POV: Saiki Kusuo
Was looking forward to being in the comfort of my own home during the winter, but seeing multiple snowballs thrown to my window to get my attention, that hope was quickly gone. Each snowball thrown faster than the last. I took a peek outside,
"LETS PLAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
And I see Nendou and Kaidou calling out to me like they're elementary schoolers. I would gladly ignore them, but seeing how persistent they can be, and quite a few eyes telling me otherwise, I guess I have to comply. I walk down the stairs and open the door, to be greeted by the doe-eyed duo.
N: PAL! LET'S PLAY!
K: LET'S PLAY! SAIK-
They're excitement was stopped temporarily by a familiar face, standing next to me.
T: Good to see you, Nendou, Kaidou.
I didn't mention her? She has been a normal part of my life at this point. They look at us for a long second and broke out of their confusion.
N:....Oh, Teruhashi!
K: Didn't expect to see you with Saiki.
T: I've actually visited him very often nowadays.
N: Then you want to join us and pal in the snow?
K: What are you saying you idiot, we can't just invite her all of a sudden.
And they're okay with inviting me without asking first? I turn to Kokomi.
S: What do you think?
T: I'm not against a little fun.
N&K: Yay!
T: I'll go get changed.
S: Alright then.
Suddenly, I got a small headache,
T: Make sure to wear more layers since it's cold!
?: Okay!
What was that? I don't remember Kokomi saying that to me, and what was that voice of a child?
I was waiting at the door while waiting for Kokomi. It also gives me a reason to not deal with Nendou and Kaidou's antics. Kokomi finished changing and pulled my hand to drag me outside.
T: Let's go, Kusuo!
S: Alright alri-
While responding to her, I got another striking headache.
T: Let's go, dear.
I see a more grown adult Kokomi, and a small hand pulling mine to the snow, the child's appearance is still blurry to me.
?: Come on, Dad!
Dad?
T: Are you okay, Kusuo?
S:...I'm fine.
T: Was it because I pulled you too hard?
I put my hand on her head and petted her.
S: Of course not, but thank you for worrying about me.
T: Yo-you're welcome.
N: Pal! Teruhashi! Let's build a snowman!
When we walked towards them, Kaidou had an idea.
K: Now that I think about it, it wouldn't be that fun if all 4 of us are doing things separately.
T: What are you suggesting?
K: We divide in two teams, the couple and the friends!
A blatant way to see the two of us together.
T: That's a good idea.
And of course she agrees with it.
K: Our first competition will be, a snowman building contest! Each team gets an hour to make the best snowman they can!
T: That sounds fun!
K: Alright! Let's go!
As soon as Kaidou and Nendou walked away to start making their snowman, Kokomi turned to me with her hands on her waist.
T: Now, how do we start?
S:...Well.
I raised my hands forward and made a giant pile of snow in front of me with cryokinesis. Kokomi walked around it to look at me.
T: Your powers are always convenient.
S: This time is purely coincidental.
T: You made a whole hill by accident though.
I easily climbed on the hill and lend out my hand.
S: You want to get on?
T: Gladly.
I helped her up the snow hill and found pretty good view of the neighborhood. Theres even a direct view to Nendou and Kaidou arguing about their own snowman.
K: Why would you make the first snowball to be so big, you almost crushed me!
N: What are you talking about runt, a big snowman is the best snowman.
K: How are we supposed to put the next snowball when we can't even reach it?!
N: I can reach it just fine actually.
K: Of course you can you big oaf!
N: What did you say?!
T: It's like a comedy skit.
Even Kokomi's watching them. I noticed that she's been holding her hands together. And the reason why is because she didn't wear gloves.
S: Why aren't you wearing gloves?
T:...I forgot.
I see through her obvious attempt to make me warm her hands with my pyrokinesis. I let her have her way and I inched towards her to hold her hands.
S: Good grief, what am I going to do with you.
T: Hehe.
While I was warming her hand, I got another headache. I see adult Teruhashi again with a child.
T: Oh dear, where are your gloves?
?: Sorry, I forgot.
T: Now your hands are all red, ask your father to warm you up.
The kid ran to me with her palms out.
?: Warm me up please, Dad!
