"It was a cold winter night and kalani was currently locked in her bathroom trying to hide from the brown skin angry male that was yelling on the other side of the door, kalani was dating Jayden Mitchell aka jaymac who was a corner boy honestly he wasn't a real drug dealer like he fronted like he was. He was just a little boy with anger issues who needed women to fulfill his ego and kalani wasn't going to be that girl anymore.
"OPEN THIS FUCKING DOOR KALANI! " the male banged on the door , she just found out he's been cheating on her with a women and she's pregnant. This is the second time she's caught him cheating the first time he manipulated her into staying which she did but this was the finale straw for kalani
"LEAVE ME ALONE JAYDEN PLEASE" she begged she just wanted to leave she was over at his place which was a mistake. She already sent a text to her cousin/ brothers best friend Kobe who was on his way along with her brother.
"No open this fucking door bitch. You're not leaving me" he finally managed to open the door making kalani gasp , he looked at her with anger written all over his face

"Damn lani wait I'm sorry" he said and she snatched away from him speed walking into her room she didn't care about anything else she just wanted to go.
"Don't touch me don't touch me pls just leave me alone " she cried out she's never been so scared she never thought she would be this kind of girl
"No we need to talk about this shit kalani !" He slammed his hand on the wall but kalani ignored him feeling the sting on her cheek. She walked into the kitchen to grab her wallet she was leaving regardless, he was right on her heels so she grabbed a sharp knife
"BACK UP" she yelled at him pointing the knife at his face making him chuckle evilly
"What you gon do with that shit"he tried to snatch it from her but she already swiped it across his cheek making him scream in pain giving her a chance to run which she did. She ran out the door and never looked back"
"Get away from me" she gritted through her teeth trying not to cause a scene, Saint knew who Jayden was and exactly what he did to kalani and he always told her the moment he saw him he would kill him
"I ain't seen you in a while lani I can't say hello?" He said licking his lips looking at her, he hasn't seen a kalani since she was 20 and she was smaller and quieter he was liking what he was seeing a lot
"No you can't. Unless you wanna die get out of this store cause I can't stop him once he starts " she said looking at his face, he still had the scare on his face where she cut him
"I'm supposed to be scared of yo bitch ass boyfriend " he said to lani who blew a breath, she looked over seeing Saint grabbing the bags which she knew she had little time
"Look Jayden I don't give a fuck what you have to say. Get out my face I'm gonna go with my man don't make me cut you again" she gritted about to walk past him but he grabbed her arm which was a big mistake. Saint looked over seeing what was happening and dropped the bags on the counter walking over to them
"WAIT! Saint I'm fine look at me I'm ok! Come on let's go" she managed to get her arm from him and stand in front of a angry Saint.
"I'll kill you in this fuckin store putting yo hands on her, move lani " she knew how angry Saint was and she didn't know if she could bring him down from this level
"Bitch nigga I'm pose to be scared of yo ass? Huh?" Jayden tried taunting Saint, he moved kalani over and cocked his hand back sending a punch to Jayden face , kalani jaw dropped hearing a crack sound.
"SAINT NO" she yelled as Saint was about to launch at him but the guys that Saint knew in the foot locker managed to stop Saint
"Come on bro not here" the guy mumbled to Saint who was trying to break free, it was at least 3 men trying to hold Saint back
"Look at me ! Look at me. We have Dakota baby please ok, I'm fine we're fine let's just go " she gave him that look making his stop, he snatched away from the men holding him kalani already hand the bags in her hand. He took the bags from her and grabbed her hand walking out the store he didn't even bother looking at anybody else. Once they reached the car he threw the stuff inside and kalani grabbed his arm turning him towards her
"Baby, calm down please" she said placing her hands on both sides of his face
"He put his fucking hands on you kalani" even tho it happened before they even met Saint couldn't stomach the fact that it happened to her, one time they got into an argument and Saint reached his hand up to scratch his head and kalani flinched he could never get over that.
"I know baby I know but that's was years ago. A long time ago we're together we have a baby I'm grown please relax for me please. Let's go we can even go get our baby you just need to calm down" she spoke softly to him, she was always the only person who would get him to relax.
"Ima send a hit out on him. He's not leaving this city alive you hea me?" He told her and she nodded she knew he was dead serious and wasn't gonna say anything about it.
"I hear you. Can we go please I'm sorry" she said and he blew a breath
"Never apologize again for that fuck shit. It ain't got shit to do with you, it ain't never ya fault" he soften his face he didn't want her to revert back into that girl she use to be
"I know I'm so- nvm" she tighten her lips up, he shook his head opening her door sitting her inside
"Don't get your hands dirty tho ok? I need you here with me. I don't wanna visit you in a cell ever again" he leaned down kissing her lips, he didn't want her to stess about this, but he didn't care what it took that man wouldn't be breathing by the end of this week.
