Sam, Dean, Hermione and Bobby are staying at Bobby's. Bobby is sitting at his desk with a pile of books in front of him. Sam is sitting in a chair in the opposite corner talking to Dean, who is standing. Hermione leans against the desk looking at the boys.

'Well, then tell me what else it could be,' Sam asks Dean.

'Look, all I know is I was not groped by an angel,' Dean responds. Hermione understands where Dean was coming from. She also didn't believe Castiel at first when he had told her he was an angel.

'Okay, look, Dean. Why do you think this Castiel would lie to you about it?'

'Maybe he's some kind of demon. Demons lie,' Bobby looks up from his books at the boys.

'A demon who's immune to salt rounds and devil's traps...and Ruby's knife? Dean, Lilith is scared of that thing!'

'Don't you think that if angels were real, that some hunter somewhere would have seen one...at some point...ever?'

'Yeah. You just did, Dean,'

'I'm trying to come up with a theory here. Okay? Work with me,' Dean tries.

'Dean, we have a theory,'

'Yeah, one with a little less fairy dust on it, please,'

'Okay, look. I'm not saying we know for sure. I'm just saying that I think we—'

'Okay, okay. That's the point. We don't know for sure, so I'm not gonna believe that this thing is a freaking Angel of the Lord because it says so!'

'Or me,' Hermione mutters under her breath, neither of the boys heard her.

'You two chuckleheads want to keep arguing about religion, or do you want to come take a look at this?' Bobby asks. Sam and Dean walk over towards Bobby's desk. 'I got stacks of lore—Biblical, pre-Biblical. Some of it is in damn cuneiform. It all says an angel can snatch a soul from the pit,'

'What else?' Dean asks.

'What else, what?'

'What else could do it?'

'Airlift your ass out of the hot box? As far as I can tell, nothing,'

'Dean, this is good news,' Sam points out.

'How?'

'Because for once, this isn't just another round of demon crap. I mean, maybe you were saved by one of the good guys, you know?'

'Okay. Say it's true. Say there are angels. Then what? There is a God?'

'At this point, Vegas money is on yeah,' Bobby responds.

'I don't know, guys,'

'Okay, look. I know you're not all choirboy about this stuff, but this is becoming less and less about faith and more and more about proof,'

'Proof?'

'Yes,'

'Proof that there is a God out there that actually gives a crap about me personally? I'm sorry, but I'm not buying it,'

'Why not?' Hermione asks.

'Because why me? If there is a God out there, why would he give a crap about me?'

'Dean—' Sam begins.

'I mean, I've saved some people, okay? I figured that made up for the stealing and the ditching chicks. But why do I deserve to get saved? I'm just a regular guy,'

'Apparently, you're a regular guy that's important to the man upstairs,'

'Well, that creeps me out. I mean, I don't like getting singled out at birthday parties, much less by...God,'

'Okay, well, too bad, Dean, because I think he wants you to strap on your party hat,'

'Fine. What do we know about angels?'

Bobby picks up a pile of fat and weighty looking books and puts them in front of Dean. 'Start reading,'

Dean looks at the pile of books, and turns towards Sam. 'You're gonna get me some pie,' He grabs a book from the top of the pile. Hermione walks over towards the table as Sam leaves the room. She takes a seat at the table and grabs one of the books on the pile. Dean looks over towards her. She had been quiet ever since they had met Castiel. 'You okay?' He asks her.

Hermione looks up from her book towards Dean. 'Yeah just tired. I mean it has been intense these past few days,'

'You never told Sam about the angel did you?'

'I wanted to tell him, but I wanted to tell him after Castiel had saved you,'

'Well he saved me,'

'Oh, so you admit it now,' Hermione gives him a cheeky smile.

Dean looks away from her. 'Shut up,' He grabs a book and starts to read it. Hermione does notice a little smile, he desperately tries to hide. She focuses on her book but her thoughts wander away. She bites her lip, she needs to talk with Dean about that kiss they shared.

Sam pulls up to the house again. Bobby approaches the car window.

'Keep the engine running,' he informs Sam.

'Why? What's going on?'

'I got a friend one state over—Olivia Lowry. I've been trying to reach her for three days on this angel thing. It's not like her to ignore this many calls,'

'Olivia Lowry–a hunter, right?'

'Yeah. We're gonna go check on her. You guys follow me,'

Dean approaches the driver's side of the car, as Bobby heads to his own car. Hermione walks up to the backseat and gets settled in the middle seat. 'Scoot over. Yeah,' Dean says to Sam. He grabs the bag of food Sam had bought back and looks inside it. 'Dude?'

