So, this story was requested by @Yoohyeonspuppy_98 and sorry I'm only posting it now. Wouldn't blame you if you even forgot about the story by now 🙃
As you guys know, I was in a kind of hiatus, but I'm back now!

It was a sunny Friday and at the moment, youwere deeply asleep. Yet your slumber didn't last longer, since you start tohear someone banging on the front door of your dorm. As you slowly start toawake yourself, you notice that it's Jiwon, or E:U as she was popularly known,EVERGLOW's former leader and your best friend, who's calling for you, by yellingbehind the door:
– Hey, Y/n, wake up!
Frustrated with all the unnecessary banging, early in the morning, you finally vocalize, telling her, while still lying on the bed:
– C'mon! Let me sleep!
E:U: We're late for practice, Y/n!
– What?!
And once you hear E:U saying such sentence, you jump from the bed, quickly getting yourself up. You then look at the digital clock on the nightstand, making you groan in frustration, while complaining out loud:
– It's eight in the morning, for crying out loud! Can't we just sleep?!
Moments later, after you quickly change clothes, you finally leave your bedroom, ready to leave the dorm, but as you open the door, E:U almost falls over, with you holding her. Once she's back on her feet, she says:
– Wow, that was fast.
– Yeah, but I didn't even have a freaking cup of coffee, cuz of this.
E:U: We're on the same boat here, buddy. Now, let's go!
You then finally leave your dorm, being greeted by the other EVERGLOW members, including Yiren, who shyly looks at you, while cutely waving. After this unpleasant start of a morning, with everything ready, the seven of you head to the dorm's building's garage, getting to your group van. One by one, they get in and once everyone hopped in the van, you get to the steering wheel, proceeding to leave the building, finally heading to the company.
Almost an hour later, you and the girls arrive at the company, quickly heading inside, going straight to the practice room. Despite your presence not being necessary there, due to the rushing situation you got yourself into, you unintentionally end up following the girls. And as soon as they step into the practice room, the manager sees the girls and starts scolding them.
E:U: Hey it's not our fault, okay?! We didn't even know we had practice today, until you called!
Manager: And is that my fault?
E:U: Did we say it was?
Manager: Whatever. It's the same as usual. You all can leave at nine.
Once the manager leaves, the girls start warming up for practice. After you watch they stretch, for a while, you finally realize you were still in the practice room and with such realization, you quickly get up from the corner you were at and try to leave the room, but as you were about to leave the practice room, you hear Yiren saying:
– You can stay, oppa...
– I feel like I shouldn't. Besides, I don't wanna distract you girls, or anything.
Mia: It's okay, hyung. We don't mind your presence.
Onda: We really don't. Plus, your jokes are a really good stress reliever.
– Well, I'm glad to hear that.
Aisha: But then, if you're gonna point out every mistake we make, like our teachers, please leave now.
(Sarcastically) – Sure I will, cuz I'm a pro dancer, better than you girls, who are idols.
E:U (chuckling): Just sit back on the corner and zip it.
Yiren: Unnie!
– It's okay, Yiren-ah. It's not like I'm not used to Jiwon-ah being bossy. Still surprised she actually gave up on the leader position, tho.
Sihyeon: Okay, enough talking, everyone. Thanks to Y/n, I'm sure we're all warmed up, both physically and emotionally, we could say.
And once Sihyeon says such line, she walks over to the corner of the room, where she left her purse, taking out her cellphone. She then puts one of their songs to play, starting with 'Adios'.
Your POV:
About half an hour goes by and one more song ends, with the girls striking the final move, once again. As I was spacing out, Yiren sits by my side, proceeding to call me, asking:
– So, what do you think?
– Uhm... What?
Yiren: About the practice, our dancing and everything. What do you think of it?
– Oh, that's what you mean. Anyway, you all did great, like always.
Yiren: I'm glad to hear that...
Yiren then rests her head on my shoulder, making me flinch a bit. Crap, I hope she didn't notice...
The thing about Yiren is that despite knowing it's let's say, wrong, due to this K-Pop industry, I have a crush on her.
I initially took this job, cuz Jiwon, who's my best friend since fourth grade, called me, saying they needed a bodyguard and because of my slightly above average skills in martial arts, I took a shot and accepted her offer, which gladly led to me actually working as EVERGLOW's bodyguard. Time went by and one day, I saw myself having fallen for Yiren.
I don't know, everything about her just screams perfection. Plus, she being the maknae and sometimes acting like the baby of the group, gets my heart to melt, every single time.
Jiwon obviously knows about this crush of mine over Yiren and also does Sihyeon, that one day ended up hearing us talking about it.
When Jiwon was still the leader, despite such position of hers, she encouraged me to try my shot with Yiren, but I refused to do so and still do. But after certain insistence from Jiwon, I made an agreement with her, that I'll demonstrate such feelings, only if Yiren makes the first move, therefore showing me that she actually wants something more than a friendship, between us.
