Chapter 49

By TheDaleyFlames

As Y/n and Bean retreated to the safety of Bean's room, they were met with a mix of relief and grief. They had narrowly escaped Dagmar's wrath, but it had come at a heavy cost.

Herg: (cheerfully) "Y/n, you did it! You've slain Lissa!"

Y/n: (exasperated) "Herg, will you please shut up? I didn't slay her. She sacrificed herself to save me."

Bean: (teary-eyed) "It's true. Lissa... she saved Y/n."

Their emotions were raw, and the room offered a brief respite from the chaos outside. Bean and Y/n needed time to process their losses and figure out their next steps in the tumultuous world of Disenchantment.

Amidst the somber atmosphere, Bean clutched the star necklace given to her by Mora, a memento of their lost friend. Y/n sat by her side on the bed, offering a comforting presence.

Bean closed her curtain, creating a private space for her and Y/n. Y/n began to speak gently to Bean, acknowledging the pain of losing someone you care about, especially when you've had regrets about how you treated them.

Y/n: "Bean, losing someone you care about really hurts, especially when you were horrible to them and never got to tell them you love them."

Bean: (sorrowful) "Yeah, Y/n. I know what you mean. I wish I could've said it to her. Now I'll never have the chance."

Y/n and Bean shared a moment of understanding, both grappling with their feelings of loss and regret.

Zog: (peeking through the wall) "Hey, Bean, I'm sorry about what happened to Mora. I wish I could give you a big hug, but I'm all smushed in here."

Bean closed her curtain, creating a private space for her and Y/n. Y/n began to speak gently to Bean, acknowledging the pain of losing someone you care about, especially when you've had regrets about how you treated them.

Elfo: (entering through the brick wall) "I can't imagine how you guys must feel right now. I mean, I can't get over the death of Alivo."

Bean: (confused) "Who's Alivo?"

Elfo: "The only thing worth knowing is he died owing me 80 bucks, but who cares, right?"

Bean: (sympathetic) "I'm so sorry for your loss, Elfo. That must be so hard."

Elfo: (awkward) "Besides, I'm here to cheer you up. Well, not that. I'm gonna soothe you in your unimaginable grief. If you would just move your arm, I could just reach over and stroke your forehead."

Bean moved away, and Elfo sighed, realizing his attempt at comforting might not be well-received.

Elfo: "No? Okay. I mean, actually stabbing your mermaid girlfriend right in the heart, and for you, Y/n, your sister sacrificing herself to save you. What are the odds, right? Zero? I don't know. Elves are terrible at math, but you get that I don't have a point."

Luci: (entering) "You want me to bash in his face with this muffin pan?"

Miri: (entering) "Bean, this is usually the time you tell the boys to shut up."

Y/n chimed in, acknowledging the importance of grieving and healing before seeking revenge.

Y/n: "I'm all about getting revenge, fighting, and kicking the enemies' sorry asses. But now is the time for grievance. We have time for that soon, and it would be badassery kick-ass time. But right now, it's grievance. People need time to grieve and get over loss. That could take hours, days, months, or even years, or never at all."

Zog interrupted the moment, urging Bean to get her act together for their upcoming challenges.

Zog: "Bean, are you still grieving? You've got to get your act together. We've got to murder Dagmar."

Miri: "Retake the throne."

Elfo: "Revenge the elves."

Luci: "And kick Satan's sorry ass."

Y/n: "Fighting is important, but grieving is more important."

Bean nodded in agreement with Y/n's wise words, understanding that before they could confront their adversaries, they needed to find closure and heal from the wounds of loss.

Next scene.

Bean stared out of the windows at the night sky, speaking to the stars in a mix of sadness and determination.

Bean: "Mora, I don't know if you can hear me. I wish I could have you back. But what good are wishes, anyway? It's like hoping for magic to happen. And magic brings nothing. Nothing but death and sadness, card tricks, indigestions, and this headache that won't go away. There's a lot of physical ailments happening. And everyone wants magic. But you know what? I'll be damned if anyone gets their hands on it. I'm gonna destroy magic forever."