'Yeah?'

'Where is the pie?'

Bobby, Sam, Dean and Hermione arrive at Olivia's house. Bobby enters the house, armed with a gun, followed by Dean, Sam and Hermione who are also armed. Bobby thought it was saver if Hermione would leave her wand in the car and keep a gun on her. They go around the house searching for Olivia.

'Olivia?' Bobby asks into the room. They see Olivia dead and covered in blood on the floor. Bobby walks away out of the room.

'Bobby?' Dean asks after him.

Sam points to the doorway. 'Salt line,' Sam, Dean and Hermione look around the room.

Dean picks up the EMF reader. 'Olivia was rocking the EMF metre,'

Hermione nods. 'Spirit activity,'

'Yeah—on steroids. I never seen a ghost do this to a person,' Dean points out. Bobby enters the room again, his phone in his hand. 'Bobby, are you all right?'

'I called some hunters nearby...'

'Good. We can use their help,'

'...except they ain't answering their phones either,'

'Something's up, huh?' Sam asks.

'You think?' Bobby walks out of the room, Sam and Dean look concerned at each other.

Dean, Sam and Hermione walk down the stairs of a white country house. Dean is on the phone.

'We're in Jackson. It's not pretty. He looks even worse than Olivia. What about you?' He asks Bobby, who was driving in his car.

'R.C. I checked on Carl Bates and R.C. Adams. They've redecorated...in red,'

'What the hell is going on here, Bobby? Why did a bunch of ghosts suddenly want to gank off-duty hunters?'

'I don't know, but until we find out, you guys better get your asses to my place,'

'We're on our way,'

Dean, Sam and Hermione are driving down the road before pulling up to a stop at a service station. The car stops, and Sam puts the gas pump in the car. He walks to the restroom while the gas is pumping. Dean is asleep in the passenger seat of the car. Hermione also got out of the car to stretch her legs. Sam knew she would stop the gas when it would be enough. Sam washes his hands in the bathroom, when he breathes out his breath is visible. The bathroom mirror is covered with foggy mist, which Sam wipes away with his hand. He is startled to see Henriksen's reflection.

'Hi, Sam. it's been a while,' He says.

'Henriksen. Are you—Did you...'

'I didn't survive...if that's what you're asking,'

'I'm sorry,'

'I know you are,'

'Look, if we'd known Lilith was coming—'

'You wouldn't have left half a dozen innocent people in that police station to die in your place. You did this to me. It was your fault. She was after you, and I paid the price. You left us there to die!' Henriksen attacks Sam, grabbing him hard, and throwing him around. Sam notices a small brand on Henriken's hand. Sam is thrown against the mirrors and Henriksen knocks his head on the sink. Sam falls to the ground. Dean enters and shoots at Henriksen, whose ghost disappears. Hermione rushes past him right to Sam to help him.

Dean is driving the Impala while on the phone. Sam is in the passenger seat with bruises on his face. Hermione had put some bruise removal paste on his bruises so they would disappear within the hour.

Dean looks at his phone. 'Damn it, Bobby! Pick up!' He moves to Sam. 'How are you feeling, huh? How many fingers am I holding up?'

'None. I'll be fine, Dean,'

'Henriksen?'

'Yep,'

'Why? What did he want?'

'Revenge, because we got him killed,'

'Sam,'

'Well, we did, Dean,'

'All right. Stop right there. Whatever the hell is going on, it's happening to us now, okay? I can't get ahold of Bobby, so if you're not thinking answers, don't think at all,'

Dean, Sam and Hermione enter Bobby's house, guns cocked and ready.

'Bobby?' Dean asks. They find an iron poker on the ground. Dean gestures to the stairs. 'I'll go. You check outside,' He says to Sam. 'You check the basement,' He says to Hermione.

Sam walks through the junkyard. Bobby is in a car with two little girls, who are keeping him quiet.

'Bobby? Bobby?' Sam shouts.

Dean is upstairs searching around.

'Bobby?' A door opens slowly but no one is visible. 'Come out, come out, whoever you are,'

A young woman with shoulder-length brown hair appears behind him. 'Dean Winchester. Still so bossy. You don't recognize me?' Dean flashes back to Meg when she was blonde and possessed. 'This is what I looked like before that demon cut off my hair and dressed me like a slut,'

'Meg?'

