_______

In the darkness of the night, a little girl in a pitiful appearance was walking between her parents, wondering why they wanted to go for a walk so late at night.

"Mommy? Daddy? Where are we going?" the little girl asked while looking up to her parents' heads.

Her parents didn't bother looking at her and continued walking, their steps echoing ominously in the silence of the night. The moon hung low in the sky, casting eerie shadows that seemed to stretch and distort reality.

The child's heart raced, a growing sense of unease settling in her chest. She reached out to touch her parents, but her small hand passed through them as if they were mere specters.

" Did you reconcile ?" the girl asked innocently.

"Just shut up and continue walking, bitch." the father hissed, his voice dripping with bitterness.

Tears welled up in the child's eyes as she continued to walk in the eerie silence, feeling increasingly lost and abandoned. The shadows of the night seemed to come alive, whispering haunting secrets that sent shivers down her spine.

Finally, they reached their destination: a sinister-looking building that loomed ominously before them. Its darkened windows glistened with an otherworldly malevolence.

As they stepped inside, the child's fear intensified. The corridors of the building stretched endlessly, and every step echoed like a death knell. She clung desperately to her parents, begging for answers, but they remained as cold and unresponsive as the night itself.

Then, they arrived and stopped in front of a door.

"What are we doing here? Please, I want to come back home," the little girl pleaded, tears streaming down her face.

"Shut up if you don't want another slap like before," her father hissed, his anger simmering.

The mother paid no attention to the little girl's sobs and leaned toward the father. "Come on, darling, you just need to be patient for a few more minutes, and we will be rid of that brat, with a good sum of money welcoming us."

The father calmed down, and despite her pleas, the child was ushered into the foreboding room, her heart pounding with dread. The room seemed to pulsate with an eerie energy, its walls adorned with strange symbols that she couldn't decipher.

Inside, a lone figure in a lab coat loomed, its face obscured by a chiurgical mask. The child's terror reached its peak as it approached, it's intentions unfathomable.

"Please, Mommy, Daddy, I want to go home," she whimpered, her voice barely audible amidst the eerie silence.

But her parents ignored her and faced the figure, who advanced in front of them.

"Are you sure she has an ability?" the shadowy figure asked.

"Yes, my good sir, we are sure of it. We saw her heal many times fatal or any type of injuries of animals or people she encountered on her way. She even did a body part regrown! I tell you, she is a witch for us."

The shadowy figure looked directly at the little girl, making her flinch. "Well, we will see about that later."

The father began rubbing his hands together with a smile. "So, about the sum you proposed?"

"Here." The figure put a wad of bills in the father's hand, making him and his wife grin at the substantial amount. "I hope you are right about her abilities, otherwise..."

"You won't be disappointed, sire."

As the father responded, he and his wife happily made their way toward the exit, while the little girl tried to reach them and call out, "Father! Mother! Where are you going?! Don't leave me here alone!"

But they merely turned and walked away, leaving her alone with the looming figure. The door slammed shut behind them, sealing her fate in this nightmarish chamber.

"NO!" you exclaimed as you sat up in your bed, sweating profusely.

You looked around in panic, and after a few seconds, you sighed with relief as you realized you were in your own bedroom and not in that terrifying room from your nightmare.

Placing one hand on your racing heart, you mumbled to yourself, "What a nightmare..."

The morning light streamed into your room through the open window, and a gentle breeze rustled your hair.

As you gradually calmed down, a familiar voice called out, "(Y/N)! It's time for you to wake up! Breakfast is ready!"

Recognizing your mother's voice, you responded immediately, "I'm coming, Mom!"

After getting dressed and tying up your (h/c) hair with a white ribbon, you made your way to the bedroom door, headed downstairs, and entered the living room.

Upon entering, a delightful aroma filled the room, and you saw your younger siblings, (s/n) and (b/n), happily munching on their breakfast. You sat down across from them, eagerly awaiting your own meal. Just as you settled into your seat, you felt a gentle pressure on your leg. Looking down, you saw your dog, Looki, happily wagging his tail while placing his head on your lap, as if pleading for a few moments of affection. You couldn't resist his adorable request and gave him a warm smile, responding to his expectations by patting his head, which made him even happier.

After a few moments of shared affection with Looki, your mother, wearing a warm smile and holding a frying pan, approached and placed your breakfast on your plate.

"Did you sleep well, my dear?" she inquired.

"Yes, Mom, I just had a little nightmare, that's all," you replied with a reassuring smile.

"Oh dear, I hope it wasn't too frightening," she said as she took a seat beside you.

"Don't worry, Mom, it's already forgotten," you assured her, not wanting to burden her with the details of your unsettling dream.

"If you say so," she responded calmly and began to eat.