Y/n then transformed back into Alva, and Bean spoke about their need for science, which she called "stience."

Bean: "We're gonna need some stience to destroy magic."

Y/n(Alva) and Bean shared a moment of determination and unity.

Y/n(Alva): "Bean, with you by my side, there's nothing we can't do."

The two of them leaned in and shared a passionate kiss, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

Next scene.

Bean had an unusual seaweed crown on her head, and she and Y/n went to meet Elfo, Luci, and Miri. Bean defended her unique choice of decoration.

Bean: "So what if I like to stack seashells in little mounds and drape my hair with seaweed and moan inconsolably? You didn't hear me moaning, did you?"

Y/n acknowledged that he understood she was still upset about Mora, just as he was torn up about Lissa.

Y/n: "It's about time we moved on. And who wouldn't be torn up by Mora, especially after that steamy hot session and all?"

Elfo was curious about where the conversation was going, and Y/n quickly clarified that he was done talking about that particular topic. Elfo then raised a concern about the growing magic in the kingdom.

Elfo: "Bean, magic is seeping up, down, and out all over the place. Given the general leakiness of this kingdom, it won't be long before everyone knows about it."

Y/n reassured them, emphasizing the love and support they had from those who stood by them till the very end. Luci chimed in with a darkly humorous take on the potential consequences of magic falling into the wrong hands.

Luci: "If magic falls into the wrong hands, who knows what unspeakable horrors could happen. Let's speak of it. I know if I got my greedy little mitts on it, I'd turn all rivers to blood, all rich people into pigs, and I'd outlaw sitting down. And I'm just a minor evil guy. Imagine what a true reprehensible person like Dagmar or Mertz would do with it. It wouldn't be the end times; we'd want it to be over."

Bean's response was straightforward.

Bean: "Fine by me."

After Elfo, Luci, and Miri left the room, Y/n and Bean found themselves alone. Their love and connection were evident in their conversation, showcasing their unique bond.

Bean: "You know, Y/n, sometimes I feel like everything's falling apart around us."

Y/n: "Yeah, it does seem that way, but we've always managed to stick together, through thick and thin."

Bean: "You're right. It's just... I miss Mora so much, and losing Lissa was hard for you too."

Y/n: "I know, Bean. It hurts, but we have each other. We've faced worse together, and we'll get through this too."

Bean: "I don't know what I'd do without you."

Y/n: "Likewise, Bean. We're in this together, no matter what."

Bean: "You know, Y/n, you've been there for me through all of this. I can't express how much you mean to me."

Y/n: "Bean, you mean the world to me too. We've been through so much together, and I wouldn't have it any other way."

Bean: "I was so lost before I met you. I didn't even know who I was supposed to be."

Y/n: "And now, you've grown into this amazing, strong, and caring person. I'm proud to be by your side."

Bean: "You always know how to make me feel better, Y/n."

Y/n: "That's what I'm here for, Bean. We're a team, and we'll face whatever comes our way, together."

Elfo: "Dagmar just kicked our asses, Bean. Dreamland is in real trouble, and without you, it might not survive. We need your help."

Miri: "Bean, you might be the only one who can stop Dagmar, aside from maybe a giant boulder."

Bean was taken aback by Miri's elven ears, and Y/n couldn't resist injecting some humor into the situation.

Y/n: (Striking a dramatic pose) "Fear not, for I shall be your knight in... well, whatever attire I'm wearing."

Bean, touched by Y/n's commitment, couldn't help but inquire about Luci's fate.

Bean: "Luci? Seriously, Elfo?"

Elfo: "I'm afraid so, Bean. Dagmar sent him on an express trip to, uh, the Great Beyond. He didn't exactly take the scenic route."

Y/n: (With a smirk) "Ah, yes, the classic 'villain's disposal method.' It's as iconic as... uh, that thing with the... you know, hero stuff."

Miri tried to steer the conversation back on track.

Miri: "Bean, we need your help. Without you, Dreamland is in deep trouble."

Bean, now aware of the immense challenge ahead, vented her frustrations about her mother.

