although daniel always had his bed sheets layered in a way for her comfort whenever she was over, liberty still had one of her worst nights of sleep and woke up constantly as her mind was filled with anger and sadness towards the sebastian and haven situation, while also experiencing a lot of regret when it came the boy sleeping beside her.
she had checked the time on her phone each time she awoke, lowkey just hoped it was a somewhat appropriate time to get up and get ready for her long day, how tired she still was put aside.
it was half past five-am when she made the decision to give up, going on her phone for a moment — seeing daniel's birthday post for her which managed to put a small smile on her face, before she had gotten up and headed into the bathroom to have a shower.
standing there as she let the warm water run over her body while slightly dazing off and quickly jolting back awake. soon letting out a small sigh as reality set in, then pumping the shampoo into her hand and beginning her shower routine.
after spending more time in there than she usually would, liberty got out, dried herself off with a towel and wrapped it around her body as she begun her hair. working at a hair salon it was something she really took pride in and everyone knew it, hence why she didn't care about blow drying her hair despite it still being quite early in the morning.
then finding her little cosmetic bag she keeps at daniel's house in the cabinet, she quickly done her usual everyday makeup and got dressed for the day. cleaning up the bathroom, she headed back out to the boy's room, softly smiling as she looked at the boy still sleeping. grabbing her notebook, she wrote;

ripping the page out and placing it under his phone on his nightstand before doing as she said and leaving the house. sitting out the front in her car in silences for a moment, she then started it up and connected her phone and started the drive to her work.
"happy birthdayyy!" autumn called out to the girl as she spotting liberty walking from her car to the independent cafe next door to their salon.
"thank you," she slightly blushed as multiple people's attention from the space around them was on her for a couple seconds.
"how was the date last night?" louise asked. "i saw your story, you looked really hot."
"don't get me started," liberty sighed, shaking her head as she pulled out the empty chair and sat down.
"oh no.." she looked over at the elder, then back at the birthday girl. "are we gonna have to talk margaret into one of us doing her hair on a day you're not in?"
"no, no, she's too lovely.. i'm not gonna cut her off cause of her grandson."
"let's order food and then we're gonna need you to spill all the tea," autumn chimed in. "because i in fact thought he was acting a little weird the other night when he wasn't with you so.."
"i agree! he was defiantly being sus," the other added. "that one girl-"
"let's order our food," liberty cut her off, getting up.
"sit back down right now, birthday girl," autumn instructed. "we're paying for you today. what would you like?"
"um i'd like a latte with coconut milk or soy if they don't have it anymore, with one sugar and then a.. ham, avo and tomato bagel please," she received a nod of agreement. "thank you."
while the two wandered inside, liberty unlocked her phone as she decided that today she should at least put some effort in when it came to messages she had received from her friends. although she did choose to ignore haven's few messages which she did in fact see snippets of when they came through the previous night.
"hi mom," she held her phone up to her ear as she answered the call, following by a small audible sigh while kate and rick sung her happy birthday. "thank you," she awkwardly chuckled while shaking her head.
"you're on speaker, eden and cash are here as well, you caught them before they head to school," she added. "they just didn't want to sing along with us."
"oh, heyyy."
"hey," her two teenage siblings collectively replied.
"you're up quite early, what are you up to today?" her mother asked.
"yeah, i start work at eight.. i'm just having breakfast next door with a couple friends right now."
"any plans tonight?"
"um.. nope, i'm here all day, literally twelve hours so i'll be going home afterwards to sleep."
"not hanging out with your boyfriend?" eden, her step-sister, teased.
"seb and i broke up.."
"oh, i was talking about your other boy anyway.. you know, the one that made that cute post for you."
"are you talking about daniel?"
"who do you think she's talking about?" her step-father laughed. "that boy's in love with you, you're just too stubborn to admit it."
"he's not in love with me," she snickered.
"well what's he up to tonight then, has he at least got a date for valentines day?" kate questioned. "or are you both doing nothing?"
"i don't know mom, i don't keep track of his plans," she lied. "anyway.. enough of this love life chat, my friends are back and also we don't want those kids missin' the bus."
"we're not k-ids!"
"i heard that voice crack, little bro," liberty laughed at cash. "now get to school, i can't be the only responsible one in the family."
"we'll let you go and enjoy breakfast," her mother responded. "hope you have a good birthday."
"thank you.. byee," she hang up the call after her family saying the same farewell. liberty then sat her phone down on the table as she turned her attention to her friends. "sorry about that."
"you're all good," autumn smiled. "they'll bring everything over when it's ready."
"now, spill the tea," louise quietly clapped her hands together whilst slightly leaning in closer to the girl.
"so he met haven, my- someone i did consider my best friend, who i also live with, on tinder.. a month into us seeing each other and have been talking for the last month," she faked a grinned, nodded as they gasped in shock.
"and like.. i haven't really spoken to her and heard her side so maybe she didn't know cause i only showed her pictures of him a couple times and never introduced them but it's more the fact that after they realised they decided that they wanted to be together. and that's what pisses me off more than anything."
"oh i can imagine," autumn replied.
"that is so low of them, lil."
"mh.. so i went to daniel's and fucked shit up with him," she sighed.
"what happened?!"
"i wasn't thinking aaannd i kissed him.."
louise gasped in happiness, quickly covering her mouth; "sorry.. continue."
"did you still stay with him?" autumn slightly furrowed. "or did you go back home?"
"no, i stayed.. he wouldn't let me leave," she chuckled. "it was just.. sorta awkward after that.."
"did he say that or are you assuming that-"
"louise," the other quietly interrupted while softly shaking her head. "if you need somewhere to stay while you're working out everything, you know my door's always open for you."
"what about me?"
"yes and you," autumn jokingly huffed.
"thank you.." liberty responded to the previous comment, the three then turning their attention to the staff member who had their drinks.