"I love you, thank you for always protecting me" kalani spoke up after the car was silent for a while due to Saint mind running
"I'll die behind protecting you and my daughter, y'all the reason i can breath the reason why I go so hard. Don't thank me for that shit kalani" he told her and she nodded, she grabbed his hand holding it the soft touch of her fingers rubbed his hand which calmed him down. He arrived back to his place making sure to park the car, they got out and he grabbed the bags and they made their way inside.
"You want me to cook?" She asked Saint after he threw the bags down he picked her up and sat her on his lap.
"Yeah whatever you want, not right now tho I just wanna feel you and I wanna talk" he said and she sighed she didn't wanna talk about her ex boyfriend
"What you wanna talk about hmm?" She dragged her pointer finger across his tattoo of her name, he looked at her face as she did it
"He only hit you once?" Saint asked and kalani movement paused
"Yes , he use to push me when he got mad and curse at me but the last time I seen him and when he slapped me. I never went back , Kobe couldn't find him for a while I think he moved but I didn't know he was back" she continued to rub his face he kept quiet letting his mind roam he knew the moment kalani fell asleep he had calls to make. He knew she was sleepy because she was being so touchy
"Ight, you getting sleepy " he began to massage her thighs to make her go to sleep faster he needed her to go to sleep so he could handle this before Jayden slipped town again
"Mhm can we go to bed" her eyes were closing slowly , he wrapped his arms around her and stood up taking her up the stairs into the bedroom. He laid her down and pulled off her pants , he walked over to the dresser grabbing her bonnet handing it to her
"Thank you" she mumbled lowly siting up a bit to put her bonnet over her head , she didn't bother putting her hand on she'll deal with that later.
"Cuddle please" she said to Saint who was pulling off his shirt, he slipped off his sweats and climbed in the bed
"I love you" he whispered to her while she dozed off laying on his arm.
Kalani woke up to the tv playing family guy on Hulu which she didn't even know when that was turned on, she felt around the bed feeling it empty making her pop her head up , she looked around seeing her alone in the room. She felt around the bed for her phone picking it up seeing at it was 5pm , she remembered getting home at 3.
She didn't see a call or a text from him which made her worry , she seen a text from his mom with pictures of Dakota which she opened and looked at
Kalani hearted the picture seeing her daughter having the time of her life with food of course, she then went to her phone checking saint location seeing that he was somewhere he wasn't supposed to be. She dialed his second phone number knowing it by heart
"My bad baby" he said as soon as he answered the phone knowing she's hot about him leaving without her saying anything they had a rule about that and he knew how she felt about it
"Don't my bad baby me Saint. What are you doing. " she said snatching the blanket off and walking to the bathroom
"I told you not to get your hands dirty! What are you doing Saint" she rubbed her temples are she spoke to Saint on his burner phone
"I'm not baby I promise, I'll be home soon Ight?" She blew a breath trying to keep her anger at a bay. She knew everything he was doing was to protect her and she was one thing Saint didn't play about he wasn't letting this go for nothing
"Okay I love you. " she sighed not wanting to hang up but knowing she has to
"I love you more " he hung up the phone and kalani stood in front of the mirror shaking her head , she grabbed her tooth brush and began brushing her teeth she couldn't help but worry about this. She picked up her phone face timing his mom to talk to Dakota to ease her mind.
"Okay ma I'll pick her up tomorrow " kalani said straightening her hair she was just trying to kill time
"Girl goodbye! Y'all need to leave me and my grand baby alone! Come get her the day after tomorrow " making kalani roll her eyes, she never argues or buts in when Lisa says she wants her grandbaby she's been away from her for too long so kalani just lets her have her whenever unless Saint says no
"Ok ma! Call me when she starts driving you crazy "
"I will not! Say bye mama!" Lisa put the phone in Dakota face , she poked her lips out trying to kiss her mom through the phone like she taught her
"Bye baby I loveeee you" she blew a kiss back at Dakota and hung up the phone, she knew not to call Saint again until he called her. She walked out the bathroom going into Saint closet to her side grabbing some clothes to put on, she was gonna go to her shop and convince one of the stylist to do her hair. She knew if she stayed home she would just worry about Saint assoon as kalani opened the door her phone rang making her laugh
"Yes Saint" she said standing in front of the door with the phone between her ear locking it with her key
"Where you going ?" She could hear the irritation in his voice as she walked to the elevator
"To my shop I wanna get my hair done and I don't feel like doing it myself and my wig and lifting thanks to you " she got on the elevator pressing the button
"What you leave for? I'm coming back later" Saint said with an attitude, he didn't like kalani leaving it was bad enough he was dealing with this shit he just wanted to come home to her being there.