Bean: "Her mother is not just evil, she's a real... asswipe."

Miri, trying to uplift Bean's spirits, reminded her of the tremendous power she held.

Miri: "Bean, there's just one person with powers equal to hers now. We're all betting on you, Bean."

Just then, some residents from Steamland entered, eager to offer their assistance, praising the wonders of science.

Steamland Resident: "Science is such a beautiful thing! And remember, it can help."

Elfo, always with a nugget of wisdom, spoke about destiny and how one faces unavoidable challenges.

Elfo: "Bean, I've learned that some things in life are unavoidable. That's the part that seems like destiny. But how you face them, that's up to you."

Miri chimed in, echoing Elfo's sentiment.

Miri: "I know it seems crazy, but for once, Elfo's right."

Amidst this conversation, Bean couldn't help but notice the affectionate glances between Elfo and Miri.

Bean: "Wow, mop girl and Elfo, another thing I haven't noticed. Are you two in love?"

Elfo and Miri shared meaningful looks, confirming that love had indeed blossomed between them.

Elfo: Speaking of rides, shouldn't we get going on our mission? We have to stop Dagmar and save Dreamland.

Miri: Elfo's right. Let's not waste any more time.

Y/n: Agreed. We have science, stience, and a whole lot of determination on our side.

Bean: And love. Don't forget that. I may not have said it enough, but I love you guys.

Miri: We love you too, Bean.

Elfo: And we love each other. Now, let's go kick some magical butt!

Bean: What are we doing again?

Y/n: Your mom, stealing magic.

Bean: What the actual hell? Really? (Stuttering for words to find) What are you standing like that for? Why didn't you tell me? I understand. I understand all too much. Let's go.

Bean grabbed her sword and stormed off, ready to confront her mother and put an end to the magical chaos.

Y/n: "Well, grab your magic-repellent umbrella because it's about to rain spells, baby!"

Guard: Stop them before they start singing!

Bean and Y/n, holding hands, burst into a song as they skillfully cut through the enemy ranks.

Bean and Y/n (singing together):
🎵 "Got a sword, I'm feeling bold,
Facing magic, we're not sold,
Through the chaos, we will stride,
With our love, we won't hide. 🎵

🎵 We're the duo, taking flight,
In this mystical moonlight,
Magic's strong, but love is strong,
In our hearts, where we belong. 🎵

🎵 Angel with a sword, no fear,
In this battle, we are near,
Cutting through, with love so true,
We'll win the day, me and you. 🎵

Bean and Y/n continued their enchanting performance, using their swords with incredible precision as they sang their hearts out and fought their way forward.

Bean and Y/n (singing together):
🎵 "Magic swirls, but we stand tall,
Breaking curses, breaking all,
In this clash of light and dark,
We'll ignite a brand new spark. 🎵

🎵 Angel with a sword, so bright,
Fighting through this endless night,
With our love, we'll find our way,
In this magic-infused ballet. 🎵

As Bean and Y/n's voices filled the air, their swords danced in perfect harmony with the lyrics. They moved gracefully, parrying spells and striking down foes with each swing. The guards tried to counter their advance, but the power of love and determination was on Bean and Y/n's side.

Bean (singing):
🎵 "Through the darkness, we'll prevail,
Love's the magic that won't fail,
Every spell they try to cast,
We'll break through, it won't last. 🎵

Y/n (singing):
🎵 "With our hearts so full of fire,
We'll conquer, we won't tire,
In this battle, side by side,
Love and courage are our guide. 🎵

The guards, once determined, began to falter under the relentless onslaught of Bean and Y/n's dual assault. They couldn't help but be captivated by the unexpected serenade amidst the chaos.

Bean and Y/n (singing together):
🎵 "Angel with a sword, we soar,
Through this battle, we'll explore,
Love's the weapon, love's the might,
In our hearts, we'll win the fight. 🎵

With each triumphant note, Bean and Y/n carved a path through the remaining guards, their swords flashing with brilliance. The guards were left dazed and defeated, unable to withstand the power of love and music combined.

