(Y/N) pov

"By the way, (Y/N), have you sorted out your accommodations? Finding a place to stay in Yokohama can be quite the task, especially for someone who's not from around here."

As Dazai asked this question, you were a little caught of guard by this suddent question. "Huh ?"

Seeing your reaction, his lips curled into a mischievous half-smile, his gaze meeting yours with an air of calculated amusement. ""But fear not," he continued, his tone casual yet laden with an unspoken proposal. "If you're in need of a place to rest your head, I happen to have an apartment not too far from here. It's spacious and comfortable, and the view is quite splendid."

Atsushi's eyebrows shot up in mild surprise, and he looked between you and Dazai. "Dazai-san, are you sure about this?"

Dazai's grin widened, his eyes dancing with a playful glint. "Of course, Atsushi-kun. It's the least I can do for our new guest, especially one with such intriguing abilities and stories to tell."

You glanced between Dazai and Atsushi, feeling a mixture of surprise and uncertainty. Dazai's offer was unexpected, and you couldn't help but wonder about his true intentions. However, his playful demeanor and the genuine kindness in Atsushi's eyes reassured you to some extent.

"Really, Dazai-san?" you asked, your voice laced with a hint of skepticism. "It's a generous offer, but I'm not sure if it's appropriate. I mean, we just met, and I don't want to impose."

Dazai's smile remained intact, his expression innocent. "Ah, (Y/N)-chan, you don't need worry about imposing. Think of it as a friendly gesture from one investigator to another. Besides, it's not every day that we come across someone with your unique talents and circumstances."

Atsushi seemed to be processing the situation, his concern for your well-being evident in his furrowed brows. "Well, Dazai-san, (Y/N)-san does have a point. It's quite the offer, and we should respect her decision."

Dazai leaned back in his chair, his gaze never leaving you. "Of course, Atsushi-kun. I value (Y/N)-chan's opinion. It was merely a suggestion, after all."

Your heart warmed at Dazai's words, appreciating his understanding of your concerns. His proposition, though cloaked in his signature charm, held a sincerity that touched you.

With a thoughtful look, you turned your attention back to Dazai. "I truly appreciate the offer, Dazai-san. But before I make a decision, I'd like to know more about the agency and what it entails."

Dazai's smile took on a more contemplative edge as he leaned forward, his fingers steepled beneath his chin.

"Of course, (Y/N). To respond to your question, the Armed Detective Agency is a rather unique organization. We handle cases that often involve supernatural elements caused by the abilities of other users, and mysteries that go beyond the ordinary scope of investigation. Our abilities, much like yours, play a significant role in unraveling these cases."

Atsushi nodded, his voice earnest. "That's right. We strive to maintain peace and balance in Yokohama, and our combined talents allow us to tackle challenges that others can't."

Dazai's gaze never wavered from yours, his words carrying a hint of intrigue. "Your involvement could greatly enhance our capabilities, (Y/N). Your unique abilities could provide new perspectives and solutions to the cases we take on."

The idea was intriguing, and you found yourself drawn to the possibility of using your powers to make a difference in this world. However, a hint of doubt lingered in your mind. "But what about my mission? Elyndor mentioned that I have a task to fulfill if I want to survive and save you all, I know I accepted to join you but I'm not sure how joining the agency would align with that."

Dazai's smile softened, his eyes reflecting a depth of understanding. "Ah, the mission you mentioned earlier. It's true that you have your own path to follow. However, that doesn't mean the two cannot coexist. The agency's work often involves dealing with case that not ordinary people could do, and by helping us, you might find more easily links about those objects you mentionned, that could lead you closer to your own mission."

Dazai's words resonated with you. To be part of the organization you adored, that aligned with your mission while also offering a supportive community was a prospect you hadn't dared to hope for.

With a determined smile, you met Dazai's gaze. "Thank you for your honesty. I believe I'd like to give it a try, to see if I can contribute while also pursuing my own objectives."

Dazai's grin returned, a mix of satisfaction and genuine warmth. "That's the spirit, (Y/N)-chan! So, what do you say? Are you comfortable with the idea of staying at my apartment?"

You met his gaze, a smile playing at the corners of your lips. "Well, Dazai-san, I must admit, the idea of a comfortable place to stay sounds appealing compared to an appartment I could only afford for one night."

Dazai's eyes sparkled with mischief as he leaned in slightly. "Excellent! I promise I'll be the perfect host, and I'm sure Looki will make sure you feel right at home."

Looki, who had been busy investigating a crumb on the table, perked up at the mention of his name. He gave an enthusiastic bark, as if to confirm his commitment to the role of a welcoming committee.

Atsushi's concern for Dazai's intentions was evident in his gaze, but he chose to remain quiet, letting a sight as he was observing the interaction between you and Dazai.

