It was currently 11am,Friday morning,
2 days after the party.
Lisa and Tionne were walking down the street to go to work.
They both worked at the same hair salon that was only down the street from both of their house's.
Lefteye was a receptionist and a cleaner at the hair salon and Tionne would cut and style hair.
"So,what was that about lastnight?"Ti asked her.
Lisa sighed "i just didn't have the energy to meet someone new and do it all over again".
"She really likes you Li and she is such a sweet girl".
"What if she's like the rest of Ti?"she stopped in her tracks and looked at her older cousin.
"But what if she isn't Lisa and you might miss a chance at a good thing"Tionne spoke sternly.
Lisa started walking,leaving Ti behind her.
"I just can't bring myself to trust someone again...my heart wants me to be happy but my head tells me that i will get hurt".
"I understand what you're saying but just give the girl a chance and lets get our ass's to work because we are 10 minutes late"Tionne looked down at her watch.
They knew fine well when,they got to work that they were going to get shouted at.
"Sorry we're late Miss kat"Lisa spoke as they walked into the salon.
"Ya'll ass's better be i need the storage room cleaning out since,muthafuckers around here got no clue how to put things back where they belong and Mrs.smith has been waiting to get her nasty weave replaced"He shouted at the pair.
Mrs smith pulled a face at Miss Kats comment
"Whats up her ass today?"Lisa muttered to kimberly.
"Her man left her for a younger white women"Kimberly said causing Lisa to pulle a face.
Miss kat was a drag queen who owned the salon and was well respected in town despite,the nasty attitude she had at times.
"We'll get right to it Miss Kat"Tionne said.
They both hung up their jackets and put on their aprons.
"Ya'll better"She sat down in her chair and lit up her cigarette.
"Lisa,can you hurry up in that shower"Tionne banged on the bathroom door "i want to go grab a hotdog from the burger stand".
"Chill out man"She turned off the shower and wrapped the towel around her body.
She opened the bathroom door and Tionne was stood there.
"Can yo little ass hurry up please"Tionne begged.
"Girl hush you about the same height as me"Lisa sassed as she walked to her room.
Lisa grabbed a black and yellow basketball set and put it on her bed.
"Hey Ti"She heard Mary J walk into the living room "where's Lisa at?".
"Her slow ass just got out of the shower and now she's getting changed".
Lisa put on her underwear then,her basketball set along with white socks and white AF1's.
She shot her hair up into a low bun before putting a black cap on.
She sprayed some perfume on herself then,walked out of her room.
"Ya'll ready to go?"She asked.
"Lisa,its hot as hell outside and you're wearing black...girl you crazy"Mary J shook her head.
"This is the only basketball set i got"She spoke high pitched.
"Anyways lets go cause a girl is hungry"Tionne got up off the couch.
Lisa grabbed her car keys off the coffee table before they all left to go to the courts.
"So,hows things going between you and nas?i saw ya'll at the party the other day"Mary asked Ti.
"We cool but we haven't put a label on what we are yet even though he said he wants to be my man"Tionne rolled her eyes in a sarcastic way "what about you and cliff?".
"We going good,he's a real gentlemen behind that thug persona he has...you seeing anyone lefteye?".
"Nope and its staying that way"She spoke lowly.
"Well,babygirl has a little thing for her but this bitch is too stubborn"Tionne said loud.
"Why,you gotta tell my business for?"Lisa dirty looked her through the rearview.
"You really should give her a chance Li...Aaliyah doesn't get around she's only ever had one man but he couldn't keep her"Mary J stated.
"Can ya'll stop giving me this pep talk please,its my choice whether i want to get with her or not"Lisa said annoyed.
"That hotdog was real good"Tionne moaned.
"That hot ass breath isn't"Lisa joked as the three sat on a bench.
Ti playfully hit her on the arm.
"Hey Mary"Cliff shouted from across the court where,he was playing basketball with some friends.
"One second ya'll imma go see my man"She stood up.
"Aight"They both said.
"Look"Tionne nudged Lisa and pointed to the car park "There's Aaliyah and her friends".
"So"Lisa looked at her.
"Go and apologise to her"She pushed Lisa out of her seat.
"Why?"Lisa scrunched her face up.
"Just go"She shooed her off.
Lisa slowly walked over to the car park where,Aaliyah and her friends were.
"Hi"Lisa said nervously.
Joy looked between Aaliyah and Lisa with a confused looked.
"Ya'll go ahead,i'll catch up in a minute"Aaliyah spoke.
"Whatever you say girl"Ananda said and walked off with the two girls.
"How come you've decided to speak to me?you're not feeling mute today?"Aaliyah crossed her arms and leaned back into the car.
Lisa rolled her eyes at her sarcasm.
"I just want to say that i'm sorry for the way i spoke to you the other night".
"You're apology isn't accepted"Aaliyah sassed.
"I guess that was a waste of time"Lisa spoke lowly as she turned around on her heels.
"I'm just playing"Aaliyah giggled causing her to turn back around.
Lisa giggled with her.
"I guess i'll see you around"Lefteye said with a little smile on her face.
"Would you like to hang out with me?"Aaliyah boldly asked.
Lisa felt her heart pounding inside of her chest.
She wanted to hang with her because she found Aaliyah breath takingly gorgeous but her head was saying don't do it don't do it.
"I'll take yo number"Lisa kindly rejected her offer.
Aaliyah grabbed a note out of her pocket and written her number down on the crumbled paper and then,she passed it to Lisa.
"I'll see you later"Lisa half smiled.
"Bye"Aaliyah smirked like she was happy with the accomplishment she finally achieved.
"Girlll,what went on?"Lisa could hear Joy cooing at Aaliyah as she walked away "I seen them smiles on both of yo faces".
"How did it go?Tionne asked her who was now sat with Mary J and Nas.
"Well..she asked me to hang out with her and i did want to say yes but a part of me said no so,i ended up with her number".
Tionne lightly hit her in her stomach "Bitch you should've said yes that girl is a model and they're schedule's are hella busy s-".
"For her to just make time for you shows that she's really feeling you so,don't make her look stupid"Mary J finished Tionne's sentence off.
"Wait a second"Nasir butted in "Are ya'll talking about babygirl?".
He moved from behind Tionne and sat between her and Mary to get more into the conversation.
"Yep we are"Tionne answered.
"Give the girl a damn chance lefteye because she gives no one else any time of day and i ain't just saying that like she's rejected so many of my boys so many times that they gave up and they're real players".
"Get out of here man"Lisa laughed at him.
"I'm being serious Li"He said with a serious face "but if you do end up deciding to give her a chance just know that Damon will try get in the way".
"Not like Aaliyah cares about his ass anyway"Tionne said.
Lisa glanced over at Aaliyah and she winked at her causing her to put her head down nervously.
"Imma have to think about it"Lisa said as she played with her hands.
"Don't do too much thinking Lisa because thats how you loose a girl"Nas said and Tionne looked at him.
"I'm just saying"Nas put his hands up.
Lisa really wanted to give her a chance but her trust issues were real bad and she didn't want to put herself back into a place where,she's open to get hurt.
Could she really trust her if she was open to give her a chance?
That was a question Lisa couldn't figure out because the more she knew someone the less she knew about them.
