CAROLINE WAS STANDING in line at her favourtite coffee shop. even though there was usually never a line, the store was oddly busy today.
"why's the line taking so long?" she mumbled to herself.
"i think there's a celebrity in there." the person behind her answered.
the influencer flushed, turning to the person, "i didn't realise you heard me."
"oh my god! you're a celebrity too!"
"not a big enough one to hold up a coffee shop line," she awkwardly laughed.
"can you call record a video for my daughters—aribah and safiya? they love you."
"aribah and safiya?" she clarified the pronunciation.
the lady nodded and recorded caroline for her daughters.
"thank you so much!"
caroline smiled. "of course."

it took fifteen minutes to order, and it had been another fifteen since then.
caroline was standing off to the side, next to a trash bin, scrolling on her phone whilst she waited.
because she wasn't looking up, she had no way to see the body flying towards her. but she could feel the hot coffee pouring down her front.
"oh my god!" she screamed at the temperature.
"i'm so sorry!" the lady apologized, handing her napkins.
"it's in my pants-" she gasped out, trying to dry the hot coffee.
"i really am so sorry." the lady said again.
"it was an accident-" caroline's voice died upon seeing who it was. "you're pansy parkinson." she whispered.
"i am." pansy nodded. "and you really have to let me make it up to you. your shirt is ruined."
"um- i," caroline stuttered.
"come," pansy grabbed her arm, "i'll buy you a new outfit.
"okay," caroline nodded, her coffee long forgotten.

"i don't like that one," pansy shook her head.
"this is the sixth shirt you've had me try on!" caroline whined.
"i want to make sure it's perfect."
"i want to make sure it's perfect," caroline copied pansy's british accent when she went back into the room.
"that's the one." pansy clapped the next time caroline came out.
"you think?" she turned to the mirror.
"of course it is! also i have these few pieces for you to try on."

"how do you even get this on?" caroline grunted.
pansy pulled the strings. "suck."
caroline let out a shaker breath, "i understand why women used to be so quiet in the olden days. it hurts to breathe!"
"but you look so good" pansy smiled when it was fully done.
"you have to promise to help me get it on next time i wear it."
"scouts honor." pansy saluted.

"can't believe you bought three other outfits while i was getting dressed." caroline shook her head.
"i'm your sugar momma now."
