"I wanna start off talking a little bit about Dance Troop in Greensboro North Carolina, that was not the group in Lake Tahoe that just won a national championship, obviously cute still works in the Carolinas, Kendall you did your solo scared to death that face was not a Abby Lee Miller face that's for certain." Miss Abby says
"But Abby that was her first time." Jill starts to say
"Uh shhh, we don't get to talk it's my turn, this weekend we are headed to Columbus, Ohio you know who lives in Ohio." Miss Abby continue
"Candy Apple woohoo !" Chloe says and we all cheer loudly.
"And we are going there and she will be at the competition, I don't want any squawking between the mothers, you're all on the same team and we're all going to take a bite out of the big apple." Miss Abby says, we all start to laugh
"Alright we are going to start with the pyramid...on the bottom Kendall you are on probation that means that I am watching you like a hawk, do you understand me ?"
"Mackenzie I keep giving you little parts you're dancing is not up to where the rest of the girls are, when Maddie was 7 she could have done the choreography."
"Brooke you knew the number but the crying, and the hysteria that's not a young adult."
"Paige, you did a nice job this weekend then on the bus coming home we told you to sit down 32 times I counted that's 31 too many."
"Every single one of them where playing around the bus." Kelly says
"-But it's doesn't make it right ! but she's your daughter." Miss Abby says
"Well tell them to yell at them too !" Kelly shout back
"Nia I left you were you were last week, maybe somebody from Nia's family could show up at the competition and watch her and clap for her." Miss Abby says. But I was there ?
"Maddie, great dance, you were second."
"Next we have Chloe, Chloe you did a great job."
"And on top...Naïla you did a great job with a style of dance that you don't do very often, good." Abby says

"Every single person is going to be in the group dance it is called Bad Apples it's a little 40s has a little novelty but it's a little Katy Perry it's a little picked up so I want the pin up girl look we have the rat we have the snood. You don't know what a rat and a snood is go google it and figure it out, when you go onstage for that competition you better be on fire. Brooke you're doing a solo Cathy has a girl entered your age, I want you to make apple sauce out of that kid, backstage freak that kid out, I want that kid in tears before she steps on that stage." Abby says
"Alright, Candy Apple, apple sauce squish them," Mackenzie and I act like we're squishing them.
"Alright moms you dismissed, girls spread apart, let's warm up and start doing the number let's go. Music !" Miss Abby says

Five days to competition
"I do this, big ! Little !" Abby says showing us what we have to do.
We learn the dance, I love it.
Then we do an acro class, only with the girls from the elite competition team.
I do a shoulder stand when I see Jill entering the room.
"Abby I need to talk to you, can we- two minutes ?-" Jill says
"You shouldn't be here with the shoes on." Abby says cutting Kendall mom off.
"I just want to talk you about Kendall for a minute." Jill says
"Naïla count it up."
Abby go talk to Jill.
"1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8. 1,2,3,4,5,6-"
"Ladies I don't hear anybody counting, come on 1 and 2 and 3 and 4." Abby says, I was doing it, she literally stopped me from counting.
They continue talking for a bit.

Three days to competition
Today, Brooke, Maddie, Paige and I are learning our solos.
The show aren't airing Maddie, Paige and I solos.
"Naïla you're on." Maddie says leaving studio A.
"Ok, thanks."
I enter the room.
"Okay Naïla your doing the tap dance you learned with Matt. You better win, your on a winning streak." Abby says, I nod
"Ok." I say
"Bring your tap shoes and the portable tap floor." I go in the hallway and take the floor. Then I go put on my shoes.
I go back in the room.
"Music, let's go." I start to do my dance. I am good at tap.
"Chaine, Chaine, more faces." Abby says as I go trough the dance.
"Okay you dismissed, you'll rehearse it with Matt tomorrow." Abby says
"Okay. Goodbye." I say
"Goodbye, Naïla." Abby says
I go out of the room and see Maddie.
"What your dance style ?" I ask Maddie
"Lyrical and you ?" She replies
"You wouldn't believe it." I say
"What !?" She asks
"I have a tap dance." I say exited
"So cool, I am stuck with lyrical." Maddie says making a fake sad face.
"Oh don't worry, I am sure you will do awesome." I say

The song plays as we start the dance while Miss.Abby correct us.
"Stooop ! Paige what your doing, ok, let's just go again, let's just go again." Abby says
We continue rehearsing a little bit before Kelly comes in the room.
"Are they running solos ?" Kelly asks
"Yeah." Abby replies
"I am going to put these props in here." Kelly says
"Kelly she's thirteen let her do it herself." Abby says
"She did know I brought a hat !" Kelly shouts
I space out and start checking my nails.
Kelly go out and we continues our lesson.
"Is she drunk ? What is going on ?" Abby asks Paige and Brooke, I don't think that's really appropriate.
We are still dancing after that thing she just said.
"Naïla whatever you're doing is a mess." Abby says, wow it's really nice.

Two days to competition
"Girls, come on listen to me, tomorrow we are leaving for competition and you're all acting like 3 years old, like it's your first recital costume, stop. Get over there start working on your number." Abby says
We try on the costumes. We have a apple on our butts.
Mom and Jill come downstairs.
Abby is calling Nia and Kendall mistakes.

