Only minutes after Sydney Stilinski entered her own house- Liam trailing behind her as if he were unsure whether he was welcomed in the Stilinski home or not- Stiles tugged the two freshmen out the front door once more. Scott followed closely behind them as her brother rushed them to his Jeep. Sydney could sense the panic that was radiating from the two juniors, and this only made her worry.

"Stiles." She tugged at the sleeve of her brother's shirt, her eyebrows pulled together as she bit the inside of her cheek. "What's wrong?"

"Just get in the car, Syd," Stiles stated, not bothering to look at the younger girl. "We'll explain on the way."

Sydney glanced over at Liam, who only shrugged helplessly as he opened the passenger door for her. Shooting him a small smile, she climbed into the back seat of her brother's Jeep. Liam climbed in next to her, his hand casually slipping into hers as he settled into cramped back seat.

"Tonight's not the full moon, is it?" His troubled voice spoke into her ear as Stiles pulled out of the driveway, the Jeep shaking and rattling as he pressed on the gas and zoomed down their road.

Sydney shook her head, glancing at the boy beside her with furrowed eyebrows, "The full moon's not for another week or so. Why?"

"I'm just making sure they don't have any plans on kidnapping us or anything," Liam said with a shrug. He then raised his voice a bit, addressing the two boys in the front seat. "You're not taking us to another boathouse and tying us up, are you?"

Stiles and Scott exchanged a look that only the two of them could wear before the eldest Stilinski glanced at Liam through the rear-view mirror, "I don't have a problem taking you somewhere and tying you up- preferably to a 100 pound weight, before we throw you in a river. But Sydney- her we need."

Sydney's lips parted, ready to ask her brother where exactly they were going, but Liam spoke before she had a chance, causing her hazel eyes to roll in their sockets.

"Hey, Stiles. Just remember that I now have superhuman strength, along with fangs and claws, before you try and throw me in a river," he retorted, his eyebrow cocked threateningly. A quiet, barley audible groan fell from Sydney's and Scott's mouths, almost simultaneously, as Stiles glanced over at his best friend.

"Seriously, what is the point of him? Why'd we have to bring him along? Couldn't we have just kicked his little werewolf ass out onto the street and just take Sydney?"

Liam opened his mouth to shoot back a sharp comment, though Sydney quickly cut him off by placing a hand over his mouth. He raised his eyebrows, his eyes shining cheekily as she felt his lips pucker, pressing against her hand before twisting into a grin. She rolled her eyes, though unable to hide the small smile that stretched across her lips as she turned to her brother.

"Seriously, though, where the hell are we going?"

Scott turned around in his seat to look at her, his brown eyes shining with evident panic, "Derek's loosing his powers, Sydney," he answered slowly, causing her eyes to widen. "He has an infected bullet wound, and he needs a healer."

As Sydney stepped foot inside Derek's loft after Scott, Stiles and Braeden, her nerves immediately frayed. Liam stood close beside her, his thumb rubbing circles in the pad of her hand in attempt to calm her down. Though she was thankful for this gesture of kindness, she just couldn't find herself to calm down.

Since she was turned, Derek was a sort of mentor towards the young girl, and over time, he had grown to be almost like an older, more sane brother. The thought of Derek Hale, the young, though strong werewolf that taught her everything there is to know of their kind, loosing his powers, it honestly scared her. Though, despite the panic that was eating away at her insides, Sydney forced herself to remain calm. She focused on the feeling of Liam's thumb rubbing against her hand, the soothing scent of his aftershave, and swallowed down the panic as she approached Derek Hale. She could smell the infection coming from the irritated bullet graze on his shirtless torso, causing her nose to twitch uncontrollably.

"What happened?" Sydney questioned softly, running her finger over the wound and causing Derek to flinch.

"I was shot," he said flatly, staring up at the girl as she furrowed her eyebrows. His tone was harsh, though she took no notice of it. That was how the pair always spoke to each other, as Derek's uncle Peter claimed "harshness makes you strong". She could see the faint shimmer of humor in Derek's green eyes, which simply told her that he couldn't be hurt too bad. Sydney was one of the very few people who got to see Derek's soft side, and she found herself lucky because of it. Not many people got to witness a Derek hug, nor hear the loud, genuine laugh that fell from his lips if he found something funny enough. The young man was almost like a second father to her, and she was thankful for it.

Sydney was snapped back into reality as Braeden spoke. The girl was hired by Derek and Peter to find Kate Argent, and Sydney couldn't help but notice that she and Derek had been getting quite close lately.

"Will you be able to help him?" She questioned, her voice quavering slightly as she stared down at Derek's infected wound.