"Exactly later, I don't wanna sit and wait for you I already woke up to you not being there. Lose the attitude fr cause I didn't even do nun" she could feel herself getting an attitude because he had an attitude , she walked to her car getting inside making sure to lock the door
"Ight lani, be safe. Send me a text when you get there and back Ight?" She rolled her eyes at him starting his bs
"Okay street" he sucked his teeth
"Lose the attitude treasure , I love you Ight?" She smiled no matter how much he irritated her or she irritated him he's always gonna tell her that he loves her
"I love you more Michael be safe for me baby pls! " she heard him chuckled replying always before he hung up the phone , she turned up her music singing until she pulled up to her shop seeing the lights on. She parked her car and got out grabbing her purse making herself inside
"Hiii boss lady!" The girls said cheesing as mani walked in
"Hi guys! Where's maya ?" Kalani said sitting her purse down at the front desk looking at Camilla the receptionist
"Um I think she's in the bathroom, I need to talk to you when your free" Camila said softly she was a sweet young girl who was in college kalani knew her sister who she use to go to school with
"What's wrong buttercup?" Kalani leaned on the counter making Camila giggle
"Um cat is having her baby I was wondering if I could have the weekend off to go see her? If not it's ok I und-" kalani cut her off
"Girl yes! I will have someone cover the desk or I will do it myself! Don't be afraid to ask me anything. You guys each have 80 hours of pto let me know if you wanna use it ok?" Camila smiled and nodded she was greatful for how nice kalani was
"HI BOSS! I'm here!" Maya said coming out the bathroom drying her hands, kalani already sent Maya a message about wanting her hair done
"Ok what we doing today?" Maya walked towards kalani who pointed to the wash bowl
"You said you wanted to try tape ins? Let's do it!" Kalani said sitting down making Maya cheese , she's been wanting to try this for the longest but she didn't wanna mess anybody's hair up but kalani always liked being a test dummy for her stylist.
"Lani! Where is my little bestie!" One of the lash girls Katrina asked kalani as she got her hair washed
"Girl she with Saint momma and she is not giving her back!" Kalani sat up as Maya massaged her scalp which felt amazing, she's been wearing wigs a lot lately and she needed to give her hair a breather
"Ouuu! Boss I didn't tell you! Why the fuck is Jason married! Bitch I was maddd! The bitch came to the restaurant we was at! " Kiera the nail tech said to kalani who's jaw dropped
"Bitch! But I liked him! He's married? Oh yo gosh tell me the whole thing!" Kalani sat for the next two hours talking to the girls in the shop while getting her hair done as soon as she finished with her last curl of course Saint called
"Oh my goshhhh Maya! This shit looks so good" kalani smiled combing her fingers through her hair , it was so Long and full and she could feel her scalp being able to breath
"No thank you for letting me practice! I feel confident enough to add it on my site!" She clapped her hands looking at kalani who stood in the mirror
"Kalani your phone is ringing!" Kalani looked over rolling her eyes seeing her man calling her again
"Yes baby?" She answered the phone putting it between her ear and her shoulder
"Wassup ? What you doin man I called you twice" he said over the phone making her roll her eyes
"I told you I was getting my hair done, are you done ?" She asked him , he was in the car driving to get them something to eat
"Yeah mama I'm getting some wings now, we need to talk to meet me back at the house Ight? Lemme see yo hair you playin n shit I ain't get no pictures? Fuck I ain't ya man no more?" Kalani smiled and rolled her eyes at Saint dramatics
"I literally just got out the chair, I'ma leave in a second let me say bye to the girls first mr.dramatic !" She grabbed her purse opening it pulling out $300 sneaking it in Maya drawer
"Ok girls I'm leaving ! I'll see y'all tomorrow! Destiny make sure Darnell is here when you lock up i do not want you here alone!" Kalani told destiny's who nodded, kalani had a strict rule about the women being alone even tho the shop was in a nice area she still didn't trust anything. She took a few body guards from Saint team they work between her and Saint all the time
"Ok boss see you later!" Kalani waved bye while walking to her car getting in with Saint still on the phone
"Nell on his way now ma" Saint told her making her nod
"Oh I forgot you can't see me! Ok thank you baby! Did you eat?" She asked him pulling out of her spot driving to his place
"I'm picking up the wings right now, you good?" He asked her
"Yes I'm fine I feel pretty! " she smiled looking at herself in the review mirror
"You always pretty, ms pretty pussy" he said making her gasp , she threw her head back laughing at Saint bluntness once again
"You one demon time 24:7 this why we got a baby now " she stopped at the red light looking down at her phone
"Yeah ima give you another one" he said and he heard the phone hang up making him suck his teeth at kalani hanging up the phone on him
