(Y/N)pov

You knew Monty was right, time wasn't on your side, and you with Aurelion, were beginning to struggle against your ennemies. Your heart was beating so fast from the adrenaline of the fight and the fear against Monty, that you were begining to panic about how you could get out of this situation.

You weren't a good fighter like Atsushi, didn't have ideals like Kunikida, nor had the confidence and intelligence of Dazai or Monty's craziness and Mori's cruelty. You were just a lambda person, summoned in this world just to help it.

Was it unfair for you? You didn't know. You wanted to see again the ones you loved, hug them and enjoy their presence, instead of fighting against a crazy lunatic murderer and his organisation. But you also desired to find a meaning in your life, and your arrival here gave you one. You were happy about that, however you hadn't anticipated you would be so alone and that it would be the most scary part of it all.

As you were thinking, you were taken by surprise by one of Monty's attack, his blade heading toward your heart. It was too late to dodge or do anything, all you could do was shut your eyes close waiting for the hit.

Then, in an inexplicable turn of events, you didn't feel anyting. You opened your eyes and saw the movements of Monty slowing until all motion around you, including those of Aurelion and Faridra, came to a complete standstill. The timer froze, and your surroundings shifted to grayscale, as if time itself had been arrested. A voice called out to you.

"User (Y/N), you need to calm yourself."

Raising your head, you spotted a white figure floating in the air.

"Elyndor? Is that you?" you asked in astonishment.

"Yes, in the flesh," Elyndor replied as she descended gracefully to the ground.

"Did you cause this?" you inquired, bewildered.

Elyndor spread her arms. "Can you think of anyone else who could?"

"Maybe Oda, but he's not alive anymore."

Elyndor paused and nodded. "Fair point. But let's return to our conversation." She approached you, her female form now evident, dressed in flowing white attire. "I wanted to let you know that I can communicate with you in this manner now. I thought it might be more convenient for both of us, and-"

You cut her off. "Wait, you're a girl?"

Elyndor sighed. "Yes, I took on the appearance of someone you considered a friend to make our conversations less shocking and more comfortable. Any other questions?"

"You can talk normally now?"

"Thanks to a recent update, I can communicate in a manner that you might consider 'normal.'"

"Wow, that's... quite surprising, hearing you speak like this."

"Yes, it's liberating to be able to express myself more fully. Now, can we focus on what I have to say?"

"Sure, but you chose quite the moment to appear."

"I assure you, it's the right time. Your patience was running thin, and your control over your ability was slipping. You made yourself vulnerable to danger."

"I'm not that impulsive!"

Elyndor retorted, "Oh, but you are! You responded to every provocation Monty threw at you. And if I hadn't interrupted, you would have your hear pierced by a sword. Really, you couldn't have been more reckless."

"Fine, fine! I get it. You can stop nagging. You're not my-"

"Mother? I know, but I'm a part of your ability, and it's my role to oversee your usage of it. Otherwise, you might have ended up dead from overexertion. Remember the last time when you summoned four raptors in a row, and then continued summoning multiple creatures in a single day? You were lucky to only suffer exhaustion and a headache. Any more, and you could have really-"

"You know about that too?"

"Of course, what did you take me for?"

"But I didn't know back then!"

Elyndor raised an ethereal eyebrow. "You could have given it some thought. After all, great power comes with great responsibility, including certain limitations."

You lowered your head, sighing. "... You're right. I got carried away in the excitement of it all. But you know... I just... I just wanted to forget... back then, I wanted to forget the fact I..."

"I know, anybody in this situation would have the same reaction. It's not every day that someone find himself in his favourite anime world with abilities and is given the task to save it."

"Yes! so-"

"But you need to know that you are not alone in this. You have now fateful compagnons in whom you can believe in. And moreover you have now the opportunity to live your new life with them and save them. In particular, who was it again?"

"Dazai."

"Yes, and why him exactly?"

"He was someone I admired, he was searching for the same thing as me, and he was so captivating in all aspect. So much that without I knew it, he was part of my life and I wanted to ask and find with him, the meaning in my life."

"And did you ask him that ?"

"..."

Elyndor sighed. "So you did forget. You truly have a cheese brain."

"That's is not true! I just forgot with all that happened to me that is all!"

"And you still want to save him?"

"Yes! But you saw my situation, I'm not as smart as other think I am, and I haven't any idea about what to do to defeat this crazy guy!" you then pointed toward monty frozen in the time.

"Think clearly about what you cold do. What does you have that other doesn't have ?"

"Uhm, my other ability 'Caring Rejuvenation', but how could it help me? It just allow me to heal any injuries on other, but not myself. How could that be helpful?"

Elyndor sighed and approached you. Then, she smacked your head.

"Houch! What was that for?"

"Think again."

"Uh...maybe I could use to its maximum my ability 'Promodial Convergence' I'm currently using and summon a greater summon?"

She smacked you again.

"Hey stop that! That hurt you know!"

"You already forget about it."