'Hi. It's okay, I'm not a demon,' Dean chocks his gun. 'It's okay, I'm not a demon,'

'You're the girl the demon possessed,'

'Meg Masters. Nice to finally talk to you when I'm not, you know, choking on my own blood,' Meg holds up her hands. 'It's okay. Seriously, I'm just a college girl. Sorry—was. I was walking home one night and got jumped by all this smoke. Next thing you know, I'm a prisoner...' She puts a hand to her head. 'In here. Now, I was awake. I had to watch while she murdered people,'

'I'm sorry,'

'Oh, yeah? So sorry you had me thrown off a building?'

'Well, we thought—'

'No, you didn't think! I kept waiting, praying! I was trapped in there screaming at you! "Just help me, please!" You're supposed to help people, Dean. Why didn't you help me?'

'I'm sorry,'

'Stop saying you're sorry!' Meg slaps Dean and knocks him to the floor.

'Meg. Meg...' Meg kicks Dean. 'We didn't know,'

'No...you just attacked. Did you ever think there was a girl in here? No. You just charged in, slashing and burning. You think you're some kind of hero?'

'No, I don't,'

Meg grabs hold of Dean's jacket. Her hand has a brand on it. 'You're damn right. Do you have any idea what it's like to be ridden for months by pure evil...while your family has no idea what happened to you?'

'We did the best we could,' Meg shoves Dean and kicks him again.

Hermione walks down the basement, her wand lighting up the way for her. As she walks down she notices a shadow standing in the room, she sighs of relief.

'Bobby, we were worried something happened to you,' she says. The shadow doesn't respond. Hermione frowns and creates an orb of light to light up the room. It wasn't Bobby who was standing in front of her, instead it was a girl wearing a Hogwarts school uniform. Still looking as young as she did the day she died 'Lavender?' Hermione asks. Lavender Brown turns towards Hermione, her eyes cold.

'Well, well if it isn't you,' She says towards Hermione. 'My hero right?'

'Lavender...I—I tried. I though—'

'You thought you saved me but you didn't,' She takes a step towards Hermione. 'But you knew that, you knew I was passed saving but no you just wanted attention of trying to save me. So that you could have Ron all to yourself and him knowing that you tried to save me?'

'That's not true. If I was there quicker,'

'But you weren't!' Lavender snaps. 'You only cared about yourself. Why did you deserve to live and be happy and I die?'

'I don't know,'

'You know what is even funnier. You never wanted Ron, you didn't love him like I did. But no he wanted you and look how that worked out. He is in London trying to continue and build a life for himself and you're here with a bunch of killers,'

'We—'

'Don't even. You left Ron behind a man that loved you for who? Another guy that just uses you,' Lavender grabs Hermione by her hair before throwing her against the wall.

The girls still hold Bobby captive in one of the cars.

'Are you scared, Bobby?' One girl asks.

'We were scared, Bobby,' The other ads.

'When the monster came for us...and grabbed us tight,'

'And we couldn't even scream. You were right there, Bobby,'

'You were in the house,'

'You were so close,'

Sam is still in the junkyard searching for Bobby. His breath becomes visible. 'Bobby?' He asks.

'You could have saved us, Bobby,' The second girl points out.

'We're here, Bobby?' Sam shouts.

'You walked right past that door,' The first girl responds.

'The monster had us. And you didn't find us,'

'And now they won't find you,'

Dean is still lying on the floor, Meg is standing over him.

'It wasn't just me, Dean. I had a sister. A little sister. She worshipped me. You know how little siblings are, right? How they'll do anything for you. She was never the same after I disappeared. She just...she just got lost. And when my body was lying in the morgue beat-up and broken...'

'Meg,' Dean tries.

'Do you know what that did to her? She killed herself!' She kicks Dean in the stomach. 'Because of you, Dean! Because all you were thinking about was your family, your revenge, and your demons! 50 words of Latin a little sooner, and I'd still be alive. My baby sister would still be alive. That blood is on your hands, Dean!'

'You're right,'

Lavender throws Hermione against another wall without moving a finger.

'You know how scared I was when he lingered over me. When I felt his teeth sink into my throat, ripping it out. I didn't have my wand and I was all alone. You know who cared about me, Parvati. She was the only one who mourned me after the war, nobody else cared,'

'I—'

'Don't lie! You couldn't be happier now that you had Ron all to yourself,' She picks Hermione up like she weighs nothing more than a ragged doll. 'And just like that you destroyed him too,' Hermione notices a mark on Lavender's hand before she flings her against the back wall.