S:Good grief, Fine but we're getting you gloves after.
?: OK!
T: Kusuo?
S:....it's nothing.
We got caught up watching Nendou and Kaidou that we forgot to work on our own.
S: What do we plan on doing for ours?
T: I may have an idea.
After an hour, Kaidou walked to the snow hill and saw two figures sitting on top of it.
K: Where did this giant snow pile come from? Saiki! Teruhashi! Have you made your snowman?
T: Kaidou, we're right here.
Kaidou looked down the hill and saw the two of us standing next to it.
K: Wait, if you two are there, who's up there?
Kaidou squinted and found a snow Saiki and a snow Teruhashi sitting next to each other on the hill. Nendou arrived later and was confused.
N: Pal and Teruhashi haven't been moving.
K: You idiot, that's their snow sculpture.
N: I thought we were supposed to make a snowman.
K: They're the same thing, and even I thought they were both up there.
We both stood next to Nendou and Kaidou to watch the sculpture from below.
T: I felt like we missed something.
S: Did we?
K: Let's show you our snowman!
N: Right!
When we walked to their snowman, we notice they used a normal two body part snowman, and looking at the head pieces, looks like they made another me as a snowman.
K: It may look like the same snowman we made before, but we made it more realistic.
T: More realistic?
K: Voila!
Its the same snowman they made before...but its frowning instead of smiling. An effort was made for the change but not that creative.
T:...It does look him.
S: Seriously?
T: See, you're making the same face.
N: Pal's and Teruhashi's look better though.
K: I didn't think they would be that good in making snowmen.
Kokomi was still focused on the Saiki snowman.
T: I don't know, I actually like this one. It's pretty cute.
K: If Teruhashi likes ours, we could make this a tie.
All three of them look at me.
S: No.
N: Guess we lost the first round.
T: Aw. Why?
S: I worked hard on the snow sculpture.
N: So do they just win?
K: Of course not, I have another competition planned.
T: What is it?
K: A snowball fight! Same teams!
N: Is it fair for pal to go against the two of us?
K: Would it be better for her to join you, Nendou?
T: I don't think that's necessary.
K: Oh, okay then.
Kokomi noticed that the snow I'm standing on melted.
T: You're that fired up?
S: I wonder where I got that competitiveness from.
POV: Kaidou Shun
What's this? I suddenly feel a spotlight shone over me. Is a higher power finally acknowledging my worth and potential and become their champion against the worlds evils?
I raise my hands to embrace this light.
I knew I was made for a higher purpose..
N: Runt, what are you doing? Are you stupid?
K: I don't want you out of all people to call me stupid, idiot!
What am I doing? Oh yeah, we're battling Saiki and Teruhashi in a snowball fight. We asked them if they wanted to switch members to make it fair, but it looked like Saiki was ready to fight for Teruhashi, which was very manly. That's why he is my right hand man. We gave each other 30 minutes to make our own base. Nendou and I manage to make medium sized barricade. I glanced to Saiki and Teruhashi because time was up. I see a very solidly rectangular wall on their side.
K: Are you ready to start?!
A hand shows up behind a wall that shows a thumbs up, which is 100 percent Teruhashi.
K: Then let's begin!
Nendou and I threw snowballs non stop, but the wall they built wasn't losing shape one bit, while every snowball Saiki and Teruhashi threw slowly chipped our barricade down. That gave me a sly idea. I grabbed a small rock and covered it with a lot of snow.
K: Nendou, here!
N: Oh, thanks runt.
With my very accurate calculations, the toughness of the rock and the strength of Nendou's throw will break down any snow wall.
N: YOSH!
Nendou throws the snow covered rock, strikes the wall and the first snow layer fell, but the wall still stands strong. I squinted my eyes and notice that the wall seemed weirdly reflective. Is that ice?! I don't think the temperature is that cold for the snow to already freeze to ice.
K: Nendou!
N: What is it?
K: We're not breaching their barrier anytime soon, so we're going to have to go on the offensive!
N:....what?
K:...we're charging in.
N: Oh.
K: On 3. 1, 2, 3!
POV: Saiki Kusuo
We look up from our wall to see both Nendou and Kaidou running at us.
