the male turned and looked to the cell where the whispering was coming from. The silhouette of a man could be seen, except his hands were nailed to a wall, along with a Seastone chain wrapped around his body.
Luffy: Who're you looking at, (Y/N)? Another guy we need to free?
Cyrene: <sweating> No! You mustn't free that man! (Y/N), get away from him!
(Y/N) realized he had slowly been walking towards the man's cell. He looked at the ground of said cell and saw dried blood all over it.
(Y/N): Who is he?
Crocodile: He's a devil host as well. There's three of them here, including you and Cyrene.
Jimbei: That man is the worst of the worst. He was recently brought here as well. He massacred an entire island.
(Y/N) remembered Garp talking about the man back in Water 7. So here he was...
Ivankov: You'll have to try really hard to find someone less dastardly than him...
Cyrene: There are many devil hosts that try to reject the influence and power of the devil, like you and I... But there are also many who completely give in to its influence and relish in it. That is what this man does. Although he was already evil before the devil was sealed within him.
The man's body twitched like he was listening to their conversation. His whispering began again.
Luffy: Huh? What's he saying?
Cyrene: It doesn't matter. Ignore him. He should never see the light of day again.
Jimbei: Instead of Ace, that man deserves to be executed.
Crocodile: The dried blood on the ground is from his former cellmate. Former as in dead. He killed him with just his feet.
The man moved his head a bit. (Y/N) couldn't see his face, but he could see a smile. A wide, maniacal grin.
(Y/N): Let's go.
Cyrene: Indeed. Best to just ignore him.
Luffy: All righty then. Let's go save Ace!!

The Impel Down escapees stood in Level 5 of the prison: Frozen Hell.
Crocodile and (Y/N) used their powers to create a hole in the ceiling, while Inazuma used his power to snip the floor and create a ramp leading up to said hole.
Ivankov's followers, the Newkama, surrounded Ivankov as he gave them a pep talk about escaping the prison.
He, Inazuma, and Mr. 2 Bon Clay (or Bentham) then realized that their allies had already hurried ahead of them.
Luffy and the others were currently running up the stairway between Levels 5 and 4.
Jimbei: It's almost 10 a.m. The execution is at 3:00 this afternoon! They will definitely wait until that time comes. So if Whitebeard's going to make a move, it'll be a few hours before that. Ace is already aboard the ship. The war could begin at any time!
Cyrene: It's been a while since I've participated in a giant battle like this.
Luffy: They won't kill Ace before 3:00?! Then there's still a chance!!
(Y/N): Escaping this prison's going to be a pain though.
Crocodile hurried ahead of the others and reached the door to Level 4.
Crocodile: Doors mean nothing to me. This right hand holds the power of thirst itself.
He touched the door with his palm, and it crumbled into sand.
Impel Down guards were already waiting for them on the other side. They had weapons pointing at them.
Guard: This is Level 4! The escaped prisoners from Level 6, Warlord Jimbei, Cyrene the devil host, intruder Monkey D. Luffy, his underling (L/N) (Y/N), and former Warlord Crocodile! They're here! We'll fight them as best we can!
Jimbei: So this is Inferno Hell.
Luffy: It's hot.
The guards shot at the pirates. They harmlessly passed through Crocodile and (Y/N).
Crocodile: It feels strange for us to be fighting together.
(Y/N): Shut it. I still haven't forgave you for what you did to Alabasta!
Crocodile: And I'm not seeking your forgiveness. You can keep it for all I care.
The two proceeded to attack the guards.
Crocodile: Crescent Cutlass!!
(Y/N): Tornado Finger!!
Luffy jumped into the air.
Luffy: Gum-Gum Rain!!
He punched the guards multiple times, while Jimbei seemed to punch the air.
Jimbei: Fish-Man Karate: Arabesque Brick Fist!!
Nothing happened for a second, before many guards were blown backwards by some kind of invisible force.
Cyrene dodged all of the bullets that were shot at her before smiling.
Cyrene: It's been a while since I've fought.
Her body became surrounded by black mist. The guards shivered.
Guard: Oh, no!! It's Cyrene's devil powers!!
A large misty black arm emerged from the mist around her body, punching tons of guards at once, and defeating them instantly.
(Y/N): <surprised> So you actually can control the powers of your devil!
Cyrene: I wasn't lying, dear.
The guards began to panic.
Guards: Whoa! How can we fight?! We're up against a pirate worth 300 million Berries, two devil hosts, and two Warlords!!
Guard: Stand your ground! We have to hold them off until reinforcements arrive!
The pirates easily defeated many guards, and Crocodile even freed his former henchman, Mr. 1 or Daz Bonez, from his prison in Level 4.
Just then, Ivankov, Inazuma, Bentham, and the Newkamas busted into Level 4, ready for battle.
Luffy: <to Bentham> Bon! Did you get an energy boost too?
Bentham: I feel great!! <to Bonez> WAH!! Mr. 1!! What are you doing here?!
(Y/N): Well, if it isn't Mr. 2. I apologize for nearly killing you by tossing you over the ship when we met the first time. You turned out to be a great ally when we escaped Alabasta.
Bentham: Oh, that's water under the bridge! <shocked> Wait, why are you here?!
(Y/N): Wait a minute... Is Ms. Obon around here too?!
Bentham: Nope. She escaped with the other agents when Ms. Goldenweek planned to free us! Only me, Mr. 1, Mr. 3, and Crocodile are here!
