I Hate You

Athanasios pov

After finding out about the first prince, iv introduced him to Claude, and at first he was cold and distant and only let him join us for me and anteros, but after a couple of months, he warmed up to him and moved him out of the jade palace where I found out that only unworthy royals live

And moved him into the imperial palace, so that he doesn't have to walk a long way, as well as letting Felix train him to be an imperial knight.

While Diana has been taking all of Claude's attention which Anteros doesn't like and is starting to become distant from claude, and Claude being distracted by Diana's pregnancy, he doesn't notice which also kinda annoys me since he's technically replacing my mother and us

Anyway, I'm currently in my room reading a book while Anteros is drawing some pictures, until lily comes inside, "Your highness, his majesty has called for the both of you"

"for what exactly?" "I don't know your highness, he didn't say" I nod and get off my bed and anteros gets up from the floor and leaves with me to claudes office

"I bet it's about that commoner" "she's nice anteros-" "Like I care, she's just taking dads attention" I stay silent and we reach claudes office, I knock on the door and enter, "You called father"

"Yes, have you two eaten?" "yes-" "why would you care?" I look at Anteros with a bit of a shock face, "Excuse me?" "All you ever care about was that wench over there!" he says as he points to Diana

"Mind your tone Anteros" claude says with a slight glare, "No!, first you let her visit every day, and then she starts staying at the palace, and now she's pregnant!?" I have my head down and let him finish, "what's next, you're gonna get married?!"

Claude and Diana stay silent, "wait...no
You arent..." "that's why I called you both here, Diana and I are getting married" I look at claude then Anteros, "Why would you marry a woman like her, she's nothing compared to us!" "Thats enough Anteros!"

Claude gets up, "why would you want to marry her!, didn't you like the way we were without someone like get-" A slap sound echoes and I stare in shock while Anteros is quite

"..." Claude takes a second, then anteros bows his head and leaves, Claude stares at him before looking at his hand, the hand he slapped Anteros with, "What did I do..."

He looked at me, and I look in his eyes.

Claude pov

I stare at my hand and stare at Athanasios, he looks at me with a familiar look of disappointment, and bows his head and leaves, "Claude..." "what did I do diana, I hit him, when I'm supposed to do the opposite, she asked me to protect them, but instead I hurt them..."

She walks up to me and hugs me from behind, "It's ok, sometimes we make mistakes, and it's ok-" "No!, it's not ok!" and i start sobbing with my hand over my forehead, "I can't make mistakes with them...I just can't"

The next few days went slower than I expected, not once did the twins come and see me and when I asked them, they said they were busy or they weren't feeling good

And I would nod and see them for myself but they never wanted to talk with me, and I don't blame them, and when they weren't in the palace they were watching Erez train with Felix

Until one day, I hear a knock and then Lily's voice, "Your majesty" "come in" I say a little annoyed cause she interrupted my time with Diana, "what's wrong lily" "His highness anteros has a high fever, and in needs a surgeon immediately" she says with a frantic voice and I get up off the sofa

"Call for a surgeon immediately!" I say to lily, I start walking to their room and open the door with maids surrounding Anteros bed along with Athanasios, "Anteros!" I walk over to the bed and lean down next to him

He looks at me, "w...what are...you doing...here" his voice sounding weak, "I'm your father, I'm supposed to me be here and take care of you" I say and put my hand on his forehead, "w...well you don't..act like one..." I freeze, I remove my hand, "Hes burning! Where is the surgeon!"

Lily comes in with a surgeon, "Attend to him!" the surgeon nods and walks over to the bed, I look at Athanasios, "Do you know how your brother got sick?" "we were playing in the rain yesterday..." "Why would you!-" I freeze and sigh

I lean down towards him, "Ok...just, don't do that again...ok" I smile towards him, and he nods, "Are you feeling ok?" "yes" "ok"

After a bit, the surgeon leaves and I stay with Anteros and Athanasios, while the maids are outside, "how are you feeling anteros?" "Good, you can leave now" "I'm not gonna leave" "why not, you have her"

I look at him, "You can't hate diana forever anteros, she's gonna be your stepmom-" "So what, She'll never be my mom" I pause, "Do you think she replaced your mom" "clearly she did" "I didn't-" "he's right father" I look at Athanasios, "And how did I do that, I didn't forget her-" "That doesn't change the fact that you gave her all of your attention"

I look at him and anteros, "what do you mean-" "You only call us to have tea with you guys and half the time you don't even look at us, we don't go on walks anymore, you barely visit us, were the ones who have to visit you, you don't think about how we feel"

I pause and think about the last time it's just been the three of us since diana came in the picture, and I don't see a memory, "You completely discard us" Anteros says and I look at him, "No thats-" "You can deny it all you want, but you did, and thats why I hate you" I feel my heart clench and drop to my stomach

I see tears in his eyes, "and I hate that I still love you..." I feel tears come out of my eyes, "I'm sorry...to the both of you, I should have thought of your feelings first" I say and hug Anteros in bed with my knees in contact with the floor

I look at Athanasios, "You come here to" and he walks over to us,"I'm sorry to the both of you" "Do you want me to leave-" "No" I look at Athanasios, "Are you sure-" "yes" I look at anteros and he nods, "If she makes you happy, who are we to take her away from you?"

He says with her smile and I smile too, "ok then, every 3 days of the week, we have a day just for us" I say and they nod.