Bean (questioning): "Why's it getting dark all of a sudden? It's only 3 PM!"

Y/n (curious): "Something fishy's going on here, Bean."

Bean and Y/n ventured forth and confronted Dagmar at the throne, Freckles lurking nearby.

Bean (assertive): "We've got each other, Dagmar. What's your game here?"

Y/n (confident): "Yeah, and what's the deal with Freckles? He's got hinges!"

Freckles (defensive): "I ain't a creepy puppet anymore, I'm a creepy boy."

Bean (mocking): "With real brain instead of old newspapers, huh?"

Y/n (deadpan): "He's still a puppet, though."

Bean (curious): "Freckles, what's shrinking out of your ears?"

Freckles (innocently): "Oh, no, it's an editorial about today's troubled teens."

Dagmar (wistful): "It's a shame. I wish it was you and me on the throne, sharing the two powers only two witches ever had."

Bean (defiant): "Doesn't matter, Dagmar. We've got each other."

Y/n (supportive): "That's all that matters."

Bean (questioning): "Wait, I'm  a witch?"

Dagmar (disappointed): "A very disappointing one."

Freckles attempted to trick Bean and Y/n into backing up toward a trapdoor, but they were quick to evade the trap.

Y/n (impatient): "Let's get to the point here. What's your endgame, Dagmar?"

Dagmar (confident): "You won't win. We're equals, but I have more experience."

Y/n (firm): "What good are all those powers if you don't have love, support, or friendship?"

Bean (nodding): "He's right. (questioning) And do you really have more experience than me? You were stonified when I was 4. Do the stience math."

Dagmar (frustrated): "Enough of this!"

Dagmar attempted to strike both Y/n and Bean with her lightning, but they agilely dodged her attacks.

Y/n (triumphant): "Love: 1, Dagmar: 0."

Bean (grinning): "Looks like we bested you in something, Dagmar."

Bean (assertive): "I've had love. I've been loved. By Y/n, Mora, my friends, my dad, and by Oona, beautiful Oona. And according to the latest poll, 40% of my subjects love me."

Bean used her lightning punch to knock Dagmar down.

Bean (defiant): "You, on the other hand, have never been loved by anyone but yourself!"

Bean continued, her words dripping with disdain.

Bean (accusing): "You're a narcissistic maniac!(confident) So, by that very argument, I'm stronger. I may have come from your finely toned belly, but I owe you nothing!"

Y/n (nodding): "She's got a point. You can't argue with that."

Dagmar (victorious): "You may have a point, but I have reinforcements."

Dagmar unleashed a powerful lightning blast, sending Bean and Y/n flying backward.

Dagmar (commanding): "Lucius! Bad Y/n! Help me!"

Lucius and Bad Y/n, still alive, answered the call and joined the battle. Zog rushed in to assist his daughter.

Bean and Y/n found themselves struggling against the combined might of Lucius and Bad Y/n. The battle raged on, with lightning and swords clashing in a chaotic frenzy.

Bean and Y/n fought valiantly, their swords clashing with Lucius and Bad Y/n. It was an epic battle that seemed to stretch on endlessly. The room crackled with magic, and swords swung with precision.

Bean: "Y/n, we can't keep this up forever!"

Y/n: "I know, Bean. We need a plan."

As they continued to fend off the attackers, they exchanged ideas on how to turn the tide of the battle.

Bean: "What if we distract them? I'll do a ridiculous dance, and you hit them when they're laughing."

Y/n: "Bean, that's a terrible plan."

Bean: "Well, got a better one, smarty-pants?"

Y/n: "Actually, yes. Let's use the environment. See that chandelier up there? If we cut the rope, it'll fall on them."

Bean: "You always have the boring ideas."

Despite their bickering, they managed to position themselves under the chandelier. With a well-timed strike, Y/n cut the rope, and the massive chandelier came crashing down, narrowly missing Lucius and Bad Y/n.

Lucius: "You think you can defeat me with a chandelier?"

Bad Y/n: "Yeah, seriously, who do you think we are?"