She then turned her attention to your brother and sister. "(b/n), (s/n), don't forget you have school today."

They sighed in unison, clearly not thrilled with the prospect. "Why doesn't (Y/N) have to go to school today? It's not fair!"

You couldn't help but smirk at their lament. "Well, that's because I have no classes today, unlike you two."

"Not fair!" they chorused again.

"Stop it, (Y/N), you're 20, and you should set a good example for your younger siblings," your mother said with a fond smile as she ruffled your hair.

You nodded in agreement and made a wide smile. "You're right, Mom. I'll be on my best behavior."

With breakfast in full swing, the family chatted about their plans for the day. Your mother mentioned errands she had to run, and that your father had to leave early for work but would be back later tonight. Your siblings reluctantly accepted that school was unavoidable, and Looki, now content, played with his toys.

After finishing your meal, you decided to spend your free time in your room and headed toward it, accompanied by Looki at your side. You were eager to indulge in your favorite anime, "Bungou Stray Dogs," which you had watched many times. It was more than just an anime to you; it held a special place in your heart and you loved everything about it, in particulary one character : Dazai.

He was your favourite above all the others, and perhaps that was why you hadn't dated any guys until now. You loved all his aspects, his past, his character, his appearance, everything. But what truly resonated with you was the moment in the series when he explained why he wanted to die. In the episode where he shared his reasons for joining the Port Mafia, he revealed that it was only because of one reason, it was that he was searching of a reason to live

At that moment, you identified yourself a little to him. He was right, you yourself was searching for a meaning in your life, despite the fact you had all someone needed to be happy, like a stable, loving and caring family, a dog who was stupid but lovable, or friends who were the best you could dream of. But you were still searching for a purpose in your life, you still didn't have any dream jobs you wanted to do, unlike others, despite all your research, making you follow with the course of life.

You always asked yourself this same question, and that made you like even more Dazai. He was searching for the same reason as you, and as you followed his adventures, a thought occurred to you. If you could, you would search with him the response, you would go find your reason to live with him.

Since then, you had watched the series repeatedly, growing more attached to Dazai with each viewing. He had become a part of your daily life, occupying your thoughts whenever you had the occasion to think questions about yourself and your existence. Even now, you were still trying to find the response, the key to open the safe in your heart, that would motivate you to live.

So, when you learned that you didn't have classes you wanted to enjoy as much of possible of your free time. However, as you watched the anime, appreciating your moment, you couldn't shake the remnants of your unsettling nightmare.

The memory of that nightmarish room and the shadow figure lingered in your mind. It had been so vivid, as if it was a memory from another lifetime. You dismissed it as a strange dream, even though it felt so real and continued to immerse yourself in the anime.

Some time later, you received a message from your mom :

_____

Mom : "Hey my dear, I think I will not be here before a long time, so could you please walk out Looki for me?"

Me : "Sure mom. Leave it to me ! :) "

_____

You pocketed your phone, closed your computer, and turned your attention to Looki, who was peacefully napping on the floor. You called out to him, "Looki?"

He perked up immediately, his tail wagging with excitement as he gazed at you, eager for a walk.

"Shall we go for a walk?" you asked him.

In response, Looki barked joyfully and rushed toward the stairs. His enthusiasm brought a smile to your face, and you giggled at his boundless energy as you went toward the house entrance.  You put on your shoes, grabbed his leash, and secured it to Looki, who was still expressing his anticipation for the walk.

As you stepped outside, Looki couldn't contain his excitement and scanned the surroundings for any potential playmates or intriguing scents.

Then, with Looki leading the way, you embarked on a leisurely stroll through your familiar neighborhood. The morning sun bathed the streets in a warm glow, and a gentle breeze rustled the leaves of trees, creating a soothing melody. You cherished these moments with your faithful companion, the worries of the day temporarily fading into the background.

As you walked, you couldn't help but let your mind wander back to your favorite anime and the enigmatic character, Dazai. The thought of searching for a reason to live alongside him had become a persistent daydream, a secret longing that you hadn't shared with anyone, not even your closest friends or family.

You admired Dazai's resilience, his ability to find humor in the darkest of situations, and his unwavering commitment to his ideals. Watching his character evolve and face the challenges of the Port Mafia and the Armed Detective Agency had become a source of inspiration for you.

But the lingering memories of your recent nightmare tugged at your thoughts. Your 'parents' with the shadow and the eerie room haunted your subconscious, and you couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to it than just a dream.

Looki's joyful antics brought you back to the present moment, grounding you in the simple pleasures of life. His tail wagged vigorously as he explored every nook and cranny, and you couldn't help but smile at his infectious enthusiasm.

You had a lot to think about, but for now, you decided to focus on enjoying this peaceful walk with Looki, cherishing the bond between you and him.