You laughed a little, feeling a sense of warmth and camaraderie growing with each passing moment. "Thank you both, really. I'm grateful for your hospitality."

Dazai winked at you, a playful glint in his eyes. "It's our pleasure, (Y/N)-chan. And who knows, maybe you'll discover that life with the Armed Detective Agency is full of surprises."

As you were in conversation with Dazai and Atsushi, the sun began its gradual descent, casting a warm and golden hue over the surroundings. The cafe's atmosphere shifted with the changing light, from the vibrant energy of midday to the more subdued tones of early evening.

However, amidst the engaging discussion and the mesmerizing sunset, your stomach let out an audible growl, betraying your hunger and despite your best efforts to conceal it, your stomach chose to voice its demands once more. Dazai's playful gaze flickered to you, an amused smile dancing on his lips. "It sounds like someone's hungry."

You laughed softly, a touch of embarrassment coloring your cheeks. "It seems my stomach has decided to join the conversation."

Dazai's grin widened. "Well, (Y/N)-chan, the evening approaches, and we skipped lunch during our chase earlier. How about we satisfy our hunger and continue our discussion at a more satiated pace?"

You glanced at Dazai, a mixture of hunger and appreciation in your gaze. The idea of spending the night in Dazai's place still held a touch of uncertainty, but his offer felt genuine and inviting. You nodded, your smile returning. "Thank you, Dazai-san. I'm ready whenever you are."

Dazai's grin returned, a mix of satisfaction and genuine warmth. "Perfect. Then let's head to my place, I will make sure you have a pleasant stay."

With your agreement, Dazai signaled the waiter and settled the bill. As you all stood up and left the cafe, the evening air embraced you, carrying the gentle breeze of the approaching night. The walk to Dazai's apartment was filled with easy conversation, a mix of curiosity about your abilities and lighthearted banter that seemed to come naturally in the company of the two detectives.

Upon reaching his apartment building, you stopped a moment, recognizing it immediatly. It was as you had seen it in the anime. The very building that house the members of the armed detective agency.

[imagine this picture when it's night :)]

"(Y/N)?" Dazai asked, coming to a stop and turning to you.

"Oh, it's nothing," you responded, a faint smile on your lips. "So, this is where you reside?"

"Yes," he replied, his eyes flickering with a hint of intrigue. "And you'll find the apartments of the other agency members there as well."

Curiosity got the better of you, and you asked, "So, why couldn't I go with Atsushi's apartment?"

Atsushi chimed in, his voice gentle. "Well, I already have a roommate named Kyouka, and our apartments are designed for two people."

"I see," you nodded, understanding the situation a bit better.

Dazai's expression brightened with a mischievous glint. "That's why you'll be joining me. After all, I'm the only one without a roommate."

You couldn't help but chuckle at his playful tone. "Ah, I see the logic now."

As you started walking again, Dazai led the way, his strides confident and his demeanor relaxed. You climbed the stairs and passed by an apartment where Atsushi stopped in front and looked at you.

"So, (Y/N), I wish you a good night, and Dazai-san, don't let your antics get the best of her!"

He then entered his apartment and closed the door after waving at you with a smile, and casting a slightly more serious look at Dazai.

"Antics?" you asked, looking at Dazai with a raised eyebrow.

Dazai's grin widened, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "Oh, just a little reputation I've acquired over the years. Nothing to be concerned about, I assure you."

You couldn't help but chuckle at his nonchalant response. "I'll keep that in mind."

As you reached the door to Dazai's apartment, he held it open with a flourish, gesturing for you to enter. "Welcome to my home, (Y/N)."

The interior of the apartment matched Dazai's enigmatic personality-eclectic and full of character. The living area was adorned with an assortment of intriguing trinkets, and the large windows showcased a captivating view of Yokohama's cityscape illuminated by the city lights.

"It's quite cozy," you remarked, taking in the inviting atmosphere.

Jumper leaped from your shoulder and went wandering around the apartment with Looki as Dazai strolled further into the apartment, his hands waving in a welcoming gesture. "Make yourself at home. You can relax here and take your time settling in. You can also use the chamber beside mine," he said, pointing towards two doors. "And for the bathroom, it's right over there," he added, indicating a door with a finger.

"Thank you, oh and actually, before we eat, I wouldn't you mind if I take a shower?"

"Of course, go ahead," Dazai responded with a reassuring smile.

As you started to head towards the bathroom, Dazai's voice halted you. "Ah, and before you freshen up, tell me, what would you like to eat? I might not be a gourmet chef, but I can whip up a decent meal."

You smiled appreciatively, touched by his hospitality. "If it's not too much trouble, I wouldn't mind having a meal of your choice, so, surprise me."

