in the forest of Springdale, Japan
Mt. Wildwood is home to many species of bugs and fish while also being a good spot for camping. It is that very reason the Adams family are spending their camping trip here. They were a small family of three.
Lily Adams had brown eyes and long brown hair and wore glasses. she wears an orange scarf with white polka dots, a yellow long-sleeve shirt, light gray denim shorts, dark brown tights, and brown hiking boots. Her husband, Aaron Adams, had brown eyes with short brunette hair and wore a simple light green polo with a lightning bolt and some dark blue hiking pants for the occasion. Last but certainly not least, Their 7-year-old son Nate Adams, had big dark-brown eyes and brown hair with three large spikes that resemble cowlicks, and a small amount of hair sticking out at the back of his neck. He wore a simple white shirt with a red star in the middle and had on some camping shorts.
Currently, the family had just gotten back from fishing and were going to cook some over the fire. Nate However was looking down and seemed disappointed. His mother caught this and approached him "Nate, Honey what's wrong? You look a little down" Lily Asked in a concerned voice. Nate looked up at his mother and answered "Well I was hoping to catch some cool rare fish but all I got were a bunch of carp and anyone can catch those. " He looks down dejected "I always hear all the other kids do something cool or exciting and I always feel like the lame kid cause I can never do anything like that." Lily takes her son's face in her hands and makes him look her in the eyes. "Now you listen here, I don't want to hear you say that about yourself ever again. You are most certainly not lame and you are a very wonderful and helpful son. Also your still young and no matter what anyone says to you I know with all my heart that someday you'll accomplish something extraordinary. You understand Nate?" She says with a stern face.
Nate smiles and nods his head and his mother gives him a kind smile. "Why don't you go and look around for a bit while I help your father." Nate smiles and goes to explore the area. "Don't go too far and make sure to be careful!" his mother shouts to him.
Nate goes on a leisurely walk while picking up a big stick to walk with cause he saw someone do it on TV and thought it looked cool. He was thinking over what his mom said and while he felt better than he did he still felt like he wouldn't be able to do anything exciting in his life. While walking into a clearing he spotted a man sitting on a rock meditating. He had orange-brown hair and was wearing a hooded robe with black and pink flower designs on it and had a beaded necklace around his neck
Nate was curious about what he was doing and as if sensing his stare the man opened his eyes and faced him "Need something?" the man asked. Nate nervously shook his head "Uh..n-no sorry if I disturbed you I was just curious about what you were doing." Nate said nervously the man smiled at him and replied "I'm just relaxing and taking in the peaceful air of the place. it's something I've learned to enjoy." He looked at Nate with curiosity in his eyes. "You seem awfully young to be in the woods by yourself. Where are your parents?" he asked with a hint of concern in his voice, it would probably be bad if the boy was lost. Nate pointed to where the campsite was "My parents are nearby over there. We were out camping and mom let me explore for a bit."
Nate looked at the man and was more relaxed now. The man seemed like a nice friendly person so Nate's nervousness faded. "My name is Nate Adams. What's yours?" The man then decided to introduce himself "My name is Takeru Tenkuji It's Nice to meet you, Nate." Nate smiled at him "Nice to meet you Mr.Tenkuji" After that Nate talked to Takeru for some time and found out he was a real-life ghost hunter, or at least he was before he decided to put them on hold so he could focus on catching up with his studies. Nate wonders what it would be like to be a ghost hunter, but doubts he could do it. Seeing him look a bit down at his thoughts Takeru gives him a questioning look. "what's wrong Nate?" Nate just sighs before giving his answer "It's just that it always feels like like all I'll ever be is some boring nobody. I've never once been able to accomplish anything in my whole life. My mom says I could do extraordinary things but how could I accomplish anything when I'm just so...average?"