Bean: "Two people who are about to be squashed like pancakes!"

Bean and Y/n continued their assault, taking advantage of the distraction. The battle raged on, each side refusing to yield, and the room filled with the echoes of clashing steel and spells.

Bean and Y/n were locked in a fierce battle with Bad Y/n and Lucius, and the tension in the room was palpable.

Bad Y/n: "You really think you can defeat us?"

Lucius: "Yeah, we've got the upper hand here."

Bean exchanged a determined look with Y/n.

Bean: "Oh, you asswipes think you can take us down? You're in for a damn surprise."

Y/n chimed in, flipping the middle finger at their adversaries.

Y/n: "Yeah, that's right, you bitches. We're not going down without a fight."

The insults and taunts flowed freely as the battle continued. Swords clashed, magic flew, and punches were thrown.

Bad Y/n attempted to cast a spell, but Y/n was quick to counter it.

Y/n: "Nice try, but you'll need more than that to stop us!"

Bean swung her sword with fury, narrowly missing Lucius.

Bean: "You're going down, Lucius!"

Lucius retorted with a wicked grin.

Lucius: "We'll see about that, princess."

The battle raged on, filled with curses, insults, and the determination to emerge victorious.

Bean and Y/n, fueled by their love and determination, continued to battle Lucius and Bad Y/n. The air crackled with energy as Bean summoned her lightning, her eyes filled with the power of their shared love.

Bean: "You see, love can do some crazy things. Like charging up my lightning."

With a fierce roar, she released a powerful bolt of lightning that sent Bad Y/n sprawling.

Bad Y/n wasn't done yet, though. He lunged at Bean, but Y/n intervened. Lucius grabbed Y/n's arms and tried to pin him to the ground, but Y/n had other plans.

Y/n: "Not so fast, you bastard."

With a swift and unexpected move, Y/n delivered a swift kick to Lucius's sensitive area, causing him to yelp in pain. Y/n didn't stop there; he followed it up with a punch to the face and a stab to the foot, leaving Lucius disoriented and in agony.

Before Lucius could regain his composure, Y/n spotted a nearby cannon. He quickly lit the fuse, and with a deafening explosion, Lucius's head was blown clean off, leaving only a smoking stump.

Bean: "And that, my friends, is how we handle grade a certified a-holes."

The battle was far from over, but Y/n and Bean had just dealt a significant blow to their adversaries, all thanks to the power of love and a well-timed cannon.

As Bad Y/n attempted another attack, Y/n displayed his agility and combat skills. He gracefully dodged Bad Y/n's strikes and swiftly counterattacked. With precise and calculated movements, Y/n sliced through Bad Y/n's legs and arms, rendering him limbless.

Y/n: "Looks like you're falling apart, buddy."

But Y/n wasn't done yet. With a final flourish of his weapon, he decapitated Bad Y/n, ending the fight with a dramatic and gruesome flourish.

Bad Y/n: "Well, that was unexpected... and kinda cool."

Bad Y/n accepted his fate with a sense of appreciation for the dramatic exit, even in death. The battle was intense, and Y/n's skills had proven to be a force to be reckoned with.

Amidst the chaos and the remains of the machine, Y/n transformed back into Alva. As Bean and Y/n prepared their counterattack, they spoke with conviction.

Y/n(Alva): "Bean, it's time to show Dagmar the true power of love. Our love."

Bean: "And stience, don't forget stience!"

Y/n(Alva): "Right, stience, love, and a little anger for good measure."

With that, they channeled their combined strength into the machine. Bean's black lightning and their love for each other surged through the contraption, charging it with immense power. They believed that love, fueled by stience and anger, was the ultimate force.

The machine discharged a colossal blast, and Bean and Y/n exclaimed together, "Boom, Love conquers everything!"

Their moment of triumph was short-lived when Dagmar emerged seemingly unscathed, now even more powerful. She retaliated by charging the energy back at the machine, causing it to explode. Y/n's quick thinking saved Bean as he pushed her out of harm's way, taking the hit to his shoulder. Both of them were knocked unconscious, their fate uncertain.