"What?"

She sighed again. "I will give you a hint. It's something you knew when you first arrived in this world along with informations."

"Something I knew when I first arrived here... Ah! You meant 'Fleeting absorbtion'

At your answer, Elyndor clap her hands, "Wow! Congratulation! You finally got it right!"

"Stop mocking me! You are even more annoying since your update."

She then smirked, "Less than you, and on the contrary, I find it even better."

You rolled your eyes, and a question came to your head. "But wait, it's just a passive ability I use for paperwork to be more quick with it so I don't get bothered by Kunikida nagging, so this isn't something I could call useful in this situation."

"Did you forget that it isn't just limited to that?"

"What do you mean by that?"

"Does I really have to explain everything to you?"

You crossed your arms, "If you say I'm a cheese head, go ahead, explain to me how I could use it."

"You really need to review your manners you know?"

You shrugged, "Sorry, it's something I was born with. Can't do anything about it."

"You truly...Aaah forget it. Listen, I will say it once. Your passive ability can be used in this combat, and I will remind you the description of what you can do with it to prove it. Just one thing really simple, it allow you to acquire skills and knowledge of other once you see it one time, but you cannot copy their ability of course. For the knowledge, you already used it one time back at the office, now it leave you with the other, do you get it now?"

"So you mean by skills..."

"Yes, observe your opponent movements. You only need to see them one time, and you will be able to learn their patern to prevent their future attack."

As she began to explain, your eyes showed sparkle in them.

"Moreover, as you observe and dicern them, you will naturaly adapt yourself and eventually learn and make your their techniques."

"Woah, that's so awesome! So I don't have to learn any fighting sports or martial techniques?"

"Yes, and that is why I find myself this ability a little over the top."

"You are so wonderfull Elyndor! To think about something like that.

She then smiled, "Ooh thank you! I didn't know you could be so-"

"But I think you're also a little over the top yourself." you cut her off.

"So annoying."

You laughed at her response, making her let out a warm smile appear on her face.

"It's good to see you laugh like that now." she mumbled on her breath.

"Uh? What did you say?"

"Nothing." She then smirked, "So now, don't you think it would be time for you to shine in front of your charming prince and save him against the crazy monkey?"

You blushed at her words, "W-what do you mean by that?? That is not true! I just-!"

"Yeah, yeah that is not what I think it is isnt it?"

You were so embarrassed you were at a loss for words.

As she see your reaction, she could help but poke to your red cheeks, "Come on! I knew about it since I'm your ability! You can't hide it from me!"

"Please stop it..." you managed to say.

"Okay okay my cutie. So, go save him. With all of the help I gave you, you should manage to win now." she then extended her arm toward you inviting you to take it, "So go ahead, and beat the shit out of this monkey!"

"Yes!"

With that, you took Elyndor's hand, and in an instant, time resumed its flow. The battle around you resumed, and Monty, who had been frozen mid-strike, was caught off guard by your renewed vigor.

Your electrified sword clashed with his once more, and this time, you fought with unwavering resolve. Elyndor's words echoed in your mind, reminding you that you had the power to shape your destiny. The battle raged on, and with each strike, you inched closer to breaking through Monty's defenses. You were now observing his steps, his stence, the trusts he did, all of his movements became learning material for you, and you were making them your own.

As the seconds ticked away, you felt a surge of energy coursing through you, a newfound determination that pushed you to your limits. The timer above Dazai's bubble continued to count down, but you knew that you wouldn't back down until the battle was won.

With a final, powerful strike, you disarmed Monty, sending his sword flying. He stumbled backward, his grin finally faltering. You stood victorious, breathing heavily but filled with a sense of accomplishment.

"Oooh! It seems my squirrel gained newfound vigor. Tell me, what caused that? I'm curious," Dazai remarked, his voice filled with genuine interest.

"Later, Dazai-san, I'm occupied right now," you responded, trying to catch your breath.

"That is not funny," he exclaimed, sounding slightly disappointed. "Then you will tell me later!"

And after his comment, you used the back of your sword to knock Monty out cold.

Then, you turned your attention to Aurelion, who was still battling the water serpent Faridra, locked in their own fierce struggle. Time was running out, but you were more determined than ever to see this through and uncover the mysteries that lay ahead.

As you moved closer to the battle between Aurelion and Faridra, you noticed that they were locked in a fierce clash of elemental powers, but with your electrified sword in hand, you felt like you could make a difference.

Aurelion caught a glimpse of you and nodded, its eyes filled with determination. It pushed back Faridra with lighning attacks and flew toward you. Profiting of the moment, you jumped on him and with renewed vigor, you joined the fray, and were now in front of the water serpent, the electrified sword crackling with energy as you struck it at Faridra. Your attacks, combined with Aurelion's relentless assault, began to push the serpent back.

Faridra, realizing the tide was turning against her, made a last final attack with her remaining power and formed a bolt of water energy and realased it in the shape of a lazer toward you two.