I am rehearsing my tap dance with Matt.
"More faces, Naï." He says
"You have to tap on that beat, ok ?" He asks

One day to competition
We are on the bus, I sit next to Kendall to learn to know her better.
"I got a thing to know each other better, I say a question and the two of us respond to the other. You are okay with the game ? " I say to Kendall.
"Okay, it's ok for me." She says
"What is your middle name and how old are you ?" I ask her
"My middle is name is K and I am eight years old. I am born the 9th December." She replies
"Ooh love your middle name and you are a 2003 ?" I ask
"No I am just born really late in the year and what about you ?' She asks me
"My middle name is Aloë and I am born late in the year too, the 17th October." I replies
"Cool." She says before smiling
We continue the game for one-two hour I think before sleeping like baby's.
"Girls come on let's go." Abby says as we go out of the bus.
It's the night, the competition is tomorrow.

We go off the bus that went from the hotel to the competition.
"Keep our heads up high alright ?" Miss Abby says to us as we walk in. I hold Nia hand.
"Hi how are you ?" Miss Abby asks Cathy.
"You have a curler." Cathy says to Abby, the cadc mom laughs.
"Nobody could tell me ?" Miss Abby says to us in a happy ton, we all laugh or smile and we walk into the dressing room
"Ladies think of everything I yelled at you about 5 days ago, 4 days ago, 3 days ago, 2 days ago, yesterday and go over that dance. This is really important to me personally, it's really important to your moms." Miss Abby tells us while we are getting ready for the group dance.
Abby complains about variations of snood with my mom, it's clearly ridiculous.
Chloe make a weird face, I laugh at her.
Then the moms talk about their party with Cathy. And Abby is talking about how it's rude and everything.
The girls and I walk to the curtains, I am holding Chloe hand. I kiss her on the cheek before going separate ways.
"Next up Abby Lee Dance Company with Bad Apples."
I think I did pretty good. Hope the others did too.
"Next up Candy apple dance company with Baila Hispañiola."
They look pretty old to be in our age group. Anyway they did good.
We are in the dressing room.
"Well that went down the tubes, didn't it ?" Miss Abby says
"What ?" Jill asks
"Well when Kendall goes early and doesn't hold and doesn't listen to the music. Kendall do you play an instrument ?" Abby asks, Kendall responds no "You need to learn read music and you need to learn to hear it. You have to step up the face you're standing next to this one, she was over the top with the faces." Miss Abby says
"Girls, this was an easy baby dance." Abby says
"Abby don't you think the other girls were much older than ours ? They look much older than ours." Jill says
"That's my job I need to worry about that." Miss Abby says
"Don't you think those girls were much older than 9 and 10 years old." Jill says
"No I don't think they were 9 and 10 however I look like an idiot that I just can't win from our own talent and choreography and costumes that I have to call somebody because the kids are too old, and I'm a little worried I think you should be worried too." Miss Abby tells us
Group awards
I stand next to Paige and Kenzie for the awards.
"Do you think we will win ?" I ask to Paige
"Hope so because if we're not Miss Abby is going to be so mad at us." Paige replies.
"Second place... number 44, Baila Hispañiola."
I look at Paige and smile.
"Our top junior small group number 43, Apple Tree." We all cheer and clap
Mackenzie take the trophy.
All the girls except Brooke, Paige, Maddie and I are changing into their regular clothes while we put on our solo costume.
Costume :
I have two braided pigtails with white and red bows on each.
I also have apples earrings.
"Girls come here." The soloists gather around her.
"You need to excel your solos, everything need to be on top and perfect. You two are still new in the category, people are seeing little kids, they think it will be easy to beat them. You need to prove them wrong, ok ?" Abby says, Maddie and I nods
"We have to get Snow White and Don't sit under the apple tree." The lady from the competition says. Maddie and I look at each other and follow the woman.
"Look at my earrings." I say to Maddie
"They are weird." She says back, I chuckle.
I am starting stage left and Maddie start stage right, I hug her and we go different directions.
She blows a kiss at me and I mimic a I love you.
"Welcome number 21, Snow White."
Maddie perform, it's great.
'Next in our category is number 22, Don't sit under the apple tree."

I think I did well.
When we were doing our dances, Brooke and Paige came here.
Paige performed, she was great her solo is called Poisoned Apple.
"Next up Abby Lee Miller, solo, Garden of Eden."
I think she did awesome.
The girl from cadc performed too. And I am not going to lie she was good.
We were in the dressing room, just chilling.
I am sat with Chloe, we are eating Pringles while everyone is talking.
"She doesn't seem like she was from Cathy's studio at all." Kelly says.
"Exactly, she's at least 15." Christi says
"Yeah." Melissa says agreeing with Christi.
"There's no way that kid, 11, 12." Christi says
"I don't think so either." Melissa says
"They're questioning Erica's age !" Chloe says to all of us.
"Who is?" Kelly asks
"The competition." Chloe replies.
"Yeah, 'cause I-I was back there, and the girl walked over and goes, We need birth certificates for Cathy's students." Brooke adds.
Someone walks trough the door, it's Leigh, the competition director.
"This place about to blow." I mumble to Chloe.
"Hi, Abby." Leigh says
"Hi. How are you ?" Abby answers
"Good. We got somebody questioning Brooke's age." Leigh continue, I am sure it's Cathy.
"Okay, she's 13 and she tur-"Abby says
"When's her birthday?" Leigh asks cutting Abby off.
"January." Abby says
"What year ?" Leigh asks
"January 30th of 1998." Kelly says
"Of '98." Leigh says writing it on her paper.
They continue talking and I continue to listen with the others girls.
Solo Awards
They already announced ten to 3rd place.
"Second place in the pre-junior category, Miss Maddie Ziegler with Snow White."
"And the winner of our pre-junior category is Miss Naïla Frazier with Don't sit under the apple tree."
I got up and the trophy.
We go back to the dressing room, where going to pack. Cathy comes in and start drama and everything.
Well it's cool, I think.