Sam spots a reflection in the junkyard and works his way up a pile of cars towards Bobby.

'Bobby! Hold on, Bobby! I'm coming! Bobby!' Sam uses a crowbar to pry open the doors to the car where Bobby is being held. The girls push him backwards and he lands on another car below, bleeding. One of the girls jumps on him. Sam uses the crowbar to fight her, while Bobby does the same thing with the other girl. The girls disappear.

Dean is still on the ground. He takes out a gun and aims it at Meg.

'Come on, Dean, did your brain get french-fried in Hell? You can't shoot me with bullets,'

'I'm not shooting you,' Dean aims his gun and shoots at the ceiling. A chandelier falls and lands on Meg. 'Iron,'

Hermione gets slammed on her stomach, she starts to gasp for air.

'I thought you were the smartest witch of your age? Was that only in school? Because this is just sad. I expected more of you but even I weak little Lavender can take you out,' Hermione wiggles the knife Sam gave her, out of her boots. Lavender looks at it. 'You might not be a real hunter but I thought you would come up with something smarter than that. As knives don't hurt me,'

'It's not the blade,' Hermione throws the knife at her, hoping that her plan would work. The black handle of the knife was laced with iron, as the knife flies through Lavender the iron hits her and she disappears. Hermione sighs in relief as she lays on the ground.

Dean, Sam, Bobby and Hermione are in the study. Hermione sits on the chair letting her back rest.

'So, they're all people we know?' Sam thinks out loud, after everyone had told them what happened.

'Not just know. People we couldn't save. Hey, I saw something on Meg. Did she have a tattoo when she was alive?' Dean asks.

'I don't think so,'

'It was like a-a mark on her hand—almost like a brand,'

'I saw a mark, too, on Henriksen,'

'Saw also one on Lavender,' Hermione ads.

'What did it look like?' Bobby asks.

'Uh, paper?' Sam asks. He takes an offered paper and starts sketching the mark. 'Thanks,' Sam holds the drawing up for Dean and Hermione to compare.

'That's it,' Dean says. Hermione nods in agreement.

'I may have seen this before. We got to move,' Bobby responds.

'Whoa,'

'Follow me,'

'Okay, where are we going?' Sam asks.

'Some place safe, you idiot,' Bobby picks up some books and leads Sam, Dean and Hermione to a basement room, which is made entirely of iron and covered with pentagrams and Devil's traps.

'Bobby, is this...'

'Solid iron. Completely coated in salt. 100% ghost-proof,'

'You built a panic room?'

'I had a weekend off,'

'Bobby,' Dean begins.

'What?'

'You're awesome. Oh,' Dean notices a poster of a swimsuit model.

Sam and Dean are making iron bullets in the saveroom. Hermione and Bobby are looking through different books trying to find an answer.

'See, this is why I can't get behind God,' Dean suddenly points out.

'What are you talking about?' Sam asks.

'If he doesn't exist, fine. Bad crap happens to good people. That's how it is. There's no rhyme or reason—just random, horrible evil—I get it, okay. I can roll with that. But if he is out there, what's wrong with him? Where the hell is he while all these decent people are getting torn to shreds? How does he live with himself? You know, why doesn't he help?' Sam and Dean look over at Bobby.

'I ain't touching this one with a 10-foot pole,' Bobby points out.

'Yeah,'

'I found it,' Hermione suddenly points out.

'What?' Sam asks.

'The symbol we saw–the brand on the ghosts...'

'Yeah?'

'Mark of the Witness,'

'Witness? Witness of what?'

'The unnatural. None of them died what you'd call ordinary deaths. See, these ghosts—they were forced to rise. They woke up in agony. It isn't their fault. Someone rose them...on purpose,'

'Who?'

'Do I look like I know everything?' Hermione asks. Dean shrugs. 'I don't know who did it, it doesn't say only one person can do this but whoever used a spell that was so powerful it left a mark. Whoever did this had big plans. It's called "the rising of the witnesses". It figures into an ancient prophecy,'

'Wait, wait. What–what book is that prophecy from?' Dean asks.

'Well, the widely distributed version is just for tourists, you know. But long story short—Revelations. This is a sign, boys,' Bobby responds.

'A sign of what?' Sam and Dean ask in unison.

'The apocalypse,'

'Apocalypse? The apocalypse, apocalypse? The four horsemen, pestilence, $5-a-gallon-gas apocalypse?' Dean asks.