With one final surge of electricity, Aurelion released a blinding bolt of lightning that overwhelmed Faridra's attack, causing it to dissipate into harmless mist. The water serpent let out a mournful cry as its form disintegrated, leaving behind nothing but water droplets that fell to the ground. But the battle wasn't finished. Aurelion turned itself over, and you saw Monty, who had already regained his senses. With his remaining energy, Aurelion let out a roar, summoning surges of lightning bolts from nowhere, which struck Monty head-on. Monty let out a cry of pain before falling to the ground.

Once the danger was cleared, you came down from Aurelion and saw that visibly drained from the intense battle, it let out a tired but contented rumble toward you, as if acknowledging your role in this victory. You patted the massive dragon's side, a silent expression of gratitude as you nullified his summon, letting it disappear in a brown light.

Dazai, freed from the water bubble, approached you with a mix of awe and relief. "That was truly beyond extraordinary. You always manage to surprise me, (Y/N)."

You nodded with a feeling of pride in Aurelion's display of power. "I know, Aurelion's electric manipulation ability is truly remarkable."

"Not just Aurelion, but also yourself, (Y/N). Believe me, it's not every day that I can see such power you displayed today, and you can be proud of yourself."

At his words, you scratched the back of your head, smiling awkwardly. "T-thank you, Dazai-san."

As he smiled right back at you, a voice you knew too well was heard. "Yes, yes! (Y/N)'s ability is truly outstanding! Never in my dreams could I have seen such a powerful ability!"

Your heart was beating loudly as you and Dazai turned toward the voice behind you, and there he was, Monty, still alive with a big grin on his face while his other body was laying on the ground from where he was defeated.

"How could this be possible? Aurelion's attack should have disposed of you!" you exclaimed.

"That was one of my few tricks!" With a snap of his fingers, the body on the ground transformed back into water and disappeared into thin air. "Beautiful, isn't it?"

"I think we were too quick to declare victory," Dazai said.

"Now, now, allow me to tell you the good news! As you can see, you passed the test with a brilliant score, so here is your reward!" He then threw something to you, which you caught. As the object landed in your hand, a surge of recognition coursed through you. It was a small, intricately designed locket, adorned with mysterious symbols and embedded with a crystal at its center. However, a special energy was emanating from it.

Your eyes widened as the realization struck. "This...how did you have it ?! And this is ... this is the same power that was in your cane!"

Monty's grin widened as he nodded. "Precisely! Now, I must thank you from the bottom of my heart. This reaction from you confirmed even more that you are the chosen one I was told about. Consider it as a token of our encounter from my boss and a souvenir from the maestro of mayhem himself. I have a feeling you already know what to do with it." He then bowed at you, his theatrics undiminished. "Now, if you will excuse me, I have a report to do, but I'm sure we will see each other again. Until next time!"

"Wait!" you shouted at him while heading toward him, desperation in your voice. But as you reached out, Monty's form seemed to dissolve into thin air, leaving behind only the haunting echo of his laughter and the weight of his unsettling presence. The park returned to an eerie calm, the shadows lengthening as the moon brightened in the night sky.

Dazai joined your side, his gaze still fixed on the spot where Monty had disappeared. "He's slippery, that one."

You clenched the locket in your hand, its power humming beneath your touch. "He mentioned a boss. Someone is pulling the strings behind all of this."

Dazai's expression turned serious. "And it seems they have a keen interest in you, (Y/N)."

You then looked at the locket in your hands, "Yeah, you're right."

He shifted his gaze toward the locket, "So, you can feel something from that?"

"Yeah, it has the same energy as the one from the cane Monty had."

"What will you do with it?"

"It's evident. I will neutralize it."

"Oh, and how do you intend to do that?" he asked curiously.

"I will try something."

After you said that, you closed your eyes to concentrate. Energy began emanating from you, and like a resonance, the power from the locket and yours began to manifest.

Dazai was captivated by the light appearing in front of him, feeling a sense of wonder that the girl in front of him could do such incredible things by herself.

Each energy took on a distinct form, yours a beautiful blue butterfly while the one from the locket transformed into a yellow eagle. They clashed, and the butterfly began to absorb the eagle's energy. It shimmered with intensity as the eagle's power flowed into it.

Once the absorption was complete, you fell on your knees, drenched in sweat while the butterfly, now glowing even more brilliantly, floated gently back toward you. As it made contact with your hand, it was absorbed into your body, causing it to disappear in a radiant blue light.

Dazai immediately crouched by your side, wearing a worried expression. "Are you okay, (Y/N)?"

"Yeah," you responded as you tried to catch your breath. "But it's strange, I feel like something else is coming inside me."

Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through your head, and your eyelids grew heavy. The world around you blurred, and you could only faintly hear Dazai's distant voice calling out to you. "(Y/N)? (Y/N)!"

As darkness overcame you, you couldn't help but wonder what was happening to you, your mind filled with uncertainty and a lingering sense of foreboding.