(Y/N): So she's out in the world, huh? Meh. She's nothing against me.
Bentham: I must thank you for kicking her butt for me! She was quite annoying.
(Y/N): You said it.
Cyrene: I hate to break up whatever reunion is going on, but we're still in the middle of a battle.
Ivankov injected his face with his Horm-Horn Fruit powers, causing his head to grow huge.
The Impel Down escapees proceeded to fight through the many guards.
Luffy: Let's go!! To Marine Headquarters!!
The Impel Down escapees fought through Level 4, freeing the prisoners trapped there.
They fought against Commander Saldeath and the Bluegori, but they were not match for the combined might of the prisoners.
Up ahead, three of the dreaded Jailer Beasts of Impel Down appeared, easily defeating many prisoners. Their commander, Sadi, was there as well.
Sadi: Go, Jailer Beasts!!
Cyrene: Huh. It's the Jailer Beasts.
(Y/N): You don't seem that concerned about it.
Cyrene: Why would I be? They're only frightening when you can't fight back.
Luffy started running towards the beasts. Jimbei ran alongside him.
Jimbei: Luffy, I'll help you! I don't know how good I'll be on land, but...
Luffy: Really? You seem pretty strong.
Many prisoners screamed out in anguish as they were easily beaten back by the Jailer Beasts.
Sadi: <moans> I love those screams! <3
Luffy, Jimbei, and Crocodile hurried towards the three beasts.
Luffy: Gear 3! Gum-Gum Giant Pistol!!
Jimbei: Fish-Man Karate: 5,000 Brick Fist!!
Crocodile: Sables!!
They all defeated the Jailer Beasts in one hit, shocking the Impel Down guards.
Sadi: NOOOOOO!!!
(Y/N): <shocked> Whoa.
Cyrene: How rude! They didn't save one for me!
As the prisoners rushed towards the exit to Level 4, Sadi stood before them, waving her whip around, threateningly.
Prisoners: It's Chief Jailer Sadi!
Prisoners: Who cares?! Run her over!!
Sadi: Silence!! Respect my authority!!
She attacked the prisoners with her weapon, causing part of the bridge they were on the crumble.
Cyrene jumped at Sadi, creating a big misty arm that whacked her into a wall.
Cyrene: That's quite enough of that, my dear.
Sadi began to sweat as she smiled, nervously.
Sadi: So you're Cyrene... Why couldn't you have just stayed in your cage like a good girl?
Cyrene: It starts to get boring sitting in the same old place after a while.
Luffy and (Y/N) ran side-by-side, as they defeated guards. Inazuma was a little bit ahead of them.
Inazuma: The stairwell to Level 3 is nearby! I'll open the gate!
Hannyabal: This is the Fortress of Hell!! No one shall escape!!
Hannyabal appeared, swinging his double-sided halberd, slashing many prisoners.
Luffy: Who's he?!
(Y/N): I'm pretty sure he's the vice warden of Impel Down.
Hannyabal: Look! There are a thousand prison bazooka troops in the stairway to Level 3!! There's no way out for you!!
It was true. Behind him, the gate to the stairway was open and hundreds of troops stood on the stairs with bazookas.
Hannyabal: I won't allow you to go free and terrorize helpless citizens, Straw Hat!! I will execute you in place of the Warden!!
Luffy: Get outta my way.
Hannyabal: No way!!
Luffy and Hannyabal exchanged blows, which ended in the latter's ass getting handed to him. However, he continued to stand his ground.
He soon found himself surrounded by (Y/N), Jimbei, and Crocodile, in addition to Luffy.
Hannyabal: You're nothing but pirates and rebels who became notorious for your wicked deeds!! You want to rescue your brother?! A ne'er-do-well like you has no right to say that!! Were you allowed to roam the seas again, law-abiding citizens would live in such fear for their loved ones... They couldn't sleep at night!!
(Y/N): Move already!!
Hannyabal: This prison was constructed as a warehouse for scum like you so that decent people could live in peace!! If you were to get out, you'd terrorize the world!! But I'm not going to allow that happen!!
Luffy: I can't let them kill Ace!! Get out of my way!!
Hannyabal: Fool. Nothing I say will...
Troops: Vice Warden!!!
Behind him, the bazooka troops were being dragged into some kind of black hole of sorts.
Hannyabal: Huh?! What's going on?! Bazooka troops!! Huh?!
???: Enough talk of justice and evil. No matter where you go in this world, you're not going to find the answer to that!! It's a waste of time!!
A familiar man smashed Hannyabal into the ground, defeating him. Meanwhile, the bazooka troops were all sucked into the black hole.
(Y/N): Wait a minute... I remember him!!
Luffy: It's that guy from Jaya!!
Cyrene threw Sadi's unconscious body into the wall and walked over to the others.
Cyrene: Well, this is a surprise...
The man from Jaya and his crew of four stood in front of the stairway to Level 3.
???: Looks like everybody's here. It seems like I interrupted something. Ze ha ha ha...
Jimbei: Teach! What are you doing here? Or should I call you Blackbeard now?
Blackbeard: Jimbei... Come on. Unclench your fist! Oh, I forgot that you were friends with Ace. But you're getting mad at the wrong man.
(Y/N): Wait... He's...?
Ace had told him how he had ended up imprisoned in Impel Down. He had been defeated by the former crewmate he had been tracking down... Blackbeard.
Luffy: Blackbeard? You're Blackbeard?!