And I was lost in these thoughts and memories, I hear the practice room's door being opened, with the CEO coming in. Once he's inside and analyzes the room for a few seconds, a confused expression comes up on his face, with him asking:
– Uh, what are you girls doing here?
Sihyeon: Well, we're training.
CEO: I can see that, but why? You were supposed to be on your day off.
E:U: Wait, what?!
CEO: Yeah, I gave your girls the day off. The whole weekend, actually.
Sihyeon: Nobody told us that.
CEO: I told the manager to send both Sihyeon and Y/n a message, warning about it.
– We didn't get any messages from him or the staff.
Sihyeon: Exactly.
CEO: Well, sorry on that, then. Anyway, like I said, you girls have the day off, today, so go ahead and enjoy it.
And as he finishes the sentence, he gives us a quick farewell and leaves the room. The girls then start to chatter between them and a minute or two later, Jiwon calls for me, asking:
– Hey, Y/n, any suggestions on what we can do?
– Well, I actually do have an idea and as unusual as it might sound, since it's sunny, today, how about a picnic at an eco-park?
Sihyeon: That's actually a pretty good idea. What do you girls think?
The girls agree with my suggestion, with them proceeding to quickly pack their things and once done, we head to the company's garage. As the girls were getting inside the van, Yiren calls for me, asking:
– Oppa... Can I sit in the front, with you...?
– Yeah, sure... Is it okay, Sihyeon?
Sihyeon: Go ahead, I guess.
As the others finish getting themselves in the van, I close the backdoor and call for Yiren, telling her to also get inside. Once everyone hopped in, with Yiren sitting next to me, on the passenger's seat, I turn on the engine and start leaving the garage, heading back to our dorms.
Almost an hour later, as we arrive back at the dorms, along with Jiwon and Sihyeon, I head to the kitchen and start preparing the food we're gonna take. Since we had a few fruits lying in the fridge, I decide to also make a fruit salad and as I was making such, Yiren walks by and calls for me, asking:
– Oppa, can I have a strawberry?
– Sure, princess. Here.
Yiren's POV:
Y/n then takes one berry out of the bowl and leads it to my mouth, which I bite it. After the bite, I come back to reality, realizing the stares over the scene we just caused, with E:U unnie sarcastically asking:
– Uh, you two want us to leave, or something?
Yiren: Yah, unnie!
– Don't at us, Jiwon-ah.
After unnie's teasing, I take the rest of the strawberry from oppa's hand and finish eating it. About another fifteen minutes later, with everything ready, we all head back to the van and just like when we came, while the unnies get in the back of it, I sit at the front, next to Y/n. And once we're all settled, we finally head to a park, Y/n oppa said to know.
About half an hour later, we arrive at such park, with Y/n parking the van near the entrance and once done, we get out of the vehicle, with him taking us to a slightly isolated area, near to some wide trees that were creating some shades. We then establish ourselves, putting down the picnic basket, along with the rugs and with everything settled, we finally lie down under the shade, with Sihyeon exclaiming:
– This is what I'm talking about! I really needed this.
– So did I.
E:U: I still can't believe that the manager didn't even warn about us having a day off.
Mia: Lei it go, unnie. It's already in the past.
– Eunji is right. Now, let's forget about how YUEHUA is a trashy company and enjoy our day off, shall we?
And as the girls agree, I lean over Y/n, hugging him sideways, proceeding to bury myself in the crook of his neck. Jiwon unnie that notices my action, looks at us, while smirking, which I did notice by side looking. Bite me, unnie. As I was distracted with the thoughts over unnie's teasing, I feel Y/n wrapping his arm, hugging me back, pulling me even closer to him.
We stayed like this for about half an hour, until the girls started to announce that they were hungry, so Y/n oppa releases his grip on me, while sitting himself. He then starts getting the food out, while we all set in a circle. He then starts distributing wrapped sandwiches to everyone, and proceeding to get one for himself. As we all take a bite, Yoorim says:
– Coming to this park for a picnic was a really brilliant idea, oppa.
– Glad you girls liked it. Me and Jiwon used to come to parks like this, to do some school projects, back in the day.
E:U: Well, it was better than staying at either of our parents' house, with them teasing us, saying we looked like a couple. Like I'd date this doofus.
– Especially now that you're one step from dating Eunji.
E:U: Shut up! You and Yiren are just as close as us!
And as we all hear such implying confession, Y/n starts laughing, us the maknaes get eye widened, Sihyeon unnie face-palms and Eunji unnie chokes on the sandwich she was having, with Y/n quickly getting up and helping her out. After Y/n's assistance, she gasps for air, while saying:
– Thanks, hyung.
(Chuckling) – Glad to help.