"Of course." Though she was so young, Sydney spoke with a strong, mature voice, looking Braeden straight in the eye as she did so. She turned to Derek, raising an eyebrow at the injured man. "Are you ready?"

Derek stayed silent and, taking this as permission to continue, Sydney placed her hand over the bullet wound in his side. She closed her eyes, sucking in a deep breath as she began to feel the energy slowly being sucked out of her. She could feel the wound already beginning to heal over under her touch, and Derek was slowly beginning to relax. Sydney hesitantly removed her hand, her eyes fluttering open and staring down at the new patch of skin that had replaced the nasty-looking wound.

"How did you do that?" Liam asked from beside her, his voice raised slightly in disbelief. Sydney turned to look at him, a grin spreading across her lips and her heart swelling at the admiration that was evident on his face.

"A group of hunters in Mexico known as the Calaveras call me lobo sanador. The Healer Wolf," she explained as she crossed her arms over her chest. "It was a power I was given whenever I was turned. That's why I am known as the healer of the pack."

An impressed grin spread across Liam's lips as he stared at the girl beside him, "I think it's brilliant."

Later that night, Sydney was sitting in her room, working on the homework that they were assigned in Biology. She had given up several times already, slamming her book shut with a huff, only to open it back up moments later because she didn't want to fail. Biology was always one of her favorites classes, but it was hard to enjoy it when the teacher was a complete asshole who barely taught anything.

For the fourth time in about an hour time period, Sydney slammed her book shut- only this time it was because of the knock on her door, startling her. A moment later, Stiles was standing in her doorway, his face pulled into a look that told her something was bothering her older brother.

There actually was something that was bothering Stiles Stilinski- something that he couldn't get off his mind since the night before, when he learned about Sydney sneaking out her window to go see Scott at the animal clinic when Liam was found. No matter how many times he told himself that Sydney was no longer a little girl, he just couldn't find himself to be prepared for this whole younger sister dating thing. He was used to her crying on his shoulder because of scraped knees, not boys, and he wasn't ready for that to change.

"Are you alright?" His baby sister's concerned voice brought him out of his thoughts. She was sitting cross-legged on her bed, her head cocked to the side with her hazel eyes staring up at him innocently, a Biology textbook in her lap. Stiles took a seat next to the girl, placing a hand on her knee in preparation to giving brotherly advice- something that he had little to no experience in.

"I need to talk to you about something."

Once again, Sydney blinked at him, "What is it?" She questioned slowly.

Stiles pursed his lips, thinking of the right place to begin. "Scott told me about the way you were acting around Liam last night, and I know that you kissed him. I was watching through the curtains."

"You were watching us?" Sydney cocked an eyebrow, a small smile growing at the corners of her mouth.

"Yes, but that's not the point. After a lot of thinking- and I mean a lot. It's been the only thing on my mind since last night. Anyways, I've come to a decision." Stiles licked his lips and squeezed his sister's knee gently, smiling slightly. "I'm not gonna stop you from being with Liam, like I had originally planned. It's obvious that Scott's gonna win this bet and-"

"Bet?" Sydney repeated, her light eyes widening as she pushed a strand of hair behind her ear. "What bet?"

"Scott and I may or may not have made a bet that you and Liam would be together by the end of the school year. But forget about that, okay? I'm trying to be sincere here!" Stiles tossed his arms in the air rapidly before running a hand through his untamed hair. "It's obvious that you have very strong feelings for Liam, and that he feels the same way. So I'm not going to be the cock-block of a brother and get between the two of you. But just promise me one thing."

"What is it?" Sydney questioned, raising an eyebrow.

"If he hurts you- even if it's just one tiny little thing- you come straight to Big Brother Stilinski." Stiles wrapped his arms around his little sister's small frame, pulling her to his chest and squeezing her tightly. "Because, werewolf or not, if he hurts my baby sister, I will not hesitate to beat his scrawny ass, alright?"

Sydney laughed lightly, wrapping her arms around her brother, her soft voice muffled by the fabric of his t-shirt,"I promise, Stiles."

// AW I LOVE STILES SM. I always imagined Stiles to be the very overprotective big brother, and I really wanted to put a little bonding moment between him and Sydney in there :3

Anyways, I wanted to kinda explain Sydney's powers a bit more in depth. Yes, I am aware that werewolves are capable of healing, but I always felt as if they would go through a sort of painful healing process, because like, there always has to be a downfall about something. And other supernatural creatures like Banshees are unable to heal at all. So Sydney's power allows her to heal any being, supernatural or not, painlessly. I just thought it was a cool idea to add- just to make her a wee bit special ;)

But, that's not the only power she has, as you guys will find out later on in the story :D \\
