Narrator
"If I even see one scratch on my baby, I will kill you," Kid groggily told Minji as they hanged their car keys in front of her.
Minji just stared at Kid nervously and nodded.
Before Minji knew it, Kid tossed her the keys to their car and sleepily walked away.
- Minji POV -
I was nervous about the day to come.
I was on "making things up with Haerin" mode, so I called Kid at like 5 in the morning to let me borrow their car.
"You're gonna ask her?!?" Kid exclaimed as I explained why I needed the car.
"What?! No. I'm just gonna take her on a friendly date!" I panicked at even just the thought of asking Haerin to be my girlfriend.
"Besides, I really don't think Haerin remembers anything that happened last night," I sighed out.
"Well, I think you should ask her but sure whatever. Let me get the keys," Kid responded in disappointment.
As much as Kid annoyed me with just about everything they did....
I felt really grateful to have a friend who's constantly doing what they can to help me get closer to Haerin.
"Where did you go so early in the morning?" Haerin groggily asked as I walked back into our dorm.
"Umm.... just went to run an errand," I gave her a soft smile.
"But, why are you up? It's too early. Go back to bed!" I chuckled out as I grabbed Haerin's hand to take her back to her room.
Haerin groaned and dragged her feet across the dorm, looking like a little kid who was being forced to do something they didn't want to.
"Umm, Minji?" Haerin suddenly mumbled.
"Yeah?" I whispered.
"How did I get in bed last night? I don't remember," she shyly asked.
I silent chuckled to myself, "I knew she wouldn't remember."
Haerin seemed way too tired last night to even know what she was doing.
"I carried you to bed," I said in a cold tone... just to tease her...
"What?! Why?" Haerin exclaimed in a panic.
"You were falling asleep on me and I didn't like it. So, I picked you up and carried you to bed... but then you refused to let me go and asked me to get in bed with you," I kept on teasing her with a cold look and my arms crossed.
"What? Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" Haerin cutely pouted in embarrassment.
"It's okay. You can make it up to me by going on a date with me," I smirked.
I didn't even realize what words had just come out of my mouth, until Haerin's eyes went wide and she backed away from me.
"D-d-date?"she stuttered.
"Yeah, like a friend date!" I gave her a smile to calm her down.
I was startling to see that Haerin maybe really was a bit weirded out about all the dating a friend stuff.
It sort of broke my heart a bit.
"Umm, okay... but only because I feel bad that I caused you so much trouble last night," Haerin shyly mumbled.
Her cheeks were all red and she seemed really shy, but her whole demeanor seemed a bit uncomfortable.
"We don't have to. It's fine if you don't want to!" I chuckled out of nervousness.
The last thing I wanted was for Haerin to feel uncomfortable with me.
"No, it's f-fine. I want to....," Haerin mumbled.
"It's fine!" I nervously laughed.
"No, let's go on a date!" Haerin abruptly exclaimed in frustration.
"I mean a friend date," she corrected herself.
I took a deep breath, not knowing what to think.
"Alright, go get ready," I sighed out a bit frustrated.
"She's so confusing," I thought to myself.
"Now you seem like you don't want to go," Haerin bit her lip a little.
"I do. Go change," I sighed out.
"You seem upset now," she mumbled back while looking down at her feet.
I was a bit frustrated at Haerin's confusing behavior, but I didn't want my feelings for her to ruin what's supposed to be a good day....
So, I responded... "I'm not upset at you. Kid just kind of annoyed me this morning and it's still lingering."
I wasn't entirely lying though.
Kid suggesting me to ask Haerin out was getting to me a bit.
*RING, RING*
Suddenly, my phone started to ring.
I picked it up, just to find 'Kid' on my caller ID.
"What?" I answered.
"Going on a weekend trip to LA with Soojin. Need you to house-sit," Kid coldly spoke on the other line.
"And why would I do that?" I rolled my eyes over the phone.
"Because I lent you my car and need you to feed my cat," Kid answered with sass.
"Bring your- Umm- yeah, babe!" Kid seemed to be distracted by something.