'That's the one. The rise of the witnesses is a—a mile marker,' Bobby explains.

'Okay, so, what do we do now?' Sam asks.

'Road trip. Grand Canyon, Star Trek Experience. Bunny Ranch,' Dean responds.

'First things first. How about we survive our friends out there?' Bobby explains.

'Great. Any ideas aside from staying in this room until Judgment Day?'

'It's a spell,' Hermione indicates towards the paper in front of her. 'To send the witnesses back to rest. Should work,'

'Should. Great,' Sam responds.

'If we translate it correctly. I think I got everything we need here at the house,' Bobby says.

'Any chance you got everything we need here in this room?' Dean asks.

'So, you thought our luck was gonna start now all of a sudden? Spell has got to be cast over an open fire,'

'The fireplace in the library,' Sam points out.

'Bingo,'

'That's just not as appealing as a, uh, ghost-proof panic room, you know?' Dean says. Sam, Dean, Hermione and Bobby prepare to leave the panic room.

'Cover each other. And aim carefully. Don't run out of ammo until Hermione is done, or they'll shred you. Ready?' Bobby orders.

'Be careful of Lavender, she might be dead but she was a witch before she died,' Hermione explains. They make their way out of the room, and head towards the stairs. A ghost sits on the stairs, a young man in his early 20s with curly hair.

'Hey, Dean. You remember me?' The ghost asks.

'Ronald, huh? With the laser eyes? I wish I could say it's good to see you,' Dean responds.

'I am dead because of you. You were supposed to help me!'

Bobby shoots at Ronald. 'If you're gonna shoot, shoot. Don't talk,' Sam, Dean, Hermione and Bobby make their way to the living room. Sam creates a salt circle and Dean starts the fire. Bobby moves to Sam. 'Upstairs, linen closet—red hex box. It'll be heavy,'

'Got it,'

The two girls appear in the living room again. 'Bobby,' one of them says. Dean shoots at the girls.

'Kitchen. Cutlery drawer. It's got a false bottom. Hemlock, opium, wormwood,'

'Opium?' Dean asks.

'Go!' Lavender reappears as Dean leaves for the kitchen. Hermione is drawing with chalk on the desk and tries to focus on that while she is there.

'You left me there in the courtyard to die. You could have saved me,' She says Bobby picks up his gun and shoots at Lavender.

Upstairs Sam finds the red box in the cupboard.

'You know what really pisses me off, Sam?' Meg asks. Sam turns around, sees Meg and fires at her. 'You saw how I suffered for months. I thought you must have learned something. I thought I died for something,'

'Meg,'

'But what you're doing with that demon, Ruby...How many innocent bodies has Ruby burned through for kicks? How many girls just like me? And you don't send her back to Hell? You're a monster!' Sam raises his rifle and shoots Meg.

Dean is in the kitchen looking for the false bottom in the drawer. The doors to the kitchen close suddenly.

'Dean?' Hermione asks.

'I'm all right, Hermione! Keep working!' Henriksen appears next to Dean. 'Victor,'

'Dean,'

'I know,'

'No. You don't,'

'It's my fault you're dead. I left you behind. And the minute I heard about that explosion, I thought, "I should have known". I should have protected you,' Dean reaches for a gun behind him, but it goes flying across the room.

'Unh-unh. Not so fast. You think you left and Lilith came and we all died in a beautiful blast of...white light? If only. 45 minutes,'

'What?'

'Over 45 minutes. Lilith said she wanted to have some fun. The secretary was first. Remember her? Nancy, the virgin. Lilith filleted Nancy's skin off piece by piece. Right in front of us, made us watch. Nancy never stopped screaming,'

'No,'

'I was the last,'

'Victor...'

Henriksen reaches inside Dean's chest and grips his heart. 'Tell me how it's fair. You get saved from Hell—I die. Why do you deserve another chance, Dean?' Hermione enters and shoots Henriksen. She rushes to check on Dean as soon as Henriksen is gone.

'Are you all right?' She asks.

'No,'

'Let's go,' Hermione helps Dean up and she and Dean carry the ingredients to the library. Sam also enters the library. Ronald appears again as Dean is reloading his gun.

'Ronald. Hey, come on, man. I thought we were pals,' Dean says to him.

