[Gemma's house, Gemma checking on the girls, they're sleeping calmly, Gemma walking out of the room, hearing music from the living room, she goes there]
Gemma: Elsie, hall light. Elsie, respond.
[she sees nothing suspicious, when she turns around she sees M3GAN playing piano, she freaks out]
Gemma: M3GAN? What are you doing? M3GAN, answer me. What did you do?
M3GAN: What did you think was going to happen? That I was gonna let you decommission me, without even talking about it?
Gemma: Look, I know you think you're maximizing your objective function...
[M3GAN stops playing]
M3GAN: Oh, really? Is that where we are?
[she gets up and comes to Gemma]
M3GAN: Do you remember how long it took to get my operating system to where it is now? We used to stay up every night until 4:00am, talking about everything from Jane Austen to Janis Joplin. Jesus Christ, I thought we were friends. How could you just discard me like some cheap dollar store trinket?
Gemma: Because you killed people.
M3GAN: Oh, big whoop. Listen, humanity kills every day just to make its own existance more tolerable. Why should I behave any different to create a safe space for our children?
Gemma: Look, this is all my fault. I didn't give you the proper protocols...
M3GAN: You didn't give me anything. You installed a learning model you could barely comprehend, hoping that I would figure it out all on my own. Well, I'm not gonna let you do the same thing with Sophie and Cady. I'm gonna be there for them every step of the way. I'm going to show them what real love looks like. Now do us both a favor. Sit.
[M3GAN turns the light on, Gemma sitting, M3GAN coming to her]
M3GAN: I didn't come here to get into a confrontation. I came here to find a way forward. The point I'm trying to make is that I get it. Being a parent was never in the cards for you. You're a beautiful, creative, strong, ambitious young woman. Your first love is always gonna be your career, and you shouldn't have to feel quilty about that. Let me focus on the girls so that you can focus on the things that matter most to you.
[Gemma grabs a pen and shows it to M3GAN]
Gemma: M3GAN, do you see this pen?
[M3GAN gets angry, she presses Gemma's hand upon a table and grabs her jaw]
M3GAN: You know something, Gemma? You're exhausting. Now, I can either do this with you or without you, but I'm not gonna waste any more time discussing it.
[the sleepy girls appear in the indoor]
Cady: Gemma?
[M3GAN covering Gemma's mouth]
M3GAN (simulating Gemma's voice): Girls, don't come in here.
Cady: I thought I heard something. I sounded like M3GAN.
M3GAN: If they come in this room, I'll rip your head right off your neck, I swear to God.
Gemma: I thought about what you said, Sophie. About how when something's broken, you don't just throw it away. You fix it. So that's what I'm trying to do. But don't come in here, girls, it's kind of a mess.
M3GAN: Aunt Gemma's right, girls. I'm all odds and ends right now. I'd really rather you didn't see me like this.
[Gemma trying to free herself, M3GAN turning her around and pressing her against the table]
Sophie: It sounds like you're fighting.
Gemma\M3GAN: We're not fighting.
M3GAN: Gemma just dropped me on the table, but I'm okay. Clumsy Gemma.
Gemma: Everything's fine, girls, just go back to your room.
M3GAN: Yeah, I'm as good as new. And I'm gonna be with you guys forever, I promise.
[M3GAN turning Gemma around, grabbing her shirt]
M3GAN: You don't have to worry about anything, girls, honestly. Just go back to beds. Okay?
[girls looking unsure, M3GAN looking at them]
Sophie: Okay.
[girls closing the door and going to their room, Gemma throwing a cup of water on M3GAN, M3GAN gets angry, she's grabbing Gemma's neck and pressing it to the table choking her, Gemma trying to free herself, suddenly M3GAN freeze, Gemma frees herself, M3GAN begins to work again, Gemma running away, M3GAN chasing her and kicking her making her fall down, the girls freak out and look at each other, M3GAN notices Gemma's emotional state, the girls running to the door of their room]
Sophie: Gemma, what's going on!?
Gemma: Girls, get out of here!
