Hope Children's Home in Tampa, FL POV
I was in orphanages in Tampa, FL for two years. I'm 13 years old. It got a lot of kids there waiting from the parents to adopt them. They are headed to their new home with their foster parents. It's been a long time. I've is been there for few weeks. My mother never came. I was so angry.
"My mom didn't came. She abandoned me. How could she?"
The lady who work there tell me that is not well for me.
"She is not coming. I'm sorry, Yvonne. Your foster parents will be here in couple of days.
The kids are staring at me. There is a was light skin girl came to meet me. Her friends are there while they are waiting on new parents to adopt them.
"Hey! Who are you?"
"I'm Yvonne. What is yours?"
"I'm Michelle, This is Iesha, Kelly, and another girl name Brandi."
She is another dark skin girl. She is not in the mood.
"What is wrong with her?"
"She is been mean since. You don't want to talk to her."
"Why?"
"She is a bully. She is upset that foster parents chose light skin girl over her. She is been throwing this at them."
I can't believe it.
"WOW! It's awful!
"She should get it together."
"She will. She been thru different homes. Nobody wont adopt her because her ways."
"How old is Brandi?"
"She is 15."
"How long you girls been there?"
"I was between 9 thru 12. We lost both of our parents and my grandparents after they'll been sick a lot, and my aunts are not gonna raise us because they live in another states. They got their own kids now since."
I felt heartbroken for them. But I gonna ask them about Brandi and her parents.
"What about Brandi?"
"I can't tell you what happen to her parents. She will be upset if you're ask."
I'm still curious.
That night POV
We went to eat dinner until that girl Brandi came to me. I was just finish eating chicken, smash potatoes and corn.
"Hey!"
"Oh hi,"
"You're must been Yvonne. Right?"
"Yeah I am."
"I don't like why they got in my business after asking you about me."
"Sorry, It's not my intention to ask them about you, but I got to ask-"
"Stay out of-wait a minute, What is this?
"It's my mother's."
She took my heart necklace out of neck. She is try to put it on.
"Hey! Give it back to me."
"Awww! Hey look what that light skin girl got."
"I'm not light skin."
I felt I should tell Brandi that I was.
"You're what?"
"I'm mix."
The whole kids are in shock when they learn about me. The staff already ask. They kept me there since.
"YOU"RE MIX?"
"Michelle, I want to tell you that I'm not black and not white enough."
"Oh wow! Yvonne, You are biracial?"
"That is why your mother bring you there."
"Hey, Brandi, Back off of her. She ain't done nothing to you."
"Yeah! Leave her alone!"
"That is why your mother wasn't coming back."
I was pick on and I'm really angry when my eyes are started to watered."
"THAT'S NOT TRUE!"
"Awwww! You're gonna cry now. What a little princess you are!"
She laugh at me. They are suppose to laughing at me. But they felt sorry for me. They couldn't believe it.
"You're been a mean bitch!"
I slap her so hard in rage.
"OOOOH!"
The kids are shocked what I say. It got so ugly.
I was soo had it after I bulled in school and now I got bulled. I wipe my tear. I was raged. I fed up with this now I ran to push her to the ground and we are started. It's my first I ain't ever done it. I choke her and punch her. The kids are rooting for me. Mrs. Jones saw us fighting.
"Uh oh! MRS. JONES, THEY ARE FIGHTING!"
They stop us before Mrs. Jones, It was too late. I got to calm down as I broke down in bed cry myself to sleep.
Next morning POV
I got sent to the office and Mr. Reed wants answers.
"What in the world you're thinking picking on her?"
"Me? Yvonne went rage and slap me because I stole her heart necklace."
"Brandi, you're been sent to different homes so many after you got to the fight with bunch of light skin girls and especially brown girls like Iesha and then you pick on Yvonne for stealing her necklace."
"I didn't know she was mix. I went too far but she started to slap me because I told her that you can't with play me."
Brandi is a liar. I felt I should tell Mr. Reed. what really happened.
"Mr. Reed, Brandi is a liar. I wasn't playing with her. I felt I should defense my mix race because I deal with racism growing up. I don't have no black friends or white friends. White kids call me a "nigger."
Mr. Reed's eyes are started teary up."
"Oh Yvonne. I know how you're feel.
My father was white and he abuse me after he abuse my mom. He went to jail.
Brandi clap.
"Oh that is sad and bulls-
Mr. Reed start yelling at Brandi for mock me.
"BRANDI, SHUT UP!"
Mr. Reed is really fed with her Brandi make fun of me.
"Brandi, we are rest of people are had with the mocking with the mix race. The foster parents are still not coming.
"Uh what?"
"We are gonna sent you to boarding school."
Brandi is shocked.
"WHAT? YOU CAN'T DO THIS!"
"You going too far."
"I will never-"
"You're left me no choice."
Brandi start throw tatrum goes off.
"You're gonna give Yvonne that necklace right back to her right now and apologize to her."
"Why?"
"Her adopted parents are on their way. And they never gonna pick you."
"You'll will be sorry, Yvonne."
"Brandi, you disrespecting me. I don't like it. Your apology is not worthy. Mr. Reed, thank you for believe me."
"You welcome. It's gonna be better for you."
Adoption Day POV
The parents are here and they finally choosing them. I'm gonna miss Iesha, Michelle, and Kelly so much now their parents choose them.
"Hey Yvonne, I will miss hanging with you."
"I will miss you too, guys. Good luck."
"Good luck to you, who ever they adopted you, They've been great parents."
"Thanks, Iesha."
We're finally say goodbye as I wait now from them to get here now after been stressful two years waiting. Mr. Reed is finally ready their parents here.
"Hey Yvonne, Your foster parents are finally here. They are choosing you now."
"YESS! Finally! Who are they?"
"Yvonne, meet The Combs. Penny and David ,The Combs, this is Yvonne."
The Combs parents are light skin. They ain't got no children on their own.
"Hello, Yvonne."
"Hi."
"She is a beautiful young lady."
"Thank you."
"Where are you from?"
"We are from New York, NYC."
"Wow! NYC is a big city."
"You're gonna love it here when we get there tomorrow.
"You're mean moving to NYC?"
"That is in a big city. They got a lot of schools there that we are gonna choose for you, and it got theatre there too."
I can't contain excitement.
"Thank you soo much for everything, Mr. Reed."
"You're welcome."
We are finally are ready out.
"I'm finally been adopted. Goodbye state of Florida. NYC, Here we come."
Author note: The chapter is fantastic now Yvonne is finally The Combs are finally adopted while Brandi's annoying behind got sent to boarding school where she at. Now its about time for next chapter. Stay tuned.