Dazai's eyes gleamed mischievously. "You're in luck, (Y/N)-chan. I may not be a gourmet chef, but I do have some decent cooking skills. How does a simple curry sound?"

Your mouth practically watered at the mention of food. "That sounds absolutely perfect for me."

Dazai stood up, stretching theatrically. "Great! Leave it to me then. Make yourself comfortable, and I'll whip up a delicious masterpiece in no time."

As he headed to the kitchen, you settled into the cozy ambiance of the apartment, feeling a sense of relaxation wash over you.

After you took a shower, and stepped outside, you stopped a moment. 'Wait. I don't have pyjamas or a change of clothes with me...', you sighed, 'what should I do now..'

Gathering your courage, you open the bathroom door, peeking your head out, and called towards Dazai who was busy cooking in the kitchen just across. "Um, Dazai-san?"

He turned towards you, his attention piqued. "Mmm?"

"By any chance, do you happen to have any spare clothes or pajamas I could borrow?" you asked, a faint blush dusting your cheeks.

Dazai's eyes twinkled with amusement as he leaned against the kitchen counter, a playful grin tugging at his lips. "Well, well, (Y/N)-chan, this is quite an unexpected request."

Your cheeks grew warmer under his gaze, but you held your ground, determined not to let embarrassment get the best of you. "I didn't exactly come prepared for any overnight stay in this world," you admitted.

He chuckled softly. "No worries. I do have some spare clothes that might fit you. Let me grab them for you."

You retreated back into the bathroom, a little embarassed about what is happening. As you towel-dried your hair, your thoughts couldn't help but drift to the whirlwind of events that had brought you here. Meeting Dazai, joining the Armed Detective Agency, and now standing in his apartment-it all felt like an unexpected dream come true.

A light knock on the bathroom door interrupted your reverie. "I hope you don't mind something casual," Dazai's voice sounded through the door.

You quickly wrap a towel around yourself, and open the door to find Dazai holding a set of comfortable pajamas. "Thank you, Dazai-san," you said appreciatively, taking the clothes from him.

He responded, his grin still in place. "It's my pleasure, (Y/N). Feel free to take your time changing. Dinner will be ready soon."

As he left, closing the door behind him, you changed into the pajamas he had provided. There was just a little problem, it was a little big for you. The sleeves hung past your wrists, and you had to roll up the pants a couple of times to keep from tripping. Chuckling softly at the sight of yourself in the oversized attire, you couldn't help but wonder if Dazai had purposely chosen something so large or that he was simply tall and didn't think the pajamas could be too big for you.

After you finished preparing yourself, you made your way back to the living area, where you noticed Jumper and Looki, eating happily at a corner of the room, along with an enticing aroma of curry that greeted you. Dazai had set up a cozy dining area on the low table, complete with cushions to sit on. The spread was simple but inviting, the warm golden hue of the curry contrasting with the soft lighting of the apartment.

Dazai looked up from where he was serving the curry into bowls, a twinkle of amusement in his eyes as he took in your appearance. "I see the pajamas might be a tad roomy. My apologies, (Y/N)-chan. I might have overestimated the sizing."

You chuckled, taking a seat across from him. "It's quite all right, Dazai-san. If anything, they're quite comfortable."

Dazai handed you a bowl of curry, a playful smile on his lips.

As you settled into your seat, you couldn't help but appreciate the simple yet comforting atmosphere. It was a far cry from the chaos and uncertainty you had faced before arriving in this world.

As you took your first bite, you couldn't help but let out a satisfied hum. The flavors were rich and comforting, reminiscent of a home-cooked meal. Dazai glanced at you, his eyes sparkling with curiosity.

"So ? How is it?" he asked happily.

You smiled, savoring the taste. "It's delicious, Dazai-san. You may not be a gourmet chef, but you certainly know your way around the kitchen."

Dazai's grin widened, a mix of pride and amusement evident on his face. "Well, I do have my hidden talents."

As the two of you continued to enjoy the meal, the conversation flowed effortlessly. Dazai's stories and anecdotes kept you entertained, and his ability to find humor even in the most mundane situations was contagious. It was as if time had become irrelevant, and for a moment, you forgot about your mission and the world you had left behind, making you more relaxed.

After dinner, as you both where cleaning the table, Jumper and Looki went in your chamber to sleep. Then, Dazai turned to you with a thoughtful expression. "You know, (Y/N), despite the circumstances that brought you here, I'm glad you decided to join us."

His words warmed your heart, and you smiled sincerely at him. "I'm glad too, Dazai-san. It's was quite an unexpected journey, but I think it's turning out to be quite an adventure."