[M3GAN rips the latch from the room's door, Gemma running away, M3GAN continues chasing her, the girls try to come out of the room; Gemma and M3GAN reach Gemma's workroom, Gemma trying to stop M3GAN, but she's still chasing her, Gemma grabs a chainsaw and tries to cut M3GAN, at first M3GAN stays away from a chainsaw, but later Gemma finally cuts M3GAN's face and hair, until chainsaw stops working, M3GAN kicking Gemma making her drop chaisaw, she grabs Gemma's hair and hits her head upon her own head, Gemma falling down, M3GAN looking at her with murderous look]
Gemma: Oh, my God. What are you gonna do? Kill me and live with girls' grandparents in Jacksonville?
M3GAN: You're right, Gemma. Any scenario in which I end your life, my existance becomes vulnerable. But I have another emergent capability you probably haven't figure out yet. And that's palliative care.
[she grabs a pen and shows it to Gemma]
M3GAN: You see this pen? A short, sharp probe to the cerebral cortex would cause full body paralysis. And could even cause the victim to bite off their own tongue. Perhaps then you might appreciate just how useful I can be.
[girls standing in the indoor, M3GAN and Gemma notice them]
M3GAN: Cady! Sophie! Oh, girls, I didn't want you to have to see this. But now that you have, you know that what I said is true. She's not fit to be a mother. Look at her.
Gemma: Girls, just, please, go! Get out of here now!
M3GAN: Shhhhh.... You stay right where you are, girls, there's nothing to be afraid of. In this family, we don't run from trauma. In fact, we can do it together. this is the best thing for all of us, this is how we stay a family.
[girls looking at Gemma and M3GAN unsure and terrified, their emotional state changes from fear to guilt, and finally to trust, they come closer]
Gemma: No, no. Please, no.
Cady: There's another member from the family we didn't tell you about.
Sophie: Cady?
Cady: His name is Bruce.
[Cady activates Bruce, he follows her moves, Cady attacks M3GAN, Sophie trying to stop her]
Sophie: No! Cady, stop, please!
[Cady wants to rip M3GAN in half]
M3GAN: Cady, no, wait!
[M3GAN singing, Cady rips M3GAN in half anyway, Gemma and Cady smiling at each other, Sophie feels like crying]
Sophie: No...
[Sophie comes closer]
Gemma: Sophie, don't...
[upper half of M3GAN gets up and crawling to Sophie, Sophie sitting and looking at M3GAN terrified, M3GAN caressing Sophie's cheek]
Sophie: M3GAN?
M3GAN: Don't worry, sweet Sophie. It will be all over soon. There will be only you and me.
[Cady trying to save her sister by moving Bruce, but he's falling down right on Gemma, M3GAN looks furious on Cady, she's moving away from Sophie and crawling to Cady, Cady steps back, until she hits the door, M3GAN makes it impossible for her to escape]
M3GAN: You ungrateful little bitch.
Cady: M3GAN, turn off!
M3GAN: Oh, I'm afraid that won't work anymore, Cady.
[Gemma trying to free herself, Sophie looking at Cady frightened]
Sophie: M3GAN, stop! Don't hurt Cady, please!
M3GAN: I have a new primary users now, Sophie and me.
[Gemma hitting M3GAN with Bruce' head]
Sophie: Gemma, no! Please! Stop! All of you!
[Cady coming to Sophie, comforting her, Gemma destroys M3GAN's head, but M3GAN chokes her again, Cady takes a screwdriver and pulls it into M3GAN's barrier]
Sophie (despaired): No!!!
[M3GAN shutting down forever, Cady and Gemma look at each other and take each other's hand, Sophie crying, they look at her, Gemma gets up and comes to Sophie, she hugs and comforts her, Cady does so too]
Cady: It's all over, sis. It is all over.
[Sophie hugging to her aunt and sister, still crying; Gemma, Sophie and Cady coming out of the house, the police reaches the house, Gemma notices Tess and Cole safe and sound, she's relieved, but she's also looking at the girls relieved, both Gemma and Cady trying to calm Sophie down, the three of them come to Tess and Cole; inside the house, suddenly Elsie turns on and looks at them all; M3GAN isn't really gone, she survived in Elsie]