T: Why are they running at us?
S: I think they noticed that I put block ice on the wall.
T: You put block ice on the wall?
S: I never said I can control my cryokinesis, you think I made that hill on purpose?
T: What do we do?
S:...Stay here.
T: Are you sure?
S: I'm very sure.
I stand in front of the ice wall to confront the running Nendou and Kaidou.
K: You might've made an unbreakable wall, but you can't protect your girlfriend from the both of us! Let's go Kaidou!
N: No hard feelings, pal!
They both threw a flurry of snowballs at me and I can only find one way to dodge all of them. I bend my front body backwards facing the floor, moving my arms to dodge the snowballs while maintaining balance without falling down.
K: THE MATRIX?!
As soon as they run out of snowballs, I quickly stood back and threw a snowball at Nendou's face, eliminating him. Nendou fell on his back from the force of the snowball.
K: Nendou!
N: R...runt...
K: Are you okay?! Come on, get up!
N: I...I can't...I'm down for the count...
K: No! Don't say that, you can live this.
I don't think he's supposed to, being the rules of the snowball fight.
N: Runt...you're a good soldier...and a good friend.
K: NENDOU!!!!!!!!!!!!
They're really into the soldier role play. Kaidou looks at me in exaggerated anger.
K: DAMN YOU!
He is REALLY into it. Kaidou desperately makes a snowball from the ground like an action drama hero in near defeat facing the final villain.
K: YOU'LL PAY FOR THI-
I just throw a snowball at his face. That's enough acting from him.
K: you were a worthy opponent...
He's still going. I turned around to check on Kokomi and see a snowball thrown at me. I manage to dodge it and I see Kokomi with a snowball in hand.
S: What are you doing?
T: Nothing, just want to have some fun.
K: What a turn of events!
I see he stopped pretending to be dead.
T: Here I go, Kusuo!
Guess we're doing this now. Kokomi lightly throws the snowball at me.
T: Take this!
For someone that tries to beat me every chance she gets, she's not really trying right now. As soon as I wanted to easily dodge it, I get another headache. My vision became blurry and my sight suddenly became slightly distorted. The image of Kokomi throwing the snowball changed to a little girl with short pink hair, and for some reason, I can't move away. It's like my body wants to get hit on purpose. I feel like I'm in two places at once and my body feels divided. This feels like some weird side effect from the interdimensional travel. Looks like I need to confront my brother about this. This is a weirdly long monolo-
The snowball finally hit my body and I fell on my back due to the headache.
T: Kusuo, are you okay?
S:...I'm fine.
Kaidou and Nendou stood up and looked over me.
K: You did it! You won against Saiki!
T: I wasn't really trying-
N: That was fun! I'm getting hungry now.
K: I wonder what you feel like eating.
N: I feel like eating ramen! Let's go runt!
Nendou grabs Kaidou by the head and dragged him away from us.
K: Hey! Let go!
They quickly left us alone.
T: He forgot about us that fast.
Kokomi sat down next to me.
T: I'm surprised you let me hit you with the snowball.
S: I wasn't planning to, but I've been getting these annoying headaches.
T: So that's what they are.
S: You noticed?
T: How couldn't I?
S: These headaches are weird too, it's like I'm getting visions.
T: What do you see?
S: Something...different and new...but it feels familiar? It's a weird feeling.
T: I can tell from you trying to explain it.
S: It's probably caused by that time I went to my brother's dimension travel machine. As much as I don't want to, I might have to meet him again.
T: It's better that way, I've been worried for you this entire time.
S: Another weird thing is,
T: Hm?
S: Even though my vision changes quite often, you're always there.
T: What do you think that means?
S: I don't know, but it does help me get through it.
Kokomi lied down next to me on the cold snow and held my hand.
T: That's nice to hear.
I haven't told her about the little girl I keep seeing with Kokomi. There might be an obvious answer, but I can't be 100 percent sure. Even If I did tell her, I'm worried that I might change things that we have right now. I look to Kokomi looking up to the cloud covered grey sky, she noticed me looking at her and smiled. I smiled back when I realized that I never want to change the way things are now, even if the things I see might be our future together.