'That's when I was breathing. Now I'm gonna eat you alive,'

'Well...come on, I'm not a cheeseburger,' Dean cocks his gun and points it at Ronald, but Ronald has vanished. Hermione recites some Latin words and the windows blow open and a wind fills the room. The wind moves the salt so they are no longer protected by it. Meg appears and Sam quickly shoots at her, as Hermione continues to recite the spell. Ronald appears and they shoot at him. Sam, Dean and Bobby continue to fire as the ghosts appear. Henriksen knocks Dean's gun out of his hands when he is reloading, and approaches him. Dean grabs another gun, and shoots it, only to find it empty. He quickly picks up an iron rod and hits Henriksen. Meg appears and pushes Sam against the wall, trapping him there with a desk. Sam tries to push the desk away without success. 'Sam!'

'Cover Hermione!' Hermione continues to recite the spell and Sam keeps trying to get out from behind the desk. The two girls are sitting on the desk waiting. Meg plunges a hand into Bobby's back. Bobby drops his gun. Lavender appears before Hermione without Bobby there she throws her back into a stack of books. Hermione drops the bowl with the spell ingredients.

'Dean!' Bobby shouts as Dean catches the bowl. 'Fireplace!' Dean throws the bowl in the fire, which turns blue. The ghosts all disappear. Bobby falls to the ground.

'Bobby?' Dean asks. Sam pushes the desk away, freeing himself. He walks over towards Hermione to check up on her. Dean helps Bobby up. He nods, indicating he is okay.

Hermione is asleep on the couch. Sam and Dean are both asleep on the floor nearby. Dean wakes up to find Castiel standing in the kitchen. Dean checks on Sam and Hermione, sees that they are still asleep, and walks over to join Castiel.

'Excellent job with the witnesses,' Castiel says to Dean.

'You were hip to all this?'

'I was, uh, made aware,'

'Well, thanks a lot for the angelic assistance. You know, I almost got my heart ripped out of my chest,'

'But you didn't,'

'I thought angels were supposed to be guardians. Fluffy wings, halos—you know, Michael Landon. Not dicks,'

'Read the Bible. Angels are warriors of God. I'm a soldier,'

'Yeah? Then, why didn't you fight?'

'I'm not here to perch on your shoulder. We had larger concerns,'

'Concerns? There were people getting torn to shreds down here! And, by the way, while all this is going on, where the hell is your boss, huh, if there is a God?'

'There is a God,'

'I'm not convinced. Because if there is a God, what the hell is he waiting for, huh? Genocide? Monsters roaming the earth? The freaking apocalypse? At what point does he lift a damn finger and help the poor bastards that are stuck down here?'

'The Lord works...'

'If you say "mysterious ways", so help me, I will kick your ass. So, Bobby was right...about the witnesses. This is some kind of a...sign of the apocalypse,'

'That's why we're here. Big things afoot,'

'Do I want to know what kind of things?'

'I sincerely doubt it, but you need to know. The rising of the witnesses is one of the 66 seals,'

'Okay. I'm guessing that's not a show at Seaworld,'

'Those seals are being broken by Lilith,'

'She did the spell. She rose the witnesses,'

'Mm-hmm. And not just here. Twenty other hunters are dead,'

'Of course. She picked victims that the hunters couldn't save so that they would barrel right after us,'

'Lilith has a certain sense of humour,'

'Well, we put those spirits back to rest,'

'It doesn't matter. The seal was broken,'

'Why break the seal anyway?'

'You think of the seals as locks on a door,'

'Okay. Last one opens and...'

'Lucifer walks free,' Castiel responds.

'Lucifer? But I thought Lucifer was just a story they told at demon Sunday school. There is no such thing,'

'Three days ago, you thought there was no such thing as me. Why do you think we're here walking among you now for the first time in 2,000 years?'

'To stop Lucifer,'

'That's why we've arrived,'

'Well...bang-up job so far. Stellar work with the witnesses. That's nice,'

'We tried. And there are other battles, other seals. Some we'll win, some we'll lose. This one we lost. Our numbers are not unlimited. Six of my brothers died in the field this week. You think the armies of Heaven should just follow you around? There is a bigger picture here. You should show me some respect. I dragged you out of Hell. I can throw you back in,' Castiel vanishes, leaving Dean alone in the kitchen.

The next morning Dean wakes up. Sam and Hermione are already awake and up and about.

'You all right? What's wrong, Dean?' Sam asks.

'So...you have no problem believing in...God and Angels?'

'No, not really,'

'So, I guess that means that you believe in the Devil,'

'Why are you asking us all this?'