As the two of you finished tidying up after the meal, Dazai excused himself to take a shower, enveloping the room in a comforting silence. You settled on a cushion beside the low table once more, a cup of hot chocolate in your hands, gazing out at the city lights that cast their soft glow upon the walls. In this tranquil moment, your thoughts turned introspective, revisiting memories of your family and friends.

"I hope they're all doing well," you murmured, a wistful smile playing on your lips as you thought of those dear to you.

However, as your thoughts deepened, a tinge of melancholy crept in. "I couldn't even go with my friends to the beach... I wish I could have seen the sea with them before my death. If I had only known..."

Your smile faded as your mind delved further into your reflections. Strangely, memories of your past and the people you held close flickered like fragments of a distant dream, just out of reach. Frustration welled up within you as you struggled to recall their faces or names, a sense of unease settling over your thoughts. 'No! I absolutely don't want to forget them! It's them who make who I am today, I can't simply erase them from my memories !'

Then, like a tide, the blurry recollection of your untimely death surfaced, casting a shadow over your musings. The memory of that tragic incident played out in your mind, each detail etched with an almost surreal clarity. "It was such a ridiculous way to go, now that I think about it," you muttered under your breath, shaking your head in self-deprecation. "Of all things, to be hit by a car because of a dog chasing a lizard. How utterly foolish, (Y/N)."

As your thoughts continued to spiral, questions surfaced about the aftermath of your accident. "Did the driver even realize what happened? Did they discover my body on the road?"The uncertainty gnawed at you, a reminder of the fragility of life that often shroud its final moments.

You sighed, your fingers tracing the rim of your cup absentmindedly. The weight of your past and the unresolved questions hung in the air, mingling with the gentle patterns of light from the city outside. In this quiet moment, you found yourself grappling with a mix of emotions-loss, curiosity, and a longing for closure that seemed just out of reach.

Lost in your thoughts, you were startled when the sound of footsteps broke through your reverie. Dazai had returned from his shower, his hair still slightly damp and a fresh change of clothes replacing his previous attire. He seemed to sense the shift in the atmosphere, his observant gaze narrowing as he studied your expression.

"(Y/N), is everything alright?" he inquired, his voice gentle yet laced with concern.

You blinked, taken aback by his perceptiveness. Quickly, you offered him a small smile, attempting to downplay your momentary introspection. "Oh, it's nothing, Dazai-san. Just lost in thought for a moment."

He arched an eyebrow, his intrigue evident. "Thoughts can be quite the labyrinth, especially when you venture into the depths. If you ever want to share, I'm here to listen."

His sincerity caught you off guard, and for a moment, you were tempted to open up to him. However, the weight of your past and the unresolved questions felt too heavy to reveal just yet. Instead, you shook your head, your smile holding a touch of gratitude. "Thank you, Dazai-san. I appreciate that."

He returned your smile, his gaze warm and understanding. "Well, whether you decide to share or not, remember that we're here to support you."

As his words washed over you, a sense of comfort settled in the midst of your uncertainty. With Dazai and the others by your side, you felt a glimmer of hope that maybe, just maybe, you would find the answers you were seeking and the closure you so desperately needed since your arrival here.

The conversation shifted as Dazai seamlessly guided you both into lighter topics. His ability to navigate between the profound and the playful was both intriguing and comforting.

As the evening wore on, the late hour caught up with you, your eyelids growing heavier despite your best efforts to stay awake. Dazai noticed your fatigue, and with a knowing smile, he stood up and stretched.

"Well, (Y/N), I believe it's time for us to call it a night. You must be tired after the events of the day," he remarked, his voice a soothing lull.

You stifled a yawn, your cheeks warming in embarrassment. "Yes, you're right. It's been quite a day."

Dazai walked over to you and offered a hand, helping you stand up. "Allow me to show you to your room."

With a grateful nod, you followed him to the room he had indicated earlier. The chamber was cozy and inviting, the bed neatly made, and Looki and Jumper were sleeping together on a cushion. You couldn't help but feel a surge of appreciation for Dazai's thoughtfulness in making you and your summons feel at home.

As you stepped into the room, Dazai paused by the doorway. "If you need anything during the night, don't hesitate to let me know. Rest well, (Y/N)."

"Thank you, Dazai-san. I really appreciate your hospitality," you replied with genuine gratitude.

He offered you a warm smile, his eyes reflecting a kindness that felt genuine. "It's my pleasure. Good night, (Y/N)."

With that, he left you to your own devices. The moment you settled into the softness of the bed, the events of the day seemed to catch up to you all at once. As your eyes fluttered closed, a sense of anticipation for what the coming days would bring empared you as your breathing steadied, and then, sleep began to claim you, the city's gentle hum outside seemed to embrace you, lulling you into a peaceful slumber. With a final, drifting thought, you surrendered to the pull of sleep, ready to face whatever tomorrow would bring with a heart full of curiosity and determination.
