Athanasios pov
I wake up from my afternoon nap and see my brother sleeping on his bed, it's been 3 years since my mom died and since we were born, my father has gotten better but still always has a sad aura around him
I always want to make him smile and always succeed but people always say my smile resembles my mom's, so sometimes he would go back to being sad in which I would either
Start giggling or start making silly faces, that mostly works, anyway, some time has passed since then and the empire didn't take the empress or my moms death good, the whole empire was devastated along with the maids who worked with my mother
My dad has also been more protective of me and my brother, he wouldn't want anyone except Felix and our assigned maids, Lily and Celia, to touch or hold us, Lily and Celia being my mothers assigned maids and close friends inside the castle, and Felix being our now assigned knight as well being my fathers
Or even when someone would look at us the wrong way or make marriage proposals, he would give them a glare or a beating, depending on how badly they annoyed my dad by looking or talking to us
The doors open and here comes Celia, "Good morning your highness, how did you both sleep" "Good!" anteros says, "good Celia" "that's great to hear your highness"
She helps anteros out of the bed while lily helps me, "Good morning your highness" "Good morning lily" I say and smile at her in which she returns
they change our outfits and pick us up taking us to my fathers office, "Are we gonna go see daddy?" Anteros asks looking at celia, "Yes, his majesty called both of you" "Are we gonna eat sweets again" I dont know your highness" She says smiling at him
lily knocks on the door and felix opens, "Sir Felix, your majesty, we brought the princes" My father gets up and walks up to the maids and grabs me and anteros, "Thank you lily, and Celia" they say goodbye and leave
He takes us to the couch and sits with us, "So how was your nap?" "It was good father" I say smiling at him and he smiles back, "Such big words for a kid your age, Athanasios" I act confuse and he smiles, "What about you anteros" "I dreamt of a women with black hair and pretty blue eyes" I freez and look at claudes face, his eyes start glowing but not out of anger, out of saddens
"So father can we go to the royal banquet?" I say changing the subject, he looks at me, "I don't know athanasios, it's dangerous-" "But you'll be their to protect me along with Felix" I say picking up a cookie off the table, he sighs, "Do you really want to go?"
I nod my head, "Alright, but you have to stay close to me at all times, including you anteros" we nod our heads again and smile.

A few days later
It's been a few days since then, and me and my father are just walking to banquet hall where everyone is

Athanasios Claude Anteros
I start to hear people talking and I look at my father who's carrying us right now, "Are you two ready?" he says and I nod, "yes!" Anteros yells and my father chuckles, "ok then" he looks at the guards and tells them to open the door
They open it and I see people chatting and drinking their drinks, but they stop and look at us, Now apparently Claude or my father wanted to host a party for my uncle, mom side of course, since his wife is pregnant, and he wanted to congratulate him
Everyone says hi to my father and us and he walks over to the throne and sits down, I start to hear people talking about us well more importantly, how we resemble our father
A man then starts to walk up to us and bows his head a bit, "Claude" "Cesar" "May I hold them" he says smiling, "Of course, be careful" Claude warns him before handing me to him, "You look exactly like her" he says, then he looks as anteros, "Daddy, who's that?" "he's your uncle"
Cesar chuckles, "You two definitely get your cuteness from your mother" "your mamma's brother?" I say tilting my head a bit, "Yes" he says with a small smile, all of a sudden the music start and people start to gather around the dancers
Father gets up with anteros while I'm still with cesar and I notice something or well somebody, 'Wait that lady looks like Diana' I look at Claude and see him staring at her intently
"Wow, their all so pretty!" anteros exclaims while Claude nods at him while smiling, I look back at Cesar and I lay my head on his, he smiles and hugs me tighter while we still watch the dancers
After the dance was done, the nobles start to dance, "Felix" yes your majesty, "please take care of Athanasios and anteros" he says " it's ok Claude, I'll look after them" cesar says while taking Anteros out of clauses hands, "Thank you"
Claude's Pov
I walk down the stairs and make my way through the crowd and see her, the lady that was dancing, the one with ruby eyes and blonde hair I see her back and I tap on it, she turns around and I see her clearly now
My eyes widen from her beauty, "Your majesty" she says bowing down, "Is their something I could help with" she says with a smile, I offer my hand, "may you dance with me" I say while looking at her
She smiles, "of course your majesty" she grabs my hand and we walk to the middle of the banquet hall, I start to hear whispers but I don't care, we start dancing and I could tell she knows what she's doing, she laughs a bit, and I smile a bit
"I can tell your not used to this your majesty" she says with a chuckle, "Yes, I don't really dance " she laughs and I'm just memorized by her laugh and everything really
We were about to end the dance until I heard glass, breaking along with screams from the nobals, I turn around and see Felix fighting some guy in a black hood along with Cesar fighting some other black figure I start running over to them and I move my eyes looking for my sons, their behind the throne and I'm relieved they aren't hurt,
Until a shadow appears behind them with a sword.
Athanasios pov
I took my brother hand and leave to go behind the throne as I see my father running over to us in a hurry and I see the relieved face he has on when he sees us, until he has worried expression on his face, then I notice a shadow behind me and my brother
I look behind and see them with a sword ready to kill me but I move just in time, he only manages to cut my cheek until my father kicks the life out of him and stabs him but not enough to kill him
He turns to us and looks at me with glowing eyes with rage in front of them
Claude pov
I turn around and look at Athanasios and I start to feel anger when I notice the cut on his cheek, I turn my head back to the man and getting ready to stab him in the head until Felix calls out
"Your majesty wait!" "why would I wait?" "We have to get information about who tried to kill the princes" I grit my teeth because he's right, as much as I want to skin him alive and stab him until I'm satisfied, we have to get information
I lower my sword and walk over to my sons, "fine but after your done getting information, I'm killing him" I say looking at Felix" I pick both of them up and walk over to cesar, "Are they ok?!" he says worried, "Their fine, Athanasios has a cut on his cheek" just saying that made my blood boil
"Your majesty" I hear the dancers voice again and I calm down a bit, "Sorry I didn't get your name?" I say embarrassed a little, "It's diana" she's with a bow and I nod
I start to hear athanasios squirm a bit and still see him bleeding, "I'm sorry lady diana but I must leave, I'll see you soon so you can give me lessons on how to dance" I smile a bit and she nods with a smile, "alright your majesty"