"Girlfriend," Kid finally finished their thought.
"I don't have a girlfriend," I coldly responded.... stealing nervous glances at Haerin in the process...
Haerin seemed to be looking around the dorm, trying to be respectful of my phone conversation.
"My cat's name is girlfriend," Kid seemed annoyed as hell.
"Just get your ass over here with Haerin and get the damn keys to the house. I'm not playing around Kim," Kid sternly said before hanging up.
I sighed in annoyance, but knew I couldn't decline Kid's request.
After all, I had asked for a favor first.
"Who was that?" Haerin curiously asked.
"Kid needs us to cat sit. So, go get changed so we can go," I gave her a soft smile.
"Yay! Kitty Kat!" Haerin squealed before running off to her room to change.
"She's so cute!!" I cooed to myself.
- Haerin POV -
Minji unnie was acting really strange.
When I woke up, it felt like someone had left my room or something, so I got up to check but Minji was nowhere to be found.
She wasn't in her room or in her bathroom. She wasn't in my bathroom either.
The little movie night setup we had was all cleaned up, but she wasn't in the living room either or in the kitchen.
"Where could she have gone so early in the morning?" I thought to myself.
Not long after I woke up, Minji unnie came back home...
And I finally got my question answered.
Well....
All my questions answered.
I had also been wondering how I even got to bed. I didn't remember getting into bed at all.
" I picked you up and carried you to bed, but then you refused to let me go and asked me to get in bed with you," Minji unnie explained.
I could feel myself start to turn completely red in embarrassment. "What? Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" was all I could really say.
But.... all my brain wanted to ask was.... "Did you? Did we sleep together?"
My silly thoughts suddenly got interrupted when Minji asked out on a date.
I started to feel a little weird about her request.
My hands were getting clammy and my heart started to race.
"Like a friend date!" Minji clarified.
I started to feel more at ease by her request with the clarification, but I still felt unsure about it.
When Minji asked....
She seemed so serious about it.
"It's fine if you don't want to!" Minji started to change her mind.
I wanted to say 'yes' so bad.... but I didn't want Minji unnie to get the wrong idea... or maybe I was getting the wrong idea.
I don't know.
I was getting confused.
Out of frustration, I just yelled... "Let's go on a date!"
Minji seemed upset at this point and we just kept bickering back and forth about going on a friendly date or not.
Eventually, we got interrupted by an early morning phone call from Kid.
I was doing my best to not try to hear the phone conversation that was going on in front of me, but got a little curious about what was going on when Minji suddenly said....
""I don't have a girlfriend."
I tried to not make it seem like I was listening to the conversation, but from the corner of my eyes....
I could see Minji unnie getting all blushy and flustered.
"Oh, so she's that type of person?" I wondered to myself.
Before I knew it, I was running to my room to get dressed because Kid wanted us to babysit their cat.
"Kitty, Kitty- Kit-ty," I mumbled to myself as we walked down the stairs of the UniHall dorm.
"Kitty Kang," Minji unnie suddenly giggled.
I couldn't help but shyly smile.
We finally got down to the main door of the build and I turned to ask Minji, "What dorm hall does Kid live in?"
Minji just laughed without giving me an answer and instead grabbed my hand.
I started to get nervous as she guided me towards a random side of the building.
Unnie then pulled out some keys out of her pocket and a random car beeped.
"Woah, that's kid's car!" I thought to myself.
"I asked Kid to let me borrow their car for our date today. That's the errand I had to run this morning. Picking up the car," Minji explained before I could even ask.
A lot of emotions were running through my head all at once.
I had so many questions.
"Why would Kid let Minji do that?"
"Why would Minji even ask?"
"I don't know if I like how close they are. They're even asking each other for favors."
I bunch of thoughts were going through my head...
Until, Minji said... "Kitty Kang? You getting in?"
I took a shy and nervous breath before nodding.
Minji then opened the passenger car door for me and I shyly got in the car..... trying to hide the fact that I was blushing....