Takeru listens to Nate closely before saying "You know I think you are being too hard on yourself I'm sure you could do something amazing too. You just need to believe in yourself." Nate gives him a questioning look "Believe in myself?" Takeru gives him a nod "That's right I've met lots of people through the years and have read of people from the past as well and the one thing I've learned is that human potential is infinite. You can do anything you set your mind to as long as you believe in yourself." Nate looks at Takeru in awe at his words and gains more confidence through his words. He stands to his feet "Okay then just you wait someday I'm gonna do something great!" he shouts but then he realizes something "But wait what kind of amazing thing should I do." He kept thinking that he wouldn't be able to do something incredible that he never bothered to think about what to do. Takeru takes a thinking pose "well what is something you feel great about doing?" Nate takes the same thinking pose and thinks. Something he feels great about doing? He thought back to all those times he helped his parents, teachers, or other kids in school it always made him happy when he helped them. "well I like helping people."
Takeru smiled at that. "Ok, that's a good start now you just have to think about what you'll do to help people." Nate thought about it and there were lots of things that he heard could help people doctors, firefighters, and police officers, but none of these felt quite write for him. then he thought back to his previous conversation with Takeru and suddenly his face lit up. "What if I become like you!" he proclaimed. Takeru was taken aback by that "Eh" Nate frantically said "You talked about helping people with ghost problems and that sounds super cool. I could be a ghost hunter like you and help people maybe I can make friends with the friendly ghosts."Nate proclaimed he thought it would be cool to have a ghost friend like in the books his mom read to him once. Takeru stared at the boy in astonishment and for a split second, he saw a younger version of himself in Nate's place. Takeru then smiled as he had just figured something out. "Now I see. So he's the one you were talking about ZI-O." he whispered to himself
Nate looks at him not quite hearing what he said"What did you say Mr. Tenkuji." Takeru shook his head with a chuckle "Never mind that, Now are you sure you want to do this? After all, I speak from experience it can be challenging and it will always seem to get harder as things go." Nate gave him a look that radiated determination "I don't care if it's hard! It doesn't matter what anyone throws at me human or yo-kai I won't give up!" Nate proclaimed Takeru smirked and reached into his robe and brought out a strange device that slightly resembled some sort of watch. it was black and orange and on the face, there was a strange symbol that resembled a ghost and on the bottom, there was the year '2015'
Takeru holds it out to Nate. "Then I hereby name you my successor." His words confused Nate who took the item from his hands. Successor? Successor for what? Takeru then does some hand signs before drawing the same symbol on the device in midair and pushing the symbol against Nate's head. Nate feels the rush of some odd energy within him and looks at Takeru with even more confusion. Takeru merely smiles "One day, when the time is right you will know what you must do. Oh! One more thing." He digs into his robe again and takes a book Titled 'Icons of the World' and gives it to him"It's a copy of a book that came in handy for me in the past. Well with that final piece, I think it's time for me to go. when your time comes I know you'll do great." Takeru says as he starts walking away. "Wait! I don't understand! What do you mean by-" Nate was then interrupted by the sound of his mother calling him "Nate! Foods done come on back!" Nate looks to where his mom is calling and looks back only to find Takeru is already gone. He looks around for a bit but can't spot him anywhere. Nate looks at the items Takeru had given him and decides to keep them and his meeting with Takeru hidden for now. As he puts them away he makes his way back to the campsite.
Meanwhile
Takeru is currently walking out of the woods while looking up at the sky. "Nate While I'm sure your journey will be filled with many hardships I know that you'll be able to overcome it and one day surpass me as the new Kamen Rider Ghost." With that, he makes his way back home having faith that his legacy is in good hands.

As a kid, I LOVED Yo-Kai Watch and still do to this day. I figured Nate would be a good fit for Ghost and have already got people in mind to be Specter and Necrom and I'm confident you'll be surprised about my pick for one of them. I will also have Nate and the other characters aged up with Nate being 14 instead of 11. For those who follow my other stories, I am SO sorry it has taken this long for me to publish something I have just been swamped with school and some family business so I have had little time to do this. Rest assured I will still be working on the others I'm not gonna give you guys any fixed dates on when a new chapter is coming but I will try to post chapters as much as I can.