Aisha: Did Jiwon unnie openly confess that she has a crush on Eunji unnie?
Onda: I think she did.
Sihyeon: Your reactions towards such confession are what's the most amusing.
Onda: We live this daily, unnie. We got used to it.
Aisha: Exactly. Just the actual confession that was unexpected.
E:U: Anyway! If I remember correctly, Y/n, you made a fruit salad, right?
– Yup. It's in a plastic container.
And as oppa answers, Jiwon unnie starts searching for the fruit salad. Once she finds it and sets it down on the center of our little circle, she starts distributing the forks, but when she gets to me, she says:
– Sorry, baby. There are no forks left.
– What? That's impossible. I counted each fork to make sure everyone had one.
E:U: Well, it ain't here.
– Ugh, fine. I saw some food trucks at the entrance of the park. They must have something. I'll be right back.
E:U: Take Yiren with you.
– For what reason, exactly?
E:U: She's the one who doesn't have a fork, doofus.
– I still don't see a reason for her to tag along, but okay. Let's go, Yiren.
Yiren: Okay...
Narrator:
The both of you then get up and start heading towards the food trucks, at the entrance. As you get to one of the trucks, you ask for a fork, with one of the employees giving you such. With the silverware in hands, both you and Yiren head back to the girls. On your way back, you end up thinking out loud:
– I was pretty sure I got forks for everyone.
Yiren (chuckling): Let it go, oppa. We already got what we need.
And as Yiren says such sentence, she slides her arm around yours, wrapping herself on you and with such action done, you both slow down the pace. As you were halfway back, Yiren missteps the concrete way, with her foot sliding on the slippery grass, causing her to fall.
– Oh, my goodness Yiren! Are you okay?!
Yiren: I'm fine, oppa, it's okay. I just slipped.
And with your aid, Yiren manages to get on her feet, or foot in this case. Once she's standing, you ask, while holding her:
– Can you walk?
Yiren: I think so.
You then try to move from where you were standing, but after one step, Yiren groans in pain, saying:
– No, I can't walk. My foot hurts just by touching the ground.
– You probably twisted your ankle, then. But don't worry, I'm sure it's nothing too serious. We'll just have to go to the doctor. I'll try to schedule an appointment for tomorrow.
Yiren: Okay... Thank you, oppa, for taking care of me, like this...
– Don't sweat it, princess. It's part of my job, after all. Now, come on.
You then make Yiren slide her arm around to grip on you, while you hold her by her waist and slowly get yourselves to the nearest bench. Once you get to one and assist her to sit herself, you ask Yiren which foot was hurting, with her answering to be the left one, so you take off her shoe and start to analyze her bruise. Moments later as you were distracted examining her ankle that was already a bit swollen, Yiren calls for you:
– Oppa... Can I ask you something...?
– Yeah, go ahead.
Yiren: Do you really like me...? Like, as more than just a friend...
– Oh, uh...
And with such question asked, you look up at her, seeing those sparkling brown orbs, which you had fallen in love with, quite a while ago.
Yiren: Sorry to ask you something so... Personal, like this... I just wanted to take advantage of the fact that we're alone...
– It's okay...
You then stop examining her bruise, getting yourself up and sitting by Yiren's side, with her resting her head on your shoulder. After a moment of silence, you let out a sigh, proceeding to say:
– And answering your question, yes, I do...
Yiren: Well, I like you, too oppa...
– I'm glad to hear that...
Yiren: So... What now...?
And with such question asked, Yiren lifts herself from your shoulder, with you turning to her and shortening the distance between you two, now being face to face with Yiren. You then place your right hand on her cheek, gently caressing it, which gets her to blush and giggle. And the moment your eyes meet, just like a magnetic reaction, you both start to slowly approach each other. And after a small falter, your lips finally press against each other's, proceeding to passionately kiss.
Yiren's lips tasted like strawberry, which got you quite surprised. You never thought that your long-term crush's lips actually tasted like fruit, just like you read in fanfics. But then you remember that maybe, that's because strawberry was the last fruit she ate.
And after such moment that felt like eternity in heaven, you slowly start pulling apart from the kiss, with blushed cheeks. And once Yiren looks at you, she throws herself, hugging and wrapping herself around you, while muttering:
– I waited so long for this...
– Me too, Yiren-ah...
After another few moments of you both enjoying each other's comfort, you pull apart from the hug, with you joking:
– What a way to start our relationship, huh?
Yiren (chuckling): Very funny, oppa.
– Well, despite our little accident, I'm just glad we finally got together. Now, totally changing subjects, we should get going. The girls must be worried.
Yiren: More like, thinking we went on a date, ourselves.
(Chuckling) – Most likely. So, since you can't walk, I'll have to carry you, okay?
Yiren: Okay.
And as she answers, you tell Yiren to turn sideways, proceeding to hold her legs and torso, picking her up from the bench. Once you lift her, Yiren buries herself on your chest. And with Yiren, now in your arms, you continue your way back to the other members.
About ten minutes later, you finally get back to the others and as E:U sees you with Yiren in your arms, she says in a joking tone:
– I thought you went after a fork, not a girlfriend.
– Cut the jokes, Jiwon. She slipped on wet grass and probably twisted her ankle, that's why I'm carrying her.
E:U: Wait, what?! Are you okay, then, sweetie?!
Yiren: I am, unnie, don't worry. Y/n oppa took great care of me. By the way, oppa, you can put me down, now.
– Oh, yeah. Right.
You then put her down, as Yiren said and after you quickly explain to the others what exactly happened on such accident, both of you start eating the remaining fruit salad.
~Time skip~
Due to the accident, you and the girls didn't stay longer, after you both went back to them. With that said, it was nine fifteen at the moment, with you and the girls already having had dinner, where you explained about you and Yiren finally being a couple, which was highly celebrated. And now, both you and E:U were dealing with the dishes.
As you were slightly distracted, she calls for you, saying:
– So, you two are finally a couple. How you're feeling?
– Happy, I'd say. Like you girls always tease us, we constantly act as a couple, but now it's official. I'd say that from now on, they'll be kisses and cuddles added to our relationship.
E:U: You're not wrong about that. Gotta say, I'm happy for you, Y/n. I know how long you've been waiting for this and as your bestie, I've never seen you more determined to make someone happy, as you do with Yiren-ssi, so I have very high hopes for you two and wish you two the best.
– Thanks, Jiwon-ah.
You both then keep talking about random stuff, until you finish the dishes. As you were done and about to go to your room, you call for E:U, asking her:
– Hey, where's the med-kit?
E:U: On the lower cabinet, next to the stove.
And with E:U's directions, you find what you were looking for, thanking her. With the med-kit in hands, you start to leave the kitchen, but as you were about to get in the hallway, you turn, calling for E:U, saying:
– Hey, Jiwon-ah.
E:U: Yeah?
– Despite all my jokes, if she really makes you happy- If Eunji really makes you happy... Go after her, like, chase her love. Don't let her slip away, because of fear. I know my case with Yiren is way easier and socially more acceptable, let's say, but- Just give it a shot, okay? I think that it's better to try and fail, than live on regret for not trying.
E:U (sighing): After all these years, you're still the same, huh Y/n? Still being the hopeful romantic...
– I just want to see my bestie happy, too. To experience what I'm going through with Yiren.
E:U: Tell you what, Y/n, I'll think about it. Truly, think about it...
– I really hope so... See ya, Jiwon-ah.
E:U: See ya...
And once you finish talking with E:U, you head to your dorm, walking straight to your room, where Yiren was, laid on your bed. As you get to her, you sit by her side, asking her:
– How's your ankle, sweetheart?
Yiren: Still hurting, but it's better than earlier.
– Good to know. So, I already scheduled an appointment for tomorrow and the company already knows about it.
Yiren: Do they know about us?
(Chuckling) – Nah, they don't suspect a thing. But the boss' pissed at me for letting you get hurt.
Yiren: Sorry...
– There's nothing to apologize for, princess. It was something inevitable, in the end.
And with said sentence, you get one pain relieving patch from the med-kit and after cutting it in half, you stick them on each side of Yiren's right ankle.
– Now that you're patched up, get some rest, baby.
Yiren's POV:
And as Y/n says such sentence, he puts the med-kit on the nightstand, proceeding to get up and starts changing clothes, putting on a pajama. Once changed, he lies by my side and as we face each other, Y/n puts a lock of my hair, behind my ear, making me blush, instantly.
– You're so beautiful, Yiren-ah, you know that? Definitely the most beautiful and cutest maknae I've ever seen.
Yiren: Yah, oppa! Don't say such things...
(Chuckling) – There's no need to be embarrassed about it, princess. It's only the truth, after all. Anyway, like I said before, you should get some rest. We had quite of a day.
Yiren: Yeah, we did... I love you, oppa... Thank you for always taking such good care of us, especially of me...
– I love you, too Yiren-ah... And there's no need to thank me, sweetheart. Like, I said earlier, I'm just doing my job.
Once he reciprocates, Y/n pulls me in for a hug, gently burying me on his chest, proceeding to tenderly kiss the top of my head, making me blush even more than I already was. His romanticism is so unique... After a moment of a comfortable silence, I hear Y/n saying:
– Good night, Yiren-ah...
Yiren: Good night, Y/n...
I then wrap my arms around him, quickly tightening my grip. After a while, we eventually fall asleep, with me being the little spoon. Thank you E:U unnie for calling him to be our body guard. I'm so glad for having him in my life... And about everything that happened, today, I have no regrets and wouldn't change a thing...
